Хойоверс можете сказать а как Бутхилл какает? 💔🥀
Just heard we would be getting a physical destruction unit soon.
This guy had it rough. Not only do we get a generally better break unit next, we might already get a generally better physical unit after that.
Then as powercreeping convention goes, we might get a better hunt after that.
Salt on the wound… It already fell out in 20 turns, and I could have spent this luck on a Firefly. After playing for him, I was disappointed in his strength…
Given how many claims of power creep in this game turn out to be bs. I wouldn’t much stock in power creep. Given alot of the so called power creep characters in game. Like Seele and Lightning Lord, Are still holding their ground. While they might not be the best. They are not unusable.
Man Firefly is definitely not a better break unit then Boothill, they are more equal in strenght
Not when she is AoE, has superbreak, own action advance, higher spd, has better elemental implant, and has better relics.
I’m pretty interested in Boothill after I see his activities in the story, but I have to skip him because my TP budgets is pre-occupied until October.
Dr.Ratio and Clara, with their respective signature, are left unbuilt in my roster and would take ~2 months worth of TP. Guinaifen, another unit I would like to build, is awaiting some spare parts of the prisoner set when I take my time to upgrade the relics for my DoT comp and is estimated to take ~1 month worth of TP. I also plan to max trace Blade, Bronya, Ting Yun, Asta, Bailu, Luocha, and fully upgrade a several Abundance path light cones at lv.70, which roughly needs ~36 days worth of TP to accomplish. If I get Boothill now, he will have to wait long. Not to mention that due to the sheer high quality of HSR, most units in the game are more or less adorable and attractive in my eyes, even those who don’t interest me at first glance I might end up finding them awesome and likeable, and Boothill is a living example, meaning future units might get into the queue and leave Boothill wait longer until his time. That’s to say, what made me skip a unit I like is the absolute time cost to build it.
But what about Firefly? Well, I already got the ascension and trace mat to max her. I even spared more than enough self-modeling resins and relic remains for her. It is not an option to not have her in my roster. When I find myself attracted by too many units I have to choose and abandon some of them.
Geez, we had people shitting on Boothill for being catered towards fujoshis. Now we a literal diary page completed with reasons to skip him for another character.
Fudging guy can’t get a break
yes yes we get it, you’re skipping Boothill for the true omega ultimate super saiyan god mecha waifu Firefly. That’s super cool bro I bet the girls are salivating over you.
C’mon Dazz… we know you love Firefly, but is this even necessary? 😢
Whatever you see from this post, and why you feel offended, I honestly don’t get it. Maybe I wasn’t sensitive enough to avoid potential offensiveness in my words when I attemp to express something else.
My point is it takes too long to build a unit, meaning I can’t just get everything I see that I have any degree of interest in it. This pulling stratagy ends up causing a lot of units left unbuilt in the roster or roughly built and awaiting upgrades. My account already suffers from getting too many units that the TP is absolutely not enough to build them all properly. I have to change my pulling strategy. Rather than pull first and think later, I think first instead. I take my TP budgets into consideration that when I have no TP budgets for this unit I simply skip it and see if I have any TP budgets by the time of its rerun.
Yes, I like Firefly more than Boothill, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like Boothill. If his ascension mat, trace mat, and his relics were given me for free, I would have absolutely got him. If I get him now, I have to risk my wallet and by the time he is ready for use, he might already had a rerun, meaning a waste of money you know. I will have him by the time of his rerun if I had the TP budgets for him.
I’m pretty sure I was meaner about my dislike for certain characters *coughhuohuocough* than you were about not being able to afford building him and therefore you’ll skip him. You’re fine. Could be they meant it as a meme and if not then I dunno what to say tbh…
yeah given BootHill. He seems like a fun character. Only well, it seems like you need him and his lightcone. If you can only get him. Well it seems like his performance is going to suffer a bit, without his lightcone. Given he doesn’t really have that many good choice for lightcones. Given hunt is not a path with many lightcones that benefit break effect.
That and as for me. these new break effect characters seem like they could be fun but I don’t Mei. Which would greatly benefit the whole thing they are meant to do. Which given my limited jades. Yeah I don’t think I would have enough to pull both a break effect dps and Mei. Making me think, it might be better to pick them up later on a rerun. Maybe by then I will already have fulfill my main goals, of picking up a few extra copies of two supports I like using. For yeah it does take awhile to build up a character in this game. Which if they are relaying on crit damage, crit rate. It bloody rough to build them. Given these are the rarest stats in game. need speed as well? Hahah. hahah. haha. I hope you like spending months grinding just to get them in decent usable shape. Yeah the amount of time it takes to farm up and make a character usable. Can easily lead to most of your roaster of characters you plan on using, being in rough shape or simply unusable for the longest time. Given you simply are unlucky with artifacts or just due to all the time it takes to gather trace mats.
