Correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve seen a lot of people consider the A4 trace to be a dmg% boost and not a direct damage output and then say that dmg% wouldn’t be as valuable to her. Isn’t the A4 trace different than just normal dmg%?
It essentially functions as a modifier to the ability multipliers and people who still claim it’s a Dmg% stat, well… sucks to be them.
There are precedents of the “X% of original DMG” wording such as Sushang’s half-damage Sword Stance hits via her Ult or Himeko’s E6. Some effects do mention “multiplier” explicitly but regardless of the modification, whether fixed value (Gui E2, Kafka E6) or relative percentage (most of these effects), they aren’t just plain ol’ Dmg% stats.
The reason people are saying to forego Dmg% on Acheron is because her A6 already gives 90% Dmg apart from what you get from either GNSW or Sig LC.
this may be my fault for being too stupid to understand, but does that mean that its still better for Acheron to have an ATk% orb?
Pretty much, yeah.
You still go Atk% orb even in builds where you can replace Spd boots with Atk% boots (high Slashed Dreams-generating team or Bronya/Sparkle drag strat with an E2 Acheron).
She already hits 98% from her own kit alone (8% from Traces, 90% from A6). Throw in an LC (GNSW, Welt LC, or her LC)and that easily goes past 100%. Even in the above drag strat teams Bronya provides *a lot* of Dmg% and even Sparkle has a decent amount of it.
ahh… I am so glad I passed that doompost stage back in the days.
I 100% going to E0S1 her, maybe more depending on luck and I didnt even prefarmed her set.
Game is easy AF anyway. Still using Seele and Clara, getting full stars from first try almost always.
Pre-release TCs show that she is lower than JY E0S1. What happened? I thought she would overwhelm and replace everyone?
At e0s1 she is the 3rd strongest dps unit
From the end… the third strongest division from the end in the MoC after Argenti and Blade. Or do you use Prydwen “TC”, which count the strength of characters without their supports?
yeah, I looked some TC and it seems it is E2 or she is really bad.
Mihoyo is walking on thin ice here. People are willing to spend for something good at E0S0 and which becomes OP with LC and early eidolons and not to get something dysfunctional at E0 with E2 as requirement. Kafka is best example – despite of all the hype, she end up disregarded by community and poor selling, because she had no top meta team until BS release. And only hardcore simps will spend on somebody who was labeled as trash by majority, even if it is Raiden expy.
I see some TC from this https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1N8G8zQ4VYNVQBuZb6ZiceW6O3ioTSULxCdlcYEFx8XU/edit#gid=1164712955
If I understood them correctly this was simulation for 5 cycle(0-4) and what i see was:
Acheron s5 GNSW//guinaifen ~150spd//pela s5 resolution ~155spd//gallaher with s5 3*lc ~155spd == and this team deal ~1kk single target damage output(900k from acheron and 100k from gui)
JingYuan s5 Breakfast//Tingyun ~150spd//Sparkle s5 BattlePass LC ~165spd//Lynx ~150spd == and this team deal ~800k single target damage output
Yes acheron have better lightcone the JY in this two scenario, but JY have 5* harmony in team, when acheron have two 4* nihility/
And if this simulation rules and math is fine, what wrong with all this doompost what acheron is weaker than JY, maybe i something dont understand correctly?
we can always create theoretical situation where some character is better then another character. But we all played game enough already to see what is what. Pela and SW arent as powerful as RM/Sparkle/Bronya. And character without LC is very hard to optimize stat wise. GNSW is great and all, but in case of Kafka without LC it is very hard to get necessary amount of speed from relics alone, thus despite all theorycrafting Kafka with LC is just another level, not to mention extra base stats of 5* LCs. JY is considered bad without his LC. So what’s point of comparison him with f2p one, especially with common knowledge that Erudition “free” LCs suck, while Nihility “free” LCs are very strong?
It’s not about Acheron being weaker then JU, she is fine by herself, she simply doesnt have OP supports right now. And given the speed of powercreep in the game, by the time she gets those supports she just may become irrelevant unless having E2. Thus if you want “strong” Acheron logical conclusion is to get E2 right now, all of this is done by Mihoyo on purpose and while I dont mind spending when I want it, I certainly dont want to be forced to spend..
