TitleText
n/aA member of the Masked Fools. Inscrutable and unscrupulous.
A dangerous maestro of theatrics, utterly engrossed in the art of performance. Adorned with innumerable masks, she is the hero with a thousand faces.
Wealth, status, power... None of those matters to Sparkle. The only thing that can get her attention is "amusement."
n/aThe girl, an abandoned orphan, lived without knowledge of her origins or destination until she encountered a passing troupe. From a distance, she watched a black-haired lady with a double ponytail, gracefully moving across the stage like a fish. Despite donning various masks, they did not hinder her laughs and cries during her performance, captivating the audience even from afar. The fish leaped in front of her, then dove back down, creating ripples in the surface of the water.

Gradually, she realized she was watching the performance from beneath the stage.

Intrigued, she continued to watch the performances for countless days, but she remained an audience member, never stepping into the spotlight. After one of the shows ended, she went backstage, where the black-haired lady handed her a mask.
"Can I perform, too?"
"Why not? If others believe you are 'Sparkle,' then you are. Go, it's time for your show."

As the curtain, serving as the fourth wall, was drawn, the stage remained dimly lit, revealing an unsettling black void. Though wearing a mask, she knew the audience could see and hear her. She kept recalling Sparkle's performance, imitating her movements, voice, and demeanor.

"You've done very well for your first time."
"But my imitation... Was not perfect."
"That is a minor hiccup, but not a problem as long as nobody notices the difference... By the way, we are leaving tomorrow, so for as long as you want, you are the true Sparkle here, and you can make her whoever you want her to be."

Sparkle wanted to say something, but the lady affectionately rubbed her head.
"Not many people come to see us, except for you. We're just a small troupe, and we don't have grand aspirations of becoming famous in the cosmos... It brings me joy to meet someone like you who will remember an insignificant character named Sparkle... Don't cry, you can keep this mask. Now it's yours."
Sparkle nodded.
"When you don this mask, you have the power to become anyone and no one... If you truly aspire to be an actor, don't limit yourself to this small stage. Set your sights on the larger world and explore new horizons."
n/aAs the last descendant of the Puppet Clan, the girl lacked the freedom to choose. She was bound to live her life according to the dictates of the mask, as puppets were mere vessels for the masks.

According to their legend, the longer a puppet dons a mask, the higher the chances of the puppet acquiring a soul, resembling a true human. However, in human folklore, masks were depicted as tools used for resurrecting the deceased, thus leading to the dwindling numbers of her people.

However, as she had no interest in becoming human, being a doll was not an unfavorable choice for her. She dutifully obeyed the commands of the mask, despite the risk of attracting pursuers, as defying the mask proved to be challenging.

Movement was a crucial aspect.
By the will of the mask, she needed to smile sweetly when happy, hold her forehead while crying, grit her teeth when angry, narrow her eyes when jealous, and make a scene when in despair. There were also signature gestures, such as raising her eyebrows slightly to face others with the left side of her face, and raising her hand to express love, although she had to lower it later, as slightly biting her lower lip was the way to convey her true desires.

Voice was another aspect.
Depending on the situation, her voice needed to be cheerful when happy, mellifluous when expressing lyrical emotions, calm and assertive when making statements, strained when harboring hatred, and sorrowful when filled with grief.

Remarkably, she managed to sustain this way of life for years, seamlessly blending into her surroundings and even becoming a playwright. Nobody ever suspected that she wore a mask. However, she couldn't help but wonder if there existed another type of "mask" in the world — perhaps someone wearing such a mask would laugh when seeking revenge, shed tears when smiling, remain silent when raging... And speak the most sarcastic remarks with the utmost calmness.

Naturally, she couldn't do this due to the will of the mask, but as a playwright, making her characters on stage act like this was easy for her.

One morning, the doorbell rang, but it wasn't her usual delivery person at the door.
"Dear Miss Sparkle, I wonder if we could have a chat?"
"We have read your latest work, and we're curious if you know anything about the 'Mask'..."

n/aThe faceless girl realized that she must be under some kind of curse. Why else couldn't she feel any stimuli? Her sense of pain, taste, and smell were all intact, yet she was unable to react to them. Naturally, she couldn't experience joy, anger, sadness, or a range of emotions. She could only strive to observe others' reactions in various situations to understand their feelings.

"...How would you feel if you were drinking a cup of bitter tea? How would you drink it?"
Although tied to the chair and immobilized, the homeless man on the left made an appreciative gesture and nodded. The girl in the middle immediately cried and shook her head in denial, while the madam on the right wrinkled her nose in disgust.

"What if you were in an extremely cold hut, with only this cup of tea at hand?"
Naturally, the man nodded. The girl cried for a while and then reluctantly accepted, while the lady still reacted in disgust.

She continued to change her scenarios and ask questions day and night until her interviewees passed out. She would send them home and seek out new targets for her "interviews."

During that time, the town's inhabitants all had the same nightmare. They found themselves trapped in a place where a blurred-faced young girl politely asked them questions, and they had no choice but to answer. They could only provide responses repeatedly until the young girl meticulously recorded every detail on paper masks, one after another. Whenever a mask was filled, it was replaced by another.

This nightmare was soon replaced by another, as residents claimed to see paper masks flying through the air in the middle of the night. The masks would talk to each other, faintly glowing before eventually fading out, resembling sparklers in the night sky. They appeared every night, as if they were residents living in the shadow of the town.

In a dark basement, a young lady remained unaware of this nightmare. She had gathered enough information about people's nuanced emotions and their perceptions of different things... To make more paper masks. She firmly believed that although she possessed no emotions, the masks she created had flesh and blood. She even believed that one day, they would become real beings.
n/a"There are a few versions that are particularly popular." When Sparkle arrived at Fool's Tavern, she admitted her deeds. "Liking and believing are two different things, but people are more likely to believe in their favorite stories."

