Character Details | Aedes Elysiae, a remote frontier village isolated from the world, now lives on only in cryptic legends. The Nameless hero, ████████, the Chrysos Heir holding the Coreflame of "Worldbearing," memorizes the ideals of the entire world, carries the fate of millions, and brings the first light of dawn to the new world —"But if dawn should never come, let this fury consume this body, and rise as tomorrow's blazing sun!" |
Character Story: Part I | Aedes Elysiae, the boy's hometown. The village lived by the rhythm of the sun: working at daybreak, resting at sundown, just like his own life, simple and unadorned. In a tiny schoolhouse that could barely fit a handful of students, the boy drifted off during a droning history lesson, his thoughts floating away with the wood shavings dancing from his hands. Stroke by stroke, the figure of a warrior slowly emerged from the block of wood hidden in his desk drawer. "A mighty greatsword... only a blade like that could match this strength..." He sharpened the edges of the wood chip in the sunlight. "Armor scarred by honor, a cloak like wings soaring through the storm." "And then..." "Phainon! If you want to be the strongest warrior... you'd better start paying attention." Miss Pythias never gets tired of dragging him back to reality. The boy preferred the training yard stacked with hay bales far more than school. It was his battlefield — where scarecrows turned into charging soldiers, or wild beasts on the rampage. When he was not at school, he often spent entire days there with his carved wooden comrades, until the smell of cooking wafted from every household. Beneath the cool shade of the trees, the exhausted boy could fall asleep right on the grass. In his broken dreams, he gazed at city-states he had never seen and witnessed grand tales unfold. "Go... become a hero." That voice, like the endless waves of wheat in Aedes Elysiae, guided the boy onto the road of adventure. * Unlocked at Character Level |
Character Story: Part II | Facing the young drifter from afar, the weaver and the childlike seer would sometimes speak of the Flame-Chase and Chrysos Heirs. The weaver's sightless eyes seemed to see through his inner turmoil, while the seer's bright innocence gave him a warm sense of home. "So... the Chrysos Heirs were destined by the heavens?" The young man asked, gathering his courage. The weaver shook her head. "No. It's more like a long, grueling pilgrimage." The young man tucked away the wheat-scented memories of his past and joined the holy city's legion, training day and night until difficult swordplay became as natural as breathing. In a death match that stunned the world, he battled the crown prince of Kremnos for ten days and nights. In each sweeping strike, he wielded his blade as if he'd already offered up his life without hesitation. Of course, more often than not, the young man greeted the world with humor and ease. "I just want people to feel comfortable around me," he would say. Though his friends often scoffed at that, they knew it was that very spirit that earned the silver-haired youth the trust and respect of commoners and nobles alike in the holy city. During his years of study at the Grove, even though he had little interest in logic, the young man often triumphed in debates with his sharp wit after poring over books until the pages wore thin. Though he could not outcompete his teacher's wisdom, deep down he knew — it was the courage to stay true to himself that he still lacked. Yet when the young man returned from the battlefield and after the physician had bandaged his wounds, there was still a long silence. "Lord Phainon... do you often wake in the night, or find yourself unable to sleep?" He didn't mind. To walk the path that would strike down the gods themselves, he had to carve himself into the shape the people needed him to be. * Unlocked at Character Level |
Character Story: Part III | The god who wielded the Lightning Spear fell into madness. In the battle named Strife, the man and his comrade gave the mad god the final release. In the debate where the Coreflame of Reason was contested, the man faced down his old mentor and witnessed a brutal execution. On the battlefield of the Sky, he crossed the rainbow bridge, piercing the gloom with the burning light of the sun, lighting the perilous road ahead. "Deliverer, lead us forward." Hearing those words of relief from the weaver, he felt only a bitter ache, a worry he refused to show in front of the crowd. The crown prince of Kremnos, scarred by a thousand deaths, entrusted his people to him. "Don't worry. I'll look after them for you." The seer, her body split into countless pieces, faded away, and he took up the oath she had sworn before her journey. "Miss Tribbie, I will live to see that morrow filled with the radiance of stars..." The scholar raced toward death in search of truth. The Holy Maiden embraced her lonely fate. "In the next life, truth will be revealed, and life and death will find their rightful place." The weaver found eternal rest in a golden bath. The fleet-footed rogue stopped in regret. The healer who once roamed the skies would never again return to the earth. "With my body as kindling, I will become the blaze that lights the new world." The man could not shed tears, but used these searing pains to carve such memories into his mind. Bearing the hopes of all people, he staggered toward the mountain peak where the morning sun rises. He believed that, one day, the dawn would break through the endless night of Amphoreus. "But should dawn have never existed..." He had asked himself that question thousands of times. Now, heading toward the blazing, merciless end, he carved the final mark of "Phainon"— "Let the fires of rage burn this body to ashes and transform into the blazing sun of tomorrow!" * Unlocked at Character Level |