You can add this 15-20% from JY light cone to his dmg output and get e0s1 character with 5* harmony, who perform as character with 4* s5 lightcone with two 4* support.
You say she E2 or she is really bad and this is just a lie. Yes her E2 is really overpower, but it dont say that she cant poerform at e0s0 or e0s1 and simulation damage tests just confirm that.
She can 0 cycle at e0s0, https://youtu.be/7fTM3pUNPsc (and this even without harmony units)
Only partially true about her in all this 20 pages of shit is restrictions to team and light cones. but she also have very f2p variants with sampoo or swan and s5 free Fermata variant that can clear 12moc in less the 5-6cycle(swan+pela also almost same or better then sw+pela but have s5 fermata as option).
Also at e2 her performance is just far beyond of normal power and able to clear 0 cycle with sustainer without any problem.
Shit talking is easier then search some information about character well.
Hahaha Acheron wanters in shambles!!! Beta had ended and E0S1 is still weaker than JingYuan! Have fun waiting for your copium future supports while we flex over you with our units hahahaha!!!
And you know what? Still going to get her because she looks great and have a great design, and still not going to get JY or DIHL because they look ugly.
Game’s not based on tier lists. Just pull for characters because you like them.
flexing the upcoming 5 star fire destruction unit and 5 star asta.
Hey man whatever gives you that satisfaction. Enjoy being bitter for no reason 😀
at e0s1 she is the 3rd strongest unit
At their best teams at e0s1 we get,
DHIL, Jingliu, Jingyuan,
That is one , two, and three.
Counting the duo of Kafka and BlackSwan,
you get four, and five, wherever they are placed in between the 3 above.
There are five units above Acheron. In ordinal terms, she will be what is called Sixth.
ya jing yuan ya….Even with eos1 best team jing yuan still bellow her in her worst…Stop coping with your jing yuan.He might get little bit better after sparkel but still bottom of the barrel, he cant even compete with argenti
But ya you can clear MOC 12 with jing yuan no problem
He is… just better than argenti in MoC tho-
they crying with their jing yuan finally got their time to shine outside the basement benched characters after sparkle release
they completely forgot without sparkle jingyuan would be benched again
What’s with all the “!!!” ? are you trying to make yourself feel better for pursuading yourself not to pull for her? Don’t worry, we will all have fun using her. She will be just fine, and she will age like fine wine. I will not lower myself to your level by raising my glass to your future tears of regrets.
You must have had it rough, just flexing with characters is sad, I hope you get better relic luck.
And did we not wait for Sparkle and Ruan Mei for Jingyuan to be good? 💀 I love Jingyuan but let’s be serious. When Jiaoqiu comes out, it’s over for Jingyuan
Disappointed in her design, out of all their “Raiden Mei” characters. this is the ugliest. its only saving grace is its skill animation. Raiden Shogun/Ei and Herrscher of Thunder still the best. Special mention. APHO Mei.
L
Can you ult 3 times in the first cycle? I feel like you can do it w bronya and sparkle
Afterall those praises, she ended up being a mid unit that requires e2s1 to join the ranks of the greatest. That is what you get for mindlessly salivating without thinking deeper. Have fun on the same tier as Argenti.
Thanks! Have fun with your general.
There’s no way you’re saying “Have fun on the same tier as Argenti” with the name “The General is winning!”
Thx, Argenti is a great unit. Acheron does not need E2 to shine btw.
Her A2 says when “this unit” turn starts, inflict 1 crimson knot and get 1 stack of slash dream. Does that mean Archeron or the companion Nihility? And does that count separate from the Crimson Knot that unit inflicts from debuffing enemy target?
If that so, if we get A2 and still have 3 Nihility in our team, each Nihility can get 2 stacks for Archeron in a turn. Which means, she gets 1.5 turn Ultimate with A2
I think you meant E2 but well it says this unit so it means Acheron herself. The reason is that one less nihility will obviously be replaced by a harmony waifu, and they are incapable of inflicting debuffs with the very unreliable exception that is Ruan Mei with her ult. So to ensure your stack generation is not gimped by not having two debuffers, you get it back as a start of turn stack instead.
yes I read again it’s Archeron own turn. So she will gain 3 stacks with E2. The 2nd Nihility can still do 1 stack.