"Lies? Come on, I'm not trying to tell a grand story or fabricate an eye-catching experience... I'm wholeheartedly exercising my imagination for my own sake. I imagine various lives, seek excitement, and then recreate them as best I can, and pump the brakes on my imaginative balloon just a second before it bursts."

"Seriously, having a script is far from enough. First and foremost, I must wholeheartedly believe that the character I'm portraying truly exists. Then, I need to imagine the other stories where the character would appear. I always need extra information to make their motivation logical and emotional."

"And only then will I feel I can grasp the essence of the character without being influenced by others. After all, I might encounter other Fools, and I won't know what they want until I know who they are. Sometimes, you simply like the appearance of a character, and sometimes, you just want to experience it for fun. I do that sometimes, too."

"And of course, there are those who play solely for the sake of gain or to be regarded in that way, hoping for unimaginable wealth, status, or power... Anyway, what I'm trying to convey is that in such an environment, who but myself can guarantee that I won't stray from my intended path and become a character in someone else's story? Nobody! That's why I have to tirelessly imagine and immerse myself in the act."

"No, I'm not denying it... It's truly addictive to me. The more I imagine, the more I get absorbed in those characters, the wonderful and tragic situations I create for them, and the emotions they experience in those circumstances..."

"Sure, I used to think about that kind of life... Joining a troupe, becoming an actor, traveling to unknown planets for performances, creating a character with my own name on it... But then, one day, I had a sudden realization!"

"If you want to perform, is there a stage more captivating than your own life?"

  1. I just wanna throw something out there for those that reply to me asking about E0. The reason i didn’t use E0 without LC in my calculations initially is because E0 is really nothing special compared to what you already have. Don’t get me wrong. Sparkle at E0 is defiantly still the best support yet and if you want her by all means get her. However, the difference she will grant to your teams isn’t really all that game changing. Will she support DHIL better than anyone atm? Sure, will she support less SP using chars even better? Sure she will since you like her to use her skill every turn and she has amazing uptime for a unit that does not use your teams SP. But overall, E0 Sparkle without her LC won’t suddenly make MoC 12 easy for you if you are currently struggling. She may help reduce it by a single cycle compared to what you have rn. But if you are failing by 3 or 4 cycles then sadly she won’t be this game breaking support that suddenly allows you to do it with 3 or 4 cycles remaining. I love Sparkle and would highly recommend her, but if what you’re struggling with atm is DPS or sustain, then i’ve highly advise looking into better DPS or Sustain units over 5* support if you don’t plan on getting to the higher Eidolons or using her LC. So if you are struggling and still want Sparkle, i’d also advise into finding ways to make your DPS stronger in relics.

I’ll put it like this to convey just what i’m trying to say.

5* DPS no LC or E >>> 4* DPS. (Chars like Jingliu are literally 2x any 4* DPS atm.)
5* Sustain no LC or E >>>>> 4* Sustain. (Chars like FX can really change up the difficulty of the game and make certain parts of the game go from nearly impossible, to easy.)
5* Support no LC or E >= 4* Support. (She’s just not going to offer much more than a well built TY or Pela.)

If you really want a support and you want a support that’s going to make a REAL difference. Then you’re going to have to look into higher investments in that support. I see why some of you think she needs buffing, but they can’t make her so much better than anyone else at E0 no LC because that sets a really bad precedent for future supports. Just like in Genshin, 4* supports will always do just fine vs 5* E0 supports without Wep/LC and i really don’t suspect this is going to change.

The LC in fact is such a difference maker, i’d bet that TY or Hanya using Sparkles LC is better than Sparkle at E0 without said LC. Sad but true.

    • I will also add this just so you can compare what the LC and her Eidolons do.

Sparkle E0 no LC as before >= current well built 4* support.
Sparkle E0/S1 >> Current well built 4* support.
Sparkle E1/S1 >>> Currently well built 4* support. (Around the level of difference a E0 no LC Jingliu would make to your team if your current DPS is a well built Sushang.)
Sparkle E2/S1 >>>> Currently well built 4* support. (Around the difference you saw adding FX/Loucha/Houhou to your team and going from duel sustain(Nat+Fire MC) to single sustain.)

Which is why i say that i heavily suggest looking into higher investments if you have the pulls to do it. The difference is THAT crazy.

        • That’s very good, but most people couldn’t do that. i could solo sustain with Nat on team 1 and March on team 2 because i had the DPS to do it, but some people just couldn’t manage it. It’s not fair or nice to look down on f2p that couldn’t solo sustain with a 4* unit/Fire MC. So i tend not to do it.

        • I ran Fire MC and March 7 in MoC 10 till I have Fu xuan and Lynx too, but yea, most player don’t fully invest into Fire MC, Nata or March 7 to use them well
With new MoC 12 they will need both dps check and decent invested sustain to fight through easier without non stop retrying

    • E1 is pretty weak, you get 10% damage on average by going from 30% 2/3 to 30% 3/3 and 12% speed, but since you’re already likely playing Sparkle with 160+ spd it won’t really matter unless you pair it with RuanMei and try to reach the big 200.

E2 is a bit better, 16% damage and 12% def ignore is pretty good especially if you use quantum set and SW with Pearls of Sweat you’d actually reach 100 (45+8+16=69) from SW, 12 from Sparkle and 20 from quantum set. Probably the biggest increase but locked being a weak E1.

S1 on the over hand is 70% crit value for your main DD which would for a 100/150(250 with Sparkle E) a 20% total damage increase (going from 3.50 to 4.20 crit multi)
compared to Past and Future being a %32 DMG which should equal to a 10-13% total damage increase depending on other %DMG sources (go ATK% rope on your carry)

Overall I think the total damage your dps will do will increase by 20-25% from E0S0 to E2S1 Sparkle, then for sure Sparkle would be the best support by a mile but for the same price you could’ve bought 4 signature cone for all your DD and have an increase of 15-20% on them.

