TitleText
n/aSenior manager of the Strategic Investment Department at the IPC and one of the Ten Stonehearts. His Cornerstone is the "aventurine of stratagems."
An ostentatious risk-taker, he often wears a smile that masks his true motives.
He won his current position by wagering against fate itself. He views life as a high-stakes, high-return investment, and he plays this particular gamble with masterful ease.
n/a"I have something to report to you about the new employee."

"What makes you so worried, Erwin?"

"It's complaints about him, both formal and informal. My mailbox has been flooded with them like countless pieces of paper. I wonder... if it's worth reconsidering his inclusion in the Strategic Investment Department."

"What do these complaints say?"

"Mostly about his origins. Those eyes of his..."
"He once deceived the Marketing Development Department by falsely claiming that there were energy sources hidden in the barren land of Sigonia, not yet effectively developed and utilized. A huge amount of funds was invested into excavating it before we realized it was all a scam."
"And then there's the notorious Egyhazo Aventurine Case. He misled the Intelligentsia Guild into believing that the remains of Tayzzyronth the Imperator Insectorum were buried there. Despite the scholars being extremely cautious, they ultimately still fell into the trap."
"And let's not forget the letters from the councilors of the Sigonian Sovereignty. They denounce his tribe for once breaking agreements and sowing discord, leading to significant changes in the balance of peace between the tribes, resulting in repeated delays in the signing of agreements between Sigonia and IPC. Allowing such an employee to join at the IPC would be a severe detriment to public relations..."

"If these are the extent of the complaints, there's no need to tell me."

"...You already know it all?"

"Each gemstone holds unique value, and our task is to make investments."
"We don't need to appease those stubborn old-timers who sent in complaints, as these rumors will eventually reach... No, they would already have reached his ears. Well, let's take this chance and see how big of a surprise he can bring us."

n/a"You're quite something else, boy... I still can't figure out how you managed to empty out my entire business. But I will never surrender. If push comes to shove, I'll just blow up this whole place... What are you gonna do about it?"
The Mad Bull of Iymanika signals his followers to let go. He raises his head from the table, dusting off his collar.
"You arrogant dogs from the IPC never respected us wanderers, did you? But now that you're in our territory, you'll play by our rules."

Mad Bull empties the cylinder, putting only one bullet in the revolver, and tosses it to the other man's feet.
"Six shots. Fate will decide whether we live or die after a maximum of six shots. Do you have the nerve?"

The other man bends down and picks up the revolver.
"There are too many people who've pointed a gun at me. Some of them even just went ahead and pressed the trigger straight up... Now, guess how come I'm still standing here."
The man stands up, stares into the Mad Bull's eyes, raises the gun, and puts it against his own heart.
"It's because the gun will always end up in my hand."

"And now, this game is making me bored... One in six? That possibly is nowhere near enough. If you want to tempt fate..."
Six consecutive gunshots thunder out in the starship that is wrapped in a deathly silence. After the smoke clears, the man raises the gun again and walks toward Mad Bull. The revolver is now loaded with a fresh bullet.
"You need to learn how to turn yourself into a die first."
"...You won't surrender, but why? Because you have this lousy game of chance? Or..."
He points the gun into the darkness.
"Because of her?"

A woman holding a pistol emerges slowly from the direction the revolver points. The Mad Bull acts as if he found a lifeline when he sees her.
"Madam Jade, this is not what we agreed upon..."
At that moment, both of them opened fire simultaneously, and two figures dressed in black fall from the shadows behind each of them.

"The IPC has enemies everywhere, right?" The woman calmly holsters her pistol, takes out her cosmetic mirror, and inspects her appearance.
"You used our lives as bait, making them believe there was internal strife between us, and then you eliminated them all... A clever trick, although a bit reckless." He greets the woman with a smile, although his hands tremble slightly.

"Trick? No, it was just a test."
The elegant lady opens her palm, revealing a shimmering aventurine of peculiar hues.
"There's nothing strange about it. Gemstones are destined to be... desired, sought, cut, and sold."
"However, there's so much more you can do. It all depends on how you see yourself."

n/aHe walks into the room at the furthest end of the corridor, remembering how he was still a grotesque prisoner the last time he came here. Now, he stands with his back straight and faces those who sit at the very top of the department.