If we have Bronya and use it on Archeron, we’ll have 6 stacks + 1 from 2nd Nihility. If we’re lucky to have 2 ultimates from our sustain and the 2nd Nihility we can recover Ultimate in 1 turn that’s sick considering we can still maintain 160% multiplier
All of you just look dumb while doomposting Acheron tbh. As soon as we get Jiaoqiu, Acheron gets a broken team. She can use Pela/Silver Wolf, Jiaoqiu and then Sparkle/Bronya/Ruan Mei. Literally broken.
Oh yes, future impact – get a character now and hope that he will be good in six months / a year / a few years.
Do you really blame people for just wanting to be able to play the resulting character without waiting a few years? HoYo have you been well trained
To be fair, the doomers who were tooting Jingyuan’s horn can only do that because he now has access to Sparkle. So it just goes both ways.
Acheron is really a different one. She is purposely restricted as to allies. She is also incidentally restricted as to LCs.
Since she is so restricted, her improvement will come from something purposely made for her. You can even add that to a list of restrictions imposed on her – needs XXX unit too. She will be a collection of niche.
She wont be like JY who improves from things that are even meant for others.
Jiaoqiu is a great unit, debuffing + healing is incredible, you should search more about them
you do realise it’s not just hoyo right? its practically all gachas.
would you rather want insane powercreep or adding units that give value to current units with some powercreep?
if you dont like it, don’t play. it’s as simple as that.
mfs like you love to complain and doompost like the game is going to die.
Kafka came out on August 9th, and Blackswan on February 6th. Was Kafka unplayable before the release of Blackswan? No. Will Acheron be unplayable before the release of Jiaqiu? No.
Get Acheron now if you really like her. Or wait for her rerun if you prefer to have her with a stronger team mate. Either way, stop bugging people who choose to get her now and are patient enough to wait for a better team mate in the future.
Well first of all, Acheron is good already. A nihility sustain will just make her team building more diverse. Players just witnessed Sparkle being released and helping someone like Jingyuan so much yet they still think Acheron will be shit and stay shit??? like be serious and turn your brain on.
Who the hell is Jiaoqiu
A supposed 5* Fire Nihility character. They stack debuffs and creates an aura/field upon activating their Ult, which causes the highest debuff counter to apply to all enemies (incl. when new ones spawn). They also amplify Ult damage taken.
The field mechanic is clearly an RM-counterpart (which Nihi needs). The stackable debuff is rumored to be Def reduction (but I haven’t seen any clear indications) which points to a potential Pela replacement.
What’s funny to me is that their kit could just as easily be DoT-oriented, especially the stack count mechanic, which would be a big slap in the face for Acheron mains.
Even if that early leak was true, that doesn’t mean Jiaoqiu has to be only for DoT. He can be both for DoT and Acheron, and even further, for weakness breaking team such as a possibly upcoming 5-star Xueyi.
This is just the case of Sparkle. Hoyo would rather make supports generic and good for many teams, rather than just specific for one team.
What I was alluding to was the possibility the “debuff stacks” being referred to were actually just stacks for Burn DoT. While that will still generate SDs for Acheron no problem, Acherons would likely prefer Jiaoqiu to be more Stat Debuff-focused (hence the rumors of Def Reduc).
Burn normally don’t stack.
Gui already suffers from limited teamming option. Her vulnerability stacks too slowly to be useful without Kafka detonating burn for her. I can’t really believe they’re about to release a 5-star Gui because that would be an ineconomical treatment to their hard-made character model and combat animation. Few without Kafka will pull for a 5-star DoT.
Def shred benefits every damage type, including immediate damage, DoT, and weakness break. That would make JQ a more popular character, possibly rivaling Ruan Mei.
Then we will skip Acheron before this Jiaoqiu comes.
For now, we will have fun with units that works great and seamless with existing units.
Got Sparkle, lots of units becomes stronger.
Pulling for Aventurine to finally have 2 broken preservation unit. This one, if put on a team with Ruan Mei, deals good dmg while protecting.