Which given all characters get a rerun sooner or later. There is no need to worry about it. Can always grab them on a rerun. Like say, save up your jades to grab a break effect dps and Mei in one go.
Thank you for speaking for me. I almost doubt myself when I see these replies talking as if I did something wrong. They seem angry seeing my decision to skip Boothill and get Firefly. Maybe I shouldn’t have mentioned the word Firefly in the original post, huh.
To make it clear, I don’t dislike Boothill either. Just my like towards him wasn’t high enough to put him on top of the queue, so he has to wait for his time. If I dislike a unit I don’t conceal.
It’s why I said could be a meme because not liking a character is pretty standard in gachas I literally hate 40% of the HSR roster.
But ya you didn’t say anything wrong or offensive. Like for me Firefly is just like Boothill for you. I don’t hate her at all (I dislike that she IS Sam but not to the point of hating her) but I love Jade more and therefore would rather get her and grab FF on a rerun if I ever change my mind.
Well, these days… if you mention Firefly and Boothill names in the same paragraph and not outwardly fawning over Boothill then you will be seen as a boring FF simp.
Hi, long time lurker here. Tension is really high right now because Firefly got all the love that even Boothill got some stray bullets – his bis relic got changed, enemies toughness reduced, etc., then another 5 star physical destruction just got leaked.
Your “why I’m skipping Boothill for Firefly” thesis ON BOOTHILL’S PAGE only sprinkled more gasoline into the fire. So you like Firefly more than Boothill? That’s cool, but can you please keep it to yourself especially in these difficult times for Boothill’s fans?
“Difficult Times”
Girl Please…
I don’t look closely at mob changes but “reduced enemy Toughness” is only relevant if it drops below 480 Toughness because his Talent caps the calc at 480. If anything, it’s actually beneficial for Boothill if bosses don’t go past that because that generally means they get broken sooner.
People act like it’s absolutely unplayable but “muh BiS set nerfed” is mostly alleviated by the buff towards Super Break DEF Ignore which he is more than free enough to utilize. How hard is it to slot in HTB in his team when even just the sheer amount of BE HTB provides is something Boothill greatly appreciates?
For Boothill E0S1 paired with HTB (both of which have 15 BE mid-rolls), the damage loss from Break+SB DMG per Enh.BA is 1.65%/1.95%/2.27% for 1/3/5+ targets respectively. If you also have RM, the margins are smaller at 0.69%/1.02%/1.38%.
1. “…then another 5 star physical destruction just got leaked…”
->
“…then another 5 star physical destruction just got rumored…”
It is a rumor, not leak. The only thing we know about Yunli so far is she has counter attack in her kit. The element type and path are unknown and physical destruction is just a speculation. Even if she was a physical destruction she has a different role in the team than Boothill meaning zero competation between the two. You believe in every rumor you hear then you are prone to be deceived, you know.
2. “…Tension is really high right now because Firefly got all the love that even Boothill got some stray bullets…”
Yes, during the period of the 2.3 beta test, some changes were made flavoring towards Firefly. So? What caused the tension?
During the 2.1 beta test, Acheron got all the love while Aventurine wasn’t treat the same, and Aventurine fans wasn’t as mad as the guys above, and it turns out Aventurine is in fact a good unit, Hoyo didn’t nerf him to the ground just because they didn’t had an Acheron level of affection on him and allowed him a high power level regardless. This is just the same case of Boothill, as he is still a good unit regardless. While he’s heavily dependant on the player’s tactics just like Seele, that doesn’t mean he’s bad, that only means he’s hard to master.
I think they get your points and they’re just getting a laugh out of this.
But the thing is, despite the start of paragraph starting with how you like Boothill, you immediately followed up with heavy favoritism for another character. You even provided detailed opinion on why Firefly is more ‘meta’ even if you didn’t outright say so with how you included the costs.
I think it would’ve been fine if you wrote this on Firefly page. But posting it here is like walking into a wine bar and order and whiskey.
Can’t blame them for squinting their eyes here tbh.
I think it just comes across poorly because you’re posting it here, where people who like Boothill are going to gather and not like that you posted about not pulling for him. You do have a point, though: It takes too long to build a unit to their potential relative to the frequency of units we get.
Getting them to max level with a max LC takes a few days, then you spend a week to a week and a half to farm traces. You’re already at 2 weeks of farming and there’s no TBP spent on getting relics. Those take a variable amount of time depending on how complete you want your relics to be, but can easily take weeks to a month to farm 1 domain and get decent relics for both sets and get 1-2 characters geared depending on the cavern.
