  1. ngl i think that is the type of character that needs fu xuan because unlike clara she doesn’t have a damage reduction in her kit and she got a taunt so more and more enemies will hit her and im saying this because i try clara with someone like aventurine and in a run where everyone would hit clara aventurine wouldn’t keep up with the shield demand even with the damage reduction and 90% ult uptime (and my aventurine is good he got a 4k shield) so yunli would probably kinda be fored to being with fu xuan (and maybe she will work fine with luocha and gallagher but idk)

    • Yunli’s taunt only lasts for a single ally/enemy turn when she uses her ult, so it’ll only make one enemy attack hit her at most. She also doesn’t have increased aggro without her LC so, outside of her ult taunt, she’ll probably only get hit around as much as any other destruction that isn’t Clara. If you’re not running Yunli with her LC, she’d probably benefit a bit from the increased aggro by provided characters like Lynx or March, just to make her more reliable as a counterattacker.

      In contrast, Clara has increased aggro from her ult that lasts 2 turns so it makes sense that she’ll get hit a lot more and thus need better help staying alive and it’s also why she doesn’t need extra aggro from other characters as much. Imo, her damage reduction is likely due to having that increased aggro in the first place.

      That said, Fu Xuan would probably be a big help either way for both Yunli and Clara because of her damage reduction, damage redirection and ult heals so she’d likely be better than Aventurine for both if he has trouble maintaining his shields.

    • Maybe, that or Huohuo as Yunli ult costs quite a lot and Huo² will help the whole team pretty well if you’re also running Robin, which you should be if you have her

    • Now I’m picturing Svarog and Yunli staring each other down, both waiting for the other to make a move first. The, when one eventually does (probably Yunli since she’s faster), they relentlessly counterattack each other until one collapses.

      Meanwhile, Clara’s busy examining some random Xianzhou ingenium to broaden her mechanics knowledge and the Clara Protection Society and the Yunli Protection Society meet and merge into some kind of combined Barefooted Girls Protection Society, determined to bring shoes to all girls.

  3. Yunli’s ultimate has 720% attack multiplier vs. single target and is already higher than the Lightning Lord at 10 stacks. With E1, she has 960% attack multiplier vs. single target.

    However she desperately wants crit rate. This is the sell value of her E2, huh.

    • E2 would definitely help but I think she should manage fairly well without. 5% base + 6.7 from traces, 6 from the Valorous set, 32.4 from crit rate body totals 50.1% without substats. Add in some decent substat rolls and she should be alright at E0, though E2 would definitely make it easier.
      The main problem I can see is that crit rate body means no crit damage body. Duran planar gives 25% at 5 stacks and her LC would add 36% but that’s E0S1 and still needs good substat rolls to really get her killing properly, though E0S1 should be much easier to get than E2.
      All in all, I think she’s looking good atm, but heavily dependent on good relic rolls for doing good crit.

        • True. Since crit dmg is easier to get via other characters, building Yunli with crit rate body shouldn’t be much of an issue then. Get her a good crit rate via relics and let other units up her crit dmg in addition to whatever she manages to get via her relic substats and she’ll be good to go. Means her E2 is more of a nice bonus rather than something needed.

          I was thinking more about trying to get both crit rate and crit dmg from relics/possibly her LC and didn’t consider teammates boosting crit dmg. Bit of an oversight on my part there.

    • Yunli’s counterattack and Clara’s deal around same level of damage vs. single target when ultimate is not active.

      However, Yunli’s counterattack comes as a blast attack.

      Also, Yunli’s ultimate is way stronger than Clara’s. Excluding supports, Yunli deals ~30k / ~15k damage for the initial blast attack and ~10k damage per bounce, leading to ~90k damage vs. single target, while Clara only deals ~24k / ~12k per strike.

TL;DR: in terms of pull value her v1 seems like a clara who doesnt do enough better than clara to warrant pulling for her specifically. if you dont have clara and have completely given up on the possibility of losing a 50/50 to her, yunli can def be considered to fill the physical dmg niche in an account

    SO yunli, huh. honestly, a lot of my gripes with her would be completely solved if she was literally any other element than physical. oh well, cant really change it post-drip.

    her dynamic with clara is kinda interesting: yunli has lower multipliers than clara on her counter and enhanced counter but makes up for it with her argenti ult bounce upon being hit, and the timing of her ult is definitely more interesting than clara.

    she has much lower base atk than clara (almost a whole 60 iirc) and is overall less tanky but she can actually heal herself making her much more self-sufficient and she does increase her cdmg hugely while in ult. the 15 energy upon being hit is very nice and so is her max energy being double her ult cost. i do like how many overflow mechanics we’ve been getting recently

    i overall really like how her kit is designed but DESPISE her element and similarity to clara.

