Character Details | Topaz, Senior Manager of the Strategic Investment Department in the Interastral Peace Corporation, and leader of the Special Debts Picket Team. Already a member of the "Ten Stonehearts" at a young age, Topaz's Cornerstone is the "topaz of debt retrieval." Her partner, the Warp Trotter "Numby," is also capable of acutely perceiving where riches are located. It can even perform jobs involving security, debt collection, and actuarial sciences. Presently they are traversing the cosmos together, chasing down various debts and liabilities that negatively influence the IPC's commercial ventures. |
Character Story: Part I | "Destor, have you seen this resume?" "Which one do you... Oh, it's her — She just finished her internship at the marketing research team, and made quite a stir there — Ah, in a good way." "She's already finished the internship? Ah..." "Is there something wrong, Mr. Dvorski?" "Nothing. Just curious. After all, the age at which she started her career is the youngest recorded in this department... Besides, her resume is so stunning. Let me see... Oh! She even signed a "lifelong contract"? I didn't expect us to pick up a talent like this from such a despondent planet..." "I've already checked with our colleagues. Everything in her resume is true. She didn't even write her employment exam results in — Apparently she got a high mark in actuarial sciences, micro- and macroeconomics, intergalactic finances, and management sciences. Even her physical exam was nearly perfect. The only topic she failed was..." "Hmm? What was it?" "... It's business etiquette. She didn't even turn up for that test. 'I absolutely hate formalism' — apparently that's what she said." * Unlocked at Character Level |
Character Story: Part II | "Say... You —" "Hmm? What's wrong, Uncle Dvorski?" "...You know pets are forbidden at the office, right?" "Of course! Row "...So you remember it very well. Then, can you explain yourself—" "— But I think this rule is useless and doesn't need to be obeyed at all. To be honest with you, sir — with these cute little critters around, my work efficiency went up by twenty-seven percent!" "...I won't question the numbers coming out of your mouth, but..." "See? This little one — up you get — it's called Numby! Don't treat it just as a normal Warp Trotter. It's really sensitive to the scent of money! Now I bring it with me wherever I go abroad for business. It's basically become my lucky star~" "I never thought I'd see such creatures at the office. Seriously... *cough* Anyways, I'll pretend I didn't see it. Just remember, the next time the director comes for a visit — Ah! Ahhh! What's going on!? D—Don't bite me! Q—Quickly! Get it away —" * Unlocked at Character Level |
Character Story: Part III | Reporter: Francisco Dvorski Reportee: Jade Report Content: Team Lead Work Report Madam Jade: This should be the last time I send you a work report through the system. Time flies. In the blink of an eye, I've already worked for half an Amber Era at the Strategic Investment Department, and only managed to climb to my current position through many trials and hardship. I may not be able to call myself distinguished, but I have at least gathered enough wealth for the next few generations of my family. I desire nothing else. Here, I would like to specifically thank the phenomenal support you've constantly given to Marketing Team Anyway, I will not waste any time presenting the recent deliverables and outcomes achieved by Marketing Team I trust that you have heard of ███ ████'s experiences and achievements in some fashion or another. I have included in the system her work reports and the comprehensive feedback given by multiple personnel in the team, for your perusal. Though she is still young, ███ has demonstrated exceptional business acumen, managerial thinking, strength of character and ability to perform under pressure. I have no doubt that, if she were to assume the leadership responsibilities of Marketing Team Marketing Team Francisco Dvorski * Unlocked at Character Level |