Hoping Sam won’t be as limiting as Acheron. At the very least, as a destruction unit, he will have lots of LC options.
Hoping Robin turns out an empowering harmony unit as well.
.
Judging by rumors, a certain Boothill comes next along with Screwllum.
Hopefully your Jiaoqiu comes somewhere after that. Hopefully you have fun.
If you even tried searching about Jiaoqiu you would know how op they are, being capable of debuffing new enemies coming is really valuable in pure fiction, and we don’t have any healers that applies debuffs to enemies, the closest one is Luocha that removes a buff from them. You should stay quiet when it’s about something that you didn’t search about
Lmao nobody’s telling you to pull for her. idgaf about what any of you do. I’m saying why it’s dumb to shit on Acheron. Jingyuan was called midyuan until Sparkle came out 💀 and btw I’m getting Boothill anyway, people can pull for more than one character
For sure that wont come until around before she gets a rerun.
For now she is very skip worthy.
Hope she gets buffed. I don’t want to scramble for E2S1 just to make her great. That is just a big whale bait.
At this moment, getting Sparkle or Aventurine is the much smarter choice, and get Sam and Robin with the rest.
V4 ended, the buff period is over and she doesn’t need anymore buff..She is already 3rd strongest DPS after jing liu and DHIL
…At e2s1, 3rd strongest at e2s1. JY team at e0s1 with sparkle is still stronger, unfortunately. And there is also the the trio of BS, Kafka, and Ruan Mei. A fire destruction is also on the way, and another Harmony units to shake thing up for most units that are not called Acheron.
At e2s1 she is stronger than both of them
Yes, at e0s1 she is the 3rd but at e2s1 she is the top 1
Brah, I watched some video E0S1 jing yuan with 80/195 stats with sparkel and tingyun did like 200k-350k LL dmg and 70k-100k ult dmg…LL once per cycle
E0S1 Acheron with pela and SW did like 450k-750k ult dmg almost same stats and its easy to ult twice per cycle with her LC and Trend LC….
E0S1 Jing yuan with sparkel still weaker than E0S1 Acheron without Sparkel(broken) level support
You sure about that? she only deals 200-300k with that team nothing more
Don’t know how to get a “300% buff damage”, but I hope it helps you.
# To keep this test fair, I didn’t use SW’s skill and removed her Planar. This way, Seele wouldn’t get any extra damage buffs, making it a straight up test of Def shred vs Dmg buff
# I Use SW’s ultimate + Pela’s ultimate + Luka S4 LC to get the -100% def shred
# Tested using Seele’s Ultimate to deal damage to the Searing Prowler on MoC 12 (Not a Quantum weakness enemy), and here are the results:
Solo Seele stats:
Atk : 3313
Cdmg : 229.7%
Quantum dmg : 48.8%
Harmony team RM, Bronya, Tingyun:
Atk : 3509 (+190 from original)
Cdmg : 239.7%
Damage buff : (Quantum dmg) 48.8% + (Harmony buff) 235% + (Glamoth set) 12% dmg + 10% CDMG (Broken keel set)
Total buff = 295.8% Dmg buff + 10% CDMG + 190 Atk
Enemy def shred : n/a
Ultimate Damage : 106640
Nihility team SW, Luka LC, Pela:
Atk : 3411 (+98 from original)
Cdmg : 229,7%
Damage buff : (Quantum dmg) 48,8% + (Glamoth set) 12,0% dmg + 98 Atk
Total buff : 60.8% + 98 atk
Enemy def shred : -100%
Ultimate Damage : 103642
Tldr :
3 Harmony : 106640 Dmg
2 Nihility + Luka LC : 103642 dmg
Dmg difference : 2998
# I recorded this test and uploaded it to Drive, but I’m not sure if I’m allowed to share the link on this website. So, feel free to do your own test
For future Acheron havers, here’s her build (based on the voices in my head):
Relic set: Pioneer Diver (released on 2.0)
Ornament set: Izumo Gensei (new 2.1 ornament)
Body: Crit DMG/Rate*
Boots: SPD (at E1-) ATK (at E2+)
Chord: ATK
Sphere: ATK (she get lots of dmg buffs so a Lightning% would be a bit worse)
*depends on the substats of other pieces, at E1 she gets 43% base crit rate, 55% with FX skill, so it’s quite easy to get high crit rate; but even with 120% crit dmg she deals high damage already.