He listens to the blond woman as she reads out the lengthy and boring report. Those cold, unfeeling numbers cannot convey the dangers that accompanied him as he walked on the thin line between life and death, nor can they communicate how much he had lost and gained during the journey. He is simply curious whether she is human or an Intellitron.

The aventurine, that symbol of power and of the future, is about to be officially handed to him — Yet it would have no more allure or value in his eyes as soon he obtains it, even though he had sought it by putting his life on the line.

"Do you have any more questions, Aventurine?" Jade, the only person he knows among the presently gathered, asks at the end of the meeting.

"The Avgins in Sigonia... what happened to them afterward?"

"Unfortunately, there are no more Avgins in Sigonia. You're the last lucky dog."

"What about those people who helped me on planet ██? Now I can finally repay their kindness."

"They are no more, either."

...

He returns to his office in a daze. The aventurine stone emits a peculiar glow on his desk, seemingly congratulating and mocking him at the same time.
"Was luck truly on your side when you wrestled with fate?"

n/a"Penacony... Is Diamond finally ready to do something about it?"
The miniature model on the table continues to rotate, the crystalline memory bubble emitting tiny spheres of foam.

"This historic debt is utterly unimaginable. So, the profit involved is also... shockingly high."
The person in front of him has their back turned to him, gazing instead at the purplish-red sky of Pier Point at sunset.

"But why me?"
The person continues to face away from him. Keen though his eyes are, he can not decipher the true intentions behind the decision.

"It should have been me, but Diamond believes that The Family still had some value in cooperation and hopes this affair still has some room for a peaceful resolution."
"So, after some thought, I've concluded that you're the best candidate."

"This is only our second conversation ever. Do you trust me that much?"

"No, I've never trusted you. Perhaps Jade does, but I don't."
"Maybe luck won't be on your side this time, and the bill for all your past good fortune will come due."

Finally, the person in front of him turns around. The distant skyscraper reflects a kaleidoscope of colors like an opal stone, while a music box plays on its own.
"But isn't that what you've been longing for?"

  1. Does he accumulate blind bet from having any ally with shield getting attacked? Saw a video where it does and he also gets 2 points if he is being attacked. Didn’t see that anywhere here, or is that a bug?

    • Yes, any ally with his shield, he also gets multiple if more than one ally is hit. Ave getting 2 is also in the talent description, they just put it in a weird spot after the CC resist part.

“When Aventurine has Fortified Wager, he can resist Crowd Control debuffs 1 time every 2 turns and additionally gains 1 points of Blind Bet after being attacked”

Ave counts as an ally so he gets 2 total, this is intentional

  2. V3 changes:

Aventurine accumulates 1 Blind Bet after an ally with Fortified Wager launches a follow-up attack. This effect can be triggered a maximum of 1 time(s). This effect’s trigger count is reset at the start of Aventurine’s turn.

This effect can trigger 3 times, not just once. The eidolon that relifs the count limit now gives something else.

      • E1 now makes him get 100% of the skill shield after ulting, instead of the cap removal on his talent
E4 increases the number of FuA by 3 instead of 1
Skill shield max value was changed to 200% of the shield provided by skill instead of a specific numerical value
And Technique now has a 3 turn duration increased from 2 turns

          • It may just be a wording change, but to me it seems that before it was hard capped at the value of 54%DEF + 720 and now all shield increasing effects like 4pc Knight will increase the cap as well as the skill shield value.

In short it probably means more shields with 4pc knight and with SU blessing/path buffs

  3. Struggling and looking for advice: I have E1S1 Topaz with 180 cdmg and Ratio E0S0 with 198 cdmg, which are the main reason I want Aventurine. I also have Kafka, JY, Seele, Luocha, SW and Ruan Mei. Unfortunately lost 50/50 when BS came out so I didnt get her… Ive been extremely unlucky and lost almost all my 50/50s with the luckiest I’ve been was getting Bronya and a copy of Topaz in the same 10 pull after getting my first Topaz, which is extremely lucky.

I’m tempted on all three banners, Sparkle, Acheron and Aventurine, but they all have their own pros and cons

Sparkle: I have SW, E4 Qq and Seele, which are great with Sparkle but none are built or have relics, so I’d have to spend more resources on many characters…

Acheron: I already have Kafka and JY as Lightning DPS, and only debuffer Nihility I have built is Pela. I hear she is gonna be REALLY strong and there’s a lot of hype around her, which triggers FOMO (which I already have enough of, having skipped Jingliu, IL, FuXuan, HuoHuo and Blade…)

Aventurine: Would be my second sustain (means I can put Lynx/Gepard on the bench) and synergizes well with my most well build team but I hear he’s not as great on his own gimmick, being a subdps sustainer.

