Character Details | A Memokeeper of the Garden of Recollection. A mysterious and elegant soothsayer. She often wears a warm smile and is willing to patiently listen to the words of others, thus using such means as a pretext to enter "memories" and gain omniscience over certain matters. A lady passionate about collecting unique memories, yet the thoughts that guide her are hard to glean. |
Character Story: Part I | "She's quite an unusual kid, and I could sense it from the day she was born. It felt like nature itself was celebrating her arrival: The birds chirped, the moon and sun were together in the sky. The cards in my hand seemed to hint at the emergence of a soul steeped in nostalgia. Right from her early years, she had a fascination with stories from the past. She would delve deep into contemplating our origins, our creators, and even the very beginning of the world. Her questions would leave even the most erudite scholars scratching their heads. Sure, some other kids might poke fun at her for asking such deep questions, but aren't those questions important? Life is akin to a winding labyrinth, where memories serve as our sole companions." Afflicted with amnesia, her mother struggled with forgetfulness, making it difficult for her to recognize her family or recall recent events. Clutching the diagnosis of amnesia, she held her mother tightly, attempting to read aloud from the latter's diary. Her mother was physically present, but where was she in the realm of consciousness? She stayed by her mother's side until the end of her life, realizing that her mother had been fading away as her memories became fragmented. If her own memories of her mother were to ever become blurred as well, her mother would completely slip away from her. "Life is akin to a winding labyrinth, where memories serve as our sole companions." For the first time, she comprehended the profound meaning behind these words. * Unlocked at Character Level |
Character Story: Part II | "I arrived on this planet as an explorer. My usual tasks involved observing the flow of rivers, examining the materials of the city's bricks and tiles, analyzing the steepness of roads, and documenting the number and distribution of chimneys... These duties aligned with people's imagination of preserving a planet's 'memories.'" — However, such efforts were far from sufficient. Once I started working in secrecy, I would often come across that girl. Sometimes, sunlight would dance through the leaves as she walked beneath them, disappearing around corners once the street lamps illuminated the surroundings. On other occasions, her gaze would follow a carrier pigeon, which left the High Priest's quarters every Wednesday night, only to return the following morning to the palace's chief of the guards — a known political adversary of the High Priest. Occasionally, she would quietly observe rain trickling into sewers scarred by artillery fired from the opposite shore. And sometimes, waves would dampen her skirts, while an elderly woman washing clothes by the river recounted the story of the previous sovereign and his five illegitimate children. — Few individuals, apart from us, understand that a planet conceals and safeguards its "memories" in such a manner. I trailed behind her until we reached a rock on the moor. I knew that it was the time to invite her. "What do you see?" I asked, in a form visible to her. She pointed at a patch of weeds and the lingering traces. "I see a stone, perhaps once part of a fireplace... But it must hold more significance." I nodded and assisted her in removing the weeds and dirt from the crevices of the stone. "It was once a monument," she murmured, gently caressing the engravings adorning its surface. "Indeed, but the 'memory' holds more significance." Thus, I revealed to her that the stone on the moor had once served as a fireplace, a monument before that, a flowerbed, and even an altar... And before all that, it had simply been a stone on the moor. "What price would I pay if I want to witness those 'memories'?" "People will remain oblivious to your presence unless you are willing to reveal yourself." "Just as people fail to acknowledge the existence of black swans until they encounter one?" "Yes, just like that." Memokeepers travel to numerous planets, collecting the memories of each city they encounter. They are careful not to leave any trace of their presence, ensuring that nobody remembers them, unless they come across someone with the potential to become a Memokeeper, whom they then take away from the city into the vast expanse of the stars. * Unlocked at Character Level |
