Character Details | The Northern Empire, a lost dynasty, where its frozen lands burn with the fever of conquest. Sovereign Cerydra, the Chrysos Heir who wields the Coreflame of "Law," weaves her schemes, contends with the gods, passes judgment upon the faithless, and lays the foundation of Flame-Chase into this world. ..."This is far from the end. Amphoreus's journey is set to blaze across the stars!" |
Character Story: Part I | Hyperborea, the Northern Empire. A frigid realm where ambition burns without end. Since the childless sovereign fell, the throne sits vacant while the empire tears itself apart in endless civil strife. Refugees who lost their homes resort to begging to survive. A wounded girl with unusual blue hair stands out starkly against the pristine snow. "Only the royal family blessed by Talanton possesses such flame-like blue hair, and only the chosen ones have golden blood flowing through their veins..." An ambitious aristocrat takes in the beggar girl simply from just a passing glance, and begins spreading rumors of a lost princess. They lead her onto a magnificent high stage where the aristocrat raises her arm high. From her pricked fingertip drips blood as golden as dawn itself. The crowd below grows wild with excitement, and that heated anticipation seemingly sets her ablaze as well. "From this day forward, you are Princess 'Cerydra'." The aristocrat leads her into the palace, where she's dressed in ornate, heavy garments. "Cery...dra?" A single moment of hesitation earns her a slap so sharp it nearly brings tears to her eyes. "I am... I am... Cery...dra..." "I am Cerydra." "I am her." She controls her trembling as distant screams fade away. — Those were the screams of the previous princess. She studies royal etiquette daily until the tight corset no longer causes pain, until she can confidently deliver speeches... "As the princess is still young, I shall serve as regent and oversee the Hyperborean Empire's affairs." The aristocrat gathers support in her name while seizing royal authority. "She's merely a pawn we can discard, but she plays her role well enough to keep around." In the shadows, the new regent exchanges knowing smirks with the chancellor. Endless days in captivity blur together as the young "princess" reluctantly abandons the distant shimmer of stars to focus on her chessboard. This is the game for her self-preservation. "Proud princess. Those eyes of yours, always watching, always hiding... They are like..." "Like what?" With barely any effort, she will soon reach the border of the chessboard. "Like a flame soon to ignite..." With a bittersweet smile, her teacher places down the final chess piece. After thousands of matches, there's no longer a chess strategy the princess has not mastered. * Unlocked at Character Level |
Character Story: Part II | The imperial maids and guards have no power or status, yet they become the ever-present eyes throughout the shifting court. She wins them with favors, gathers intelligence, and weaves a complex web of strategies. Old aristocrats who despise the new king secretly plot rebellion, placing assassins among the royal guards. She plays the willing conspirator while secretly positioning her "knights" who will do the dirty work. The empire's citizens revere her fabricated bloodline, so she extends charity to the elderly and supports the vulnerable. Her rising reputation wins them over, making them into "rooks" who will dominate the board. "Meet me in my tent at the third quint of Curtain-Fall Hour. Urgent matters to discuss in private, Your loyal chancellor." As the sealed note finds its way to her, she knows her essential "bishop" has entered play, with each courtier now conspiring in pursuit of their covert desire for military expansion. Candlelight dances across the tent, casting shadows of deceit. The chancellor wears a smile as hollow as a faded portrait. "The northern territories share nothing with the south's gentle warmth." He points to the map sprawled before them, "Lingering here will be Hyperborea's undoing. I've secured the continent's most formidable mercenaries. The regent requests that you personally lead the campaign..." She knows they see her as expendable, ready to blame her for any failure that might occur. But she's waited far too long. Without a daring gamble, how could she ever hope to turn the tables? Crossing the mountains of Epos, she seizes the opportunity when Loukas rises in rebellion. She crushes their forces while recruiting the Chrysos General Fortunado to her side, winning the army's loyalty. City after city falls as Hyperborean armies advance like an unstoppable blaze. The blue-haired girl raises her banner, sending thundering hooves toward her chosen targets. She watches her army build up, knowing her final "pawns" are positioned for checkmate. On that dark, snowy night, the triumphant princess rides a silver-white steed, leading her forces through the capital gates to proclaim new edicts... "From this day forward, I shall bring justice to Hyperborea!" They drag the regent "king" who wears the false crown from his chambers, while his loyalists who refuse to bend find only soldiers' steel awaiting them. "She... she is not Cerydra!" From her throne of judgment, she draws her blade across her palm and golden blood trickles down as the crowd mocks him, drowning the "king" in despair. "This regent 'king' has governed with depravity, plunging the empire into chaos. By the authority of the Law, I hereby sentence you..." In the bitter northern winds, her blue hair dances wildly, blazing like fire against the pale sky. "Death by fire!" Amid the flames, she places the imperial crown upon her head, her only trophy of war. A flicker of cobalt fire awakens atop the crown, never to be quenched again. * Unlocked at Character Level |
