Character Details | The former chief representative of the Whistling Flames merchant guild in the Sky-Faring Commission who nearly lost her life in a strange and catastrophic incident on her return journey. Her face, name, and identity were stolen by the one who orchestrated it all. Yet, by a twist of fate, a sliver of hope remained, and from the aftermath of the Destruction, she reclaimed her life. Now, she goes by the name "Fugue." Whether it be the bitterness of never returning home or the allure of wandering through the starry seas that drives her, one thing is certain — she has risen once more and set out on her path anew. |
Character Story: Part I | The jade bracelet that once shielded her lay shattered, the blessing bell had tumbled into the mud, and the vibrantly adorned folding fan had crumbled to ashes. She could only watch as the ghostly fire of darkness consumed everything she had ever possessed — reducing all of it to flame and ruin. For a moment, she only felt regret that she remained just one step behind life. "I just sealed a major deal with that traveling merchant... such a wasted opportunity..." "All that effort for this well-maintained tail, now reduced to nothing..." "Even my promise to bring gifts to everyone... will now be unfulfilled..." A thousand thoughts raced through her mind, but her body remained still, motionless, as tears quietly gathered in the corners of her eyes. Memories flickered and dimmed like a dying candlelight. "How much I wish to see Madam Yukong soaring into the sky with the bow I bought for her... It's what she longed for most..." "Yanming... From now on, the Xianzhou Merchant Guild will have to depend on him..." "I finally found Mengming's tea seed... she'll be overjoyed..." "And Yancui... It's time to get a new knife for her..." A teardrop slid down her cheek, evaporating before it ever touched the ground. Her vision was gradually engulfed by darkness, and she could no longer make out the path of the Xianzhou ship. "I had hoped to journey deeper into the skies, but in the end, I don't even know who my enemy is... How could I be at peace with that...?" Across the universe, oceans of lives fade away with every passing minute and every fleeting second. Before the presence of the immense power wielded by the Pathstriders, mortals are but specks of dust, carried aimlessly by the wind and waves. "However, because of that, this is a 'choice' for her, and a risky opportunity for the rest of us..." — This is a conversation that took place much later between a traveling merchant and a genius. * Unlocked at Character Level |
Character Story: Part II | The young girl's fragile consciousness drifts through the darkness. Ahead lies an endless night, while behind her, the path home feels just within reach. She steps back into familiar ground, where bustling lanterns glow and the voices of old friends call to her from afar, urging her to return to her trade as a merchant. Before her, black mist creeps in, turning the once lively market instantly into rotting wood and dead ash. She steps back again, and the deck of the starskiff appears beneath her feet. She longs to ride the wind upward, but a strange astral body looms in the sky, and the people she once knew become monsters, raising swords against one another. She wishes to be as articulate as before, but now, facing monstrous forms before her, not a single sound escapes her lips. "I'll just have to move forward," she whispers to herself. "But how?" She asks herself. "Raise your hand." A cold voice echoes from afar. She lowers her gaze, eyes tracing the scar that pierces her palm. The fan still rests in her hand, though she remembers it turning ashen white in the fire. Yet here it is — whole again in her hand. The black mist surges toward her once more. "Go forward." She lifts her hand, and the wound that pierces her palm begins to glow. The light cut through the darkness but also illuminates herself. "Go forward." She raises the fan — Once a source of leisurely comfort, the fan now threatens to burst forth with flames. The black mist stretches endlessly, but the more she moves forward, the more the light intensifies. "Go forward." That cold voice is growing clearer. "Don't look back." She runs ahead. "I haven't seen enough of the countless worlds in the starry seas..." Behind her, five fluffy tails completely unfurl, igniting into fiery flames that cast light into the long night that ensnares her. The laboratory. The young girl's fingertips tremble slightly as a crystal-clear teardrop slips down the corner of her eye. The aloof scientist peers into the cabin, and her expression shifts at long last. "Congratulations on 'choosing' the world on this side." * Unlocked at Character Level |