Character Story: Part III | Many individuals obsess over the glory of the past and aspire to become Memokeepers, longing to live within their memories. Such individuals often degenerate into unbridled Cremators, distorting memories to suit their preferences. However, she is different... I've sensed her unwavering determination and profound respect for memories themselves. Following tradition, I asked her three questions before making her a Memokeeper. "Will you dedicate your whole life to the collection of memories?" "I will." "Will you relinquish your physical form and embrace the transformation of self?" "I will." "If one day you cease to exist, what legacy will you leave behind for the world?" "My memories. They hold seeds from the past, destined for rebirth into the future." Memories come in various forms. Some are trivial and heartwarming, while others are grand and expansive. Some are gentle and meek, while others are wild and untamed... When she became a Memokeeper, her memories became tranquil and serene, like the calm waves that finally found their destined harbor. "What comes to your mind?" The Memokeeper asked. As she opened her eyes, fragments of memories swirled around her. "People tend to believe they are facing the present and the future, yet fail to realize that we are all, in fact, moving toward the past." * Unlocked at Character Level |
Character Story: Part IV | Location: Penacony Date: ██/██/██ Guests: ██, ██, ██, and ██ "A sorrowful memory from ██. This opulent memory, adorned with ostentation and longing, conceals an unknown sadness that will linger for years, influencing its owner for an extended period." "A joyous memory from ██. This dramatic memory is filled with vibrant hues of joy, confusion, and humor, but it can hardly be called true happiness. Such is the future it portrays." "A regrettable memory from ██. The fleeting happiness in this memory is beautiful yet short-lived, like a shooting spark from faded ashes. Cherish your limited moment, dear guest, for it informs me that it shall soon vanish." "A vague memory from ██. This memory is faint, chaotic, and disorienting, akin to an endless downpour with no respite in sight. I yearn to capture the future it points to, whether it be filled with rain or sunshine..." "I saw the figure of a woman, gracefully leaping and transforming amidst images and patterns. No... I'm not crazy, I did indeed see 'her.' I remember her voice, its velvety texture, and the colorful cards in her hands, imbued with some sort of magic... Oh, and she invited me to partake in fortune-telling. She said, 'Whether you want to foresee happiness or misfortune in the future, retrieve lost possessions, or seek unexpected gains... All I need is an honest story, for the past and the future are overlapped on the same point of a single circle.' My head spun, and she exuded such gentleness. I talked so much to her, and she patiently listened to my ramblings... And then, following her divination results, I retrieved a lost mirror for a guest of the hotel! Oh, you asked what I said to her? Oh, nothing important... Just some rumors about the past..." Currently, she journeys through various realms as a diviner, uncovering memories intertwined with her Path and Aeons. She believes that those memories are as enduring as gems, impervious to the eroding forces of oblivion. "Numerous Memokeepers have ventured to Penacony, only to discover it as a mere illusory mirage dancing upon the water's surface." "However, dreams... They represent a distorted form of memories. I shall delve into its depths and catch a fleeting glimpse of the buried memories before those Memosnatchers and Cremators arrive." * Unlocked at Character Level |

I really, really want her and I have no Kafka. Of course they are right next to each other. Is there any chance I can play Swan without Kafka?
Black swan can replace kafka actually, she has good synergy with the dot characters but might need to invest in a dps build but nothing too crazy, kinda like welt
Yes, very much so.
You can run Swan, Sampo, Luka/Gui and sustain unit for example. You may not have to run 3x DoT comp but I would highly suggest so if you don’t have Kafka, since the more DoT you have the higher Sacrament (Swan’s main damage) stacks.
An example of a 2x DoT comp would be something like- Swan, Sampo (or other DoT unit), Asta/Ruan Mei and Sustain unit.
So Swan without Kafka is really a valid option? I see, now she’s just broken, but no way she won’t be nerfed, and I think I won’t be able to get any eidolons or even BIS. Are you sure she’ll really be valid in team like Swan-Sampo-Gui (or Asta, or Ruan if I’m lucky) plus huohuo or any other team with double or triple Dot? I want to believe in it, but I want explanation. Can you explain me, please?
You can. They’re not married.
does sacrament count as a DoT for the DoT set?
way to powerful. Her Sacrament has a DMG Multiplier of 1,5k%
that is more then 3x the highest DMG Multiplier in the Game!
You know what that means? Every other Characte is obsolete and the entire Game has to be balanced around Black Swan.