It’s half of the reason why I loathe to raise Gallagher despite knowing he’s a good character. I already have Bailu, Huohuo, Fu Xuan, Aventurine, and Lynx raised being the other half. Having to raise him means spending TBP on him instead of improving my current teams, thus adding another sustain to that list, and using him in 1, maybe 2 teams. It’s also part of why I haven’t raised my E6 Guinaifen, or tried out a freeze comp with Misha. It’s weeks worth of effort that I really just need to spend on my other characters.
Happy Boothill Day. May Your Yees be blessed with Haws!
Yeehaw!
Strong. He is a Hunt dialed to 11.
VERY strong ST dmg.
VERY inefficient stage clearing ability.
Would he work in a mono quantum team (ie Silverwolf, Sparkle, Fu Xuan)?
I plan to use the break support units like Ruan mei and HTB for a Firefly team.
How is it a mono quantum if there is a non-quantum unit in the team?
Because you are guaranteed to apply Quantum weak to an enemy to proc the 4p Quantum set.
“guaranteed to apply a quantum weakness on a boothill + quantum team”
i think you need to read this again
I get what they mean actually. Boothill applies Physical Weakness. So on the enemy he did that on, Silver Wolf is guaranteed a Quantum weakness. Now as to the viability of this, that’s beyond me.
I just tested it with a support Boothill.
Silverwolf can still implant Physical Weakness even after Boothill has used his ult on an enemy. Dunno if that’s a bug or by design but that’s a bit of a bummer.
“I just tested it with a support Boothill.
Silverwolf can still implant Physical Weakness even after Boothill has used his ult on an enemy. Dunno if that’s a bug or by design but that’s a bit of a bummer.”
May be this is beacuse it’s “non-native” timed Weakness.. And SW decigion maker only remove “native” weaknesses from list. But interesting if SW reaplying Phys weakness over Boothills will reduce Phys RES ? Because from wording it doen’t if weakness already exists (but may be this is “native” weeknesses too) If so then SW weekness stronger than BH (and because of that it doens’t ignore it existance), because it reduce res by 20% in the same moment while BH just give ability to Break, while target still takes 20%+ less damage.
Powercrept before his release banner. Skip.
Another skippable male character for useless female playerbase.
Nah, Boothill is still OP.
This page is just full of hate. and that one person who loves calling everyone who likes males a fujoshi
From Internet:
Fujoshi is a Japanese word that means “rotten girl” or “rotten woman”, and refers to a woman who likes anime and manga with male/male relationships.
So, itsn’t that a presumption of gender? lol
It is because according to them that’s the only way for male characters to be liked lol
Damn, that’s disrespectful.
As a straight guy who likes Boothill (and every other tall male in this game)
…guess I’m a fujo now
Sauce Kun
I heck I like Aventurine. Don’t own him. Yet play around with him from supports all the time. Fun character, gameplay wise. Might pick up on a rerun. Depending on how my Jades are looking at the time. For heck, he is clearly one of the better written characters in game. That and has a clear catchphase. All or nothing. Which is just fun to hear.
Compare that to Jade. Who we don’t really know much about. With what little we do currently, being tied to our favorite gamble man. There lots of reason why someone might favor a character. Good design, good writing. Drip. All things Adventurine has. Of course. given the day and age we live in. Everyone loves to boil down the reason you like or dislike something. To straw man. To make you out to be a crazy insane person. Cue disney blaming the fans once again, after changing everything about a beloved ip and telling the old fans to go touch grass. For it much more simple to paint someone a certain way, than it is to truly get to know and understand them.
How is he powercrept ? I am pretty sure most of his showcases have been either equal to Firefly or just mile better when fully optimize xD, hardly seen a single one where he is worse than Firefly, unless they cripple him hard to show how he fare with 3 star LC and no RM
Even I memed about it early on but like. This community takes the term powercreep way too seriously. Oh? A character is similar in any shape of form to a character we already have? POWERCREEP!!!!
Still laughing at the idiots who thought Acheron was a direct powercreep to Kafka just because they share paths and element lol
Wait people believed Archeron was going to be a power creep version of Kafka? Wait how did they think that at all. One is normal run of the mill Dps, crit rate crit damage. The other is a Dot dps. Also did they forget about Silver Wolf.
This sounds like Bronya vs Sparkle all over again. People refusing to aknowledge, Bronya has benefits over Sparkle. Like 100% advance action, a cleanse. Their damage boost from skill, being a damage boost and not crit damage. Making them better for certain teams. The people who like to shout power creep the loudest. Are normally the dumbest and have no understanding of power creep. Like has there been any character as of yet, that has truly been power crept and made worthless, to the point they can’t clear the content at all, no matter how well you build them or how many god tier supports you give them?
I wish I was kidding but nope.
Damn. Yeah There is a reason I think most who have been around here for awhile. Have lost all faith in the term power creep. For they keep stretching the term, so much. It meaningless at this point. For I don’t think the people shouting power creep have ever heard of the story, the boy who cries wolf.
