Story
| Title | Text |
| Character Details | The former chief representative of the Whistling Flames merchant guild in the Sky-Faring Commission who nearly lost her life in a strange and catastrophic incident on her return journey. Her face, name, and identity were stolen by the one who orchestrated it all. Yet, by a twist of fate, a sliver of hope remained, and from the aftermath of the Destruction, she reclaimed her life. Now, she goes by the name "Fugue." Whether it be the bitterness of never returning home or the allure of wandering through the starry seas that drives her, one thing is certain — she has risen once more and set out on her path anew. |
| Character Story: Part I | The jade bracelet that once shielded her lay shattered, the blessing bell had tumbled into the mud, and the vibrantly adorned folding fan had crumbled to ashes. She could only watch as the ghostly fire of darkness consumed everything she had ever possessed — reducing all of it to flame and ruin. For a moment, she only felt regret that she remained just one step behind life. "I just sealed a major deal with that traveling merchant... such a wasted opportunity..." "All that effort for this well-maintained tail, now reduced to nothing..." "Even my promise to bring gifts to everyone... will now be unfulfilled..." A thousand thoughts raced through her mind, but her body remained still, motionless, as tears quietly gathered in the corners of her eyes. Memories flickered and dimmed like a dying candlelight. "How much I wish to see Madam Yukong soaring into the sky with the bow I bought for her... It's what she longed for most..." "Yanming... From now on, the Xianzhou Merchant Guild will have to depend on him..." "I finally found Mengming's tea seed... she'll be overjoyed..." "And Yancui... It's time to get a new knife for her..." A teardrop slid down her cheek, evaporating before it ever touched the ground. Her vision was gradually engulfed by darkness, and she could no longer make out the path of the Xianzhou ship. "I had hoped to journey deeper into the skies, but in the end, I don't even know who my enemy is... How could I be at peace with that...?" Across the universe, oceans of lives fade away with every passing minute and every fleeting second. Before the presence of the immense power wielded by the Pathstriders, mortals are but specks of dust, carried aimlessly by the wind and waves. "However, because of that, this is a 'choice' for her, and a risky opportunity for the rest of us..." — This is a conversation that took place much later between a traveling merchant and a genius. * Unlocked at Character Level |
| Character Story: Part II | The young girl's fragile consciousness drifts through the darkness. Ahead lies an endless night, while behind her, the path home feels just within reach. She steps back into familiar ground, where bustling lanterns glow and the voices of old friends call to her from afar, urging her to return to her trade as a merchant. Before her, black mist creeps in, turning the once lively market instantly into rotting wood and dead ash. She steps back again, and the deck of the starskiff appears beneath her feet. She longs to ride the wind upward, but a strange astral body looms in the sky, and the people she once knew become monsters, raising swords against one another. She wishes to be as articulate as before, but now, facing monstrous forms before her, not a single sound escapes her lips. "I'll just have to move forward," she whispers to herself. "But how?" She asks herself. "Raise your hand." A cold voice echoes from afar. She lowers her gaze, eyes tracing the scar that pierces her palm. The fan still rests in her hand, though she remembers it turning ashen white in the fire. Yet here it is — whole again in her hand. The black mist surges toward her once more. "Go forward." She lifts her hand, and the wound that pierces her palm begins to glow. The light cut through the darkness but also illuminates herself. "Go forward." She raises the fan — Once a source of leisurely comfort, the fan now threatens to burst forth with flames. The black mist stretches endlessly, but the more she moves forward, the more the light intensifies. "Go forward." That cold voice is growing clearer. "Don't look back." She runs ahead. "I haven't seen enough of the countless worlds in the starry seas..." Behind her, five fluffy tails completely unfurl, igniting into fiery flames that cast light into the long night that ensnares her. The laboratory. The young girl's fingertips tremble slightly as a crystal-clear teardrop slips down the corner of her eye. The aloof scientist peers into the cabin, and her expression shifts at long last. "Congratulations on 'choosing' the world on this side." * Unlocked at Character Level |