So in other words it will be absolut impossible to get any kinds of rewards from MOC or Events, because you won’t be able to defeat any enemy in the given time!
her entire Kit needs to be remaked and nerfed like crazy!
The motion Value of her DoT is 240+12*stack.
while yes if you can stack to 99 the Motion value is 1428, How TF are you getting there?
in actuality it will be more realistic for the range to be 10-20 Stacks, and 20-40 stacks with ult, which is a motion value range from 360 to 720 ish. with wiggle room.
Unless your doing Welt things, and never letting the enemy get a turn, they will eventually reset their stack count.
1 base Sac
1 – 5 ish sac from BA or Skill (5-8ish after ult)
3 from any DoT sub DPS (Sampo, Luka, Gui)
6 from Kafka (Ult -> skill)
2 – 4 from enemy turn start
13 to 19 from napkin math, with few assumptions. (it takes a lot of speed rolls to get 2 turns before the elite)
so her actual motion value is like 405 – 468, for 1 turn without Ult, and 552 – 720ish with ult? (rough estimates there)
Dont’ get me wrong she will be powerful, but anyone claiming her Dot’s Motion value is absurdly high is deluding themselves. For refrence kafka’s Dot is 290% and she gets that for just existing and front loads that damage immedatly, Swan needs to ramp up every time. (and she herself can’t front load her damage though detonations by herself)
Kafka only applys 1 Stack, like Guinaifen and Luka.
Sampo is the only other Unit with multiple stacks and all of them get triggered.
So in that sense, what would be the DMG if she get’s like you said around 10 – 20 stacks and all of them trigger. The DMG is still way to high!
About 696% (20 stacks) at lvl 10, not big enough as kafka deals 15-20k with her 290% at full atk build (just dot). She likes building EHR so your atk is probably at around 2500 while achieving 120 ehr for full dmg bonus from talent (120 x 60% = 72).
From dmg formula she deals about 30k per 20 stacks of sacrament with 2.5k atk, accounting for wind dmg bonus + talent dmg bonus, res weak enemy, non broken, 20% def ignore from talent.
holy. black swan can make other dot units like kafka, only difference is they can only trigger their own DoT and black swan DoT. tho its funny on how we can reach the 99 stacks. and to add, since black swan DoT is also treated as all element DoT, will these procs the DoT relic requirements of having 3 DoT debuff? tho i doubt it will be a problem if one have s1 kafka plus black swan in the future.
E2 BS in PF could possibly be dangerous. no way E2 is sticking around though the beta right?
I’ve tried to make this post twice now due to bad luck, so some formatting might not be too good.
Black swan can stack her DoT Sacrament up to 99 times, but that is not reasonable. lets go though 1 turn calculation for how many Sac stack she can get
Team will be BS E0 Kafka E0S1 Ting E6 Huo E0 (triple Dot is also a possiblity, but only out paces if you have infinte SP)
This is a Blast Scenario with 1 elite and 2 mobs
BS Technique adds 2-3 sacrament on battle start (depending on enemy effect rez and your own, but at 0 effect rez the odds of getting 2 is 75% and getting 3 is 42%) [2]
Kafka Technique Trigger both shock an Erode
Black swan Skill and BA both add 2 stacks of Sacrament (1 from shock + 1 from base effects) [4]
Kafka Ult adds 3 [7]
Kafka E adds 3 stacks of sacrament [10]
Kafka Ults again [13] (I don’t rember the math on it, but if possible would be nice, otherwise just now assume Kafka is E4 or subtract 3)
if BS ults then Sac doesn’t reset, Trigger 396% Sacrament
so add BA or skill again [15]
Kafka E [18]
Kafka ult [21]
Trigger 492% sacrament, and reset
Max Cap 21
now go crazy and whale for E4S1 Kafka and E6 BS (for sanity sake E6 will be counted as adding 1.5)
BS Technqiue starts with 3 [3]
Kafka Technqiue kills the 2 Mobs +10. And Possible E6 proc for 1-2 more Sac [14.5] (E2, there is no way this makes it though Beta), unknown if E6 would also proc for +2 more
BS Ult
BS Basic attack (adds 5, as you somehow Ulted with BS before this, so sac counts as all 4 break DoTs + base) [19.5]
Kafka FUA E6 adds 1-2 [21]
Kafka Ult adds 3 + 1-2 from E6 [24.5]
Kafka E adds 3 + 1-2 from E6 [28]
Kafka Ult (tingyun + Huo) add 3+ E6 [31.5]
Trigger the Sacrament (with E3 sacrament formula is 300% + 15% per stack) for 772% Dot, and Ult doens’t reset
BS basic [36.5]
Kafka FUA [38]
Kafka Skill [42.5]
Ting Basic [44]
Kafka FUA [45.5]
Huo basic [47]
Trigger final Dot. 1005% (if anything could survive the prior)
my math got sloppy at the end. feel free to nitpick it.