Also currently only DHIL and somewhat Seele have big E2 powerspike but we might have other characters in the future (I’m looking at you acheron) with E2 buffing them by almost 50%. IMO the play is to go for E0S0 or E0S1 and grab eidolons on her rerun if you want to improve her performance. With all the cool characters coming in 2.X I can’t justify going all in on a support.

      • E1 makes her ult go from 66% up time to 100% up time and grants 12% speed which is always valuable.
E2 gives her 6% more damage and 12% def ignore which is the biggest buff in the game currently Def ignore is absolutely nuts.

Both put together turns her 1.96x (100%/66% up time.) multiplier to 2.7x (100%/100% up time) multiplier. The value of her Eidolons cannot be second guessed.

Sparkles ult buff grants 10% per stack of Cipher, thus at base is a 40% damage buff. Not 10% per stack of her talent. It’s a pretty weird description so it’s very easy to get wrong. But the actual buff has been explained and i have no reason to doubt it.

        • Apologies, the 2.7x multiplier also includes the quantum damage multiplier. I’ve done so many calcs it’s easy to forget which is which. xD

2.18x at 100/66 up time to 2.7x at 100/100 up time is the effect of her Eidolons.

          • Sparkle ult is just a flat 10% added on top of the 6 = 16% per stack so 48% total.

E1 actually won’t give an extra turn of buff to QQ since she can already abuse her skill mecanic to have Cipher for 3 turn.

So from E0 to E2 you’d gain 12 spd (that won’t be there for the first 2 turns), 16% damage (when my QQ is already at 200%+ DMG% so that’s like a 5% boost and the 12% def shred which best case scenario is a 12% boost if it’s makes you go from 88 to 100%.

Now don’t get me wrong her E2 is pretty broken, an additional 17% damage is way better than Ruan Mei E1. but Sparkle E1 is so underwhelming I can’t justify getting it.

          • It’s not. It’s 10% per stack of Cipher. Read it again.

“Every ally with the Cipher will increase the DMG dealt by Sparkle’s Talent for an additional 10% per stack for 2 turns.”

Cipher gives an extra 10% per ally. You use the ult, all 4 members of your team gain the Cipher stack. You gain 10% for each stack of Cipher on your team.

          • We have leak video showing that the buff was +48% with Cipher up. I rather trust that than a wonky translation, especially when her A4 is also often misinterpreted.

    • Now it’s all nice for me to sprout these words without giving any evidence to help prove my point. After all without evidence how can i expect to be believed. So i’ll show some evidence in this next side post. To give said evidence i am going to use Tingyun without any LC buffs and explain the buffs she grants your DPS so that you can see i’m not just making things up to turn people off Sparkle. I also won’t add Tingyuns own damage that she can do, Sparkle won’t be attacking, Tingyun does attack applying weakness damage and tbh some okish level damage for a normal attacker.

At E0 Tingyun (Yes i am even using E0 Tingyun something you should absolutely have by now and if you don’t i am so sorry for that.) Tingyun grants.
50% of your chars base attack + 40% electric damage per hit. (This goes with your own stats like damage boost (Not elemental unless your DPS is electro too.) and crit stats as far as i am aware.
      50% extra damage boost + 50 energy.

Now, on a DPS with lets say 1300 base attack and 2800 actual with 100% damage boost. Tingyun would increase your attack by a very solid 650. Along with this she would add a 40% damage multiplier onto your lets say 220% damage skill. Thus turning it into a 260% damage skill.

      2800 x 2.2 x2 = 12,320
      3450 x 2.6 x2 = 17,940

This means Tinyuns skill with easily 100% up time gives a total of around 46% damage buff aka 1.46x with her skill alone. Now we have to apply her ult as well, which increases that 2x buff to a 2.5x buff.

      2800 x 2.2 x2 = 12,320
      3450 x 2.6 x2.5 = 22.425.

Ofc the ult only has 50% up time compared to the skill. As a result lets half that increase to give an overall buff shall we. 22.425 – 17,940 = 4485. 4485 /2 = 2242.5 upscaled to 2243. 2243 + 17940 = 20,186.

This means Tingyuns overall buff to your DPS per turn over the course of 4 turns is a grand total of around 64% or 1.64x. Along with this she grants an extra 50 energy to your DPS every 4 turns. If your DPS uses their skill 4x at 30 energy that’s 120 energy. Meaning Tingyun also increases your energy gain by around 42%. This can change depending on your Tingyun being attacked which we all know she always does, thus allowing her to gain more energy to give her own energy buff and ult buff more often. But lets put all of that aside to reduce Tingyun to her absolute minimum buff.

Now, by this point i’m sure you’ve heard me say Sparkle gives 2.7x at 100% up time at E2 S1 which is true. However at E0/S1 she only gives 1.96x at 100/66% up time. (Skill/Ult.) The issue here is, i’ve not given TY a LC yet. So lets do that now shall we? Lets give TY Sparkles LC to see how much extra damage it gives her on average. To once again get a medium buff up time, we have to calculate how often Tingyun would gain the Mask buff. Sparkle has it at 100% up time ofc, but Tingyun would not. Overall over 6 turns Tingyun would gain 4SP which would activate mask. Giving Tingyun a 66% up time with this LC. 24% crit damage at 66% up time comes to an average of 16% crit damage boost. Now we are going to assume your DPS has 150% crit damage on average. Which would make a 16% crit damage buff give a grand total of 11% extra damage to your DPS. Thus we can now calculate that Tingyun gives a grand total of 1.75x damage buff compared to Sparkles 1.96x damage buff and i didn’t even reduce Sparkles buff to show the 100% value since it is based on 100% up time despite her having only 66% up time on her skill.

      Tl;dr
Sparkle 1.96x multiplier buff. If you don’t skill every turn, this falls off massively. +1SP and 0 energy buffs.
Tingyun 1.75x multiplier buff at 100% up time on average. +2SP and 42% energy buffs.

