Story
Planar Sphere
When discussing Oswaldo Schneider, the head of the IPC's Marketing Development Department, people often focus on the decisive operations he undertook upon assuming the position. Within just two years, this young fanatic conquered the bitter cold, pestilence, and death, and managed to address three major longstanding issues that had plagued the Department for several Amber Eras. One of these challenges is the desolate planet known as Sigonia-IV, which is covered in barren deserts and scarred by clan vendettas... a place of harsh conditions and strife. Situated near the convergence of three major star clusters, Sigonia-IV has long been subjected to stellar winds from multiple stars, earning its reputation as the "eye of the storm" throughout the Cosmos. The planet's surface environment is extremely harsh, leading many civilizations to either migrate to other celestial bodies or succumb to natural disasters. Now, only a small number of intelligent races remain there, referred to as Sigonians by scholars from the Intelligentsia Guild. In reality, Sigonians have fragmented into numerous clans, with most adopting nomadic lifestyles, while a few have established centralized systems of governance of reasonable size. They share a common language. Through the translation provided by the Synesthesia Beacon, you will learn that "Katica" means "shellslasher," who have a reputation of being the most ferocious clan among Sigonians. And "Avgin" means "honey," who are often accused of pilfering by those willfully ignorant. These clans share a vendetta that lasted through Amber Eras, engaged in a cycle of bloody vengeance in the boundless wilderness where only the fittest survive — until mysterious figures clad in black descended from the sky. From there, Sigonians were briefly united under the radiance of Amber, and the natural cycles that were finally reached a temporary conclusion. Afterward, under the IPC's guidance, the Sigonians established the Sigonian Sovereignty according to the Interstellar Peace Charter and took their first steps toward the wider Cosmos. Unfortunately, this unity and progress did not extend to the Avgins and Katicans. Some malicious opportunists among the Sigonians viewed the former's resourcefulness with suspicion, while slandering the latter as nothing more than predators with no hope of enlightenment. Although they possessed only limited knowledge about Preservation, they understood that some of them had to be sacrificed for it. Utilizing a highly advanced set of parliamentary rules, these devious and corrupt individuals banished both clans to the endless desert. As a token of apology, they even went out of their way to declare that "the Avgins shall forever retain the right to autonomy" — In other words, should any future conflicts occur between the two clans, they could justifiably and lawfully sit back and do nothing. |

"Avgin" means "honey" in the Sigonian language. It's a conventional term irretrievably lost in the long arc of cosmic history. The Avgins are blessed with attractive facial features, beautiful eyes, and an innate wealth of emotional intelligence, all of which effortlessly endear themselves to any strangers. However, these inborn talents are the exact reason they draw jealousy and ire from others. And the envious and snobbish soon begin their ceaseless slander, and the baseless defamation of the Avgins thus spreads like wildfire throughout the cosmos. As mere rumors can suffice to tarnish the sanctity of truth, the Avgins, a people of a peripheral world, found themselves assailed without recourse, subject to all manners of suspicion and prejudice. The Avgins have an appreciation for intricately patterned fabrics, as well as a penchant for jewelry crafted from precious gemstones. They're particularly fond of turquoise meteorites, the only kind of gemstones capable of rivaling the resplendence of Gaiathra Triclops' divine body, which in their mythology is believed to have been reborn from death. Known as Fenge Biyos, their Mother Goddess reigns over all matters related to fertility, travels, and trickery. Depictions of the Mother Goddess in the Avgins' religion often portray her as a left palm adorned with three eyes. The Avgins primarily express reverence for her through spoken prayers alone, believing that the Mother Goddess is as silent and unassuming as the mountains of Sigonia, and that crafting statues or composing hymns for her would only distance themselves from her protective embrace. The Avgins view the world through the body of the Mother Goddess — the earth, the mountains, and all that exists on the land are a part of the Mother Goddess' divine body. And at the end of each calendar year, her divine body will perish. On that significant day, her divine essence ascends as a resplendent aurora in the night sky and is reborn in the following day. Hence, Avgins celebrate the first day of the new year through their grand festival called "Kakava." During this festival, they weave sacrificial vessels known as "Knots of Cyclicality" and toss them into bonfires to commemorate the Great Goddess' birth. According to the incident report by the Marketing Development Department, that shocking conflict took place on a night of Kakava. It was a stormy night when the clouds and fog engulfed the northern lights, which should have been seen as an ill omen. However, the Avgin people were unexpectedly excited. When questioned about this, a maiden from the clan provided the following response. "Rain is a gift from the Mother Goddess. She is calling to us, urging us to take up arms and fight for our future." "This rain accompanies us. This rain protects us. It is in this rain that we shall meet our honorable demise." |

You know this set interests me greatly. For it makes me wonder how much benefit you can get out of it. In all sorts of different game modes. That and it does seem tempting, for certain characters. Given it boost crit damage. Well I think you all know who might benefit from that. There will always be some benefit from it, at the cost of possibly not reaching max value. This is one of these things that shall be greatly interesting to test.