In the end, Aventurine is the character I personally love the most, character wise, and works the best with my current main team without having to spend too much resources… but also feels like skipping more characters that are far more powerful, as Ive done before, is in the eyes of many, the biggest mistake one could do. I dont whale or spend aside from the 30-day daily jade thing.. knowing all this, is Aven still my best choice or should I work on actually giving more value to my acct with the stronger characters?

    • Well you said Aventurine is the character you love the most so pull for him
He’s an amazing slot in your Ratio/Topaz team, and at worst he’s a gepard upgrade in other teams
No matter how good Acheron is, she’s just another DOS, and while Sparkle is damn good, she’s not necessary

    • From the 5 stars you have, you can already build two great teams. So your account is already solid on that DPS and Support front.

Sparkle is great but not a must pull if you already have good harmonies, which you do. Don’t get baited by all the “SPARKLE CHANGES EVERYTHING” echo chambers that content creators seem to be stuck in.

Acheron is a DPS. She has cool animations and an interesting gimmick, but she’s ultimately just a DPS. Like you said. You already have Jing Yuan and Kafka as your lightning DPS. And while missing Black Swan is unfortunate, Kafka with the 4 star nihilities is still very much usable with Ruan Mei as their buffer. Black Swan’s release doesn’t suddenly make those teams worthless.

Aventurine is an upgrade to Gepard and is extremely synergistic with the follow up team, so you’ll definitely get value. Plus a good sustain goes a long way since for most of us, we’re not aiming for super fast ultra sweaty 0 cycle clears of everything in the game.

I think ultimately you should look at Aventurine and Acheron and decide which of the two you really really like (and it sounds like you already know). Building characters you actually like is far more rewarding in the long run than building one just for Meta, considering that even Acheron won’t be immune to powercreep as that is the nature of these games.

    • Wait for the order of 2.1 to be announced and take out Sparkle if Aventurine is in the second half of the version, she is an upgrade for JY and QQ and Aventurine is for Topaz and Ratio and with that you already have very powerful equipment, both AOE and S.T.

  4. I am crying. I’m struggling with his DEF. It turned out to be more annoying that I expected I might just sacrifice some of that trace crit rate for my sanity ;_;

      • Pioneer 4pc, Crit Dmg DEF% SPD Imaginary Damage. Even though 80% of my substat rolls went into DEF% I’m only able to reach 3200ish. I’m trying to keep my Imaginary orb but if push comes to shove I’ll use a DEF orb, though I dunno if I’ll even get 3600 with it as well ;_;

        • Without a 5* light cone, a def orb may be needed to hit 3600
Have moment and a decent but not incredible amount of subs which puts me abt 3400-3500 so the base stats make some difference
Unless you can get even more def subs without sacrificing crit, or use 2pc knight, you may need the def orb (which is like 500+ extra def)

          • I am starting to see yeah. However, the good news is that his E1 has been changed and some of it is now base kit. I was going for E1 but now I’ll probably go for S1 instead, and with those calcs I am able to hit a minimum of 3642 DEF, with a potential for more since I have two pieces I wish to replace as some of the rolls went to flat attack lol But thank you!

        • yeah im using Def% Orb. My build is 2pc Def% 2pc Follow Up, with Belobog Planar.

          Crit Dmg%, Spd, Def%, Def%
Using the new event LC im getting around 3.9k Defense

also, Theres news of changes to Aventurine. Probably updated later
One of them is that the Crit Trace now stacks to 48% Crit Rate. That means you need 4k Defense to max it. So stack that defense

    • gephy light cone is pretty nice. it’s what I’m planning to use on him.
24 + 24 ℅def : help getting max crit rate from his trace and I can use crit dmg body instead.

+aggro chance : help giving him blind bet as he gets 1 +1 if he himself got hit with shield on(if I read his talent right)

ef hit is mostly useless but might help get 50 hit rate for that +15℅ def plana set.