Character Story: Part III | The tripartite prophecy spreads from Janusopolis to the city-states in endless strife throughout the land. "Saving the world... has never been of a chessmaster's interest." She ponders the prophecy, envisioning a fiery future unfolding before her. "But to challenge gods who see themselves as rulers, and even venture beyond the sky... now that's a game worth playing!" Through the endless night, she draws golden-blooded children of humanity like a brilliant flame: In Okhema's Council, Chrysos Heirs and common folk alike share the right to debate and vote. Magnificent libraries rise from the ground, granting all access to knowledge of the Flame-Chase mission. As ancient military orders crumble into dust, a gladius of the deep is drawn to shore, following the perfume of blood and fire to serve as her blades. In the political waters of the holy city, the Goldweaver of Okhema rises on the horizon, and the trembles of golden threads entangle the people's fates. ... Yet her chessboard is etched in golden blood, and she plays against gods themselves. Though she trades burning pain for her crown and suffers eternal infancy for the future, the scales of victory have never truly tipped in humanity's favor. "Losses are a constant on the Flame-Chase journey..." "Only through a worthy sacrifice can we gain a befitting victory. But to topple gods, this is far from enough..." Day and night she studies the board, concealing her anxieties from any watchful eyes. "If you're the chess master, then that makes us the pawns, right?" Without waiting for an answer, the girl who wields a sword like a musical instrument wipes blood from her hands and nods. "I understand now." Only in moments like these would the proud empress fall uncharacteristically silent. "If only..." A trace of bitterness flickers across her face. "No, there are no 'if onlys' anymore." Before the battle to claim the Ocean's Coreflame, she stands once more upon the platform, looking down at five hundred subjects who hold their breath, awaiting her decree. "My warriors..." As her voice resounds, cheers erupt throughout the crowd. "Today, the 'Ocean' shall surrender to us, and the beast of 'Destruction' will become our unstoppable weapon. Now, raise your cups! To our conquest of the sea of stars!" She knows that only a crimson sea of no return awaits ahead, but she must wear the mask of the unflinching ruler. In that moment, the wisdom of her teacher whispers to her again... "Chess is the art of sacrifice." "Your hands must accept death before touching the board." * Unlocked at Character Level |
Character Story: Part IV | "Drip." A drop of blood falls into water, sending golden ripples across the surface. "Dux Gladiorum, have you thought about where our paths might lead after this battle ends?" The sword-wielding girl stands in thoughtful silence before shaking her head. "After the rebellion settles, we'll head for the stars. You'll find your crystal-clear ocean out there, I promise." With a faint smile, she lifts her scepter skyward. "The gods have pitted us against each other, letting Amphoreus end its own life in the cosmos. So I'll turn my blade on them, on every god, whether in our world or beyond." "Drip." A drop of blood falls into water, sending golden ripples across the surface. "Dux Gladiorum, what if someday I command you to turn your blade against me?" The girl remains silent, assuming it's just another of her cruel jokes. "I'd want your sharpest edge. Anything less would dishonor those who sacrificed themselves for my cause." She tosses the chess piece that represented herself off the board. "See? To lose is to gain. New paths have emerged." "Drip." A drop of blood falls into water, sending golden ripples across the surface. "Dux Gladiorum, who do you think can take up the heavy burden of the Flame-Chase journey once we're gone?" In perfect unison, their gaze falls upon the distant "Goldweaver." "That little golden trout will one day become the most magnificent fish in this pond." "Drip." A drop of blood falls into water, sending golden ripples across the surface. "Many speculate about what I traded with Talanton. Was it the power of endless victory, or the authority of law... Heh. I've never needed any divine help for those..." The silhouette of her past companion faded away. She felt the cold creeping in, the sky pitch black like a starless cave. Long ago, she had also witnessed, in bone-chilling cold, a child with golden blood being taken away. "But in this world that devours people, having golden blood... is the only chance to overthrow everything. Even if... I must live like this for the rest of my life..." The blue-haired girl closes her eyes. "But I've only wished for one thing... since the beginning..." From a beggar child nearly frozen to death in the wilds, to a princess who was no better than a puppet, then to a commander who challenged gods... She personally elevated herself from pawn to player, only to sacrifice herself when the endgame demanded it... "I wish to conquer the tyrannical fate of this world!" * Unlocked at Character Level |

First they tried copy Furina with Misha and now this mid tier goon bait.