Character Story: Part IV | "Destor..." "What's wrong, Mr. Dvorski?" "Maybe... you can start with the food? I don't think anyone is coming." "It's okay. I'm not hungry yet. This is your farewell party, after all. Let's wait for a bit longer." "Haha... I know what these brats are like. All of them only think about working and earning money... They've probably forgotten about their old leader ages ago." "...I'm very sorry, Mr. Dvorski. I originally thought that at least Jelena would..." "...Hey, don't use that name. Now you need to call her 'Topaz.' Honestly, I never imagined that she would become one of them..." "You've gotta acknowledge her achievements, Destor. Stubborn old bones like me won't get anywhere near that position even if I worked here for a few more lifetimes. She's already a part of a different world. How would she possibly have the time to come to this small party?" "You're being too humble. I feel that... Ah, there's a knock on the door! Stay where you are. I'll get it." "...Who is it, Destor? My eyesight is getting worse in my old age. I can't even tell who they are even if they're standing right in front of me..." "I'm so sorry, sir. No one came... It was just a letter being delivered." "Oh... I see. Who's the letter from? Such formality. They could have just sent an electronic message..." "There's no name written on the envelope. Hold on. I'll read the letter to you —" "Dear Mr. Dvorski, Thank you for your constant support and help over the years! I would definitely not be where I am today without your care and mentorship. I offer my deepest apologies for being unable to attend your retirement farewell party — I am currently working abroad at Taikiyan. Once this project is over, I will definitely take a whole day off and go visit you. Also, I seem to recall that you are into Roboball — So I'm going to bring back some souvenirs for you from Taikiyan. Yours Faithfully Forever, Jelena." "..." "Mr... Dvorski? Are you... crying?" * Unlocked at Character Level |

How large is the radius for Numby’s treasure sniffing passive ? Kinda want to pull for her if the radius is large hmm
as large as Topaz’s tigh times 100

I’m not sure if I’m allowed, but I’ll link this Himeko/Asta/Topaz/FuXuan gameplay:

Blablabla
Character is garbo blablabla and when it comes out, yooooooooooooooo god tier character. Each new character is made to be better than the last, they will modify the multipliers and she will be broken, until the next character comes out. It’s pointless to theorycraft in Honkai. Characters come out overbroken, as seen with Fu Xuan.
Rule n°1 – Every character is usable
Rule n°2 – If someone qualifies a character as bad, either they REALLY love them and hate that they are not stronger, or they’re trying to justify not pulling for them
Rule n°3 – When people overrate a character they just pulled for, they are doing it to justify the ressources they invested into them
It is not pointless to theorycraft, a lot of reliable theorycrafters that ignore “feelings” or “perceived value” and focus on factual numerical values manage to do it pretty accurately. Finally, if everything is “overbroken” then nothing is. Meanwhile, intelligent players are clearing MoC full stars with 4 star characters ONLY.
Today I managed 24 stars in MoC
I’m using Blade/Bronya/Lynx in one half
and Kafka/sampo/pela/fire tb in the other
Blade I got by accident and Bronya was lucky, but so far the ONLY banner I’ve really pulled on was Kafka and I can already 24 star MoC (when one of my teams doesn’t even have a 4th member or any lv80 chars)
You have some insane potential with Bronya and Blade. Just make sure that Bronya takes her turn just after him.
I’m sure you will get all stars with enough investment.
oh yeah I’m very aware
I only got Bronya recently (first standard 5* was Himeko’s LC ewww) and was so happy to not go all the way to 300
I’ve got Blade at 110 and Bronya at 109 and its far better than my Blade ever was with spd boots
I only wish Lynx’s taunt lasted 1 more turn so Bronya wouldn’t immediately burn it
I’ll see how Topaz performs when she releases but she’s also looking great
HAHAHA look at this guy and his 24 stars instead of 30. Wow what an achievement if you started playing maybe 3 weeks ago.
I have a fully built Fu Xuan and I think you are severely overrating her at “overbroken.” I mean don’t get me wrong, she’s very good, but she’s comparable overall to her closest competition, Luocha. Use them together and cruise through level 5 of Swarm Disaster.
If there’s anywhere where game balance is a bit sketchy it’s with DPS characters, but that’s basically just because of Dragon Boy, and he may be an outlier. Of course a Chinese dragon in a Chinese game is going to be OP. We just have to wait and see.
so topaz is like a sp positive sub DPS for follow up team?
i have Clara so something like..
A. topaz Clara tingyun and lynx?
tingyun either buff Clara or topaz base on wether you need aoe or DPS at the moment?
