its easy to make him good without powercreept the meta.
just make him as nihility healer , even with small debuff, aslong he able to heal frequently+ cleanse.
he will busted with acheron e0/e1.
just replace ancient one roast & dot whatever is name. with def debuff even with 20/30%is more than enough.
as long he able to replace sustain slot.
It’s too late. Man is cooked. Easy skip.
just a thought, but do you think his healing wouldve been balanced if it scaled off 100 – 200% of his speed for each ally action? im also a firm believer that jiaoqiu shouldve had 40% general vuln and 10% ult vuln, to make him more universally applicable
Jiaoqiu really just wanted a direction, whereas now he’s kinda all over the place.
When it comes to the healing though, I’m firmly in the ‘NO’ faction.
Ever since Fu Xuan, sustains have had *something else* added to their kits in order to:
1. Keep them relevant to the meta
2. Tie them into specific team comps to get people to pull them for those teams
3. Keep you pulling for the next sustain because they aren’t just Bailu/Natasha v2
These buffs/debuffs provided are usually very small in terms of DPS capabilities (12% CR vs a harmony CD + DMG% + ATK% buffs, for example) but yet not negligible.
To make a reverse (buffs/debuffs with a little healing) would just make sustains harder to balance. PF as it is already has weaker enemies, even 100-200 healing per action could easily sustain a team in PF while also providing those debuffs. MoC has stronger enemies, but you can find a lot of videos of people using DPS + 3x Harmony without dying just by killing and/or breaking the enemies fast enough.
Hoyo would just be making it hard to sell the next Abundance/Preservation unit without making their buffs higher in comparison. It’s a risky play for them, both balance-wise and future sales-wise, and for balance’s sake I’m glad he doesn’t have any healing.
Hoyoverse to their 3rd destruction waifu: oh dear oh dear gorgeous
Hoyoverse to their first limited male nihility: you fucking donkey!
as they should.
Well, even though I love nihility characters, as they should
if his “Ashen Roast” counts as a DoT, since it can stack, does that mean he can get the full def ignore effect from the prisoner relic set by himself? or does it count “Ashen Roast” as one DoT effect?
the 4p prisoner set only counts individual debuff. In other words, a debuff that has multiple stacks only count as ‘1 debuff’ for the 4p prisoner set
Why did they nerf this guy to the pits of hell
Hoyoverse: *slaps male foxian’s tail* this bad boy can fit so many L’s
I was gonna get him since I have all of the other nihility but now it seems pointless unless I get e2 for my Kafka. Probably gonna get him if he is the first banner next patch otherwise it’s Yunli. I can get the LC as well cause I got close to pity on Acheron LC. Somehow I’ve not built any of the male Nihility chars so far except early Sampo for Kafka so fingers crossed for a last minute buff or dedicated relic set for him.
With the way things are. Feels like theyre going to make a relic and ornament that’ll fit his kit as debuffer.
When he was mid, I was literally going to pull him just because he’s nihility. I love the path and have all the nihility characters. But he’s so trash and useless now that I don’t think I’m gonna keep pulling if I lose the 50/50.
Can someone elighten me why so many people think he is “trash”?
Apparently because of how broken he was going to be. He was going to give even more damage amps than he does atm but along with that he had healing in his kit so you never even had to run a sustain with him in the team.
Afaik, his healing was never enough to sustain a team on his own, even before it was removed from his kit prior to the beta. It would’ve just been a nice bonus and made fights a bit comfier at most
He could sustain an Acheron team. Acheron does not need 3 to 5 turns to take down an enemy, esp with a very good team set up. He was meant to be as good as Fire MC not using taunt, well some teams could sustain with just Fire MC and this was without any damage buffs. Now imagine that + a 75% damage increase for your team. It would almost certainly be an easy 0 cycle in MoC for example.
People are so hung up about his old kit when we never had the hard numbers to begin with, other than a tip from leakers that he wasn’t enough of a replacement to dedicated sustains. And even that statement is up to interpretation because we’d never see any definitive gameplay of those old pre-beta leaks.
