  2. So just too clarify, it’s possible to extend the duration of her “Complete Combustion” state by using characters like Bronya, Sparkle, etc, right?

    Seems like she’s a hypercarry who’s heavily reliant on supportive teammates. How in the hell do I fit a healer in there, lol. Would be nice if there was an action advance or break buffer with some healing on the side.

    Firefly – DPS
    Sparkle – Crit buff + Action advance
    Ruan Mei – Break buff
    Harmony Trailblazer – Break buff

    ^Something like that? Or would a single Break buffer be sufficient?

    • Firefly is a Hyper Break carry that benefits the most with Ruan mei/ Harmony Mc, her kit already has defense shred and good scaling and her best build is break build instead of tradicional crit dmg, she gains ALOT of spd from self buff so sparkle/bronya aren’t that good with her

      Right now her best team is

      Fire fly – Massive Break Dps/Fire implant

      Gallagher – Healer/ Super sp positive ( if you aa+ult+aa in one turn you gain 2 skills points and aoe heal) against fire weakness enemies Gallagher becomes a sub dps/toughness bar breaker

      Ruan mei – Break efficiency and aoe spd buff/dmg buff ( dmg buff helps with break damage )

      Harmony Mc – Super Break thats it, firefly with ruan mei shreds toughness bars regardless who you facing cuz firefly impant fire weakness combine with Gallagher enemies will be on Break stats half the fight

      Just because sparkle is broken with action advance and massive aoe crit dmg means nothing to firefly who will take alot of turns and most time won’t crit bc her kit don’t focus on crit rate/ crit dmg

    • Trying to play 3 harmony units and not immediately die after your first ult runs out sounds like ass. Sparkle’s crit isn’t as valuable for Firefly as it is for other dps characters, because super break damage doesn’t scale on crit. You could go RM, HMC and Gallagher though. Gallagher would act as a healer and a sub dps in a break team. His ult also gives a small buff to break damage.

    • Someone else answered if it’s worth it. I’ll answer that it is *possible*, but hard to do.

      Bronya needs specific speeds and setups, and would want to be perfectly tuned, but I’ve been told she can allow for 2 extra turns. With Firefly’s changing speeds, she likely falls off after the first ult cycle. If not perfectly tuned, you need multiple skills to get 1 extra turn.
      Sparkle needs to skill twice with full value out of her advance before you get 1 extra turn at 180 speed Firefly. Possible.
      Robin is by far the easiest, just ult right after Firefly’s first enhanced turn ends and you get 1 extra turn plus concerto for the rest of the combustion state.

      Bronya and Sparkle, however, would have buff uptime issues that would make them struggle to completely buff Firefly before she literally burns through their buff durations and has to take turns unbuffed.

  3. So is her optimal build currently pure break, crit focused or where’s the middle ground?

    I feel like she has to much atk scaling to entirely forego crit but I haven’t calculated anything about her myself yet so can’t say

    • 250 break effect, crit rate body, speed boots, attack orb, attack rope, ~28 substats for crit value, count Ruan Mei’s skill in:
      ~30k critable damage per strike. ~60k super break damage per strike.

      360 break effect, attack body, speed boots, attack orb, break effect rope, zero substats for crit value, count Ruan Mei’s skill in:
      ~18k critable damage per strike. ~90k super break damage per strike.

      The latter does way higher damage and is way lower investment.

      • My old posts may suggest something otherwise, but that’s based on the assumption that FIrefly’s enhanced skill’s base toughness damage was 60 / 30, the same as Jing Liu’s enhanced skill. However it turns out to be 90 / 45, meaning my previous estimations on the super break damage that Firefly would deal is greatly underestimated. Given such a great toughness damage without a payoff, the Harmony Trailblazer is a must-have for Firefly’s team because they are so far the only character who gives so much payoff for it. Not even Firefly herself has any payoff for it.

          • I can’t really except so. That sounds like one day Hoyo’s about to release a better Kafka. In this case the said better Kafka will only be a bestie of the original. Another instance of the HTB makes the break team even more overpowered by doubling all the super break damage.

  4. About speed, it is kinda funny how it lines up so well with all her buffs and restrictions:
    – her ult advance her forward, and ends when it reaches Countdown Timer (CT), which has speed of 90.
    – so, CT between start of her ult turn, and the end of it will have Action Value (AV) of 10000/90 = 111.1
    – thus, to have 3 turns during her ult we need to have 55 AV between turns, so she will go on 0, 55, 110, and then reach CT.
    – now need to get speed our of this action value – 10000/55 = 181.8. A bit less, 181.5 works as well, since AV is 55.09, which is still less than a half of 111.1 AV of CT.
    – knowing her breakpoint, we can finally find out how much speed we need without her ult buff, traces and base speed:
    181,5 – 62.5 = 119 – breakpoint without ulti buff
    92 +5 = 97 – her base spd with traces
    119 – 97 = 22 – which even less than SPD boots.

    If you pair her with Ruan Mei, we need to reach breakpoint of 119, after Mei’s 10% buff to her base:
    119 / 1.10 = 108.18
    108 – 97 = 11 – which is very manageable to get from substats.