| Character Story: Part III | "Awakening is only the first step. The scars of Destruction still affect you, and you must learn to familiarize yourself with this new body swiftly to harness its power." Day after day, she follows the scientist's instructions, pairing her dance with the strange pastries. She begins to heal at a pace visible to the naked eye. Yet, with each passing day, her doubt grows stronger. She waits anxiously for news from the Xianzhou. After what feels like an eternity, Ruan Mei delivers the grim confirmation about the Stellaron calamity — The Emanator known as Phantylia had infiltrated the Xianzhou with her guise, unleashing calamity and poisoning the living. "Fortunately, the Astral Express and the Xianzhou joined forces and defeated Phantylia before any serious repercussions." She listens to "her" story in a daze, feeling as if it were absurd and unreal. "So she not only took my life but also a part of my time... I should never return to the Luofu with this face and encounter the Chromatic Echelon..." "Phantylia's 'Destruction' of you has never ceased. Although you have temporarily overcome the power of Destruction in your body, her torment of your will has only just begun." There is a subtle sigh hidden within that icy voice. "I don't understand — why me?" "It's simply a roll of fate's dice, and it landed on you." "...So now my fate is entwined with theirs." "I was entrusted only to save you. What happens after you return to the Luofu is entirely up to you." "But in any case, I'm already a pawn in the game of these powerful players, aren't I?" "Undeniably so." She remains silent for a long time, lost in thought. "Business is a two-way traffic, but since I am no longer the same as before, do I still have a choice?" Ruan Mei meets the young girl's gaze and shakes her head. "I don't know. That is your 'choice,' and only 'you' can make it." * Unlocked at Character Level |
| Character Story: Part IV | Penacony remains vibrant after the storm. That gilded metropolis, a paradise of luxurious and indulgent commerce, is a destination she had always longed to explore. "You're a Dreamchaser too, aren't you? I don't see many people dressed like you." An outlander in hunter's garb approaches her before she realizes it. "Of course, I too am one. Don't let my appearance fool you. One day, I'm going to buy Clock Studios! What about you?" "In that case, you can also consider me as some sort of a Dreamchaser..." "I've always imagined roaming the starry seas, traveling to different worlds, and establishing trade everywhere. Unfortunately..." She falls silent and the outlander nods thoughtfully, raising the SoulGlad in her honor. After gulping down the can of SoulGlad, he turns to leave. The road home is already long, yet she chooses to pause here. The future holds many paths, and her longing is about more than simply returning home. "Care for some SoulGlad, my lady?" She turns her head toward a vendor pushing a cart. "... Judging by your attire, you must be from the Xianzhou Luofu. I traveled there with my boss many years ago, and I still remember the massive ship and vibrant atmosphere." "When we visited the Whistling Flames merchant guild, the messenger who received us, Miss Tingyun, looked rather like you. I wonder if you know her..." "Ma'am, ma'am, are you listening?" She gazes at Penacony's starry sky. People are coming and going in the distance yet unseen by her. "Apologies, I was just contemplating a "major deal" that could leverage a small advantage to move giants — a venture with immense returns, but fraught with perils...." "Are you hesitating?" She smiles. "Yes, I have hesitated... but I've finally made up my mind." "If I can dazzle those powerful figures upon my entrance, then that would count as having journeyed to the farthest reaches of the sky." * Unlocked at Character Level |

320 responses to “Fugue”
I’ve got the following:
-Firefly E2S1
-Ruan Mei E2S1
-Gallagher E6 (‘What is Real’ S5)
-HMC E6 (‘Memories of the Past’ S5)
Which unit should I replace with E1S1 Fugue?
firefly
Sustain could be optional with firefly E2, so Gallagher
Math never lies. You can try yourselves when she’s out. And that Ruan Mei simp pfp will have a broken face.
Math doesn’t lie… if you get it right
Funniest thing is i know people who have tried her, and agree that either a budget sustain gets replaced (Gall or E0 Lingsha.) or HMC. RM is still untouchable.