Character Story: Part III | "Awakening is only the first step. The scars of Destruction still affect you, and you must learn to familiarize yourself with this new body swiftly to harness its power." Day after day, she follows the scientist's instructions, pairing her dance with the strange pastries. She begins to heal at a pace visible to the naked eye. Yet, with each passing day, her doubt grows stronger. She waits anxiously for news from the Xianzhou. After what feels like an eternity, Ruan Mei delivers the grim confirmation about the Stellaron calamity — The Emanator known as Phantylia had infiltrated the Xianzhou with her guise, unleashing calamity and poisoning the living. "Fortunately, the Astral Express and the Xianzhou joined forces and defeated Phantylia before any serious repercussions." She listens to "her" story in a daze, feeling as if it were absurd and unreal. "So she not only took my life but also a part of my time... I should never return to the Luofu with this face and encounter the Chromatic Echelon..." "Phantylia's 'Destruction' of you has never ceased. Although you have temporarily overcome the power of Destruction in your body, her torment of your will has only just begun." There is a subtle sigh hidden within that icy voice. "I don't understand — why me?" "It's simply a roll of fate's dice, and it landed on you." "...So now my fate is entwined with theirs." "I was entrusted only to save you. What happens after you return to the Luofu is entirely up to you." "But in any case, I'm already a pawn in the game of these powerful players, aren't I?" "Undeniably so." She remains silent for a long time, lost in thought. "Business is a two-way traffic, but since I am no longer the same as before, do I still have a choice?" Ruan Mei meets the young girl's gaze and shakes her head. "I don't know. That is your 'choice,' and only 'you' can make it." * Unlocked at Character Level |
Character Story: Part IV | Penacony remains vibrant after the storm. That gilded metropolis, a paradise of luxurious and indulgent commerce, is a destination she had always longed to explore. "You're a Dreamchaser too, aren't you? I don't see many people dressed like you." An outlander in hunter's garb approaches her before she realizes it. "Of course, I too am one. Don't let my appearance fool you. One day, I'm going to buy Clock Studios! What about you?" "In that case, you can also consider me as some sort of a Dreamchaser..." "I've always imagined roaming the starry seas, traveling to different worlds, and establishing trade everywhere. Unfortunately..." She falls silent and the outlander nods thoughtfully, raising the SoulGlad in her honor. After gulping down the can of SoulGlad, he turns to leave. The road home is already long, yet she chooses to pause here. The future holds many paths, and her longing is about more than simply returning home. "Care for some SoulGlad, my lady?" She turns her head toward a vendor pushing a cart. "... Judging by your attire, you must be from the Xianzhou Luofu. I traveled there with my boss many years ago, and I still remember the massive ship and vibrant atmosphere." "When we visited the Whistling Flames merchant guild, the messenger who received us, Miss Tingyun, looked rather like you. I wonder if you know her..." "Ma'am, ma'am, are you listening?" She gazes at Penacony's starry sky. People are coming and going in the distance yet unseen by her. "Apologies, I was just contemplating a "major deal" that could leverage a small advantage to move giants — a venture with immense returns, but fraught with perils...." "Are you hesitating?" She smiles. "Yes, I have hesitated... but I've finally made up my mind." "If I can dazzle those powerful figures upon my entrance, then that would count as having journeyed to the farthest reaches of the sky." * Unlocked at Character Level |
320 responses to “Fugue”
Can anyone think of a reliable way to 3 turn her ult at 130 cost?
As far as I can calculate, without outside help (such as energy from Abundance units) it seems basically impossible to achieve that within her own build at E0.
The only semi-reliable way I have found is using Tutorial Mission, 124.4% energy, Meteor 4 piece, but it still has 2 variable conditions that you can quite easily miss.
– the cycle follows: ult -> skill -> basic -> basic -> ult.
5+8 -> 30 -> (20+8)*2 = 99
99 + 3 + 3 (two procs of Meteor 4pc) = 105
105*124.4% = 130.62 energy
The issue is it requires Fugue to:
1. hit an enemy with def down with all 3 of her offensive attacks (ult, and 2 basics) which, as it’s reliant on another ally to apply the def down – is unreliable, as it’s possible for all the debuffed enemies to die before Fugue’s turn.
2. Fugue herself needs to break 2 enemies within that 3 turn cycle for the Meteor 4pc procs (which is slightly more likely than usual due to her Exo toughness mechanic, but it’s still unreliable.)
The energy cost reduction is huge, but it just feels like we went from 5-6 turn ult rotations to having the ability to reliably 4 turn WITH energy investment, which still isn’t great considering what her ult does. Maybe her basic attacks make up for it more than we think? not sure~
at e0, it doesn’t seem worth the effort. all her ult does is damage (before e2 anyway), and that’s going to come from her Break Effect stat anyway. I’d rather have the 100 BE from a break Rope and Forge of Kopali Lantern than the energy rope and energy set you seem to be using in your calcs.
It doesn’t seem worh doing to me. Remember that all Fugue’s ult does (before E2, but that’s also a big source of Energy for her…) is damage, and all that damage is through break and superbreak (it might as well not have the atk scaling and just say “does 60 toughness damage to all enemies”). You’re giving up all the “scaling stat” you’d get from a Break rope, the forge planar set, a BE lightcone (even just Solitary Healing) and the def ignore from the iron cavalry 4 piece to nuke a little more often instead. The tradeoff doesn’t seem worth it. You’re better off with the much bigger nuke.