    Considering that Ruan Mei buffs break effect as well, she’s going to be her best support, giving her 20% bonus break effect, and lowering SPD requirements by 11 SPD, allowing you to get ATK boots.

      • You need to 120 SPD before RM and her ult buff, to hit 182 SPS for 3 ult turns.
        That’s 23 SPD via substats, 17.2 if you play the new planar set.
        17-23 SPD from substats is a lot considering you’d want to get lots of BE, ATK (and possibly even some crit stats).

        So, might as well go SPD boots to fulfill this requirement instantly, and then just go ATK chest and orb I guess.

  5. Since all of my posts so far have been nothing but harsh criticisms, I figure I should give mihoyo credit for the one solitary factor in relation to her animations. The nude cut-in portraits are undeniably very sexy indeed, and allow me to imagine my beautiful wife naked every time they flash on screen! ^///^

      • Yeah gundam has done this sort of thing, when it came to new type stuff. Only it was never used in a sexual way. More as a spiritual sort of thing, that humans can connect to each other, that they can go beyond mere physical or bodily limits to reach out to one another. To try and truly understand one another. For the idea behind new types or at least the theory. was humanity reaching a new height. Going into space unlocking the next step in humanity. To finally be able to fully understand one another, without fear of misunderstanding.

        That and also other mecha stuff or series where characters transform like tenkai knights. Tend to show what the character is like under the armor. To help give a better idea of what they are feeling and thinking during that moment. Given the suit they are using normally can’t emote very well. Like the op sounds like they have zero media knowledge or been hanging out on rule 34 way to much. To think this is a sexually thing. Since one of the animations shows her in a more ghostly like way. Yeah x to doubt this is meant to be sexually at all. Rather it meant to be more spiritual or show the likes of purity, innocent. Given they only show the most upper part of the body as well. Focus more on the face and the emotions. Yeah I think it rather clear, this is not a case of nude being used for sexually related things but rather, a case of it being used for one of the follow, purity, spiritual or innocent.

      • Both of them do love to create a bit of chaos. Which also Silver Wolf has spark lots of memes. Even hacked into the game to give us all free stuff. While Sparkle is just pure delightful chaos.

        • Yeah Like Ayaka post seems normal to me. Given hey, sounds like they would work well with a number of characters. To lower or boost their health up. While I don’t see how the comment they made at all, is provoking. It just asking the most innocent what if question on the face of the earth. I think the person called “Get a life” Might just be a troll themselves. That really has it out for Ayaka user.

  6. Her animations are kind of the reverse of when you unlock the boss as a playable character, going even further and gaining an extra form and abilities than her boss counterpart lol. But yea, was kinda looking forward to the air meteor smash, coulda been a finishing attack to end the combustion state. Still thinking what to build her with..

  7. Her kit is just incredibly confusing? I know this is just v1 for her kit but here is some comments/critiques I have about her kit:

    – Her SPD buff from her ult wants her to be fast, but she has an insanely slow base SPD. Even with trace stats, she has a base 97 SPD. Compared to Seele, who has a base SPD of 115, her 25% SPD buff gives her a similar SPD value to Firefly in her ult state. Seele can keep that SPD buff permanently very easily, while Firefly has the SPD buff locked inside her ult state.
    – Firefly has a huge multiplier on her attacks, but the lack of crit stats and her wanting other stats instead makes her unable to use it to its full potential. The break effect makes the multiplier higher that makes it similar to DHIL 3EBA multipliers, but without crit, it would seem to do less?
    – She wants all this break effect, but she seems to use the break effect less than others? Other than the multiplier increase and innate DEF ignore from a trace, she only applies it to when she breaks enemies herself.
    – She has a massive HP draining system, but other than giving her a 2 turn ult, it does nothing for her. Her talent is just a safety net for her almost taking all of her HP. All the other DPS in the game have talents that really boost their damage or help deal damage.

    I know this seems very much a doomposty post, especially since I compared her to other characters, but I would like to understand her kit. I know this is only v1, so her kit can easily change from now. I’m just incredibly confused, and just putting a comment here because its one of the first times I’m long term saving for a character, as I love Firefly and SAM as characters. I also have not seen any current actual gameplay showcases so I don’t actually know how good she actually is right now. I’m not a theorycrafter at all so she might actually be busted rn, but from a design standpoint, it seems very puzzling, as she seems to want so many stats.

    • She does indeed need many stats, but many of the stat can be gained via buffs from her team mate.

      – 360 Break: You can get 278 BE with: Sig, BE Rope, Traces, new Relic and SU set, 3400 attacks, then the rest can be gained with HMC level 12 Ultimate (33), 200% BE HMC E4 (30%), Ruan Mei (20%), Watch maker set (30%) then some BE rolls.
      – 3400 Attacks: You can get this for free by using: Shoe, Rope, Orb Attack%
      – Using a Crit body, you can distribute CV you get on the gears to bring her CR to about 70% and CD to about 130%. It’s a decent stat.

      But she doesn’t have only one build, you can go all in Break Effect% stat and get about 450~500% BE with her if you fish out enough BE Substat. Or go ham on Attack with 4 Attack% pieces, then fish out BE to fit the 360% BE req.

      The point is: She needs HMC, and that makes me happy.
