Feixiao /wo Robin is just like Firefly /wo Harmony TB. Still playable but I can’t really recommend.
So Feixiao is way weaker without Robin ? Why, is it because of the boosts, the advance forward or the bonus dmg? =o
I’m sorry, I’m lost in updates, can we play her hypercarry or is she tied to dual DPS with Topaz/March 8th/E1 Jade/insert FuA unit without being good anywhere else ?

There is too many units needing specific units to work at a decent level now, game is getting boring if we can’t diversify team comps anymore. =( I already took the bait and E1S1 my Jade so she isn’t locked to PF (I don’t regret it, I can play her everywhere and I enjoy her a lot), and I didn’t pull for Firefly because being locked to a single team isn’t fun to me =(
Firefly won’t always be locked to a single team. HMC won’t be the only superbreak buffer in the game and will most likely be surpassed MASSIVELY in the future. Just gotta give it some time there. As for Robin, Robin allows not just Feixiao to move again, but everyone on the team. On a follow up atk team a single team advance forward is closer to 8 advance forwards because they attack that many times and Robin adds a minimum damage buff to every one of those hits. She is legit the HMC of follow up teams. However powerful Robin is on a normal crit team, she’s TWICE as good on Follow up teams.
Don’t hate on that though, Robin is MEANT to be a follow up attack buffer. That’s what she was designed for. Much like RM for Break. THey are good on other teams, but they do even better at their expertise.
An example of a possible future Firefly buffer could be a buffer that gives a certain amount of bonus damage %, crit %, skill % based on the BE of the unit targeted. Probably a single target buffer though because to buff the entire team with that would be insanely OP.
I agree with you for Robin, her energy goes up when people attacks, she deals dmg when people attack and allow people to attack more, she is amazing. But what I meant is than I know I can play E1 Jade + March with some other (RM, Sparkle, I even tried SW for ST bosses) units, and while not being optimal for sure, it was still fine.
But Dazz said than Feixiao isn’t great without Robin, that he doesn’t recommand. So I fear to be stuck to only one team (dual DPS being E1 Jade or March for me) and loose flexibility. I already have my Kafka glued to Black Swan (while I can use BS with Acheron if I want), it’s fine because I love Kafka and DoT playstyle, but I don’t want to many characters to be in that position.
Even with Jinlgiu, I can change RM with Pela, SW or Sparkle, I can change Bronya for Sparkle, and still clear content.
Feixiao can work without, it’s just rly cope compared to with. You’d just simply never use her without Robin because she’d be that much worse it would honestly feel bad to use her.
Firefly needs HTB only because she’s made to exploit the HTB’s kit. Where else do you find a DPS with little damage on themself but needlessly super stupid high toughness damage and unconditional weakness implant? However, since Fire break damage is high and Firefly has some super break on her own, she is still capable to full star a MoC at 5 cycles without the HTB, just it is needless to do so since the HTB is max-eidoloned for free.
Also, I doubt if there will be a better HTB in the future. The HTB is not just strong. The super break mechanic is stackable, meaning one more HTB and the sustainer shall leave the comp, not even a better HTB is required, and the resulting team makes everything else look pointless in comparason. Also, Hoyo don’t buff a DPS that is already dominant by releasing better alternatives of their mates, if such a mate is already on the production line, make it so they are not so great and not a must, and this is how they handled Jiaoqiu and Lingsha. When it came to the mates for gen 1 DPS such as Seele, Jing Yuan, QQ, and DHIL, Hoyo released Sparkle instead.
Feixiao is yes way weaker without Robin, but still playable. I still recommend you to get Robin, even E0S0 works. March 7th (Hunt) is max-eidoloned for free, and the comp is already enough to 0-cycle the MoC. Feixiao is just like Firefly, only two limited 5-star units and the comp is complete, except she asks for crit values from relics while Firefly does not. Of course you may opt to get Topaz and Aventurine and like to upgrade the team but the gains are miniscule, you upgrade from MoC & AS dominant into MoC & AS dominant.
Interestingly, when March 7th (Hunt) and Moze are in comparason, Topaz received the same treatment of Jiaoqiu an Lingsha. Despite it is technically an upgrade, but not so great and not a must. If you already have Topaz then just use Topaz, it is fine, otherwise I don’t think you need to.

Topaz should absolutely never be pulled to make Feixiao stronger. The opportunity cost is atrocious. If you have her lying around sure, but there’s a whole bucket list of Eidolons and 5 star weapons you want, before her name as an upgrade even becomes mentioned
Aventurine on the other hand is a great pickup, mainly because playing without offers quite a challenge. FX and her follow up team is quite squishy, so you might have to use their high toughness damage to break enemies at opportune times to stay alive.
700% ult multiplier for 6 hits or 6 stacks of her ult she has a double ult like Yunli with her 120 energy and max 240 energy ult. Feixiao CAN stack up to 12 hits but only hits 6 times for 700% multiplier and then you can launch another ult for 700% again using the remaining 6 hits which is 1400% multiplier total. People need to read and not just look at numbers she doesn’t use all 12 hits anymore for one ult.

