  1. I’m wondering though. Does Jiaqiou need his signature? Or is he better off pulling for his E1 -E2 eidolons? Cuz to me his signature doesn’t look that impressive if we compare it to other nihility unit signature

  2. are you kidding his stack generation for acheron is INSANE on ult. EVERY time an enemy takes their turn the debuff he applies stacks up and gives acheron a point, anyone with half a brain could tell how busted that is for pure fiction, and still tremendous for moc, especially considering the ult dmg buff

perhaps your psyche is poorly constructed?

  3. Man, really wish his Ashen Roast was considered a DOT as base kit instead of needing E2 to do so. I would have loved to add him to my team with Kafka and Black Swan. It would have also made me finally drop Sampo from the team.

  4. Can someone pls check one thing about his sig LC – will Cornered state be applied from Unarmored state after the DoTs or BS Arcana? Considering how much BS needs EHR, it might be really good on her in the team with Acheron.

Maybe here is someone from beta test…

      Pan Cosmic Planar Set.
EHR Body, SPD Boots, ATK Orb, and ERR Rope.
Also running Eyes of Prey just as a stat stick.

The only part I’m not sure about is the ERR rope. He has a 100 cost ult that lasts for 3 turns so idk if it’s really necessary.

energy rope gives him the exact energy needed for a skill skill basic rotation so yea i’d use it 100%

  5. They need to rework this bastard ASAP because he’s useless this way. Is hoyo just full of morons that hate money?

Acheron is one of the most popular characters. They have a chance to make a character perfect for her, a nihility healer. And they do that. And THEN they decide to remove the healing.

Now who’s gonna pull for him? He’s barely better than Pela. Other teams will always need someone like Ruan Mei, Robin, Sparkle etc more. Why would anyone skip such supports for a character that barely knows what he’s supposed to do? Did they fire people with working brains?

    • Your comment gave me a good laugh.

Firstly, this is the first version, he WILL get changes.

Second, if he healed almost any amount, he would become the most broken must-pull in the game, powercreeping all the other healers.
Sustain a team? Jiaoqiu, just slap some outgoing healing bonus on him and you’ll kill your enemies first
Damage amplification? Jiaoqiu provides Pela-levels of it, and more if you focus on ultimate damage
Damage? Jiaoqiu E2 gives him a DoT with a slightly higher multiplier than Kafka’s shock on top of the rest of his damage

Also, what are you on about with money? Sure, a healing Jiaoqiu would sell real well, but then how in the world do they sell the next Abundance characters, or the previous ones on their reruns? It’s a balancing nightmare for the devs.

      • You do know Huohuo is a great healer while also giving energy (equivalent of Acheron stacks), ATK and cleansing, right? How is that not broken?

Or Fuxuan who’s like 5 paths at once. She mitigates damage, heals, gives crit rate, effect res, HP and also deals damage.

And Aventurine, who’s a great shielder, gives crit DMG, effect res, DEF and deals damage.

So please tell me what would be so crazy about a healer that debuffs enemies.

        • In short, it doesn’t make sense from a path standpoint or a money standpoint for Jiaoqiu to heal. Could they have made him an Abundance unit that debuffs less than he does now and that would fit more into his story? Yes, they absolutely could have, and that would have been just fine. But that wouldn’t fix your complaint of wanting to use him to run a harmony with Acheron.

The long of it is that the difference is their path and intended role.
Nihility: debuff-related (DoT, slows, def shred, vulnerability, etc.) and Acheron
          Abundance: Healing, cleansing, resurrection
Preservation: Damage-mitigation (Fu Xuan style or shields), preventing debuffs (rather than cleansing them like Abundance)

Very few people would pull for new Abundance/Preservation units if all they did was heal/cleanse/tank different than other units. Every character would be Bailu/Natasha or Gepard, just slightly different. So the devs give a small buff or debuff to their kits to give them identity. This also incentivizes people to pull Huohuo for DoT, Aventurine for follow-ups, Gallagher for break, etc.

But the buffs/debuffs on sustains are SMALL with usually bad uptime, while Nihility debuffers and Harmony are bigger and often better uptime. Jiaoqiu has 40% vulnerability, plus 15% on ult damage. Gallagher, who people praise for buffing break damage, gives 12 or 13.2%. Aventurine’s ult gives 15% crit damage taken debuff, while Sparkle can give 6 times that, plus giving atk% and dmg%.

Sales-wise if they made a nihility character that would heal they would get sales of E0 Jiaoqiu but lose sales on Acheron E2 which both would allow you to run a Harmony unit while not sacrificing Acheron’s trace. They’d rather make more money on Acheron’s rerun than do that.