After doing all this, i hope you can see why i say that an E0 Sparkle, really does not offer much more than a E0 Tingyun. If i were to make Tingyun E6, the buffs would get that much closer and Imo would actually start making it look like Tingyun is the better overall choice of the two. Ofc you can always use them together, but i bet that a Tingyun + Pela combo would be just as effective if not more so due to lack of diminishing returns.

Now this isn’t a doom post. I assure you that if you’ve read all my other stuff on here that i am 100% in support of everyone getting Sparkle and i rate her higher than any other buffer in the game atm. I just did this to show that at E0, she’s really not going to give you much more than what you already have. So if you’re lacking DPS or Sustain, you should 100% defiantly go for them first before looking at getting Sparkle.

      • To get rid of any doubt of E6 Tingyun. E6 gives 55% base Atk increase, 65% damage boost and 44% electric hit buff.

        2800 x 2.2 x2 = 12,320.
        2800 (1300 base x 1.55) = 3515 x 2.64 x 2.65 = 24,590.

Overall very close to a 2.0x buff. And that’s without the LC.

    • Yeah sure you compare her to TY, while other supports is like 30% worse than she is, and we need 3-4 supports for both sides.
Also you ignore monoquantum thing completly, like it isnt exist at all, while it is defenetly strongest universal solider in the game. I use support wich match enemy weakness, sometimes you just cant use TY or Bronya with them and than difference will become much more noticeble.
Also you ignore the fact that there is a 4 to 1, damage dealers to harmony charasters released, wich mean we might get next harmony like half year later, while damage dealers will come out nonstop that whole time.
Sustainers are very important, you realy should get one and free lynx for comfortable and easy times, but damage dealers are completly worthless long time terms. I have 36* with just Kafka as limited damage dealer, and I didnt used her once in 11-12 floors, this time that was just QQ, Sampo and Clara.

          • @Dazz Aephiex Honestly if your DPS is Seele i’d still say to use SW above Bronya. Since they both give the same buffs it would give a huge amount of diminishing returns, where as SW’s debuffs would not diminish at all. Even vs quantum weak enemies i bet Sparkle + SW is overall stronger than Sparkle + Bronya,

That and their advances are not going to work as well together as people think, in fact Bronya’s will render Sparkles obsolete. There is also the issue that you want Sparkle to be way faster than your DPS but you want your DPS to be faster than Bronya.

          • In terms of vs. boss damage, Sparkle + SW should be better than Sparkle + Bronya.

However SW doesn’t help much for Selee’s reset mechanic. Even if you are rich in SP that you can afford using SW’s skill once or twice on mobs during combat it’s still relatively inefficient compared against harmony characters, who just outright buff Selee’s damage.

            I prefer SW when:
            1. The boss isn’t quantum weak;
            2. Mobs have pretty low HP that Selee can one-shot them without any help or with the help of just one harmony character;
            3. It is simuverse where damage amp, crit damage and attack boosts diminish to the ground.

I prefer an additional harmony character over SW when:
            1. The boss is quantum weak;
            2. There are no mobs for Selee to kill, or there are high-HP mobs that selee needs 2 harmony characters to one-shot them.

          • From calcs i’ve done SW + Sparkle + FX should give an overall multiplier of 5x vs the enemy with the debuffs. Sadly Bronya and Sparkles skill buffs would never actually apply at the same time. So you’d be stuck with around 2.5x each attack.

I am fairly certain that with Sparkle, Seele should be capable of defeating none elites in a single attack unless it’s some augmented HP enemies. Also, due to Sparkle and FX being overall SP positive and Seele more or less being neutral with the correct rotation with Sparkle, it leaves SW to be able to skill much more often. (One skill and normal is required for Seele to get 2x Sparkles turn, you normal on the unbuffed turn of.) There is also the fact that if you have E2+ SW, SW herself is a very solid DPS. Like mine.

          • So the answer is what? E0s1 sparkle is still better than e2s1 bronya for a mono quantum team?

          • I didn’t have the budgets for any eidolon because E6S5 worth as much as my monthly salary. 🙁

My SW does some neglectible damage but she has 110+ EHR, 182 speed, and decent hitpoints and defense and I’m pretty satisfied.

          • I feel you. ;-; No budget here also but i’ve been aiming for mono quantum day 1. As such i got E2 SW and E2 FX because i knew they would last the team forever. E0 Seele tho as i expect her to be replaced sooner or later. I will be getting E2 Sparkle as well and then i’ll finally focus on getting Eidolons for my team 2 since i only have E0 for them. Only then will i go for a team 3 or 4 but i expect them to use some of the same units as team 2. Though Perfect Fiction has made me consider a bit more about AoE units. Imma try to pull for 1 or 2 of them along the way but yea E0 only.

  2. I need help in understanding one of her traces. “The CRIT DMG Boost effect provided by the Skill lasts until the start of this unit’s next turn.” But what is “this unit”? Does “this” mean as in Sparkle? Or the unit she is going to buff? I’m hoping that it simply just means that this makes her SP neutral so we can have a rotation like Skill–>Basic–>Skill.

    • She is not SP neutral with her skill alone. She is after using her ult, but she needs to skill every turn to keep the buff up. It is still a 1 time buff per use, it just lasts longer than the end of your buffed chars turn. Sadly over the course of 3 turns she only generates 1SP for your team. But heck, for a char that uses her skill every turn, that’s super impressive.