And frankly I’m doubtful his iteration as a DEF debuffer would’ve been that much stronger than he is now since attempting to keep up with Harmony supports means leaving in the dust the current Nihility debuffers.
If the topic here is “if Jiaoqiu had his healing remained is he adequate to sustain the whole team without a dedicated sustainer”, then it is a pretty boring one.
1. For obvious reasons his healing can’t be any close to a dedicated sustainer, or what’s the point of the sustainers? He either has limited healing or limited supporting power, he can’t master both.
2. A team can already sustain itself without a sustainer, only if you can kill everything fast, so if you say some minor healing is adequate because you can kill everything fast, then I would say zero healing is adequate for the same reason. Low healing is low healing, it doesn’t become high healing only because you can kill everything fast.
@Dazz Aephiex. As someone who does 0 cycles, sometimes it requires a few retries because one or two team mates get focused on instead of the damage being split across your team. The healing would have made these 0 cycles far more consistent. That’s what i meant.
@The Vizier I agree overall yea. I rly don’t think he’s that bad. The recent PF nerf hurts tho. From my numbers he’s an overall boost of around 50% to my team. Though i am going for E1/S1.
I sometimes try and see what I can do and I understand your point. Sometimes with a sustainer you can’t zero cycle, and without a sustainer you can’t survive. In this case if we had a unit who has 80% supporting power and 20% healing things can be easier. In my perspective, I don’t really mind it to take hundreds of retries to zero cycle. It isn’t something meant to be easy afterall.
Just zero-cycled Argenti boss in MoC 12 with Seele hypercarry. Sparkle is very tanky and endures many attacks, Robin is somewhat tanky and taking some damage is daijoubu, but Seele and Ting Yun are so frail.
wtf are you talking dude, JQ can’t heal.
Jiaoqiu’s early leaked kit was an AoE def shred debuffer plus some healing. If that kit came true then Jiaoqiu’s going to be very strong and his pull value is going to surpass even Sparkle and Robin.
However his healing was removed before the 2.4 beta starts and his def shred was replaced with vulnerability.
I’m glad that Hoyo made the decision to remove his healing and replace his def shred with vulnerability, or it would be a heavy powercreep rendering the sustainers worthless. I understand why people are dissapointed. His early kit was way more promising, sounds like some super universal support is coming, but he turned out not to be that great.
I know it sounds selfish, but I know I wouldn’t likely to be a fan of a pink-haired foxian dude and I don’t really want to taste that a certain super universal support is a character I’m not a fan of.
He could heal before, it got removed from his kit… Reading comprehension, learn it.
Doomposting. While Jiaoqiu isn’t as great as whatever people have been expected, he’s still a valuable pull to E0 Acheron owners, far from worthless.
His V0 kit was indeed stronger than his final kit. He had def shred instead of vulnerability, meaning him and Pela can deplete the enemies’ defense, giving a total of +115% damage increment, not to mention the other supporting power he may have. Now he has vulnerability, which is a rare kind of modifier, but in Jiaoqiu’s case def shred should have been better. Seems Hoyo doesn’t really want to make Acheron the undoubtable queen just now, which leads to their decision to nerf Jiaoqiu again and again, making him not so great but still leave him a valuable pull for E0 Acheron owners.
A year of out of control powercreep warped some people’s sense of balance so when an actually well-tuned character shows up, their whole world feels like a lie. Suddenly they notice the grass surrounding them on all sides and in desperation, they cry out to the heavens, begging pathetically for salvation, only to be met with silence, apathy and… reality.
V5 additional nerfs
When Jiaoqiu’s E1 DMG increase was nerfed from 48% to 40% in v4, it was also changed from an additive boost to an independent multiplier boost. That is, it changed from adding 48% to DMG Bonuses to multiplying the DMG by 1.4. In v5, it was switched back to an additive boost.
This is a further nerf to jiaoqiu on this V5.
Nah, there is no mean you buy 40% independant damage increment from an eidolon. It was simply a bug.
I was really excited when the lore confirms that he’s a healer. SO THE HEALER NIHILITY IS REAL!!!
…. only to get torn into oblivion
wait I replied wrong comment lol