Will this team have enough sustain for moc10 or swarm?
or
B. topaz Clara march7th and lynx?
should have enough sustain but not sure if enough dmg. maybe a hybrid march7th with some DPS? but I hate it when march7th freeze enemy so I guess I should avoid using her ult altogether 😞.
or any other team that is good with topaz clara combo?
We feel like her ideal team just do not exist yet, just like Kafka, can make team work well enough, but still not highest potential. possibly more character like Screwllum or later could put follow-up team to another level, DPS March in this team would run into issue where her shield will break before she could deal any relevant damage, i guess Topaz Clara Qingque and offensive sustainer, can make Topaz team more comfortable and still fun.
I personally don’t see how they’ll make a teammate better for topaz than clara short of just releasing a 1:1 clara upgrade thats fire element.
I think team A is better than team B.
U can choose buff Topaz when your Clara used Energy Rope. She can sustain her Ulti so fast. I will used this team when Topaz release
I think topaz right now is not worth pulling reasons:
– lack aoe and debuff debt applicable only for 1 enemy
– team limitations right now only JY has highest aoe damage but he need some time before unleashing follow up atk to make numby turn advanced forward, if you go (JY, topaz, clara/march, healer) then you didnt bring buffer / debuffer which is not recomended and JY will forced to use spd shoes but if you go (JY, topaz, bronya, healer) then numby will not attack enemies often so conclusion is topaz really need harmony / debuffer character that has reliable source of follow up atk (please dont say bronya e4 its too much)
Can’t you just build march and run her as solo sustain? Theres plenty videos showing shes capable of that.
Also her value as a unit is very high as she can support ALL follow-up characters in the future and currently cover for the weakness of the AoE follow-up dps (JY, Himeko) both by dealing Single target damage herself as well as buffing their follow-ups against the Bosses.
And that’s not all, Topaz is the first character that can be run as a 100% Sp positive sub dps with her A2 trace. Add the fact her personal damage becomes greater with more follow-ups in the team means she can only get better with time.
For example, pair her with Himeko and Asta. Himekos Technique makes enemies take more fire damage and she has follow-ups, while asta provides a fire damage buff to both with her A4 trace.
Add a Planetary Randevous and you got an ~32% permanent fire damage buff. Also you underestimate how good Clara is with her as Topaz 75 taunt value makes Clara a little more consistent by default, add a March/Lynx and you have a dream team.
Basically im saying theres a ton of little upsides and synergies Topaz has with the existing units which benefit her a lot rn.
March *can* solo sustain, GI Amber *can* be your main DPS if you want; that doesn’t mean it’s good or practical for most people or many situations. It can work early on easily, but has a high floor for investment and resource consumption to be viable in mid- or later content, can be SP-heavy, prone to difficulties, likely to require resets, many find it unpleasant to play, and doesn’t well work with auto-fight. She can! But people make those videos *because* it’s impressive to solo with March, and not everyone wants to deal with that.
(Overall agree with you, just wanted to add a caveat to that statement.)
I think any sustain would work for general follow DPS (obv if you’re going to invest in solo march though, this would be the team to do it for. plus topaz sp positivity might make her shield uptime easier), but for Clara at least the better solo-sustain would be Lynx, and keep healer slot instead of march slot. Her ult can’t be utilized by Clara anyway, and a healer would have less taunt.
It’s a shame that the Bailu Abundance lightcone doesn’t count as a follow-up attack, as far as I’m aware, because that would’ve been very nice for Topaz teams.
I’d think Topaz/Tingyun or Asta/Lynx/Clara would likely be better, instead of packing all the followup DPS together like the og commenter was proposing. Clara should get more follows than JY as an only source. Clara/March/Lynx/Topaz would have more follow up opportunities and be more secure, but less dmg and less clara hits bc march default taunt + march shield for no dmg/lynx heal if dmg, would giver her a lot of taunt.
Topaz likely might be good for keeping the Standard and free follow up characters (Clara counter, Himeko+Asta Fire, March Counter, etc) relevant and useful. And there will be new follow-ups. (Perhaps her situation is somewhat comparable Kafka’s, with Kafka currently only having four stars dots to enable – but it won’t stay that way.)