but even with the crazyist math, your probably capping out at 60 maybe 70 sacrament stacks. and that is with very speicifc set ups.
For refrence this isn’t the best rotation either, since you will want to BS skill at some point, this is napkin math tho, so I’m not looking too deeply into it.
Ya’ll, I have no words to express how happy this kit (as is) makes me, as a DoT Enjoyer and Kafka main… I know 99.9% things will change before release as they typically do, so I’ll try not to get too attached but I really hope they keep her niche for the DoT element, specifically how her ult functions.
Black Swan (as she appears now) legitimately looks like she was designed specifically to play with 2 other DoT teammates. I love characters with specific toolsets that hard push a specific build or team but is much less effective outside that element.
I said this in another response post to someone but: What’s even crazier to me, isn’t Kafka doing Kafka things… It’s the fact that Black Swan enables OTHER DoT units to get in on the fun and detonate her massive Sacrament Damage! Look at her Ultimate… It says specifically when she ults enemies, they will be afflicted with “Epiphany”, which allows Sacrament to be regarded as Burn, Bleed, Shock and Wind Sheer… Meaning Luka, Sampo and Gui are able to detonate her massive DoT as well as their own… For 2 turns, that seems CRAZY to me! Sacrament stacks can reach upwards to 1000%+ damage and here comes Sampo (E4) using skill to detonate up to 48% of that damage or Luka (E6) who can proc anywhere between 112-136%(!) of that damage and that’s not including their own DoT and such. It’s just a cool design that no other team comp will be able to maximize outside of 3x DoT comps, due to the nature of all DoT units having the ability to detonate their own elemental DoT (no matter the source).
That is to say, as a 3x DoT advocate from day 1, I have high hopes for Black Swan to push this team comp into the front!
My “Dream Team” idea right now is Kafka, DoT (Elemental Advantage) unit, Black Swan and Ruan Mei. Ruan Mei doubles as the “sustainer” in the team comp by giving extra delay action when team (preferably DoT unit specifically meant to break) breaks enemy shields. The team should theoretically have enough damage between Kafka, Black Swan and third DoT breaking everything with Ruan Mei buffing said team to kill everything before anyone dies. SP shouldn’t be a problem as the only character using skill every turn will be Kafka while the rest are either SP positive or SP Neutral (although E4 Sampo would prefer to skill every turn) This of course is all a theory and with new endgame content coming soon it might be too tough to do without an “actual healer/sustainer” but it’s something I’m absolutely looking forward to test ASAP.
So to sums it up. Kafka will detonate all existing dots on her turn for big damage. With black swan. On enemies turn. All dots will detonate with far more damage than normal.
And if swan ults. The sacrament will be treated as dot? Cos. It says there it will be treated as having wind shear, bleed, burn and shock. This also mean that lightcones that says it needs to have wind shear and shock or having DoT in general, it will proc it effects. So does that mean if swan ult. Kafka can trigger the sacraments too?
Lol. Im losing my brain in her kit. Can someone say if my reasoning is right or can someone simplify it.
the wording on both of Kafka’s DoT Detonations is “All DoTs”, meanwhile, BS’s talent specifes that Sacrament is “Wind DoT”. the only person this wording excludes is Sampo whos E4 specifies “windshear”.