When will they realise that Furina has good sales because of her own story and hype, not because of her design.
really? I don’t see Furina in her at all.
She has a hat like Furina. Her coloring theme is blue. Like Furina. She is the law, like Furina is justice.
just cause something looks good. Doesn’t mean it for people to jerk off to.
true, people would jerk off to anything.
Yep. For even if not meant for that, people will rule 34 it to be that way.
Don’t listen to the haters, she’s blatantly riding Furina hype. In “As I’ve written” you can even hear they have similar voices
They even tried to mimic Clorinde with Hysilens. It’s so pathetic lol
have not seem much of Clorinde in Hysilen. Childe however and his whale yes.
Is there another way to get “Military Merit” except for skill (+1) and Ultimate(+2)? So the DPS can reach 6 point and become “Nobility” faster?
Depends on the DPS really. I’ll use an example with Anaxa:
1) Cerydra uses Skill on Anaxa. +1 Merit
2) Anaxa uses Basic ATK or Skill, +1 Merit
3) If Anaxa has applied QD on enemies, triggers Talent and uses Skill again, +1 Merit
4) Cerydra uses Ultimate, +2 Merit
5) Action Advance unit (Sunday, Bronya) uses their Skill on Anaxa
6) Anaxa uses Basic ATK or Skill again, +1 Merit
7) Nobility activates.
Feel free to correct if I got someting wrong.
there were rumors that she would synergize really well with phainon but atm I don’t really see it. the skill targets a teammate with a state/label that lasts for the entirety of the battle unless you reuse the skill on someone else. whenever you gain charges on it, the charges go to cerydra and not the targetted ally because she’s the one tallying the charges and not the ally. if it were the opposite whereas the charges went to the ally who is in that state, then phainon would’ve gotten 1 extra coreflame charge each time this thing gained a charged. that would’ve been really good for him but atm from what is written that doesn’t seem to be the case, unless I’m wrong and it works the way I had hoped it would’ve
Actually due to Phainon wanting to be targeted (rather than having benefits applied to him), in this case it doesn’t really matter who gets the charge. E.g., Ruan Mei/Tribbie skills don’t work (I think) despite applying benefits, as they target themselves; RM’s ult works though. His ideal teammate would have both skill and ult targeting him/the whole team and have energy regen somewhere.
The reason why she’d be good for Phainon is cause the “Military Merit” will persist into his ultimate and keep accumulating stacks during his ult even while Cerydra has left the field. Allowing you to get an extra “stardeath verdict”. Traditional turn advancers cant target Phainon during his ult obviously.
Also you’re wrong about how Phainon would gain extra charges, Phainon doesnt gain coreflames when he gains buffs from allies, but rather when he is targeted by an ability. I dont think Cerydra would replace Sunday+Bronya core in the standard Phainon team, but rather his 4th slot. So coreflames will be covered by your other supports still.
Does her coup de main work with THerta’s enhanced skill? i.e., does or does not the copied skill, which is performed first, weaken the second skill due to clearing interpretation? Does it consume inspiration? And will THerta gain energy from the copied skill?
She synergizes well with units using multiple BA or skills within one turn, ie Phainon, Archer, Anaxa. But even then, she is NOT a must have support for these units at all and is still niche to them.
To compensate her niche and her lack of support capabilities, they gave her personal damage, which is a recipe Hoyo does since a year now.
Her pull value is 7.5/10 if you have any Phainon, Archer or Anaxa, and 3/10 for the rest.
do u think shes good pull for archer? or should i just get e1 tribbie , i have guarantted ( skipping phainon)
I heard that Sparkle is a must for archer due to his skill point consumption. there are some gameplay leaks on youtube that play cerydra with archer. you could view them if that helps you decide.
Well given changes will be made to her kit. is not a bit to early to talk about pull value?
not extra turn but extra skill? Probably good for therta e2?
cerydra really need sunday to run properly. without him she is like t2 support
The 2nd video is at 2x speed.
When will people understand that sped up videos should never be the standard showcase?
2x speed mode is for hyperactive children, and for farming materials in the background while watching TV.
2x speed is not for normal gameplay and not for showcasing Animations!