Character Story: Part IV | As he had countless times before, he once again saw it through the blaze — Morning light pouring over the wheat fields of Aedes Elysiae, bathing the village in a golden glow. "Feels like... I've had this dream a thousand times before..." The boy rubbed his sleepy eyes as he woke beneath the tree. In the dream, the sun fell from the sky, the statue of a hero crumbling, melting, shattering, consuming the world in flames. In the dead silence, a familiar figure, charred and broken, trudged alone into the endless darkness. "That figure burned itself away... and everything else around it too..." The boy stared blankly at the unfinished wooden carving. The searing anger and deep self-loathing from the dream still echoed through his heart. "Maybe that broken world... is calling out for a hero..." "What will the future look like?" Lying back on the soft, golden straw, the boy pictured an epic tale unfolding before his eyes. "Maybe the hero will roam the world, righting wrongs, solving impossible problems, yet leaving no name behind... "Carrying a mysterious past, defying a cruel fate, and vanquishing fearsome enemies. "When the world teeters on the brink, they'll honor their vow with a heart pure and true — wherever they go, peace and prosperity will follow... "Even if they fall a hundred times, a thousand times, a million times... A hero can be destroyed, but never defeated..." ... If nothing had changed... The days at Aedes Elysiae would have continued to drift by quietly, just as they always had. That tiny ember had already been planted deep in his heart at the start of his journey. When the boy grew into a young man, when he once again stood at the ferry, setting out toward distant lands... He would rush toward the future, forgetting the broken dreams he left behind. He wouldn't realize how long and arduous the road ahead would be — not until he had used himself as the kindling to feed a futile flame. Only when he reached the end would he learn how far he had come. One last time, he would remember that morning when the sun first rose and who he was when he carved the first shape of his ideals. In the years to come, he would give that person a new name: "Deliverer." And so, his name faded into the scattered fragments of memory. * Unlocked at Character Level |

If you’re wondering if you should pull for meta value. Don’t. I pulled E2S1 and here is my feedback :
– At this level of investment (E2S1) he is still underwhelming. You can only do 1 cycle on his most broken shilled MoC buffs.
– He is super clunky and to be fair he is not enjoyable to play. I kicked him off my team on overworld, and DU.
– He doesn’t allow many team comp. It’s basically Phainon, harmony, harmony, harmony. You can replace a harmony unit by a sustain but then he will falls off HARD.
– At E0, he is not good at all on PF, and mid in APOC.
– When you won’t be able to finish the fight within 2 ult, you will need to replace one of your harmony unit and replace it by a sustain unit, which will decrease even more his damage output.
– Because he massively overcaps on dmg amp bonus (atk%, dmg%, crit dmg%), his future potential is doomed and he will be powercrept very quickly. The only way to amp his damage output efficiently is using a debuffer (def shred, RES PEN, vulnerability) but as of now only nihility units can provide this, but they won’t be able to AA nor provide him coreflame to activate his ult.
– On a good note he has excellent animations.
I got him E2S1 in 200 pulls and I still feel scammed. If I could go back I wouldn’t have pulled for him.
when im in a spreding missinformation contest and my oponent is dong dong
0 cycle require advance not brainless gameplay duh, my E0S1 Phainon clear current MOC 12 within 1 cycle only using RMC, E0S5DDD Sparkle, and E1S1 Bronya. I don’t even have Sunday nor his LC
Also it took me 219 pull for E0S1 Phainon, so at least be grateful. I’m in top 1% of Unluckiest HSR Player (i need 140 pull for 1 limited char in average meanwhile 120 for LC) as low budget player yet i never felt scammed except for Sparkle bc she’s blatantly powercreeped left and right by fraud sibling.
What in skill issue is this, E2S1 Phainon can’t even 0 cyle current MOC? lmao. Anyway you don’t need to 0 cyle tho, most of E2S1 DPS can’t even clear in 3 cyle using 3 cost team-mate.
Remember ppl often overhype Acheron, but before Jiaoqiu she’s pretty much clear the same cycle in MOC as Dr Ratio, Jingliu, or even Seele within the same investment.
– Holy, E2S1 can only do 1 cycle clear? What’s your teamcomp babe? My E2S1 Phainon with subpar relics and very mid rutilant planars clear in 0 cycle with plenty of time left and it’s my first time ever doing 0 cycle lmao, the closest before is my E0S1 Mydei. Anyways Phainon’s stats is: 136 SPD/2.5k Att/82:156 crit (-1 SPD setup), his team is E0S1 Sunday, E1S0 Bronya, and E0S0 RM.
– Neutral here. I played him in DU so many times and he’s just not that good taking advantage of the equations and blessings. Beside that… idk why you still pulled him until E2S1 even, when you find him not enjoyable. Like there’s a trial character you know.