This isn’t me trying to pick on you. I’m just helping you realise the mechanism that got you to come here and justify your choice.
Just to rebound on the idea that Feixiao is only good in one team, the only unit you really need with her is Robin. Then you slot March7 which everyone has (or Topaz/Moze) and a sustain and you’re good to go. In other words, Feixiao is more team flexible than Firefly is, and only a little less than Acheron.
Nice try at being a psychiatrist but I have plenty of jades, around 350 pulls at the moment. I like to save them up and spend them on characters and lightcones I really want. I’m not some crazy gambling addict in denial. While I want Feixiao, I don’t think she would be great on my account. I don’t want to pull for Robin just for Feixiao. I don’t want her or like her.

Strong as fuck DPS, but very dependent on Robin. Without Robin she’s like a Firefly without HMC or an Acheron without her sig LC.
High multipliers, high self buffs and hits a lot, 2 FUAs per skill/turn.
Build:
4pc Valorous + Duran>Izumo
90~100% Crit Rate (CR chest is better)
120%+ Crit DMG (not really needed because of team buffs)
134+ SPD (with ATK boots if possible)
After that get as much ATK as possible.
Team comp:
1. Robin (every other option is shit)
2. Topaz≥Bronya>Moze>March (Hunt)
3. Aventurine>Gallagher>>>Lingsha
If you’re gonna use Bronya, get Feixiao to Bronya’s SPD+1.
If you’re gonna use March, get her to ~123 SPD.
btw if you’re broke or whatever, Ratio’s signature LC is as strong as her signature LC, some saying it’s 1% better, some 1% worse, some saying it’s 5% worse. so yeah. get her if you find her hot (very likely) and already have or can get Robin too.

Feixiao is a very average DPS, weaker than the likes of Yunli, and a tad better than Ratio. She’s also just as bit as reliant on her Lightcone as any other DPS in the game (which means get it or bust). She’s really nothing particularly special. DEMANDING Robin, as you put it in your own words, is a massive downside.
Topaz is once again unnecessarily shilled. Moze was used to 0 cycle Hoolay. If you wanna get the E1S1 of a horrible 5 star, to proudly boast she beats a 4 star, then yeah. Good on you, I won’t judge

Every ckear I’ve seen with her does exceptionally well compared to other units, beating Acheron, FF and Boothill.
Maybe live tests show different results, but I honestly doubt it.

Hoolay is not a fair comparison. Purely single target, bad first wave for BH, restrictive elements, actually deals damage
Still, both Acheron,Boothill and Yunli can 0 cycle him with very reasonable investment, is just people go crazy over cost. Because for some reason a base 5 star has cost in them. Very stoopid and bad metic to rate strength.
I think the word average might not be right yeah, mb. She’s not JingYuan level. However she’s as generic as DPSes in HSR go. She really wants her Lightcone. She has problems, her raw basekit and future team synergy is questionable.

Ratio WAS free, it’s been a while at this point so players who joined after 2.1 can be in the endgame
I disagree with her being average, she deals about 2.7M~3M damage per cycle, she’s a generic Crit DPS tho, so nothing in her kit is super crazy, but she deals a lot of damage multiple times per cycle.
As I said, her light cone isn’t really necessary, as you can equip Ratio’s or Topaz’s LC. She “only” needs Robin, Topaz is just an (unnecessary) upgrade and I’m sure future supports will make her even better.
Meh the problem with Future supports is that they are hard to even imagine. The only thing they could do is BLATANTLY powercreep Topaz. As in another fast attacking, ult/follow up debuffing 2nd DPS. A 2nd Feixiao could also work, but dual DPS teams have a bad track record.
Robin and Aventurine feels nigh irreplaceable. It’s the Firefly dilemma all over again, only FF at least has 2 4 stars in her team.
Her Limited Lightcone isn’t necessary, just own another limited Lightcone 💀. I’m sure that helps a very relevant portion of pullers 😛
Her sig is not that important, the team damage only increases by ~10% compared to S5 Swordplay
She isn’t the only person dealing damage on the team, so upgrades to her damage are not as impactful as they are for Acheron or Boothill who essentially deal all the dam

tldr: she strong but dependant on Robin like Firefart to HMC, but unlike HMC you need to pull Robin. without Robin she kinda mid. she is BiS at driving Robin damage same as Firefart is BiS driving HMC damage.

Firefart is still mid if you only have HMC though. The “Other-Robin” is what made the team so strong. And you need “Other-Robin” and HMC to be together, otherwise, fart truly becomes fart.

Low multipliers? multipliers pre what? If have to say then there’s only AV. I don’t think mhy will make a character have that higher multipliers than her( on Singer Target). 700 on ult, 200+110+110 on E= 1120. to compare with dps use energy her energy is just like 40~80 depending on your team. For easy visualization at least 1.5~2 turns/ ult. Take Ratio as an example: he has 270 on ult E 150 + three fua 240*3 = 1140 very high right? that’s why he’s very strong for the release. but remember his ult costs 140 energy, take 3~4 turns/ult. I’m not mentioning the self-buff, we all know who has more.
