  1. Strong but seems like a pain in the ass to build. She has litterly no crit rate or crit dmg in her kit or her LC. That’s a HUGE downside.

  2. Confusing kit. Needs ton of BE and breaking enemies is the only way to deal huge damage and while longer the enemy keeps being in broken state you will see non crit slaps and you are basically forced to use harmony MC. Also she consumes HP and then heals back… and that’s it??? Arlan at least gets damage boost from reduced HP. HP mechanics could do something useful like more BE while on low hp or something.

    Also, what Stats (or Sub-Stats) should I prioritize and what are some of her LC choices?

    • The “Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge” set, 4pc, and the “Forge of the Kalpagni Lantern” set, 2pc. These sets are only available after the 2.3 patch, the patch when Firefly becomes available.

      Speed boots, atk% body, break effect rope, and atk% sphere.

      Just ~6 rolls on break effect and you are good to go. ~15 more rolls for effect res, too, if you have nothing better to do at the moment.

      Make sure to build your Harmony Trailblazer and make sure they have >=200 break effect in battle.

      Ruan Mei is an exceptionally good 3rd member of the duo.

      Gallagher is so far the most ideal sustainer for the team.

  5. 1. Firefly’s unenhanced skill, enhanced skill, and enhanced basic attack have no base energy yield. That means, she must cast her unenhanced skill twice in order to transform again. Never allow a chance for the enemy to hinder her by draining too much of her energy.

    2. If Firefly has 180+ speed when transformed, she may cast her enhanced skill three times for a rotation rather than just two, and that’s a huge boost to her damage output. Under no circumstance should you abandon on giving her 180 speed by some sort. Luckily with a pair of speed boots she has 172 speed and that’s pretty close to the goal. With Ruan Mei’s passive speed boost she immediately overcomes the 180 threshold. She even gains 6% more from her dedicated planar set.

    3. Firefly’s enhanced skill has an amazing 90 toughness damage vs. the main target and 45 vs. the adjacent targets, and 90 toughness damage is as much as the toughness damage of a Hunt character’s single-target ultimate. She even has a 50% break efficiency bonus that is consistant. Assuming that’s additive with Ruan Mei’s break efficiency bonus rather than multiplying with it, she deals 180 / 90 toughness damage for every cast of her enhanced skill. However she lacks any payoff for her super high break efficiency on her own and that’s why you shouldn’t ignore the Harmony Trailblazer. 540 / 270 toughness damage translates into ~20k / ~10k super break damage. It could be even more than that if more sources of def shred included. Nobody else so far gives such a strong payoff for the overwhelming toughness damage.

    4. While Firefly has high base attack and high attack multiplier on the enhanced skill, she lacks damage amp or crit values on her own, limiting her potential as a critable damage DPS. She is also extra fast and SP hungry, blocking Sparkle and Bronya away, limiting her teammate options to only the super generic Ruan Mei and Robin. In this case the build is much more expensive than the Harmony Trailblazer and is far weaker than it, so I honestly discourage you to do so unless you hate the Harmony Trailblazer for a reason.

    5. It is acceptable for a break damage oriented Firefly to totally abandon the crit stats and only stick with speed, break effect, and atk%. A crit rate body and ~28 rolls on substats for crit value roughly doubles her critable damage but that’s not as rewarding as just sticking with break effect. This is in contradiction with my previous posts but it was determined by mathematics.

    My relic plan based on the statements above:
    • The “Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge” set, 4pc, and the “Forge of the Kalpagni Lantern” set, 2pc;
    • Speed boots, atk% body, break effect rope, and atk% sphere.

    Let’s calculate her break effect, excluding any potential substats to make her substats requirements clear:
    • 37.3 from minor traces;
    • 30 from the major trace; (2947 attack)
    • 60 from the sig lc;
    • 16 from the Iron Cavalry set;
    • 40 from the Kalpagni Lantern set;
    • 20 from Ruan Mei;
    • 60 from the Harmony Trailblazer; (200 break effect)

    Thus, 328.1 break effect in total. Just ~6 more rolls on substats for break effect and she reaches the 360 threshold. The requirements can be even lower if your Harmony Trailblazer had a great bunch of substats that they have even more break effect than that during battle. Substats on atk% for the break effect conversion is fine, but remember 6 break effect is one substat worth and 100 attack is two substats worth, only a super genious trades two substats for one.

    As stated above, Firefly already exceeds the 180 threshold with zero substats on speed. Adding more speed stats from substats do not contribute much to her damage output aside from robustness against hindering.

    Interesting enough, just ~15 rolls on substats for effect resistance and Firefly is totally immune to debuffs when transformed. Stick with effect resistance if you have nothing else to farm.

    Given such a low requirement on substats, it is not too late to farm for her relics at the 2.3 patch.

      I live in a country where people are used to count by a unit of 10k, this is what led to my typo.

      • Firefly is going to be a superb unit for MoC and AS. She simply crushes over any enemy regardless of weakness type at low investment. Not even the simu high difficulty modes can stop her. However she is likely to be underestimated, because the Harmony Trialblazer, her best teammate forever, is prone to be underestimated.

          • I didn’t forget. 200% break effect -> 30% teamwide break effect bonus and I’m assuming you are getting 60% break effect from HTB.

        • ah i see the 200% break effect, if you are assuming sig lc, i would also assume that player would also be able to get at least an s3 memories of the past which puts the minimum break effect of trailblazer up to:

          37.3% from traces
          64.8% from rope
          42% from MOTP S3
          16% x 2 from 2 piece thief+ 2 piece firefly or 4piece thief
          16% from talia
          33% from ult

          which brings the minimum(no rolls on BE) break effect to be 225.1%

          hell even an S1 MOTP would have 211% break effect without any break effect substats

          • My HTB has 247.1% break effect and 151 speed and ERR rope on them because I was lucky getting so many rolls on break effect. However I’m not assuming the player to be as lucky as I am when I do the substats requirements estimation for them.

    • If you use Watchmaker on HTB or RM you should be almost on 360, it’s +30% so maybe you can go for crit sub stats

      • WIthout crit stats only Ruan Mei’s buff and at 360 break effect the enhanced skill deals about 18k damage to the main target.

        With crit rate body and ~28 substats on crit value, assuming you only have 250 break effect in this case, the enhanced skill deals about 30k damage to the main target. That’s ~66% upgrade over the first.

        However 180 / 90 toughness damage is ~60k / ~30k super break damage at 250 break effect. Upgrading 250 break effect into 360 you get ~31% more break damage, not counding the additional def shred. Crit values on Firefly? I don’t see the difference when you do the same to Kafka.

        My calculations are done based on the known damage formulae and assuming the enemy is lv.95 with no innate fire weak.

    • So is the enhanced skill 90 x 1.5 = 145 toughness damage? I thought the 90 came from 60 x 1.5 = 90. Since the enhanced skill will always have that 50% efficiency, I thought it was already calculated in.

    Her battle animations is kind of a letdown. No impact, considering its a robot. Devs just want to show her nude shoulders. You cant even see a glimpse of the animation from her boss stage.