It’s not like her ult is giving buffs that you want uptime on.
god damnit, it kept the first one after all. took forever to get looked at and approved.
if I put Fugue and HMC in the same team does the effect of Fugue talent and HMC ult stacked or one of them override the other?
It stacks additively. But it’s not as good as you’re thinking it to be. Think of it like this.
HMC SB – 150k damage bonus on top of everything else.
Fugue SB – 150k damage bonus on top of everything else.
The thing is, RM and Lingsha have buffs that stack multiplicatively. RM at E1 fort example is a 2x buff for SB damage. What this means is.
HMC + Fugue = RM + Fugue. The issue is, RM offers way more than HMC does in other ways like breaking enemies faster, delaying the enemies recovery massively and being SP positive.
Lingsha is a simular story at if you have her LC> If you have her at E1 however she straight up beasts HMC.
So I use an e2 firefly with e1 ruan mei traveler and gallager. At e0 is she worth it on this team to replace gallager? or better to save for 3.0
How is this even a serious question. She’d replace anyone on that name other than Firefly and it would do 2x better. Her exo break allows Firefly E2 to proc as well…
So from my perspective, if you want to run 2 break teams. something like this
– Boothill, Bronya, Fugue, +1
– FF, HMC, RM, +1
I think E1 is better than S1 right? because:
1. She has no BE scaling in her kit, basically only need EHR and SPD
2. You can’t split RM so the break efficiency is much more valuable than the 40% break vuln. for the team without RM
Unless your gonna run her with RM anyway then S1 > E1. What do you think?
So before tutorial with ERR good now? She probably will not hit 250% break effect tho…
Pretty big changes with V3.
Her skill now allows the effected ally to break regardless of weakness type at 50% efficiency. This cannot stack with others of the same effect. Aka Rappa can’t get to 100% from this. Also the amount of exo toughness the enemies gain when broken has been reduced to 40% to make breaking them again easier. This is great for most chars and even helps with Firefly’s none enhanced attacks.
Her ult cost has been reduced to 130. Still hoping for a toughness boost as well though.
The EHR% boost from her traces and been turned into speed, 14 total.
Her 3rd trace has been changed from 15% BE per stack to 8+16% BE if she has 250% BE or more. Total going from 30% to 48% which is pretty nice.
E2 Has been nerfed to 3 energy gain per break from 5. Probably due to the decreased ult cost.
E4 Has either changed or gained a new effect. The ally effected by the skill will gain another 20% break damage bonus.
Is it worth getting her for someone who only has the Firefly team?
Yes. Infact with Fugue even Lingsha can be a DPS now.
i will get her for my runmei, hmc, firefly, galagher team and replay hmc with her because aoe break without limitation of fireflys singletarget fire imp and x2 breaks (exo toughnes) is nuts.
+ i have firefly e2 so breaks without end on first turn.
if her weakness ignore buff cannot stack then whats the point of it? i dont understand what they are doing with her kit
? Not everyone has the ability to break enemies regardless of weakness type. So far only Firefly in her buffed state, Rappa and Fugue can do it. This buff allows anyone to do it. Boothill without using his ult, Firefly outside of her Enhanced state. Lingsha ect ect.
her e2 energy gain iseffected by energyregeneration they say on reddit, before v3 it was not.
I’m glad that HYV buffed her up. Still, I hope it could be better. The unstackable colorless break only benefits BH. And even that, it doesn’t solve his main problem.
I wish it is further buffed to something like along these lines:
– Stackable with other colorless break
– If only one target hit, 100% Toughness Reduction
– If > 1 targets hit, 50% Toughness Reduction.
This way, all three Break dps can benefit from her.
I mean it helps every non-break focused dps to fit better into a break team (particularly, Himeko, Luka, Misha, Serval seem to be varyingly popular ones).
And as for break scaling dps, you did miss someone – Xueyi, her biggest issue is being walled by non-quantum weak enemies, as without her ult, she can’t really trigger the follow up from her talent, which really hurts her dps – so with that + exo toughness, it’s safe to say she’s loving Fugue after this change~ :3
My apologies for forgetting Xueyi 😅
? She’s already the best by far but you want to make her literally 3x better? Please get out.
Nope :p
Sorry if I’m just being dumb, but could you explain the skill a bit more, please? Is it the same or similar to weakness break efficiency or not? But if it is, will it stack with her E1?