Character animations look silly at 2x speed, it is unnatural and too fast to actually see and appreciate the details.
I am an old gamer, I grew up with Commodore 64 games, maybe that is why I enjoy these beautiful games now.
Just to Load a C64 game took 10 minutes! (Or even longer from Cassette Tapes!)
Is the current generation really this impatient that they cannot even enjoy video games if anything takes more than 5 minutes then it is automatically trash for them?
Paying with money in video games so “they do not have to play as much”?
Speeding up gameplay so “they do not have to play for so long”?
Stupidity on a whole new level.
sure lets get you to bed grandpa
You problably are the only one who is playing in x1 mode…
Boomer_loves_to_watch_paint_dry.txt
I agree that showcases shouldn’t be sped up, but like, chill dude.
It a default feature in the video game. You don’t have to pay for money to use the x2 speed. It a free feature. this is not fire emblem heroes, were they a feature like auto battle behind a pay wall.
Also there is valid reasons to speed things up. Which after seeing the animations for the 100th time. they kind of lose the appeal they have. making speed up more ideal.
why do you care so much about other people’s personal preferences lmao
I believe Video 2 is a way to showcase her Coup de Main mechanic. Nothing wrong.
Also, you say you’re an old gamer who grew up playing a Commodore 64 so I assume you’re around 45-55 years old. I hardly believe that to be true, but if it is, then I’m quite perplexed at how a game like this interests you as a person of that age.
Yeah i am surprise they would not get tired of seeing the character animations after awhile. Since they say 2 times speed is not for normal gameplay.
I think after awhile. 2 times speed might become the default for many players.
More so given anyone who been playing this game for awhile. Would know how few events we get anymore. Leading to there being a lack of content. Do story, event, wait for next event. then afk most of the patch. even if you take the story super slow. sooner or later it just going to turn into afk the game.
ANAXAGORAS BUFF (⸝⸝⸝ᵒ̴̶̷ᴗᵒ̴̶̷ꕤ)
also really vibe with the chess theme here
Wait…”When unit gains Nobility state, they gets an extra crit dmg for SKILL dmg”. Skill dmg alone? Not just all around basic and ultimate as well?
That is what it says
Congrats, Anaxa is the best dps in the game now
Besides that dead unit. Has less synergies than casuals have fingers. Model is chopped. Buffs are mid and underwhelming. Riddle me this: What’s the point of an extra skill when you can just get an extra turn? What’s the point of having “high amp” when you only buff skill? She has very niche usage, as a 4th slot for skill heavy units in 0 cycles, that’s about it
I don’t see her better than Sunday + Robin core.
I was hoping she’s like all around type like Tribbie or Sunday, but nope let’s make her a buffer for an atk scaler unit and only for Skill dmg user. Hp scaler mains kinda crying at corner right now lol
Oh, is this the same nerd who wrote under each new character that he’s unplayable? Would you stop writing your bullshit on this site and better go touch some weed, take a shower, and meet a girl?
Seriously dude, I even registered on the site to write this, lol
Living rent free? She’s the only character I’ve been looking forward to in months
Did you hear me say anything about Tribbie, Aglaea, Anaxa, Herta … etc
I’m only criticizing bad units. You can do what you like, just don’t complain HSR has a powercreep issue when you make bad choices. I also never said Cerydra is unplayable, just that her synergies are slim to none. Go listen to your paid hoyo CC who wants you to pull every character cuz it’s in their vested interest.
So people can’t say a game has a power creep issue. Due to rolling for characters in a game that wants you to roll for characters. In game who has a history of new character better then old in many cases.
No that bullshit. That is letting a company get away with bad choices. Also you know with how many content creators out there that hype up every unit. Saying this is resistance to power creep like Seele, oh to then go oh she got power creep the very next banner. Your going to blame people for making wrong choices, when there is so much conflicting info out there.
Rather then blaming the company for designing questionable kits or not properly balancing the game to ensure all characters if invested enough can clear end game. Here an idea, we put pressure on the devs to ensure all units are decent/good and can clear end game.
You know you just said alot of things about the character. without really comparing them to others. That and make people answer a question.
When you didn’;t even explain how the character is mid. How the buffs are underwhelming. you just said things and hope people get it. Of course people are going to disagree with you. When you say such vague things.
couldn’t agree more, I hope she has synergy with Feixiao but hoyo said NO!