    • I tried calculating gephy lc against new event lc concert for two. it depends on sub stats but for the most part using the shield set and broken keel:

      for my build
-concert for two(s5)will deal 10-14 ℅ more dmg. IF the shields are on ALL allies.
      – gephy lc moment of victory (s1) will have 6-8 % stronger shield and 3-5 ℅ more crit rate if you haven’t already max 40℅ with his trace
and Adventurine will be 10℅ tankier.

since he himself doesnt deal that much dmg, I would use moment of victory for the aggro boost and a bit better shield. ( unless I use clara)

other than that, use day one of my new life at superimpose 4-5 should be nice too.
or trend of universal market might be best if you use Dr. ratio or Archeon and need more debuffer.

    • Gepart’s light cone gives defense and high taunt value, however the EHR is going wasted.

For 4-star light cones I recommend “Destiny’s Threads Forewoven” and “Concert for Two”. The former one is buyable from MoC shop.

    • Sustains tend to be rated on the teams they amplify. He nothing special (doesn’t bring anything WOW to the table, but does the job you’d expect from a 5 Star Preservation)

The Damage dealers that want Aventurine seem to be Ratio (He can proc debuffs) and Topaz (His Follow Up Attacks can Speed up Numby). He can also trigger debuffs for Acheron, though Fu Xuan’s CC prevention might be an all around better choice. He can most certainly work in (any)other teams, but he’ll be a slight downgrade

Really his utility is very finnicky, with Res being inconsistent, the Crit Damage Increase small and with questionable uptime. Personal Damage is certainly lacking, which is quite depressing. Unless you have Ruan Mei and his Signature, I wouldn’t expect much from him. The lack of a cleanse might also hurt him. It also remains to be seen how SP positive he is (if at all). He will most definitely keep the team alive tho, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise lol

    • his main competitors are gepard and fu xuan anyway, if there is any need to consider one of them over ave

him to gepard seems to be like sparkle to bronya, a limited 5* turnaround of a standard 5*s kit

him to fu xuan is like… eh, SU viability? preservation boons don’t work with fu xuan after all, and the other preserve units are kinda icky to proc them with, but then it’s SU
otherwise guess he would go on par with her, maybe kinda lower (but no too lower than gep) because of all the team restriction-y stuff about FUAs, and (as a guy on fu’s page points out) you might need to flush down more sp with ave if an enemy likes throwing a truck-ful of single target dmg

    • Being a shielder, debuffer, and sub-dps all-in-one makes him really unique.
At baseline he will probably fit into most teams as a sustain. Having only 50% effect res is a downside but makes sense considering his other utilities.

The debuff from his ult makes him best with Ratio or Acheron, but benefits any DPS who crits. ‘Increased Crit dmg taken’ is a unique debuff currently so will stack multiplicatively with any def or res debuffs. Having this on a sustain is pretty great.

Dmg wise, he looks somewhat weak in AoE but alright single target. He’ll be really good for imaginary break. His dps will shine more in dedicated follow-up teams or when used with debuffers or teamwide buffers. His synergy with Topaz is crazy good.

      Overall very worth using IMO.

    • Quantum team wants a Quantum type sustainer, namely FX, or Lynx at least.

JY wants FX or HH since it’s very punising for him to take a crowd control.

Blade & JL want an Abundance path sustainer for obvious reason.

DHIL & Argenti & DoT team do not have a criteria for the sustainer but they have no apparent reason to use Aventurine over the others.

Dr.Ratio & Topaz have some synergy with Aventurine but he doesn’t outperform HH in such a team in terms of DPS utility.

I don’t expect many will pull for him for meta value if they already have 2 among Luocha, FX and HH. However for people who don’t, they may pull for Aventurine due to him being a limited sustainer.

      • For Acheron, Aventurine is definitely viable. He can even apply 2 kind of debuffs at E0S1. However any Preservation path sustainer with “Trends of the Universal Market” is ideal for Acheron as well, especially those who make use of EHR so the light cone’s burn effect will be more consistant. Also Aventurine’s banner is just following Acheron’s and people may want a breath after pulling her.

        • Yeah that what I think most do. Go for units they like. Be they it for design, kit, both. Along with having at least a general idea of their power level or what game modes they are good for.

For after all. To many go this or that character is a must pull. Then five weeks later, talk about how the same character is trash or lost value. Or go skip this character, only for them to end up being a rather fun character, that open up a great deal of variety in game play styles and also a good support in general.
For after all it is a game. Main point is to have fun. No point in rolling for a character if you hate the way they play or just don’t enjoy them.

For after all, different strokes for different folks.