TLDR: Kafka is fine, and all of the other DoT sup DPS are only able to detonate her DoT after she Ults (when it’s counted as all 4 break DoTs).
Sacrament should be triggered by Kafka E and Ult (A2), but the special effects of getting to 3/7 (blast DoT / Def shread) stacks of sac will not proc when detonated, at most it will either keep her DoT at 240% attack, or at least stack it so that the Dot Scaling is 240% + 12%*stack.
Excluding SU shenanigan, on average sac should not get more then maybe 4-8 stacks without ult,(start at 1 from past trigger / technique opening), maybe + 1 per (break DoT) Dot from BA and before enemy moves (with only kafka S1 as only partner that is 2: shock and erode[explciatly counts as shock] so that means 4 sac stacks), meanwhile you can only get 3 stacks from her A4 (which allows detonations to add to count) per turn / skill, so if you run Dual DoT with Kafka S1, you stack Ult shock, Erode, Sac. once per skill and ult. On a stupid turn with E4S1 Kafka with Tingyun + Huohuo, Kafka can Ult Skill Ult, in 1 turn, which is 9 stacks, so theorically that is the reasonable cap for now, untill we factor in BS ult, which messes with the numbers a bit. While Sac is enhanced by ultimate it counts as the 4 break DoTs, does that mean it counts 4 times for her own application. if yes, then stupid things ocurre, if not, then the max cap will be around 21ish?
Sooo… Leveling order would be Talent>Basic>Skill>Ult since almost all of her damage comes from her talent, and leveling basic gives higher Sac stack infliction rate on basics, leveling skill only really increases the def shred, the dmg is neglible. Ult does most of its thing without leveling , only the meh dmg and the increased DMG on enemy turn effect going up. Wonder if that affects things like claras counter since iirc the counter doesn’t really count as a clara turn so therefore it should still be the enemies thus the counter dmg gets boosted by the effect? plus there would be nothing to differentiate it from a DoT up debuff otherwise…
Other than that aim for 120% effect hit rate to max that one passive and pretty much guarantee the 65% base chance effects against even the most resistant enemies. Effect chance chest gives 43.2%, Black swan gives 10% from traces, the IPC planar set gives 10% and gives atk% based on effect hit chance, so you need to get 60% or so from LC and substats. Good LC’s for that are Eyes of Prey(40% at s5), Before the Tutorial Mission Starts (40% at s5 and it was a free event lightcone many should have at s5) and of course her signature cone. EoP gives DoT damage as well but BTMS gives energy when hitting def shredded targets which should let her ult at least a turn faster.
A2 grants the same effect from her BA onto her Skill. Def Shred is great to have too so I don’t see why it has lower prio than BA.
is more worth to go s1 kafka or ruan mei? idk if the team with bs and kafka will be triple dot or ruan mei
Probably it’s going to be
Kafka-Black Swan-Ruan Mei-5*Support
or
Kafka-Black Swan-Asta/Tingyun-5*Support
Assuming that Black Swan does a great amount of DMG putting her with Mei can be actually great since she buffs the entire team and not only the main DPS.
The support will depends on how much SP do we need but i think Huohuo will be good even tho she is not an SP+ support like Luocha.
I’d say Ruan Mei has a bit of anti-synergy with Black Swan though. Ruan Mei delays the enemies’ turn and is great for sustain, but Black Swan’s talent won’t really proc that much. I’d prefer to just use a sustain in the last slot, preferably HuoHuo for some more ults+attack%
Ruan mei’s delay works like freeze where the enemy still gets their turn but they can’t take any actions so it’s actually good for DoTs
You’re right, I didn’t know how Ruan Mei’s delay worked when I made that comment lol. My bad for making that assumption without looking at how the delay works.
Ruan Mei is ultimate synergy. The way her delay works is enemy will take turn but doesn’t do anything, then take another turn shortly after the delay(like recovering from being frozen). Ruan basically makes enemy take more turn
