Subsequently, she was invited by Herta to collaborate with Screwllum and Stephen to develop the Simulated Universe. Privately, she revels in traditional theater and desserts, and she is also very interested in embroidery. |

Her insignificant anticipation always gave her mother's research an inviting smell. Starting from their home, a planet blessed by Abundance, they boarded research aircraft and set off to more worlds. Surrounded by flash bombs, silk headscarves, ribbons, and embroidery, the girl embraced joy amongst "lifeforms" created by spiraling and ascending data. Since then, whenever someone asked her about her "home," there would be a flash of confusion in her eyes. She seems to have forgotten everything. In such a state, she started working around the clock on her calculations. She was so engrossed in her research that she never ate regularly. When she was on a roll, she could spend entire days and nights working on research without sleeping, and only dozed off when she hit her limit. Soon, she was only relying on the faint glow of fyreflies to gather her research results every night. The more dismissive she was of the existing laws of life, the quicker she progressed. She simply observed, assessed with her hands, held the data in her palm to feel it, then proceeded to concoct new laws for species. As a result, the ferns and flowers in her lab flourished ever more. They grew at a speed visible to the human sight, and ultimately filled every space in the lab. In the space between the flowers and leaves laid the serene and emotionless countenance of her parents, formed by the aggregation of "data." The moment her sleeping "parents" were about to open their eyes — By then, she had nearly destroyed the existing laws of biological evolution on the entire planet, yet she still marched on toward her goal. It wasn't until she looked up from her research and stared at the sky did she notice the gaze of the Erudition had descended upon her. |

her dmg (aside from basics, but those are basically nonexistant) scales from break effect, so you want to use that on her. you’d also want spd on her so she gets more turns and if you can get enough for talia’s active then it’s good, but it’s only 16% break effect. spd is important on any character (only exception i can think of is clara) and because you can’t have break effect main stat on feet relic, you should use spd for ruan mei
she could use talia, but other sets like broken keel, fleet of the ageless, or penacony (if using jingliu, yanqing, or a dps build ice support) might be better than the extra break effect, we’ll have to wait and see tho

Indeed, it doesn’t. Break DMG consists of Base ATK + Break Effect. Damage multipliers (including Elemental Damage) are later in the damage equation, which means it doesn’t benefit Break DMG stat.
It’s misleading to claim it uses Base ATK (which is the character’s + LC’s base ATK).
To be specific, it’s a value or “level multiplier” based on character level.

Jing Yuan and Jingliu huh? pretty good with Ruan Mei Kuromi, they’re among the best breaker and lack any form of DMG bonus to begin with. now they’ll break even harder and stronger, she having to distribute too much stats to break aren’t a cons if you get her LC. to summary, we pull for Ruan Mei to give buffs and deal minor additional damage with break, a safe choice to do so, except if next Harmony are outright better.
She may not be as useful but she would be a good future investment as you gain more characters. Her teamwide buffs also lend well to dps and sub dps teamcomps which could be useful to you with only 2 banner dps. Though you may just want to wait and see how she compares when not matching elements.

@sayaka doesnt matter, since Ruan Mei gives elemental pen, you can just brute force the enemies anyway. Normally in fight most enemies have 20% res to the element they’re not weak to. It’s true that you may lose some dmg buff when the enemies are not in toughness break state, but with all the base buff + pen, they probably dead before their toughness bar’s depleted. It’s more than enough to put her in the team and brute force every type of enemies.
@Sayana I am pretty sure you are not reading nor playing the game instead, the reply was refer to the independent buffs reply, and even so, Ruan Mei is not entirely depend on toughness break, in fact, she may be a good viable brute force option as she give 25% RES PEN all-type to punch through no weakness 20% RES. And if you somehow disagree, read her kit again. What really depend on toughness break are mostly her own extra break dmg when ally break an enemy, and Crown control recover delay on toughness broke enemies ( delay 1 turn ) and her E2 + E4, all of her ally DMG/SPD buff will works as long E and Ult are active.
Read it again, her dmg buff doesn’t need a break, it activates in every condition, even if you don’t have matching elements with the enemies, ruan mei could still provide you a dmg buff, the only thing that becomes useless is the weakness efficiency buff and the delay from her ulti when enemies recovered from weakness break.
Nah, “Ruan Mei can’t be useful” is braindead, Without the break Ruan gives (DMG+32%)+(All Res Pen+25%)+(DMG+36%)+(DMG+24%) and (Ignore Def+20%) at E1, all in 1 character 🙂

She doesn’t need to be the one breaking the enemy weakness, so as long as you have a DPS that matches the enemies’ weakness (doesn’t have to be ice element) then her entire kit is still at full use. I have no idea if you just skimmed her kit, saw “Weakness Break”, then concluded that it’s pretty useless

1. Break efficiency 50% ( skill ) and Break effect 20% ( node ) to team
2. Attempt recover from toughness break will be delay by 1 more turn
3. Ruan Mei personal break dmg from her kit
4. E2 40% ATK when there is a toughness break present ( unimportant for F2P )
5. E4 100% Break effect to herself ( unimportant for F2P )
What will always work regardless
1. 32% Dmg increase from E up
2. 36% Dmg increase from having 180% Break effect
3. 25% RES PEN to all type when Ult
4. 10% SPD to team
5. 20% Ignore DEF to team when Ult ( Unimportant for F2P but hey it is pretty good to consider )
Summary, she still works regardless you have correct weakness DPS or not, if you do have them correct then you enjoy some extra dmg from her kit ( I doubt it would be that huge deal ) and more CC to weakness break enemies. And since you have Jing Yuan and Jingliu, that already covered Lightning and Ice, soon you get Free Dr.Ratio ( Imaginary ), you should also have at least a Hook ( Fire, and if you don’t that is fine cause only Fire is missing ) and obviously Dan Heng ( Wind ) and Physical Trailblazer and a Qingque ( Quantum ). You have all the options and all of them while not brokenly strong, are good enough with strong supports like Ruan Mei to fight hard contents. If you don’t want 4* option then that is on you bro, good day