  3. after seeing Imbibitor & Hanabi notALeak video, still stay with my previous opinion that she should be generalized and revamp that mono quantum traces

i know there are character with those kind of traces but c’mon she is not 4-star character, and dev need to make sure lots of people with different setup can pull and use her on full potential except dots team since dot doesn’t crit (dot team enjoyer should just get Ruan Mei btw)

if she can cleanse debuff like Bronya it’s gonna be good. not everyone run with abundance and FuXuan can only resist them once every skill use. (welp, can play arround with CC timing since there is skill point pool)

btw, if i lose 50/50 on lightcone banner will Bronya Lightcone S3 good for her? as far as i can tell CDMG above 200% start scale pretty low

        • Yea sorry, I don’t know why you keep include Eidolons in as if everyone will get it. E0 should be the baseline when giving advices unless someone ask about Eidolons themselves

E0 would most likely provide 88% CDMG x 58% DMG Bonus, 30% Quantum bonus in mono Quantum, 4 SP and 50% Turn advance for majority of players out there. Remove Quantum bonus she just feel a bit tad better than Bronya with SP being entirely positive. But from the math Bronya still give higher damage boosts if they are both at E0 level, so anyone with good SP managing skill won’t find Sparkle all that great. Here is the raw calculation between Sparkle and Bronya solo, full team will give different result but this should at least tell you that Bronya damage amplify is still better because ATK% boost is just that good when DPS has high ATK

          Sparkle: ( 3000 ATK x 300% Scaling ) x 1.88 CDMG x 1.58 x DMG Bonus x 0.5 DEF x 1 RES x 1 DMG Taken x 0.9 Toughness = 12,030.12
          Bronya: ( [ 3000 ATK x 1.55% ] x 300% Scaling ) x 1.52 CDMG x 1.76 DMG Bonus x 0.5 DEF x 1 RES x 1 DMG Taken x 0.9 Toughness = 16,793.568

Now Include S1 because a lot of people can go that far

          Sparkle: ( 3000 ATK x 300% Scaling ) x 2.264 CDMG x 1.58 x DMG Bonus x 0.5 DEF x 1 RES x 1 DMG Taken x 0.9 Toughness = 14,487.336
          Bronya: ( [ 3000 ATK x 1.55% ] x 300% Scaling ) x 1.52 CDMG x 2.06 DMG Bonus x 0.5 DEF x 1 RES x 1 DMG Taken x 0.9 Toughness = 19,656.108

          Assume 300% CDMG Sparkle

          Sparkle: ( 3000 ATK x 300% Scaling ) x 2.48 CDMG x 1.58 x DMG Bonus x 0.5 DEF x 1 RES x 1 DMG Taken x 0.9 Toughness = 15,869.52

          With Quantum

          Sparkle: ( 3000 ATK x 300% Scaling ) x 2.48 CDMG x 1.88 x DMG Bonus x 0.5 DEF x 1 RES x 1 DMG Taken x 0.9 Toughness = 18,882.72 ( still less than Bronya ? )

If she isn’t going to work well with DHIL then that will make most people rethinking twice of getting her, because her hype comes from being able to generate huge SP to the team so DHIL can spam his lv 3 attacks every turn. Throw DHIL aside we have QQ, which will be benefit a lot from Sparkle, however QQ is already working with Bronya well if QQ is E6. Follow up DPS or non ATK scaling DPS are the only type that will want Sparkle instead of Bronya because anyone else ( currently ) is already working well with Bronya, on top of Bronya still give out better dmg boost.

          • There are several things you’re not considering. Up time, base DPS stats and diminishing returns. Sparkle in no world has the same crit damage as Bronya, so giving them the same is also not a point you can make. Thankfully you added her extra crit damage after. The maths i’ve done indicates that the DPS already has 100% damage and 150% crit damage.

Bronya has 2.34x multiplier at 50/25% up time. Sparkle has 1.96x/2.18x (If she is limited to lets say 250% crit damage+ multiplier at 100/66% up time. Yes, at E0 Bronya does have the overall stronger buff WHEN you are buffed. However, her up time is a hell of a lot lower than Sparkles uptime is.

Another thing you have to consider is the base DPS attack stat. The reason for this because of how Sparkles advance and how Bronya’s advance works.

With a 50% advance, unless your DPS is much faster than Sparkle you’re not getting an extra turn. So in terms of making the most out of it, you don’t want to build into speed at all and allow Sparkle to carry your turns with her advance. This allows you to build 0 subs into your DPS which allows you to focus on more DPS based stats.

With a 100% advance, as long as you’re DPS is faster they will always gain an extra turn. So because of this you want your DPS to have more speed than Bronya, which takes up stats that you could have used for DPS and also limits the speed you can give to your Bronya. E2 changes this a bit but well… you said yourself lets focus on E0. Your DPS will want at least 134 speed, which requires speed boots and on average 9 speed stats from subs which is normally 4 sub stats.

With Sparkle however, your DPS could put all of those stats into attack. Attack boots and 4 subs average to around 66% more attack that you’re not giving to your DPS to make your calculations. So lets try again shall we?

            DPS 2600 x 2.34 = 6084 effective attack.
            DPS 3425 x 1.96 = 6713 effective attack.
            DPS 3425 x 2.18 = 7466 effective attack.

Along with this you have 50/25 up time vs 100/66 up time. I shouldn’t have to tell you what a difference that makes.

Now one argument you do have with Bronya is the extra turn. Bronya at 130 speed to allow your 134 DPS to outspeed her will give an extra turn at that pace. But Sparkle can have 160 speed, and advances your DPS up to that speed even when they have 90 speed overall. The issue is, Bronya will only even really buff your DPS at all during the extra turn that she grants, and out of the 4 attacks you can do outside of extra turns, only 1 out of the 4 even receive her ult buff. But lets give her ult 50% up time since i will also be giving Sparkles ult another 33% up time. (Brona’s ult is a bigger buff.) With every 3 extra turns Bronya gives your DPS, Sparkle will give pretty much 1 extra turn because of her speed by comparrison.

            6084 + 2600 + 6084 + 2600 + 6084 + 2600 = 26,052
            vs
            6713 + 6713 + 6713 + 6713 = 26,852
            7466 + 7466 + 7466 + 7466 = 29.864

            Sparkle wins at her lowest.