–
Teams:
E1 or E0 Acheron: Pela/SW/Guinaifen (pick two), Sustain*
E2+ Acheron: Pela/SW, Sparkle/Bronya, Sustain*
*Sustain can be Fu Xuan for extra 12% crit rate or Gepard/MC/Aventurine with Trends LC for extra Acheron Ult stacks.
–
Gacha priority: E0>LC>Eidolons (E1 should be a must, for higher crit rate; and E2 for more crit/dmg buffs from Sparkle or Bronya)
This is mostly the same as what I’ve been planning, but I’ve been thinking lately. Since debuffs applied by allies give Slashed Dreams (SD), is it really worth it to use a harmony unit? Even at e2, that’s still at least 1 SD per unit action that you’re missing out on meaning you’re delaying Acheron’s ult which is the majority of her damage…
My basic Pepe Silvia napkin math makes it seem like e2 Acheron with the Sig LC and double nihility would possibly be getting 3 SD from Acheron and 1 each from the 2 nihility for 5 per turn, whereas a Harmony team would only give 4 per turn since, besides Ruan Mei’s ult once, no Harmony units apply debuffs. As far as I can tell this could mean that an e2 double nihility will reach 9 SD for ult in 1.8 team rotations, as opposed to e2 harmony which would need 2.25 team rotations.
While battles don’t necessarily last super long, extrapolating that out seems like it would result in e2 double nihility getting two more ults every 6-7 turns, not counting debuffs applied by other team members ults…
Again, this is pretty basic and quickly done napkin math, but I feel like more ults faster might be better than a slower, buffed ult…
I think the Harmony to use would be one that action advances, like Sparkle or Bronya. That way you still get the extra SD from Acheron herself if speed tuned correctly, plus the DMG or CRIT DMG etc from the Harmony unit.
At E2S1, going for SW/Pela allows for more main-target damage and more Toughness depleted while going Pela/Sparkle allows for more adjacent/distant damage (3-5 enemies).
Of course, lots of factors to consider and caveats regarding stat building, how fast to generate stacks, etc. and I’m computing for 5 Cycles which is already a relatively long fight and I’m being very optimistic/forgiving to the SW/Pela team here…
In the end it’ll just come down to what the fight needs. For example, against single target fights or if you need to focus down an enemy e.g. the incoming crystal dino boss, Pela/SW is probably better esp. Toughness-wise. If you’re facing a more AoE-oriented fight, Pela/Sparkle will likely perform better.
Decided it refine it a bit which leads to 1 less Ult on Pela/SW team.
On the Pela/SW team Acheron has 134 Spd (she could’ve gone up as high as 146 to gain the same amount of turns on both 3/5 Cycles as 160 Spd but you’ll start trading subs to reach that).
Pela/SW: doing 7 Skills + 5 Ults (5 Cycles) and 4 Skills + 3 Ults (3 Cycles)
Pela/Sparkle: 8 Skills + 4 Ults (5 Cycles) and 5 Skills + 3 Ults (3 Cycles)
And yeah, it’s not looking good for the full Nihi team.
In terms of main target damage, Pela/Sparkle wins in both 3 Cycles (~21%) and 5 Cycles (~1.5%). When it comes to blast and AoE, it’s heavily in favor for the Pela/Sparkle side.
You can indeed throw in a Sustain that contributes to stacks since it’s actually very close to hitting 1 more Ult on the Pela/SW team (the one I took away), but you could do the same on the Pela/Sparkle team so it in the end it can’t produce any notable advantages. The toughness argument becomes moot as well, unfortunately.
Thanks, great writing btw.
Imo if we have s1 sparkle, even if we dont have her e2, but s1 instead, its safe to asume it will be the best to bring that sparkle, sw and it will be better if you have fuxuan. Yes we only will utilize the 115% out of 160% damage increase, but i think those 3 will cover up the needs of e2 Acheron.