    if i were to suggest a change, id lower the multipliers on her counters (maybe to like 100% on regular and 200% on enhanced, while keeping the 80% bounce) BUT give her skill a party-wide march e6 heal and a party-wide guard of wuthering snow on her ult. NOW you have this really interesting dynamic where you can use her as a fast sustain but at the huge risk of dying, exacerbated by her damage’s reliance on being hit, or you can go all in on damage while also helping your primary sustain keep the team alive. basically since they removed the healing on jiaoqiu make yunli the jiaoqiu LMAO

    overall i find yunli quite nice kit-wise and she does do enough to feel different to clara, yet i hate how similar her role is to clara and really wish they either changed her element or kit. why we couldnt have preservation yunli is beyond me

    • Yeah, Yunli’s element is probably the biggest disappointment for me too because of the Clara overlap. Fire would suit her great considering what we know of her (Flamewheel Octet, forging etc.) but I assume they avoided that because of Firefly since having two 5stars of same path/element combo in consecutive patches doesn’t seem like something they’d do, even if the playstyles are completely different.

  5. I really like Clara’s counter play-style so I might get Yunli because it literary behaves like a reactive parry (on players behalf), but I was really hoping she’d provide some sort of counter buff to allies like March’s shield or Clara’s ult.
    Would’ve been pretty amazing if she countered on any ally getting hit, within reason ofc like 3 stacks similar to march but without the need for a shield or w/e.
    But its still early af so will wait for the following beta’s to see what happens.

          • Ruan Mei is somewhat anti-synergy for a counterattacker like Yunli. RM focuses getting enemies weakness broken and keeping them broken which stops them attacking which is bad for Yunli.

            Robin, Sparkle or Tingyun would be better harmony options instead; Robin and Sparkle are good for atk/damage/crit dmg while Tingyun gives some damage as well as a large amount of energy and, since a good chunk of Yunli’s damage is from her ult counters, energy is very useful for her.

            Hunt March works pretty well with a master like Yunli but Yunli herself doesn’t really benefit from March unless March is E6; the spd boost for being master is nice but not necessary for Yunli.

            Fu Xuan should easily be able to keep everyone alive and being preservation doesn’t mess up Yunli’s aggro as much as people might think so use her if you’ve got her, though Huohuo is also a good sustain option because of the atk and energy she provides.

    • I genuinely don’t know why Arengti’s getting so much hate. He literally could/can 40k any Pure Fiction, any side, with relative ease. Regardless of element or enemies he was/is facing

      He’s literally the pull to never struggle with Pure Fiction ever. Only less bricked than Jade (If you can’t spare a good, elemental matching erudtion though luck, TERRIBLE in MoC), with respectable MoC performance and the best calyx farmer.

        • Well I think that simply due to many loving damage per screenshot. That or oh hey, this newer character is easier to use. So old one must suck, even if on the same level. For people love easy to use characters, that can lead to big numbers on big beefy boss. Without needing to do alot of work. Which is what makes the new break effect dps seem rather appealing. Depending on your luck in rng. Given you farm the break effect set get crit rate crit damage. While farming for a normal dps, get nothing but break effect.

          For some reason ,people just do not treat pure fiction with the same level of seriousness as they do memories of chaos. Even with well you still get jades from pure fiction. The reason I build Himeko and Herta. Which yeah I lost alot of 50/50s to Himeko. e4 she is. So getting 40k has been no issue so far. Even with her being far from my best build character. So my other team just needs to earn the bare min amount of points and job is done. E1 Robin helps in that task. Which e1 Fu xuan was a life saver in the dot pure fiction. Any who. Jades are jades. If a character can help you get the jades from a end game mode. They sound worth it to me. More so, given there is that logic of. if I can’t max star i’m losing jades. Which only makes sense if you when from always max staring the content to failing to get that final star. Given a brand new account won’t have access to that jade income from the start.

        • maybe because there is three endgame modes and erudition is just worthless in two of them, while for example destruction is valuable in all three.

          • In terms of gameplay or numbers wise i dont really have a conplaint, however as i have said before hoyo needs to work on them animations/design. They got infinite money the least they could do is have a well design character with good animations.

            Her animations outside of her ultimate are absolute dog shit. Her throw animation is essentially the same as Guinaifens technique animation, just on a smaller body.
            Hope they change it. Also I dont mind her being Clara 2.0 since I dont have a Clara nor do I mind more ‘counter’ characters since I really like Bazett from FGO.

    • But you don’t want the enemies to be broken tho. Broken enemies = no counter. Idk if double break effeciency is a good thing for her.

      • Against mobs, she’s probably doing enough damage that potentially breaking isn’t much of an issue. Against bosses, they usually have enough toughness that she should take out a decent chunk of their health before breaking and ult still counters even if she isn’t attacked so it’s not a complete loss for her