Yeah, agreed. I just wanted to point out how incredibly flexible Topaz is, simillar to Blade.
Did you expect a hunt character to have aoe? She’s a great support as is for follow up attaclers (Jing Yuan less so but still compatible)
But everyone still ignores the possibilitu of main DPS Topaz which she seems designed as
wtf are you taking about? no aoe? single debuff application? my brother in Christ she’s a hunt character what did you expect? her best team comps would be (clara, tingyun, topaz&Lynx)or (blade,tingyun/bronya,topaz&Lynx) your team examples sucks and as the game goes on new follow up characters will be added and her value will only go up
I disagree with Blade Topaz bc he doesn’t revolve around his follow-up but everything else is true
She’s a Kafka situation where she gets progressively better with new teammates. And even now there’s Clara, Jing Yuan and Himeko for her to work with
A couple quick team ideas:
Mono fire: Topaz, Asta, FMC, Himeko
Faux fire: Topaz, Asta, FMC, SW
Clara team: Lynx, Clara, Topaz, Tingyun
Jing team: Tingyun, Jing Yuan, Topaz, sustain
She’s also insanely good for Elation SU as it stands
would jing yuan team for this situation not prefer asta? since her atk buff isnt limited to a singal team mate
Yeah you’re probably right, I was thinking Tingyun since she’s usually Jing’s best partner
Can someone tell me who she looks like. I’ve been trying to find out for a while now and I feel like it’s not Chisato from LycoReco.
her hair kinda looks like the girl from takt op. destiny?
W from arknights?
I think you are looking for Graf Spee from Azur lane?
Just thinking about her energy generation here seems numby does not give energy outside ultimate buff. and 130 is costly
thinking
first turn: (skill) 1 skill cost 30 energy
second turn: (basic) >(bronya skill)> (basic) 1 skill positive 40 energy
third turn: repeat
so to ult THE FIRST TIME you would need 30+40+40+20 = skill+basic-bronyaskill x2 + 1 basic
Seems excessive,
Numby gives 10 energy per action after enhanced and he has 2 actions so every ult returns 5 (basic energy return) +20 (numby actions)
dropping her ults after the first cost to 105 energy WHICH IS STILL KLUNKY
she still would need more than 4 actions for a ult in a void (ignoring energy from getting hit, breaking enemies, killing enemies)
is still normal compared to other units? I have no idea will I need a energy rope on her:?
Numby seems to spend its charges easily thanks to the advance turn on team actions and follow ups mechanics
so Topaz could use all the energy she can get.
my kafka does 2x follow ups per turn thanks to team speed syncing netting her 30 from skill +20 =50 energy per turn while needing 120 energy
and I still have to rely on her trace that gives 5 energy per shocked kill and breaks to ult every 2 turns
while kafka hits multiple targets making it easier to procure this extra side energy
since she is a Hunt dps I expect her to be squishy so I really want to leave (energy from being hit) out of the equation and try a team where she’s never hit
can’t Imagine playing Jingliu without a energy rope since she is based around her ult and have a cost of 140 for example
Agreed.
Maybe you can try Tingyun for more energy. I think she need a Asta to solve speed problems, but can’t figure a defensive support for her.
Maybe, that’s why her technique give 60 energy. if you think, make sense…
only 2 numby 50 forwards per folow up attacks per topaz round, saw it on youtube, so clara and march in one team is to much follow up.
since he has a base speed of 80 I think doing 2 followups back to back is a waste
hear me out
numby falls on the action order on like 65 to act.
we rush him. = 33 to act.
we wait him take his turn reaching zero
falls on like 80.
we rush him a second time he moves to 40
this makes him a speedy boi who will feel like a unit with natural 120 speed
would she be good with e4 qingque???
Well, depend on what you call good, Qingque only has 24% chance to proc that follow-up, so it’s still enhanced by it, but this is not where most of her damage come from, it’s a plus sure, but in the grand scheme, pretty sure it would count around a 3 to 10% increase in damage at an average rate of 1/4. (Up to 50% increase dps if you’re lucky with the follow-up and it procs everytime.)