Good thing the majority of good dps do mostly skill damage. The thing they should really change is the atk buff, I was hoping she’d work with Mydei to get double godslayer
Doubling a skill or giving an extra turn appear to be the same thing basically, but there are some core differences.
The main one being that doubling a skill wont consume an extra skill point. Sunday, Bronya and Sparkle have to rely on additional mechanics to stay SP positive/neutral. Cerydra on the other hand is SP positive even without bonus effects.
Secondly the value of your turn advance is dependent on your units speeds, if your main dps gets hit by a slow for example and ends up taking their turn right after Sunday instead of right before, then you’ll basically not gain any value from the advance. Cerydra’s bonus skill always utilizes its full value.
Lastly the turn advance can only be triggered when your support units can actually take a turn. Cerydra’s bonus skill will always trigger, even if Cerydra is CC’d or not currently on the field. And the bonus skill will even work on enhanced skills that run out after the turn has been taken.
Based on these differences Cerydra does have an advantage over turn advances for characters that are hard to speed tune for like Seele, use special resources on their skills like Hook, Jingliu, The Herta and Saber. Characters that are very skill point hungry and use multiple in a turn like Dan Heng IL or Acher. And lastly characters that would like to benefit from the Advance mid turn, like Phainon and Archer (maybe Moze if his stacks can go above 9)
Additionally the turn advance supports all have practically 0 damage share. Cerydra’s kit is built around her doing damage on her own. The only comparable unit is remembrance trailblazer. Cerydra you’ll build like a DPS and she’ll end up having comparable damage output to DPS characters. Which does give her a unique nieche against other supports
I really think Anaxa is bait here, he’s certainly best for Cerydra, but I dont think Cerydra will be best for him.
Well i think you got across your points better then the op here.
For i understand your point of view much better as to why they might be useful. Compare to the op saying they might not be useful.
another thing not mention specifically is the secondary resource cost. like herta`inspiration stacks not being needed for a second enhanced skill.
dunno if it works but that is also a skill activation. so it should charge cerydra by 2 when using the skill with noble. which fits with the cap of 8.
I think you misunderstood the role Cerydra will have in a team. She’s not better or worse than Sparkle/ Sunday etc. She specifically wants them in her team. She’ll replace your Robin or Tribbie, and whether you think her extra turn every once in a blue moon makes up for it, that’s up to you to decide
I’m obviously aware of the difference between advance and extra skill, I just critiqued it’s usefulness. In a vacuum it’s worse than an advance. Most people are going to be playing sustain, so we’re getting closer to that vacuum.
You listed many synergies, but they’re all kinda bad or outright don’t work. DHIL uses basic, not skill. Jingliu is HP scaling. Most of Saber’s damage is ult, you also can’t double her enhanced basic. The Herta is only relevant at E2 (is even nice granting 70% Action Advance), but I doubt she’ll be the best Herta can afford at that investment.
Archer seems like a good synergy, but it’s actually awful. Lightcone and E1 help ig, if you want to force it, but Archer already has great teammates. She isn’t better than Sparkle nor SilverWolf. Moreover, Archer spams skills. Adding just a mere one to an already barrage of arrows is meh. Anaxa has double skills (fast cycling + double value), Phainon uniquely likes to weave basics. Archer just preffers his mono quantum over her
I won’t comment on Seele and Hook cuz that’s ridiculous and reaching. Ultimately Cerydra’s amp for skills isn’t even that high. 1000~ atk and 72% only skill cdmg is awful by todays standards. When you expect a niche support you expect them to pull ahead hard and strong. I’m not sure Cerydra beats out Robin in amp, the fact they are sidegrades for their better teammates is sad
I didn’t mention Phainon and won’t. I’m not touching that. Their synergy is good. Whether Phainon is good or not is a different story.
I’m a harmony collector. And this is the first character I really wanna skip. because she has no use for my team whatsoever.. my first team main basic attack, my second team is HP based.
Her crit didn’t even scale from how many crits we gave her? it’s fixed?
Her crit rate is booted up by 100%. So you don’t need any crit for her special mode. But i’m not seeing where her crit is capped. Given well. She does seem to gain alot of crit damage from boosting attack but nothing related to her being unable to boost her own crit damage up.
Unless we are talking about the buff she gives. then well i tip my hat to you.
niche is not necessarily bad, I think that she is really good with the few synergies that she does have. plus, she’s future-proof for any upcoming characters that are skill-based, atk-scaling, crit dpses. if the amount of synergies is an issue, you could always pull on her rerun when she gets more synergies
fucking “riddle me this” 💀💀💀