          • I also noticed that you’re math isn’t even correct… First of all. 100% damage is a 2x buff, not a 1x buff. Second of all how can 1.88×1.58 be lower than 1.77×1.52…

          • Be nice if we could edit/delete our own message. My message above this one is incorrect. But still, you give 0 other stats and just took it as a 3000 base attack DPS using a 300% skill with 0 other stats, which is why your comparison overall is still flawed.

          • This is why i love edits. ;-;

Bronya’s attack boost isn’t overall x1.55 it’s base x1.55. In other words you give that buff waaaaay too much power in your own calculations.

For example 1300 base and 3000 after attack% x1.55 is 3715. NOT 4650. So yea, your maths was wrong after all.

          • Another one who thinks Bronya is better than Sparkle purely looking at buff number.
They should start considering where the buff comes from, what does it take to give the buff, how often can she gives the buff.
Man, they should do a simulation with both character in a team for like 5 cycles or less to see who is the clear winner.

I’d be surprised if Bronya is the winner. They have pretty similar kit, almost the same. One is standard (you can get one from 300 pulls) and the other one is limited. For those who play since day one, I bet you are pretty close from 300 pulls. Imagine if Bronya is better than Sparkle. Just get Bronya, save your money or jade.
Or maybe get both for 2 sides of MoC. 😀

Koknosphere, buff her in v3, make her shine even more brighter than Bronya, so I don’t need to use my brain and just pull for her.

          • @KekShook Didn’t really say Bronya is better overall to be fair, what I meant is she is still pretty close for being a standard and Sparkle is not that that super far off nor offer really anything new beside more dmg, I would rather have an actual SP generator with 75% of her current buff capabilities for DHIL/QQ or any future heavy SP characters

    • She’s not for what you want her to be for, she’s for what Hoyo want her to be for. She does not even do that well with DHIL, Tingyun does better with him than Sparkle is going too. So Imo if you’re DHIL main and you want a buffer for him, use Tingyun and skip Sparkle.

Tingyun/Pela gives more than enough for DHIL and i don’t see Sparkle adding much to it, especially when they give more than enough SP as well. Just seems like a waste of pulls, as you’re literally using Sparkle at 1/3rd of her potential.

if you think she is good enough without further buff/revamp then so be it, but for me it is not.

who wants to pull a LIMITED BANNER character, going for E2/S1 just for Qingque and Seele? i want her to fully utilized for other DPS too. i know there will be future quantum character but it doesn’t guarantee i will like that character enough to make a pull. well it’s from non meta slave perspective.

        • I Do. I will E6S5 Sparkle (…Mabey) just for Qingque and Seele. Mono quantum is one of the two teams that I use (other being Jingliu/Ruan Me/Bronya/HuoHuo) So I want to beef up that team (while staying Mono Quantum) any way I can so that I never have to use any other teams.

I don’t see the issue in having a limited char for a specific use in mind. She is made for that and she will be for that but nothing says the player cannot just work around that or ignore it completely. People will get her regardless because they love her looks or her voice. Most will just get her for waifu purposes and make her work and not care about meta because when everyone is a meta slave…nobody will be.

Yes I do understand not everyone just has jades lying around to get whomever they want. They have to ask themselves if
the character they are attempting to get is one of value….but where is the fun in that.

          Don’t ask
          Don’t hesitate
          Just pull
If ur asking, u want it
          Pull first, ask question later
          Something will come
          You’ll win something good
          Believe in urself

  4. I don’t get it whats her total buffs ?

on 200 crit she gives 88 crit for a single ally
48% damage on ult for 2 turns, 4 sp back ,needs to spam skill anyway so +1 sp back only ( she sends the other 3)

    30% extra damage for quantum
    half a turn adavance

    Bronya gives
on 200 crit 52 crit for entire team
66% damage for single ally +10% entire team from trace
    55%atk
    -3 sp if you spam

    a full turn advance

gives a little more crit damage, no atk, more sp. only worth on single dps builds.
seems sparkle is only worth it for SP eaters like QQ and IDL , but she prefers quantum.. a 5star harmony dedicated to a 4star? wtf?

I don’t get how she is BrOkEn!?

    • I think she is an alternative Bronya ver for Follow up or immediately turn advanced dps ( Jingliu ), but more focus on Quantum ( assume a new 5* destruction Quantum may be out soon ). But yea she is not that great by the sound of it currently, there should be something more like 5 SP recover instead of 4 and maybe some ATK% as well, or make her buff last 2 turns instead of end of her next turn so she can become more SP postive or dual carry possible. I am rolling her since I like her animation anyway, if she don’t get any improvement I guess I will stop at E0 instead of E0S1

    • You obviously have not read everything else said here. I compare Sparkle to Bronya on page 2 and show just how much more powerful Sparkle is than her.

First of all, Sparkle is more likely to be at 300 crit damage than 200% crit damage. Second of all, she has 100%/66% up time (100%/100% at E1.) compared to Bronya’s 50%/25% up time. Bronya may give an extra turn, but her skill only buffs that extra turn, not her normal turn. While Sparkle allows you to ignore the speed stat on your DPS and build 180 speed on Sparkle which overall will make your DPS have almost as many turns as she does with Bronya while giving more buffs.

Sparkles buffs are 130% crit damage, 48% damage increase with 78% for quantum and 54%/84% at E2 along with 12% def ignore.

With her LC she gives 15% crit rate and 24% crit damage for free for your entire team. Allowing you to more than likely throw away even more crit rate on your DPS to get even more attack % or crit damage %.

Overall Bronya gives 2.34x damage buff at 50/25% up time.

Overall Sparkle gives 2.18% damage buff at 100%/66% up time. At E2 she gives 2.7x damage buff at 100%/100% up time. (Which is why i suggest getting LC and E2. While remaining SP positive, buffing your DPS speed massively and allowing you to build a much stronger base DPS than you can with Bronya.

