As much as I look forward to Hysilens, I do think there are some flaws in this kit. The EHR needed for max buff is too high, considering her base chance 100% already. Couple traces could easily be put together and have something else to truly buff DoT. Not saying that she doesn’t, but I think it could be better easily.
‘While Hysilens is on the field, the DoT dealt by ally targets becomes 124% of the original value.’
I’m wondering how this is implemented – reads like true damage without the shenanigans (if you were to do 100k, you’ll now do 124k, no questions asked), or increasing base multipliers (100%ATK DoT becomes 124% of ATK)
It’s probably like Skirk’s and Neuv’s passives, a base damage buff. Looks like there are no Shenhe-esque supports in HSR (maybe og Tingyun?) so far, so we don’t have to worry about multiplier shenanigans… yet.
Hysilens got Buffed (mostly).
Her E1 became Base Kit, that is a very important change. Awesome!
(We shall see if the Buffs she got will be kept through the rest of the Beta phases.)
Never seen you this slightly happier before, but at least we got another DoT detonation ability since Kafka, albeit much stronger.
Saw a comment a while back on how adding another DoT detonation character would make Kafka useless or something. Dunno who said it, but they said it. And look at now.
This change on Hysilens was amazing, I really hope they keep it or even maybe buff in Beta 4 and 5.
Can someone tell me if I am just reading this wrong because from my understanding: In Hysilens’s ult zone enemies take 80% phys DoT for for every dot that damages them. So if there are 8 different DoTs on an enemy they take 8 x 80% dmg, correct? And since this can be triggered during both enemy and ally’s turn Kafka should be able to trigger that DoT as well. That would mean with the zone active and 4 talent dots from Hysilens, 2 Shocks from Kafka and 1 wind sheer (Arcana) from BS, this would be 7 * 80% + 4 * 25% = 660% (740% with break dot) DoT from Hysilens alone, every time an enemy takes a turn/Kafka triggers them and Kafka can trigger them a lot more often now.
To me this sounds pretty good considering Hysilens has 100% uptime on her zone and reduces enemy def + vulnerability debuff
That is exactly my understanding.
that’s correct yea
how is she for acheron teams? I dont have jiaqou or E2 cause my luck is ass but I have cipher/sw. would replacing one of those two for hysilens be any worth it
She’s got 25% Def Shred and 20% vuln. Her debuff application on other ally attacks would be beneficial… if your other allies weren’t already doing the same thing. Maybe she’ll get Acheron’s ult up a smidge sooner since she’ll help sustain apply debuffs, but that’s not going to offset her weaker debuffs.
I don’t think she is worth it for acheron teams, maybe with eidolons but at that point make a dot team instead.
Hysilens could easily be OP, She could have easily save DoT.
HoYo decided not to do that.
Crit DoT Enabler? Nah, just normal DoT.
400% Bleed DoT like in DU Boon? Nah, just 25% Bleed DoT instead.
Players who think DoT is bad because this is a Turn Based Combat game have no idea what they are talking about.
DoT in HSR could be really OP.
HoYo doesn’t want to do that. Yet. Maybe never will.
>400% Bleed DoT like in DU Boon? Nah, just 25% Bleed DoT instead.
Need to re-read her kit bro. Every single DoT that goes off when her ult is up, triggers an 80% Bleed, with a cap of 8.
4 personal DoTs for a total of 100%
100%+(4×80%)=420% – we’re already higher than the 400% in DU.
580% with Kafka (E0S0) and BS…
I like her animations but i’m unsure if i’ll be pulling for her or not since i may not have a good team for her (started playing mid October 2024) and i’m mostly pulling for sustain/support characters right now.
If you like DoT and don’t care much about clearing challenges (MoC etc) just go for it. Your enjoyment is above meta, but if you want to be prepared for them, then i suggest at least someone like Kafka with her.
This is so disheartening. I really hope something comes in V2/V3 because atm she is nothing more than a BS side grade. You’re better of getting her LC for BS and calling it a day than spending 150 pulls to get someone who’s like not even 10% better overall. It’s even worse when the calcs say that triple DoT isn’t even better than double DoT with Robin/RM.
DoT waiting over a year for this while struggling to keep up only a few patch’s after BS release has got to be the saddest thing in the games history.
I don’t normally fall in line with the doomposting, but idk… this just makes me sad. So far the only real buff to DoT was Kafka’s buff this patch. Replacing BS/Robin/RM for Hysilens won’t even net you a single cycle upgrade and if it’s going to take over a year again for the next unit that may very well also be a side grade, DoT is permanently in the dirt.
Actually, you’re better off waiting for a BS rerun and getting her E1. As E1 BS is actually better than E0 Hysilens…
I hope this post ages badly, i really do. I was so looking forward to FINALLY building the DoT team that i’ve wanted since 1.X but rn it looks like yet another skip from me. How long has it been since a new unit failed to make it into the tier 0/0.5 category.
This comes after being hyped after first seeing her kit and numbers, only for it to swindle quickly after watching several showcases and seeing several calcs.
I do not understand why is HoYo keeping DoT in the dust.
Don’t they wanna sell multiple viable arctypes so players spend even more money, or the game attracts even more players by giving them more options?
Hysilens’ design and animations are really good.
Why spend so much money and time on a character if they gonna give her a Mid Kit?
Why is HoYo so bad at ballancing character’s power level in HSR?
They are either Broken OP, or Mid AF.
DoT has been in the dirt for so long, I had high hopes for Hysilens.
She was suppose to save DoT, not repeat past mistakes!
So at this point I belive this is 100% intentional from HoYo.
I just don’t understand why.
Sadly Hysilens is more a side grade than an actual upgrade to the dot team, if you already have Kafka/Swan/Robin(or Tribbie) she I’ll not replace the harmonies, specially if you already have E1 or those, she CAN replace Blackswan, but it’s not like insane difference tbh.
And like if you already have robin or tribbie at E0, maybe it would be even more worth to get an eidolon of those rather than pulling for hysilens, since they have more team options being very versatile for your account, as pulling for a very niche character (hysilens) and getting little value, (yes she/dot I’ll be very strong at it release, but in next patches…?)
If you have Kafka but no swan, then I think she would be a good upgrade to your account, and you likely wont need to pull swan anymore.
If there is one thing I love, its that the doom posters haven’t changed. Still going about their daily business of heavily downplaying a character for no good reason
And sadly it will never change.
I am a huge DoT fan, and some are deserved. Hysilens is really not the DoT gamechanger as many expected, including myself. I am sure she will help elevate DoT in general, but it will not make it crazy good. How long has it been since DoT got amazing supports/dps, that you went “we are so back”? Just look at any other path and the units they got so far, compare the performance. There is no reason for one path to perform underwhelming and have to put X4 the effort other paths do, while rest get amazing niche/universal units to carry them to next height. Let’s not cope and be realistic for once, I am so sick of hearing “use RM”, no I want a proper DoT unit to finally break the DoT ceiling and not be hyper balanced for once.