– As if any other character has many teamcomps? Huh? Acheron with JQ/SW/Chiper/Aventurine/Galagher, Feixiao with the infamous FART and FARC, Mydei with Tribbie and Sunday/Sparkle/RMC, FF with Fugue/Lingsha/RM? Hello are we playing the same game here? You could play him with a sustain, E0S0 Huohuo just fine regenerating 3 Coreflames (my DU teams lol cuz running 3 harmony is just too risky), arguably much comfier to play but agree the damage falls off pretty substantially though it’s barely noticeable.
– I never actually tested it at E0 but considering that at E2 he’s in PF could comfortably do meteor in EVERY fkng TURN and even could do one rotation ult even without his Final Hit getting its turn, then yeah E0 probably subpar but then again isn’t Acheron struggling in PF before JQ? Idk, it must have been the wind. Also about AS, what criteria are you considering a unit is a mid? For me at least clearing 1.8k is excellently well serve, 1.5k is good, 1.3k+ is bare minimum. Again never had a chance to test it at E0 but at E2 with RM he clears at 1,840+ and if I replace RM with Huohuo he clears at 1,800+ it’s basically the same lol as long as it clear and both teams clears comfortably unless you want to achieve the impossible 2k clear, good luck with that.
– Sustain problem. Same argument with the other. Use Huohuo if you have her, else run with other sustain if NECESSARY.
– Yes I actually need to agree on this one. He’s basically just another JL if she’s an emanator lol. But eh looking over to his current best team I think there’s still a lot of room for improvement. You know there’s Tribbie that with half-nihility and with a crumble of Erudition kit, let it shimmer a bit there’s always a room for improvement. Yes I’m one of many OG E0S0 JY haver, having a complete opposite mentality of that Acherons main are a blessing in disguise.
– Yes animation and eargasm made me want to just spam the meteor attacks lol.
I got him E2S1 in also 200 pulls. Do I feel scammed? A bit when I find that I completely struggled in DU trying to advance level 7 to 8 like that stage is completely on different level than that MOC/AS/PF alike. But a lot of tries later I find something that the most broken thing he could do in DU abusing Blazar and Hunts blessing turn advance, since Blazars count’s keep going up in his ult and Hunts blessing basically keeping enemies on his current AV as long you can break or kill them. Anyways enough yapping.
Do I regret? No cuz he’s literally my first unit that I have that is on highest level of vertical investment lmaoo. Yes others that are LUCKY capped at E0S1 or my only lucky pull with E1 Argenti in 1.5. So there folks you have different POV whether to pull Phainon or not 🙂
Holy shit Dong Dong, your brain must be the size of your dong dong (small) if you can’t 0 cycle with E2S1 LMAO. Get good nerd
poor guy, hes very wrong but i still feel bad for him
holy, I agree that he’s not a broken character but damn, you’re so fucking bad at the game, just quit lol. e2s1 not 0cycling is insane, my e0s1 phainon will 0 cycle everything for the next 4 mocs at least
Here we go again smth, it’s always male chars get butchered kit! Just like the other said: He’s the most vulnerable to powercrept.
So much resriction that made him only viable in Hypercarry set-up meanwhile we know that every top meta team always consist of multiple damage dealer like:
– In Acheron team we had Jiaoqiu + Sw offering offensive skill & ult which is worth more than 600% multiplier aoe dmg combined
– Firefly with everyone on her team giving significant dmg contribution
– March 7th or Cypher on Feixiao team
– The most powecreep char with the most boring design which is non other than Castorice
On top of that he’s very slow, sp negative, and get trash eidolon!
That’s why i was hoping they would buff phainon but instead got nerfed, the Misandry behavior of HSR devs really needs to be studied at this point.

FIREFLY 2.0
is Phainon Yukong Tingyun Sunday a viable team? Yukong buffs wont expire when Phainon is in his ult so combined with Sunday + Tingyun you get a good amount of free Atk% crit + crit damage. Tingyun is probaly best holder for DDD in this team. Please correct me if i am wrong
There was a 0 cycle video out there using that team but RMC instead of Tingyun. So it’s probably a good team.
But just remember because of buff uptime + energy issues Yukong falls off a lot if you can’t finish the fight in one transformation.
sadly yukong doesnt give phainon any stacks because of how her dumbass kit works so your ult uptime will be an issue. it will be either 0/1 cycle in a single ult or barely clear if you dont
when his ults in effect I see that all actions conducted by him are considered as extra turns. in stages like moc, pf and as does this consider that by the time this ult ends 0 action value is progressed? or does it just yeet ur team mates, slow down ur turns and have everything else work the same? am I missing something here
During his ult he will have countdown timers, which when reached gives him an extra turn. Said timers have SPD 60% of Phainon’s base SPD (which at E0S0 gives them 56 SPD) and initial AV randomly between 0~100%. Meaning if you are insanely lucky, Phainon gets to act all 8 times with no AV progress; and with the worst luck possible, Phainon gets to act about once every other cycle. Normally it should be somewhere in between. They are considered extra turns so his buffs won’t decay.