      • I agree with most of what you said expect for the first part. 300% crit dmg not achievable for most players. With her SIG LC and her traces with a crit dmg chest piece she is at 170%. Getting 30% crit dmg just form substats alone you have to be INSANELY lucky. So i will say the average Sparkle has around 200% crit dmg wich is still good because that means she gives 66% crit dmg at just talent Lv. 6. In comparison my Bronya “just” gives 47% at Lv. 6.

        • That’s simply not true. Let me explain why.

          Sparkles crit damage
          50% – Normal
          24% – Traces
64% – LC (The 40% + the 24% that has 100% up time with Sparkle using it.)
          64% – CD Top Piece

This alone puts her at 202% already and is not even counting any sub stats or other characters.

If you use her with E1 FX using the 2/pc team CD boost set, then that’s an extra 40% added to it for a 242% crit damage without any sub stats. From this, you just need to find crit damage pieces that will have an average of around 12% for 2 sub stats. This is totally achievable. 12% x 5 pieces = 60% crit damage.

My Sparkle with the piece i already farmed for her has over 300% crit damage.

    • Probably heard enough for me. I was just going to leave other people a chance to answer but it seems if i’ve not many people want to put their too cents in. (nb4 i drove everyone away.)

I think if it like this. RM has something other than buffing, however that something seems to be a much less of a deal than i thought it was going to be. Don’t get me wrong in SU she makes a difference but then… that’s not really hard is it? The weakness break stuff she does is… kinda underwhelming to me. Like sure she slightly delay’s their recovery but then they just move again like 10 action points later. I was thinking that she’d pretty much outright apply the break effect for a second time but instead it just makes every weakness break like the freeze weakness break and calls it a day.

Sparkle is a better buffer, with E1 has 100% up time on all her buffs as long as your DPS does not out speed her which you don’t even want because you want her to BE your DPS speed. Show allows you to focus entirely on attack, while buffing your elemental damage and crit damage and then making speed redundant via making sure your DPS actions always match hers as long as she is not over 2x faster which is almost impossible. Your 91 speed Clara moves as often as your 180 speed Sparkle. THAT IS OVER POWERED AS HELL! That’s pretty much a 89 speed stat buff from her E along with the 130%+ crit damage she gives all the while she remains SP positive AT THE SAME TIME!

Honestly, imo it’s a no brainer. RM does not even come CLOSE to Sparkle. I first thought it was close, but after using Rm and seeing others use her… i am really not as impressed as i thought i’d be, but then again i may say the same about Sparkle. But i doubt it.

I’m saying this cause many people here always include them as if it’s normal, well no it’s not and it shouldn’t. Many early eidolons or lightcones of characters make them spike in overall power or utility compared to E0S0.

In any case, sparkle is still a question mark for me until I see more of her capabilities in actual combat. On paper, and like you said she seems FANTASTIC but I’m still waiting for more showcases.

      • RM buffs come close enough to Bronya ( about 5% – 10% gap in my tests ) while also being better for dual DPS teams ( even if you have little interest in them it is still an extra option to play with) and as well as DoT teams. Break efficient add sustain value and RM also deal decent break dmg ( up to 40k – 60k+ ) when she or DPS break Elites/Bosses while Ult is up. She is SP positive just as well as Sparkle without needing rely on Ult and since you speak of E1, RM E1 would be better imo. But let not talk about Eidolons because not everyone have the luxury nor luck to go for such upgrade

From my perspective of view, Sparkle gives better dmg than Bronya ( maybe ) and Ruan Mei, while also works with Follow-up char or Turn advanced DPS like Jingliu, her SP positive is technically Bronya E1S1 with no usage CD. While Ruan Mei is more universally better for majority of players, the sustain value is great for 0 cycles 3 buffers run for new MoC 12 also, but that too is not top priority for most players. Either way I wouldn’t say RM doesn’t even come close to Sparkle, they are pretty close to each other consider all the benefits giving the situations, if you fight a bunch of CC enemies and get CC then Sparkle wouldn’t be as Ideal, even if you have sustain to prevent it once or remove it, they will still get turn delay ( unless your DPS are also cracked as hell to one shot them, which 90%+ of players probably won’t be able to relate ). While RM can help breaking them easier to prevent most ( or entirely ) of it so your other sustain only need to save you once if you still get CC, which can result in faster clear

Of all fairness you need to consider more than just buff numbers, values differs depend on account current strength. Running them both together seems like going to be a new best support dou tho. Anyway, if one main QQ or Seele, I am pretty sure she is a must pull. Which I am getting her : D

        • Imo i look at is as Sparkle has close to RM buffs + Makes speed redundant. I’ll explain why i consider Sparkle way better like this. At E2/S1 RM gives a 2.5x multiplier. At E2/S1 Sparkle gives a 2.7x multiplier. You also have to cosnider that Sparkle has 100% up time on skill and ult. While RM has 100% up time on her skill, her ult actually only has 50% up time.

RM DPS will need 134 speed at least, which quires speed boots and at on average around 9 subs stats which is equal to around 4 subs.

Sparkle DPS however needs 0 speed stats at all. If you get attack% boots and have those 4 subs being attack% instead, you’d find a DPS that has 66% extra attack with Sparkle than what they have with RM. On average a good DPS has around 1250 base attack. So a 66% attack buff adds an extra 825 attack.

RM DPS would have 2600 Atk x 2.5x multiplier from RM = 6500 effective Atk.

SK DPS would have 3425 Atk x 2.7 multiplier from SK = 9250 effective Atk.

But this isn’t even it. Since Sparkle makes the DPS act as fast as she can act. You can have a Sparkle that has 160 speed easily, and as a result she also makes the DPS have 160 speed. This means that not only does the DPS with Sparkle have WAY more effective attack power, but also even more speed.

Sorry, i just don’t see how it’s even close. With a solo sustain, RMs ability to help sustain your team is pretty irrelevant. Especially because Sparkles buffs allow you to end the battle earlier. Sometimes MUCH earlier.