And before that it was Kafka vs Jing Yuan
Must be nice to be anonymous and say ignorant things online, huh?
average sad hoyo kid..
Why should I use a hunt in Apocalyptic Shadow when I have Jingli- *Team gets crippled by Destruction beast*
Multiple attacking teams still FTW.
Acheron hitching ride on kafka team
IPC
Firefly and the breakers.
Boothill and the breakers.
Anything is possible. If you have a theme song power boost.
Saucery
Because no ice weak, lol.
The AS is a format where only breaking matters. All damage to the primary target are halved before breaking it, and when you manage to, you are rewarded with full energy and SP, even for Acheron who don’t use energy, and the enemy has high vulnerability to damage when broken. Meaning you can break and you have a proper damage source after breaking the enemy, and you proft.
Traditional DPS suffer in this format when weakness type is wrong or toughness substraction is too low. They might want the help of Ruan Mei and/or Silver Wolf to solve these issues or they have sky high single target damage to offset the high damage negation of the unbroken primary target. Boothill and Firefly are the dedicated break DPS that are capable to force proc a weakness on the primary target and have way higher toughness substraction than traditional DPS and also over 90% of their damage output are done after the enemy is broken, meaning the AS is just crafted for them.
Yeah I had to dust off my shelved silver wolf for this xD
Not only that, but the leaked variant of destruction beast seems to actively punish blast and AoE attacks of the wrong element because hitting enemies that aren’t qua/img weak CCs your team from what I understand, which would mean you have to exclusively hit the Destruction beast engine
Aventurine may be able to save Firefly since she has inherent effect res, and Fu Xuan can rescue you once, Huohuo can cleanse you but it’ll need a lot of skills, and Luocha just can’t
Luckily it just so happens we got a free img hunt a while back
Good thing while farming for Mc new path. The game been giving me alot of Doctor relics. Seems like I might have to build him up. Depending on if I need two teams and the element weaknesseses are.
Interesting.
So they change it weakness, to not naturally be weak to fire? Seems like people might be praying Lynx can resist the cc, so they can still aoe cleanse with their ultimate. If they don’t have anyone else. I mean there is Nat, which in that case. You might as well just bang your head against the wall. For how painful it would be with Nat.

Very ironic that boothill fans claim that the relic change was selfish when only boothill was negatively affected by it. They don’t realize that their frustration was a by-product of their own selfish desires.
ALL OTHER BREAK TEAMS benefit from the change. No break team right now can live to tell their heroic tales without Superbreak. Superbreak made true break teams great. And this set was made better for them.
Love watching them malding though, hahaha. Firefly >>> Boothill. Our lovely waifu went so hard over them.
Karma is delicious. Bootlickers trashed Firefly’s page before v3. Oh how the tables have turned lolololol.
When one is mad, they truly become mad.
I actually genuinely don’t get it. Is Boothill completely incompatible with Harmonyblazer? Cuz like he aims to have 300 BE anyway and with Harmonyblazer he can deal super break on top of his kit’s own extra break damage, so wouldn’t he still benefit from it?
No, they work well together. I think for the most part it sucks needing HTB for the full effect of Iron Calvary, when before his team could be pretty flexible, compared to FF, and now for his, seemingly, most ideal relic set he’s locked in with a character to get the full effect. And FF who had more strict teams was, supposedly, made freer, cause she does her own superbreak now, I think. She’d still benefit from HTB no less, tho.
If you really want to understand how people feel, the boothillmains page break it down.
Overall, 4Shrug, boothill still op
Just like how prisoner’s set needs 3 DoTs to get the full effect.
That a good question. We need the science team to run the numbers.
No he can still use HTB, you’re just very likely to overkill enemies
Is that a bad thing? Another genuine question as I did not pay much attention to boothill’s kit.
Basically, Boothill has that glaring weakness of would-be strong single target units, they kill enemies one at a time.
It’s not that HTB is bad for him, it’s just that, for the most part, he is better with Bronya, so that he could kill 2 at a time.
For those that only has 1 unit to kill, HTB might be better.

Kinda. His biggest thing is that he has explosive damage. He needs to have more attacks than bigger attacks. He is a hunt unit which means he is not AOE. Unlike Seele, he has no resurgence, unlike Topaz or Ratio, he has no FUAs. He really needs Bronya.
It means wasted DMG if the enemy doesn’t have enough HP, so against enemies that aren’t ultra tanky he’ll be better off simply taking more turns with Bronya
Good point. Ngl, I didn’t see it that way before.
I am 100% sure if that Kalpani planar which is perfect for Firefly got changed to buff Boothill, you won’t write that comment.
Yes, and what you’re gonna do about it? Cry? Deal with it, you don’t matter.