Even if you did hit harder per attack. Due to RM allowing for 50% longer break timing, the overall damage over the entire break duration is still way better with her over HMC. But the damage is actually pretty relative per attack.
I am so right. Love using HMC over RM and enemies instantly recovering from break. Meanwhile when i break with RM on my team the enemy never recovers and it’s GG. Who’d have thought. The fact they are not hear instead of me just shows lmao.
• HMC provides;
– Super Break
– big Break Effect (~33%+30%+35% / no Relic set included)
– Delay
• Ruan Mei provides;
– Weakness Break Efficiency (50%)
– small Break Effect (20% / no Relic set included)
– small Speed
– RES PEN (Noted: similar to Def Reduction (not the same but can be compared))
– Delay
– Bonus Damage (useless)
• Fugue
– Super Break
– Weakness Break Efficiency (50%)
– medium Break Effect (30%) for 1 unit
– medium Break Effect (6%+12%+6%+12%) for the entire team
– Def Reduction
– Delay
Roughly calculation:
• HMC + Ruan Mei;
– Super Break x Weakness Break Efficiency: 4 characters x 1.5 = 6x
– Break Effect = 33%+30%+35%+20% = 118%
– Others: (Delay + Delay) + small Speed + [RES PEN]
– Unique buff: small Speed
• HMC + Fugue
– 2 x (Super Break) x Weakness Break Efficiency: 2 x (4 characters) x 1.5 = 12x
– Break Effect
– 33%+30%+35%+30%+6%+12%+6%+12% = 164% for main DPS
– 33%+30%+35%+6%+12%+6%+12% = 134% for others
– Others: (Delay + Delay) + [Def Reduction]
– Unique buff: None
• Ruan Mei + Fugue
– Super Break x (Weakness Break Efficiency + Weakness Break Efficiency) = 4 characters x 2 = 8x
– Break Effect
– 30%+6%+12%+6%+12%+20% = 86% for main DPS
– 6%+12%+6%+12%+20% = 56% for others
– Others: (Delay + Delay) + small Speed + [RES PEN] + Def Reduction
– Unique buff: small Speed + Def Reduction
Conclusion;
• 1st: HMC + Fugue
– Provides the most team damage with Highest stack from Super Break and Weakness Break Efficiency (12x Super Break Damage)
– Highest Break Effect buff so it can be compensated with the lack of excess buff like small Speed and RES PEN.
• 2nd: Ruan Mei + Fugue
– Provide 8x Super Break Damage
– Lowest Break Effect buff but can be compensated with the excess buff like small Speed and RES PEN.
– Can break mobs fastest. If you think it’s not already fast enough, this combo will make it faster.
***Noted: I would say Break Effect/small Speed/RES PEN should be neutral when we compare 1st and 2nd since 1st has high Break Effect and 2nd has excess buff. So just judge from Super Break Damage vs How fast you can break. 1st can provide more overall damage. 2nd can break faster but less damage. In my opinion, Firefly can break fast enough already.***
• 3rd: HMC + Ruan Mei
– Provide only 6x Super Break Damage
– Medium Break Effect with excess small Speed and RES PEN.
Bonus:
• Firefly can break her main target touchness 90 units and 45 units for the adjacent enemies. (With her own buff = 135 and 67.5)
– Each of this provide 1 stack (for easier understanding)
– Fugue
– Fugue E1
– Ruan Mei
– Firefly E6
– 1 stack: 180/90
– 2 stacks: 225/112.5
– 3 stacks: 270/135
– 4 stacks: 315/157.5 (Only possible with Firefly E6)
• Most bosses (the middle ones) have touchness between 115-172 (mostly 120)
• Most minions (the side ones) have touchness between 83-118 (mostly 100)
• So if you have both Ruan Mei and Fugue, you can break 3 minions at once with just 1 attack. But if you plan to pull Fugue E1, there is no need for Ruan Mei to be in the team anymore. That 270/135 isn’t that useful. The threshold is only at 2 stacks. While 270/135 seems to be useful since you can break some bosses being adjacent units, it’s not. In the end, we pick them as the middle target for more damage. And if you want Ruan Mei + Fugue E1, the overall damage is still lower than HMC + Fugue E1.
