Anyone here know why people on Reddit are hyping Castorice as the next Acheron? Is she an expy of someone? or Reddit is being dumb as usual?
Hot characters means that people expect them to be good and meta-defining. If it’s not what they expected, expect a lot of disappointed people.
Also I don’t think she’s an expy of anyone from Hi3, unlike Acheron.
star rail is honestly starting to feel shitty because of the powercreep. I pulled Acheron and her lightcone plus Jiaoqiu only for a new 5 star to do better with a f2p team. It’s discouraging and just makes me wary of pulling anything. Like if I get Mydei or Aglaea now and they’re good for 4 months it just makes me feel like idk, Phainon and Castorice are gonna be 3 times better because hsr kit designers don’t know how to make characters sell except making them destroy older characters. Let me not even mentioned Jingliu and her lightcone. We used to say lightcone are a better investment than genshin weapons but that’s definitely not true anymore
That’s why I only pull for characters I like instead of meta characters..
Bro as long as your character can beat the content (even Seele can 0 cycle the last MoC) i genuily don’t understand why it would matter that your character is not the Best in the Game rn.
ther’s no PvP so beating the hard content is the only goal to achieve, no need to compare with others.
*also Jingliu did great in the last MoC (3rd fastest Dps to clean it).

no way seele can beat anything at 0 cycles at C0, be serious. and it’s not about being the best. i wouldn’t care if I could easily beat everything. but I can feel that the enemies are getting more and more HP and my Acheron feels worse and worse
she can beat everything, yes. but now there’s herta who you can pull and get more damage. herta teams with 4 stars easily beat Acheron with 5 star supports
If you got her on release that’s 9 months of meta usage, 4 months if you only started with jiaoqiu, that’s quite enough for a char to be meta in all game activities, she was the one who defined DPS meta after all. IMHO the only limited chars that use useless are Seele and Jingliu(the old dps meta).
Acheron E0S1 with Jiaoqiu won’t just be outperformed by other DPSes unless they have similar levels of investment (Ruan Mei and S1 for Firefly, Robin and S1 for Feixiao) and then it depends on the buffs in the content you’re doing as well as the enemies
Jingliu is a relic of Star Rail before we had good supports, and she was only good in a meta without those good supports

Acheron was released 9 months ago, was consistently meta or a top DPS unit and there is simply no stopping in sight. She’s still one of the very best DPS units in the game and will be 100% viable for all content for a while. Just because she won’t be the #1 choice in certain scenarios, doesn’t mean she is useless or that your jades were wasted.
you might think its powercreep but i personally think its just the mega-hp-inflation-mechanic abuse/meta-only-bullshit they pull off every end of patchline
people already seen this in genshin where they put the really annoying enemies as the last floor enemies making it barely clearable so its nothing new for most players
im already predicting that when the new end content resets where it includes the new planet enemies it will make the difficulty lower again
well the HP inflation is directly connected to powercreep. to deal idk 700k with Acheron (random number) you need to get her stacks, you need Jiaoqiu, her lightcone. and then random ass Aglaea just dishes out that kind of damage much easier and faster.
my man thinks making money is easy, the only way they make money is to make future character is at least as strong or better so people like you that cant control your impulse to gamble spend their money in this game.
Otherwise follow the previous comment only pull character that you really really like

Genshin managed to make desirable characters without having to powercreep anything. star rail devs are just kinda bad at balancing
Forget it bro, there are so many hoyo apologists here. The best you can do is just drop the game completely when you favorite character becomes irrelevant.

I’m really excited for Mydei and Castorice, I like their designs plus they’re exactly the elements I need, Imaginary and Quantum. I also have a great disciple set for Mydei. my only issue is that I have no 5 star healers ☹️
Possible good news (take with a lot of salt) there may be a synergistic 4* healer coming sometime in 3.X

According to leaks, a 4* male character with a 4 character long name will be released in future, most likely as an imaginary abundance who suits Mydei.
Based on that info the character is probably Mr Reca
Mydei’s kit has been leaked. He is a versatile Main DPS with HP manipulation in his kit.

Basic ATK: Deals Imaginary DMG based on Mydei’s HP to a single target.
Skill: Consumes HP to deal Blast Imaginary DMG to enemies.
Enhanced Skill 1: Consumes HP to deal more Blast Imaginary DMG to enemies.
Enhanced Skill 2: Deals Blast Imaginary DMG to enemies. Mydei recovers HP and empties the Blood Pool.
Ultimate: Heals himself to deal Blast Imaginary DMG to enemies.
Talent: Whenever Mydei consumes HP or loses HP through sustaining DMG, the HP lost is tallied into a Blood Pool. After Blood Pool reaches certain thresholds, he immediately takes action and enters an enhanced state. During this state, his Skill is enhanced and deals more DMG. His skill can be Enhanced twice.
T1: When Mydei receives lethal DMG while in the Enhanced state, he survives with 1 HP, exits the Enhanced state, and recovers a portion of HP.
T2: Mydei’s CRIT Rate is increased based on a percentage of his HP, up to a maximum of X% CRIT Rate.
T3: While in the Enhanced state, the Blood Pool accumulation increases by X% whenever he Mydei is attacked.
Personally I’d prefer his T2 to be crit dmg because of the Blade relics, and I have Blade’s LC and Sunday (although with Mydei’s self advance Sunday might be a little messy) crit rate is a plentiful stat as is, I’ll see how that plays out when beta comes
And since you didn’t mention it, it’s said Mydei can reach 25-30k Max HP while enhanced, because of how big his health pool is he’ll want a big healer like Luocha or Lingsha. Initially Luocha was the top choice because he’s SP positive but now it’s been leaked Mydei’s skill doesn’t have an SP cost Lingsha is probably no worse and she’s generally a better character to have
Holding out hope the lion somehow gets put in Mydei’s kit as a summon, I would very much like for him to synergise with my shiny new male harmony unit

Can someone tell me how to best optmize The Herta E2 (V6) where she gets 35% action advance per enhanced skill?
Currently i Have Jade (136 speed and 90% Action Advance with Trace and Vonwacq), and with her and my relics i can get THerta to 165 spd and up to 177 if i change some relics. So, can someone tell me which speeds would be meaningful with her E2 35% AA?

action advance scales less if you have more speed, especially at such a low action advance of 35%. aim for better crit/atk stats than higher speed if looking to optimize e2.
Tribbie’s kit has been leaked, and she’s an HP-scaling Harmony who likes Ultimates.
Skill – Grants All-Type RES PEN to all allies for x turns.
Ultimate – Creates a barrier. While an enemy is attacked while the barrier is up, the enemy with the highest HP takes Quantum Additional DMG equal to a portion of Tribbie’s Max HP, then deals Quantum DMG to all enemies.
Talent – Whenever any ally uses an Ultimate, performs a follow-up attack that deals Quantum DMG to all enemies based on a portion of her Max HP.
Technique – Uses Skill automatically upon entering battle.

Also, Fei and Argenti seem to get another alternative to Robin, cuz of their high frequency of attacks and/or ult spam.
This is still a solid Therta support, no? All-Type Res Pen for both your Erudition DPS, and lots of frequent AoE hits for energy and interpretation stacks.