To discuss the characters you specifically brought up:

Huohuo: Great healing and cleansing are both part of her class identity, while her ult cost is fairly high with a 4-turn rotation, making her 40% attack buff have probably 50% uptime at most, less if you’ve got super fast DPS like Kafka. Energy is what makes her actually very good, but nobody would say that she powercreeps any Harmony because of that. If you wanted damage, you’d still run a harmony or nihility unit in her place.

Fu Xuan: 3 of the things you mentioned are in her class identity, while healing is given to her because otherwise her damage mitigation would mean nothing in long fights which would make her feel bad to use. And what in the world do you mean by her damage??? You’re doing a few thousand per enemy per ultimate.

Aventurine: Outside of class identity, his damage is there to synergize with follow-ups, and the small crit dmg debuff is mainly to synergize with both Ratio and Acheron. His damage is higher than Fu Xuan, especially in a follow-up team, but he’s still only a few percent of the total team damage. I would say he’s our most broken sustain, but that’s really because with follow-ups he can literally sustain with basic attacks to be 100% SP positive while providing significant damage through triggering Robin’s ult.

      • No shit? Well Aventurine’s job is being a shielder yet that’s not all he does. Fu Xuan is a sustain yet she has great supportive abilities like her free crit rate. Huohuo is a healer but she recharges energy and supports with attack.

Sparkle gives tons of crit dmg, DMG% AND skill points while also forwarding allies, which is crazy. SW is there for debuffs but she has something as big as implanting weaknesses.

None of the sustains and supports are just for one thing. If all Jiaoqiu ever does is debuff, I think it’s obvious he’s literally mid compared to other supports.

      • They hated Jesus for telling the truth. Yall are booing me for shitting on Jiaoqiu when he’s literally mid. All he does is debuff. SW does that and IMPLANTS WEAKNESSES.

Sustain characters like Huohuo, Aventurine and Fuxuan all have supportive abilities. Support characters like Sparkle and Ruan Mei are BROKEN compared to Jiaoqiu. He’s mid compared to other supports. Yeah he gives Acheron stacks but that’s just one character. A character who needs a nihility healer for flexibility. If he was a healer that also gave debuffs, he’d be perfect and not at all too broken. His debuffs don’t have to be crazy.

And btw he’s a healer in lore. They were planning on making him a healer, they’re just idiots.

        • I’d imagine the conversation in Hoyoverse’s office went like this.

Character design dev: “Here’s Jiaoqiu. He’s a Nihility path Foxian healer/alchemist who applies debuffs and heals.”
Marketing: “But then how would we sell Acheron’s E2? Remove the healing.”

Idiots? Nope, just money. Money money money.

They also did mess up Nihility scaling vs Harmonies for typical crit dps, but that’s another conversation IMO.

    • Wtf? Are you retarded or something? Barely better than Pela? Dude, do you even know how Acheron’s Ult works? She gets a stack every time the enemy gets debuffed. How do you think Pela debuffs enemies? Ult or skill. How does Black Swan debuff enemies? She has to take action first.
Jiaoqiu literally makes the enemies receive a debuff whenever they take action or enter combat. Do you know how fast he can stack the ultimate for Acheron??

Yeah the damage will be better but is he actually worth pulling for? No. I’ll get him because I have plenty saved up and because I love nihility characters. 6. His base kit seems to be a mix of himeko and guinaifen combined.
    Compared to Himeko:
    Skill Blast 180/90 vs 200/80
    Ult AoE 200 vs 230
No follow up but deals 150% damage (additional damage, not dot) at the start of enemy turns which can crit

E1 makes him a pseudo harmony with 48% damage (doesn’t affect dots since it triggers when enemies are attacked)
    For comparison:
    Ruan Mei’s skill gives 68%(32+36)
    Robin’s skill gives 50%
E2 enables him as a DoT dps with a modifier slightly higher than Kafka’s shock. 300% vs 290%

Overall, his base kit seems a bit boring if you’re only using him for the vulnerability and ignoring his personal damage. While his damage modifiers aren’t high (he’s not a hypercarry afterall), he does get 240% attack from reaching 140% ehr, which lets you forego an atk chest/rope and still be 4k attack with just his sig and no atk substats. Not sure if there’s any room for crit or if it’s worth it, but if you’re just using him as a pure support and sp generation, at E0, he seems only marginally better than Guinaifen.

His kit likely will be adjusted though.

    • If Welt’s LC is anything to go by, during a DoTonate attack the DoTonator’s own DoT would at least benefit from the effect. It ain’t much but it is what it is.

    • I hope they really change it, I want them to rework the E2 probably becoming something better so whales get better pay off, but move the DOT to the base kit otherwise he’s so boring why would we build his atk only for doing nothing lol

  7. So you’re telling me that this “foxian healer” does not heal you a single bit? Or did I miss a paragraph somewhere-