    • I disagree with some of the doomposting I’ve been reading on reddit and such. One of the strongest paths in Simulated Universe SD/GG is the preservation path, but we haven’t yet had a character that has been able to unlock its full potential (with Gepard being the only notable shielder, who’s unfortunately kinda mid due to the shields being locked behind his burst). Also Imaginary is one of the best elements to bring in SD.

Aventurine’s follow up attacks might not have the best damage output, but keep in mind they can be very spammy, with how often they trigger I think his contribution can reasonably add up, so I’m not too worried about the damage. His CC protection is up to the RNG, which can be punishing for certain characters, so Fu Xuan can still gain the edge in certain scenarios. My only real issue with his kit is that I find the crit dmg debuff quite underwhelming, to the point where you don’t even care about picking up an energy regen rope on a support character. Perhaps they’ll revise its utility but I’m not going to be too bothered in the case they don’t.

I’ll be using Aventurine without his signature and think he’ll still do a stellar job with the upcoming event light cone. It’ll be nice to upgrade to a 5 star sustain too, since I wasn’t able to grab the abundance ones due to bad luck. The meta on HSR is constantly shifting to favor different play styles, whether it is DoT gameplay, skill point spam, burst spam, cleansing, follow up attacks and whatnot. It’s certainly going to shift to a shield focused playstyle sooner or later, we’ve already gotten a miniboss that requires shields as a counter too. This guy will do a great job at covering that base.

      • Given that Sam could likely be a final boss in the next SU expansion like SD or GG, and Aventurine is pretty much the best sustain for Sam fights, he could be very good for that
and also I find SU expansions are a large chunk of the gameplay in HSR anyway so I’m not complaining

    • Unbiased: Fu Xuan’s mere existence means that Preservation characters, and to some extent future Abundance tho they function different so I don’t compare them often, have their work cut out for them in an uphill battle. They need to at the very least be comparable to her to even be considered, let alone try and outperform her. Which is sad but such is life. Aventurine is not meta changing by any means but he’ll be a good addition to follow up teams that don’t already have Fu Xuan or the annoying child. Even in non-follow up he can still work just fine if people only have one 5 star sustain. Makes sense he’s the second banner. Everyone and their mother is horny for Acheron and will likely blow all their savings on her.

On a more personal note, he can sustain well enough imo and while I think mayhaps a bit more damage is needed, it’s not a deal breaker. While I love his design and idea, the main reason I’m even pulling is because of the existing sustains, Luocha is the only one I like. HuoHuo has a horrible personality of uwu I’m so scared uwu and Fu Xuan’s design is that of a 12 year old with the mind of a 60 year old. That trope creeps me out. And since I’m severely lacking in sustains but pretty well kitted in the support and damage departments, it’s an easy choice 😛

It’s often not only about the numbers, and in extreme cases if the character doesnt resonate with you at all you might even be willing to skip for the sake of more enjoyment. Which is ultimately the most important thing.

I always try to strike a balance between good and what I like. Pretty sure the only meta character I own is Ruan Mei, and I only pulled on her because at the time my only harmony was Yukong and she uses a shamisen as her weapon. I absolutely adore music based characters. So one that is like that and fills a role I’m lacking? Sign me up. I didn’t even know she’d be broken lol I guess DoT is now meta but it was a very hated niche when I started using it so I won’t count that.

I like FX because she’s a dutiful women who willingly suffers some body pain in exchange for Xianzhou’s long term safety. She is definitely respectable in this term.

However, on the other hand, she has been needlessly showing off her vocabulary. For some personal reason I’m not quite acceptable for this.

Given very short people like dwarves are a thing. Which looking at the official artwork of Fu Xuan and Clara. There is a different level of maturity to these two. One is shown off more clearly as a child, while the other this wise mighty mage/sage.

Now if someone must dislike Fu Xuan. They should do it, due to her knowing your browser history and is willing to use it against you. Or if your a Kafka fan, stealing away your waifu and making them hers.

          • It’s true that short people exist irl. Even the dwarves you used as an example look their age, but just have a shorter height. But my point isn’t about height. That’s not the problem. The problem is the way they do it here just makes them look like teenagers that act like they’re 50. Like their overall design, facial structure, etc. That’s what bothers me. And it’s why I stayed away from Genshin for a long, long time as that game is full of characters like that. Grown ass adults shouldn’t look like kids imo. But again that’s just me. No hate to folks who actually like her. You do you bestie.
