I don’t understand the doomposting when this guy charges up Acheron like a nuclear power plant.
Y’all are hyperfocused on the size of the debuffs but you don’t pay any attention to how frequently he applies them. Any future character that wants fast debuffs will love this guy.
It’s another Topaz situation where people don’t understand the true value of the character. Topaz’s purpose is to drive follow-ups, JQ’s purpose is to stack debuffs. Both excel at what they do.
And the size of the debuffs doesn’t matter considering that every buff/debuff in every endgame mode will overshadow anything your supports can do. You should care more about mechanics than numbers. JQ has the mechanics locked.
While a lot of people would pull him for Acheron, she is not everything you know. He does not replace any unit on any team comp because, at most, he is just a side grade. For being a limited 5-star unit, he needs, and have, to be above all else, or he isn’t really worth spending your jades for.
Topaz and any old follow up units is still trash. Maybe follow up will be good once the next emanator release. Jq is not bad but not worth it because of the power creep level in both honkai game is very high. He need to be a lot stronger than now.
You may think that this game is easy and can beat with any 4 star however not everyone have god tier relic. And most youtuber who make 4 star show case they replenish resin many times a day and also secretly use 5 star lc in some show case.
People still clear content with Seele. Boothill the unit that people have been saying was power creep by Firefire is still clearing the content. Old limited five star are still clearing the content and even zero cycling in certain cases. Power creep is that not crazy.
Well, trend exists for this purpose. He’s a small upgrade to a 4* lightcone, but takes a whole character slot in your team.
For MoC, you can clear in 2 or 3 cycles, and in that time range, he doesn’t generate a massive amount of stacks for acheron compared to trend. Same for pure fiction.
He has value if you don’t have trend or silver wolf, I agree with that.
Imma be real with you, i think the last few comments were made by the same person.

Same spelling, punctuation, and wording
I am a bit worried that they made him “Burn” unit now.
They might no longer make Albedo, duke’s sus child (she planned it all along!!!), a burn unit anymore!
Just make him a debuffer- damager that can crit, and we can all be happy.
He need omega MASSIVE buff in version 3-5 otherwise easy skip. Almost useless and below Pela because Pela. Pela is not just for debuff but she can also provide free skill point too. He just a bit better than SW (without 4s sig. lc.) which is absolute not worth it for now a day meta. In order to be worth it he need to be at least close to Ruanmei tier.
I’m just confused as to what his kit is supposed to be? His vulnerability was nerfed, his EHR debuff got removed, and his other multipliers also got a cut. I can’t see him as a replacement for Black Swan in a DoT (unless you really like him) and for Acheron teams, while he’s still a decent option, his kit doesn’t seem so crazy that I’d trade a SW/Pela combo for him. Unless I’m missing something, he seems just a sidegrade to those options. A decent unit but nothing crazy.
After V3, unless surprising change, we have his almost final version.
They nerfed his vulnerability, removed his EHR debuff, and slashed his multipliers. On the other hand he has a 15 energy on battle start and now applies DoT.
He’s now a jack of no trade and a master of nothing. No way he has a place in a DoT team as he can’t compete with Black Swan or Kafka or Ruan Mei, and no way he can compete with Pela as a debuffer (40% def shred). The only pull value he has left is for Acheron to gain stacks, which will be useful in contents where enemies have a lot of turns, i.e. SU at high level and PF. So if you have Acheron E0 and no SW, nor DoT team, there is value in pulling for him, otherwise, you should skip.
LOL 😄 Instead of increasing Jiaoqiu’s 40% Debuff to 60% like it should be on a limited Legendary, they Nerfed it to 35%
Well that helps me a lot actually, I get to choose another limited Legendary to get! 🙂
(We shall see V4 and V5 to be sure what is the final version in the end.)
I was thinking about Black Swan anyways, but maybe I will wait with DoT units untill HoYo gives us a Nihility or Harmony that makes all DoTs applied by the whole Team be able to Crit.
After V3 I think Hoyo wants me to die, personally.
Best place to get your salt
v2.4 changes
Skill
– DMG on main target reduced: 180% -> 150%
Ultimate
– AoE DMG reduced: 200% -> 100%
Talent
– Leftover Energy regeneration value removed (it wasn’t working during this beta anyway)
– Vulnerability nerfed: The first stack starts at 15% Vuln and subsequent stacks add 5% (rather than 15% + 5%*stack)
Here’s the exact wording now: “with 1 stack increasing the initial DMG enemies receive by 15%, and each subsequent stack increasing DMG by 5%.”
– Ashen Roast is now also a 180% DMG Fire DoT
Trace 1
– Changed: +15 Energy at the start of battle
E2
– Now adds 300% to the DoT multiplier for Ashen Roast (and so, 480% DoT)
– – –
Trace 3
– minor rewording
E6
– text clean-up of unnecessary quotation marks
oh, they added the DoT in his base kit. They reduce the dmg. maybe cos some are thinking making him critdps which is weird if ever. reducing his debuffing seems fine with how hard acheron already hits with existing debuffers, especially with those with e2 acheron that uses her alongside sparkle.
a good balancing maybe? though i want to see someone use kafka, black swan, acheron and jiaoqiu. all exclusive nihility team. hahahaha
Might as well drop the Sig LC change here too
– Initial application of Unarmored state is unchanged
– Now properly states Unarmored can’t be applied during Cornered state
– There is now a requirement of being “under the DoT state the wearer inflicted” but that wording doesn’t specify that only the DoT can proc Cornered state. Thoughts?
– Cornered state “FURTHER increases…” the effect. This means S1 is now worth 24% Vuln, whereas previously it is 18%.
I believe that final change helps support my understanding that JQ’s Talent Vulnerability got nerfed. His Talent lost 5% but the LC gained 6% at S1 to make up for the difference (and this is not the first time something like this happened).
Nah, the light cone used to be 10% + 18%, and it is now 10% + 14%, meaning even the light cone was nerfed.
v2:
Unarmored: 10%
> Under the Unarmored state, the target enemy’s DMG received is increased by 10%.
Cornered: 18%
> … into the Cornered state, which increases the target enemy’s DMG received by 18%.
v3:
Unarmored: 10%
> While in the Unarmored state, increase the DMG the target enemy receives by 10%.
Cornered: 10% + 14% = 24%
> … to the Cornered state, which further increases the DMG the target enemy receives by 14%
Should be a buff.
That was again a mistranslation.
V2 EN: When the wearer deals DMG to an enemy with the Unarmored effect inflicted by themselves, there is a 60% base chance to escalate the Unarmored state from them into the Cornered state, which increases the target enemy’s DMG received by 18%.
V2 CN: 当装备者对处于自身施加的【卸甲】状态下的敌方目标造成附加伤害时,有60%的基础概率将自身施加的【卸甲】状态升级成【穷寇】状态,使敌方目标受到的伤害额外提高18%。
lit. When the wearer deals *additional DMG* to an enemy with the Unarmored effect inflicted by themselves, there is a 60% base chance to escalate the Unarmored state from them into the Cornered state, which *furtherly* increases the target enemy’s DMG received by 18%.
they are making sure his lc is unusable on pela. Not a surprising move. They are really stingy with LC and making sure it only work on certain character with zuper niche requirement
The vulnerability debuff did not get nerfed. it was always capped at 35%.
It just got reworded so that it’s clear that you can only have 5 stacks of his debuff at maximum.
You can check it in v2 showcases in case you don’t trust me.
When does v3 changes hit?
More or less 24 hours from now. Not sure what exact time they typically come out, but it should be morning CN time.