• I recommend Ruan Mei + Fugue if you are E0 collector. This duo can break adjacent units with 1 attack.
• I recommend HMC + Fugue if you aim to pull Fugue E1. This is the highest damage and utility possible.
• I don’t have Boothill or Rappa though.
• For those who say “Fugue replaces HMC so he can go Resemblance”, I think it’s more like “Fugue replaces Ruan Mei so she can be put in another team”.
I mostly agree, except Fugue doesn’t provide WBE without e1 so your initial and bonus calculations are wrong.
You’re a foolish one if you thinking Fugue is for buffing Firefly.
Fugue is for buffing Lingsha, so she can deal AoE Toughness Reduction like Rappa.
So Firefly just simply finish the job.
All your math calculations is completely wrong if in the beginning you’re wrong.
Let me said this again, Fugue is not for your DPS’s, Fugue is for your Lingsha.
now, repeat after me.
Sir, Yes Sir! o7
So many mistakes…
“Fugue: Weakness Break Efficiency (50%)” – It’s not the same as Ruan Mei. Ruan Mei INCREASES break efficiency, but Fugue not – she allows you to ignore any vulnerabilities with 50% efficiency, it’s not the same…
“medium Break Effect (30%) for 1 unit” – it’s not “for 1 unit”, it’s ONLY for Fugue…
“medium Break Effect (6%+12%+6%+12%) for the entire team” – it’s NOT for the entire team, it’s for all teammates except Fugue…
If Dazz was here, he would’ve pummeled your paragraph-laden conjecture to the ground.
Has anyone ever consider putting Fugue + HMC together in a team instead? Because double super Break dmg instances from HMC and Fugue is no joke at all.
It’d result in a lot of super break dmg but you’re either giving up the sustain or Ruan Mei for it unless you go for super break Lingsha with triple support
Tell me what’s better, double super break aka 200% superbreak damage. Or 120% damage buff on 1 super break aka 220% superbreak damage?
Where do you get 120% buff from?
Ruan Mei who HMC would have to be in place off if you still planned on running a sustain. If you replace the sustain as well then it’s not so bad unless ofc you have a more invested sustain like E1 Lingsha who absolutely should not be replaced due to not only the extra damage she gives Firefly but because of the damage she does herself.
Sorry, accidentally clicked report instead of a reply, my bad. Still can’t see how she provides 120% buff to superbreak damage. Her WBE and RES PEN are good but nowhere near enough. HMC+Fugue is 260% SB in solo scenario. RM+Fugue is closer to 150-180%
I kinda count her def red from her Eidolon since i have it. But RM offers far more than just a damage buff. Much longer break duration and break speed for example.
HMC+Fugue delay is comparable i think. It’s 30%+15% and doubles by breaking twice. And with eidolons and pearls on Fugue, team already has 96% DEF reduction without Ruan Mei. I have E2S1 FF, E1S1 Lingsha, E1S1 Ruan Mei and i plan to get E1 Fugue. Team with RM will break slightly faster, but with HMC will have MUCH more damage.
It’s really not MUCH more damage at all tho lol… I’ve watched clips of both teams and the damage is literally comparable.
Set is 10% def red for break or 25% def red for super break, Firefly E1 is 15% def red, Lingsha is 20% def red with 18% from Fugue which comes to 63% def red for break and 78% for super break. Where are you getting 96% from without RM?
Wait oh right the 4* LC. Well that would be pretty nice for f2p but from the sounds of it you’re not f2p. Fugue’s LC is better than it for damage amp. So getting that and using RM is way better and would provide more damage than HMC would with faster break and longer delay.
I am f2p, just lucky and strategic about pulls but that is beside the point. Funnily enough with my investment 4* LC actually gives more total damage amp than 5*.