          • E2S1 already a hard thing to consider getting. The question was being their overall value, E0 I would lean toward Ruan Mei more for the value she offers, while Sparkle will be second for more damage and easier to perform than Bronya. I am pretty sure Sparkle will gives more dmg but as of the value of universal I see Ruan Mei is better for majority of players while not missing out too much damage

I don’t see how it is really irrelevant with the sustain part, she is currently give a good enough dmg buff that is not far behind Bronya while offer something that can be like Bronya cleanse. There are fight where they can still do a CC or two on either your supports or DPS that delay the fight massively even running with Fu xuan or Huohuo, even if I put Yukong/Tingyun/Pela + Bronya in it is hard to one shot Elites without Eidolons on the DPS or run 3 buffers. I swapped to RM and I simply don’t even get a single CC or delay from them self heal without the need of Pela/Loucha, because Elites got break and delayed before they can even apply it on me, result much faster and safer clear. Your point would be more relevant if you are able to one shot them which I hardly see anyone at E0 ( or even S1 ) DPS can without running 3 buffers in MoC 12, which again is my point she is not entirely universal for majority of players. I doubt Sparkle at E0 will make E0 DPS one shot any elites

You are too depending on her Eidolons when giving the opinions imo, which is what I can’t entirely relate with when giving a general advice unless specifically ask for their Eidolons perform, the same with Light cone. Bronya currently can do most of what Sparkle can minus the SP ( can be improve with SP managing skill ) and working with FUA char or self turn advanced. And don’t misunderstand, I like her and do think she is better than Bronya, but as for RM they value are pretty near each others at E0 consider what they can offer for general basis of players and not just optimizing players alone. Including E2S1 as a standard point is insane for me

Even most character guide/ Theorycrafters advice maintain a character strength around E0 as base and Eidolons at the last part for spenders.

          • There is a reason i give RM E2 as well. if you didn’t know, RM actually gains MORE from her Eidolons. So however better i say Sparkle is at E2 vs E2. Sparkles that much better at E0 vs E0.

    • Sauce-kun it’s best that you following Reina advice, the plan might coming to ruin if rework to her kit happening, but going for RM right now may not worth it. you wait for Sparkle, i also doing just that.

If all your party’s elements align, your enemies will drop like flies, and offers quasi-defensive value as well.

As for hypercarries, I think Sparkle gives more value, though she compete with Bronya in some circumstances.
Ruan Mei isn’t bad either, 68% dmg bonus + 25% res pen, among others, aren’t meager buffs. She also improves the damage potentials of supports like Pela, Asta, SW, Fu Xuan and Yukong, who already have offensive kits. And again, if all elements align, the break effect is additional value.

For DoTs and dual dps teams, Ruan Mei is the best right now.

No more speed shoes, no more speed subs all attack % or crit stats. That’s a major advantage. Not even Bronya allows you to do that because while she has 100% advance it’s used as an extra turn, but to get that extra turn your DPS has to be faster than Bronya instead of slower thus making you still have to build up on the speed stat. Think of the application and don’t compare it to Bronya. It’s not for the same thing.

With 50% advance from skill DPS can do 2 turn with crit buff, but without it, 4 skill points from ult will be conusume by Sparkle it’s self to refresh buff every turn or two which do first and second trace is useless and reduce effectivnice for QQ and DHIL that need thouse skill points. Of course every hit without speed will be stronger, but in long run DPS will spend more time to charge ult which reduce total damage with time.

  7. What do you guys think about pulling Sparkle for Dr. Ratio?

I was thinking Dr Ratio + Silverwolf (debuff applier) + Sparkle + Aventurine since he looks like he’s supposed to be a shielder with sub DPS potential.

Was hoping Sparkle would allow each of these units to always use their skill? If every of these unit can constantly use their skill then they will get Ult faster and basically spam skill/ult. If it’s a good team I may even invest into eidolons on these characters since SW can be built more like a sub DPS with E2

She’s like in the middle of Bronya and Yingyun. She won’t allow you to spam SP with everyone but she does not waste your teams SP either. She’ll do fine with Dr Ratio.

But for the time being i’d imagine it’s number 1. E6 is the one thing Imo that needs a buff. I’d swap it out for like 80% attack increase to allies effected by her buff. Attack % is the only buff she does not give, so it’s something her skil would scale insanely well with and would be a E6 worthy of such a strong character. But i doubt they will give it to her, because then making someone better would be nearly impossible.

    • To allow 2x turn Seele? Well i estimate Seele needs 176 speed with a 144 speed Sparkle. This is to allow a Skill, Normal, Skill, Normal rotation to keep Seele SP neutral and to make sure she gets 2x turns. If you have Seele at E2 though i’d guess you’d go a bit over 200 speed as well if you get E1 Sparkle. At that point Sparkle could handle being 161 after ult which is a speed break point.

      • Seele is E6, with 117 unbuffed SPD (175 E2 stacked). For Sparkle, my spared set has 141 SPD and it isn’t completed yet (missing the ornaments, I will use Penacony) so I can achieve these 144 points. Thank you for taking your time :).

        • After being correct, i feel i should inform you that the double turn rotation for Seele is a no go. Normal attacking in the buffed state is a bad idea as the next action that would push you in front of Sparkle will NOT be buffed. After finding this out, i suggest a rotation where you always skill on the turn you get buffed, and if Seele moves again before Sparkle to just normal attack to gain SP, move closer to moving again AFTER you do receive another buff.

I’ll now be looking at buffing QQ instead investing in pure attack% stats instead of any speed to make maximum use of Sparkles advance until another quantum DPS comes out that can do it better.

          • Well, that was the idea, I use Bronya (E1) and I always do Skill + Normal (if I proc Resurgence, Skill x2 then). But even with this rotation, my SP doesn’t stay positive in the long run so Hanabi will fix this for sure.
