    • She can crit every turn, she doesn’t force her break like Boothill so her main source of sustained dmg is her enhanced skill which scales off atk and has a maximum 580% multiplier (+ half of that to adjacent enemies)

    3400 Atk so atk orb and atk boots?
    Decent cr/cd because she dont have single cr build in her?
    18-19 speed sub stat to reach 181 speed for 3 turn in ult state?
    People were saying her multiplayer same level as il dan hang so dont need crit…
    How much dmg il dan hang does without crir? Even then he has inbuild cr/cd/dmg bonus to boost his dmg
    So firefly need HMC to function? Rely on super break effect? Then whats the point even shusang and xuyei deal milion dmg with HMC

    • i think firefly is suppose to be more of a backloaded damage dealer. so her damage doesnt come from her own attack but from actually breaking the enemy weakness. she also ignores 40% armor which is the same as 26% damage boots approx. i think its better to wait for some showcases

  4. damn these stat breakpoints keep getting higher and higher

    firefly’s kit design just…confuses me. i’m not calling her a bad unit, nor a badly designed one, just…confusing to me.
    she’s a break damage focused unit who would like to crit (given how many turns he gets), yet her exceedingly high break effect requirements don’t really allow her to build much, if any crit.

    on a Crit/ATK/DMG/BE build, using a 4* LC like Flames Afar or Under the Blue Sky requires him to get ~104% ATK from other sources and using Aeon requires ~30% ATK after fully stacking (he only takes 3 turns at the start of battle, 2 of which being under complete combustion) in order to fully max out one of his major traces to get 60% BE

    you could go ATK/ATK/DMG/BE to get to that 3400 ATK cap earlier, but this means that he’s not going to be able to crit easily and on 4* LCs she still needs ~61% ATK to get there.

    even if we ignore the 360% BE cap for his DEF ignore, she still struggles to get even 250% BE without her sig and without ruan mei (60% from trace + 64.8 from rope + 37.3 from stat traces + 16% from 2pc bis = 178.1% BE – 71.9% BE needed for 250% BE)

    what really confuses me is that he’s heavily incentivised to be played with ruan mei, who has action delay, and his sig also reduces enemy speed. couple that with the fact that firefly cannot trigger break damage outside of actual weakness breaks and a lot of her damage results in relying on super breaks. compare this to boothill, who can actually trigger break damage outside of weakness breaks… firefly is almost entirely tied to being run alongside HTB if you’re not going for a 0 BE full crit build. if HTB bounces funny and they accidentally break someone, that’s a LOT of damage that firefly’s not getting back (granted, super breaks do minimise that impact)

    hoyo seems to be going in a direction for weakness breaks that goes contrary to maximising damage of breaks – instead of making enemies recover their toughness faster, they’re going in the direction of them being in weakness break for as long as possible in order to trigger more break damage. this is smth i really like, but the fact that firefly doesnt have that break dmg trigger at base is baffling (like even 10% of her super break dmg would be cool)

    actually writing this did help me better understand and appreciate his kit LMAO

    finally i just do want to say that im not trying to doompost, nor am i saying that she’s a bad unit; he’s really freaking good. i really do like her as a character and i think a lot of her kit is actually very intriguing, he just sorta confused me lol and the stat requirement she has is honestly absurd if youre using a 4* lc

    • you’re not accounting for the new rope set which gives a 40% be buff on hit if the target has fire weakness (which she implants herself) that would only leave you wtih 31.9% BE from subs to hit that 250% threshold, with ruan mei you go up to a grand total of 238.1% that leaves you with 121.9% to hit the full cap which seems a lot more doable.
      With the 4* LC from the shop she needs 104% atk to cap out her atk buff considering ATK chestpiece, spd boots, fire orb and BE rope
      if we consider Aeon on the other hand she’d need 61.8% in the same set up at full stacks which again, seems more doable.
      Clara’s LC takes you on even lower thresholds if you think about it with 60.5% atk subs to reach cap while also adding some survivability
      Her own LC raises the percentage to 75.8% but also reduces the BE needed and pushes you closer to the 360% threshold by quite a bit.

      it would take quite some RNG, but it’s most definitely doable to make a good set for her with the right LCs and substats.

      boothill gives himself crit rate and crit dmg yet no one says anything about building crit on him.

      “it’s hard to reach 360% break effect at e0s0 with no ruan mei” but you forgot to factor in the break effect planar 2pc which gives 40% or talia which gives 36%

      s5 indelible promise gives 56% watchmakers gives 30% harmony tb will give around 20+BE depending on your build. 178.1+20+40+30+56=324. And if you dont have indelible promise thats 268.1% meaning you will need 91.9 break effect spread across 5 relics. On average you will need 18.38% Break effect on every piece which is around 2 rolls into BE, not difficult at all.

    • Unless the damage calculator is wrong, her damage alone (e2s1) is pretty mediocre… Assuming pretty good artifacts of her new set, and the best conditions (ultimate, broken, etc.), her dmg per skill is only 60k… Yes, she does 170k breaking but you won’t break every turn. ITB gives the remaining 250k. While I understand that she is not made to be alone, I’m not sure if being SO dependent on another unit is good enough. Not even Kafka gets such a boost, it’s a 400%. I hope I’m wrong

  7. If SAM doesn’t wipe the floor with enemies after the first ult,
    does SAM have to use 100% of HP for the second ult (assuming the team is without Tingyun or Huohuo)?
    Because, as it seems, SAM can’t regenerate energy from basic attacks and skills while in Complete Combustion state.

        So, after ult, he will heal from enhanced E for 35%, and he will heal twice from, for instance, Gallagher: one from skill before ult, and one after, and I guess it should be okey.

    I assume ATK% body and Break rope, and Herta’s lightcone because of the huge atk% stats… Ruan mei and HarmonyMC on the team as well…

      37.3 traces
      28 minimum from indelible promise (62.3)
      64.8 from rope (127.1)
      16 from bis relic set (143.1)
      40% from bis planar set (183.1)
      and extra 28 if you have s5 indelible promise (211.1)
      speed is already covered by her self speed buff, all you need is to shoot for break effect and atk and you already want to run her with her boyfriend/girlfriend (imaginary mc) so that’s even more break effect, so it shouldn’t be that hard, at least IMO

      60 from Module Beta Trace(after doing the math you need to use 2 ATK main stat piece +33% atk subs or 3 ATK main stat pieces to hit 3400 atk needed)
      37.3 from Trace Stats
      16 from the new 2pc set for firefly
      64.8 from Rope
      40 from new planar set for firefly

      thats 278.1. the remaining 82 you have to get from subs or the effects of Harmony MC and Ruan Mei

      with harmony MC. if you have 200BE on her you can get 30 BE + 37.5 from ULT
      RM gives 20

      4pc watchmaker set gives another 40