S1 Lingsha combined with S1 FF already gives total 87% break vuln (24% FF LC + 20 % her ult + 25% Linghs’s ult + 18% Lingsha LC. In this scenario DEF shred from 78 to 94 (miscalculated previously) is more damage amp than vuln 124% (106 in some cases).
Without them yes, Fugue LC is preferable.
Not if you have RM E1 along with it tho lol.
Def red of 98% AND break damage vuln of 124%. Plus if you go that LC you lose all the beak effect of the LC which tbh Fugie kinda needs if you want to reach her minimum requirement.
HMC also does nothing for normal break which is actually stronger than super break and you get to break twice per enemy now. She’s coming really soon so there is no real point talking about this anymore. We’;ll see after she’s out but i think you’re going to be surprised just how much better the Firefly, Fugue, RM and Lingsha team feels compared to the Firefly, Fugue HMC and Lingsha team feels. The delay is much better, way better than you’re giving it credit for. You can literally test this out right now. Go Firefly, HMC, Lingsha a 3 person team then go Firefly, RM, Lingsha. Now ofc you won’t have any damage but just see how much longer the enemies stay broken for. It’s literally over 50% longer. It will be the same with Fugue. The amount of damage you’ll do per break with each team is very different.
i rate-off fucking sundae, so i’m gonna go for her. what’s best f2p lc? solihealing? but she doesnt do any dot DMG right?
The LC with Luka’s face on it is a good 4* option if you have it
S5 Solitary Healing if you want that stat stick
Right yeah his face that’s what I was looking at on that light cone
if i can achieve >=250BE then i stick with Luka LC, if not then Herta LC is the best one.
a character with immense potential like jiaoque wonder why hoyo hates foxians and have them somehow hanging with skill set that not too shabby but not very satisfying either.
for one the ult and enhanced basic attack really need some work :
1. ults too bland, has lower damage multiper then some aoe ult and it’s rainbow break isn’t as relevant for her imo, could have added action delay like welt, just more def red like pela or have it restore cloudflame luster after it reaches 0 or smthg
2. enhanced basic attack ain’t doing anything extra there maybe an effect like hanya skill, vulnerability or speed red could work
as I mentioned before her skill set is not bad but it does fell like it’s deliberately made not as good as it can be
I assume her ult and enhanced basic are mainly threre to do superbreak damage.
Why do you believe every single part of her kit has to include a buff or debuff ?
fugue just seems to be an alternate htb not a distinct upgrade, kinda similar to bronya-sunday or clara-yunli.
also nihility doesn’t have very great set of lc f2p compared to harmony also normally u wouldn’t build her as main dps so u can’t count on her to deal a lot of super break like DPS aven, it’s possibly but not always feasible
I feel like the fault lies in the way they make harmony MC’s kit. They made their kit to be so good, to the point that fugue, a limited 5*, is mostly a sidegrade to them. Look at her performance in firefly team! Disappointing.
Now her value as a whole relies heavily on her passive exo toughness. Have a team thar plays around weakness break? shes a must pull. Not? skip
Everyone is freaking sleeping on that ult, because its text isn’t flash, but there’s a number everyone is ignoring: The fact that the ult has *60 freaking base toughness* reduction, as an *AoE.* Xueyi’s ult is 40, and single target. That’s *huge.* Not to mention her Enhanced Basic has the same toughness reduction as freaking Firefly’s enhanced skill. Y’all a freaking sleeping on someone who is going to be a monster in break teams.
Emm no… it does not. You’re looking at the in game numbers for those chars while looking at honeyhunter for Fugue. Honeyhunter triples the numbers that are used in game. In reality Fugue’s enhanced normal deals 10/5 on blast and 20 on ult. Just look at Xueyi and Firefly on this site. You will see 120 for Xueyi and 90/45 on Firefly’s enhanced skill.