“Her skill now allows the effected ally to break regardless of weakness type at 50% efficiency.”
Xueyi mains went viral after that one)
“Her skill now allows the effected ally to break regardless of weakness type at 50% efficiency.”

Is her LC at must or I can go with the Herta shop or Resolution shine at pearls? Both S5, because I have a feeling that Firefly gets a rerun with her and I’m planning to get her LC.
Pearls works fine if you have it
Does this site show how much energy the ultimates for characters cost? I don’t see it under the skills tab
Look under the “Stats” tab.
Furthest right column
appreciate it, thanks
mega copium wishes for the changes in v3
her E2 energy gain moves to one of her Traces and the adv forward changes to 50 or 100% (basically making her robin for break)
her having a unlimited scaling shared BE for allies based on BE
her getting bonus BE based on her EHR
since her superbreak(100% at lvl 10 and 110% at level 12) is scaling based on skill level, then a increase where we get ~110% at level 10 and 150% at level 12
additional things on her ult (currently its just a aoe dmg) probably vulnerability debuff because right now she buffs more than she debuff considering she is nihility
100% or even 50% adv would have been obscene and impossible to balance with it being locked behind E2. Her ult getting a debuff of some kind would be nice, as would a toughness damage boost (for v4).
stop crying “she’s weak” because she’s not. It’s just a premium version of HMC. HMC is broken enough in his current state. If we release his much stronger version, this will be absurd. So Fugue is situational HMC replacement which is 5-10% peak better than him. I’m pretty sure this is fair.
(BTW, her E1 is just unfair, break efficiency is too valuable in her comps. If you pull for E1, she skyrockets in value, now being able to replace both HMC and RM getting a huge damage increase in both cases.)
she’s weak rn or are you too blind to see this fact? saw tons of fugue gameplay on YT and her cycle clear exactly the same with our free HMC which is weird. why people need to pull her if she can’t gives significant result than our free HMC? look dont get me wrong i also love fugue design, animation, except her kits. i also already pre-farmed for her complete. but if she dont get update on her final (v4/v5) then i better pull sunday which i dont even pre-farmed for him yet.
that`s the catch: they are trying to “VS” her with HMC. this, of course, give us a false hope, that E0 Fugue is no valid, that we can choose other ways to improve Break team. Forgetting about “VS” her with Ruan Mei and the value of another 100% Super Break in total damage against +50% effective toughness damage.
No way. Really? You saw videos on youtube? Well stop the fucking presses, then, I guess math, common sense, and the good old bit of prediction based on the company’s design patterns no longer matters.
1) she’s more aoe oriented, hmc isn’t.
2) she causes a secondary break point. This is the real niche and there’s currently very few characters who benefit (partially dot teams, mostly himeko and xueyi, neither of which are over performing.)
3) she’s SP positive, HMC isn’t really.
4) New mechanics are often expounded on with power creep = present good / future better.
Which leads the ultimate point: there’s multiple compounding mathematical reasons she’s better in some comps than others, which makes your assessment insulting towards everyone’s intelligence, including your own.
get real and open your fckg eyes you blind. now i ask you do you want to pull a unit that gives no significant benefit on your team? if i were you i won’t no matter how i love the character is, i told you already i have prefarmed for her completely just bcz i really love fugue chara design, but after see the match on YT i start to planning my next future and saving. yes ofc still v2 that’s why i say if she dont get any changes until final then no matter how i love the chara i choose follow the meta path.
Personally I’m planning to use her WITH hmc in the same team
“now i ask you do you want to pull a unit that gives no significant benefit on your team?”
Are you retarded? What’s a “significant benefit” depends on who you already have.
If you’ve got literally every other character in the game at C6 – then I’m sorry for you, I guess? – But the rest of us with restraint and self respect have RNG and limited availability to deal with. so If you need a boost to himeko, guess what? Shit’s bussin’.
If you’re retarded enough to think LITERALLY ANYBODY is talking about GETTING HER FOR A TEAM SHE DOESN’T BENEFIT, then congratulations on your successful lobotomy, I guess, thundertwink.
Bro thinks every new character has to kill the previous one.
Hadn’t we had enough powercreep in this game history? Why won’t we get a healthy XQ-Yelan like sidegrade? To have some variety in break comp builds? Oh no we want to get an even more broken analogue of already broken enough character in the by far the best comp in the game right now.
Ah, sorry, I’m being a bit delusional. Which “balance” am I talking about? I forgot we’re playing HSR for a second. In this game if a character is not two times stronger than previous people won’t pull for him.