How big is an increase compare to HMC? And does an E2S1 Ruan Mei diminishes her value or raises it? I’m not sure if I should pull for her, given that we’ll get rememberance MC (if he ends up being a good unit but he’ll surely be) :0
No one answering your question makes me thing that we are all still uncertain of Fugue’s power
Stronger than HMC, the increase is situational because Rappa and Boothill benefit from eco-toughness a LOT more than Firefly (Boothill stacks trickshot faster and Rappa gets more charge stacks/energy against elites, Firefly doesn’t get anything special)
Ruan Mei E1 boosts Fugue’s value because of stacking def shred, E2 doesn’t interact with anything Fugue does and S1 gives a tiny bit more energy
DAAAAAAAAAAAAAT wrooong you have to consider having Firefly is also having E2 of her why would anyone not spend on eidolons?E2 is the best eidolon in the game right now and Firefly having exo toughness means she will never miss the enchanced skill resets while amping the damage up twice the crazy.Benefits more than you think.
I guess if you’re here you must be conflicted between whether to summon her or not,Here’s my take:
-It can be Ruan Mei situation but we don’t know how much future proof sunday will be given not every unit is gonna be summon specific since they tend to bring 2-3 new mechanics every big patch 2.0-2.2 being dot proof 2.3 to 2.7 break proof while old teams still being viable in the game
-You gotta take a pointer if you realized Ruan Mei isn’t the only harmony unit.Robin came after her and she does help more to the most of the units and them both coming later like 1.6 – 2.2
-Fugue is a must because trust on me on this you’ll need Rememberance Main Character and he/she has been useful than their previous predecessors.
-Fugue is a insta upgrade over HMC and a bit of a personal opinion myself but i never liked HMC’s goofy dance and voiceline repeating over and over again doing nothing they have zero synergy apart from talent and eidolons and most of the time you’re wasting their skills on non type enemies. With Fugue every break and toughness will be consistent and most importantly it’s pleasing to the eye i mean who wouldn’t like HSR Ahri right 🙂
Just don’t forget to prepare and pull for eidolons at least E1 because if you don’t you’re gonna have regrets later.Pulling a character and building just about enough materials and commitment is enough to carry you whole patches even so game is getting powercreepered. She’s unique and there will be plenty Sunday like harmony units for specific teams or not will be there.Worst scenario you can pull with a more clear mind on a rerun it wont take long if you have patience since nothing is changing on this game you’re just pulling for characters that take dozens of time to build is all.
does cloudflame luster regenerate after hitting 0 and can it be reduced regardless of the enemy weakness
It should regen when they recover from break and yes any type can reduce it
Is Fugue actually also a good character in team with JING YUAN + SUNDAY + FLEXIBLE/SUSTAIN?
I am just wondering, her also being a kind of hypercarry support with her skill, actually could make JY and his LL become even more universal and versatile with the ignore toughness and reduce DEF buff/debuff.
probably not, fugue and sunday buff on different axis that don’t help each other. Sunday buffs crit for one character (and their pets). Fugue buffa break, which can’t crit.
Ehhh… sorta? Jing Yuan won’t be dealinga a ton of break damage, though, so most of her kit is lost. If you really want defense drops, Pela would be a much better choice.
The same question, but I wonder if Argenti works as well. Huohuo and Sunday can work to regen Argenti’s energy and Fugue can enable Argenti’s Toughness reduction.
Theres many issues using fugue with jingyuan. For starters jingyuan is erudition, and his toughness dmg are low (10 on BA & skill, 20 on ult). Since fugue skill buff only gives 50% all type toughness ignore his toughness dmg would be even lower for non lightning weak enemies. Another issue is that the def shred is only 18%, which is negligible unless you have E1 sunday, and even then pela would be better in this department.
so yeah… jingyuan with fugue could works, but most likely perform suboptimal. I could see it viable in PF since mobs only has 10-30 toughness bar. Other than that, I dont think fugue adds anything of value to jingyuan
i want fugue, I want the herta, i want new path girl. but as husbando collector I have to be strong😂