I like this set, but what’s your opinion on it having no secondary effect?
welp, Sparkle was right.
No, Sparkle was being racist.
yep, I agree with that, I didn’t say she isn’t.
I’m just saying she didn’t lie when she said about Sigonians reputation.
Basically racial profiling.
Yeah, the way she aproach it is bad. Like the expected from an antagonist.
Hoyo writters wanted Aventurine to be discriminated by his race to call up your emphasis and that’s how they sell boy characters to young girls in cn. The writters have been insensitive to racism and accedently made Sparkle a racist in turns. To be honest I’m not dissapointed at all because I haven’t been expecting Hoyo writters to write something good.
Yikes… thats kinda big of an accusation. But I’m not defeding them either.
I think its ok to have villains and antagonist that makes bad actions and questionable things, it keeps the story less fairy tailish and more realistic or dark depending on the authors intention, but if that’s the mentality Hoyo writters and devs come up to sell the characters then thats really disgusting.
The problem is that Sparkle isn’t really meant to be a traditional villain, she is a girl-boss morally grey antagonist with a tragic yet somewhat relatable backstory that the player is supposed to enjoy and empathize with, making a character like that racist just incites their fans to defend that racism, because god forbid critical analysis, same with Dr. Ratio.
I think Hoyo is actually trying to make a subplot about racism being bad, they just aren’t doing a good job at it and it comes off as shallow and counter-productive. As much as I enjoy Star Rail, the story is just not serious nor strong enough to cover something like this, they can’t be adding racism to their game when they have one character with skin that isn’t paper white, there’s also the part where the CN word for Sigonians is an actual racial slur for Romanians.
I agree with Salem.
CN is a nation that is literally zero racism. Foreigners and minorities are equally respected and taken care of. Some netizens may express something sounds like racism to mock the sensitiveness to racism of the regions where severe racism present, but they never actually discriminate anyone and have no idea why to do that in the first place.
On the other hand, people in CN have always been insensitive to racism, especially when it comes to fictional creation. It was an accident and a disaster, not Hoyo’s intention.
welp.
I wanna bet this set will be revised through the beta. Seems too good and straightforward for the Hoyoverse games standard lol
Ehh it builds up pretty slowly outside of PF so it’s situational, but when it works it’s great
Pretty great set, gives up the second affect for a very good 40% crit damage bonus, my only thing is, does it just require ANYONE on the team to kill enemies or the wearer specifically?
When enemies are defeated
Not when the wearer defeats enemies
they just have to die
Really like how this set just needs enemies to be defeated, and not specifically by the user of said set
that actually flew over my head.
Feels like a Pure Fiction relic set
surely
Wow, what a cool set. It’s a bit niche, but you can likely get good pieces off this while farming Izumo set for Acheron/Others. If you can get to 10 stacks rather quickly I feel like this will be BiS on most crit units for content with lots of trash mobs (maybe not if you are running Sparkle and getting like +100% crit damage or Jingliu who has a lot of crit damage buffs already). This set is insane for PF obviously, but this set could prob be BiS for MoC too sometimes if there a ton of trash mobs. Especially with bosses who spawn enemies like deer I can see this being perfect. Cool set that changes how you might play.
from another commenter I realized the wording would increase Sparkle crit damage too as you kill enemeis. Could be nice on her for sure. It would increase her personal damage while also increasing her crit damage buff. A 2 for 1. Prob not worth it for Bronya though, because Bronya crit damage percent buff is a way lower portion of her own crit damage. She will still be better with Broken Keel objectively speaking.
Wouldn’t you want like no crit rate on Sparkle, like Bronya, and then just full tank stats? That should be a better build. She only has her basic for damage, it isn’t worth going the sub-dd route with her. Keel will provide a better buff, it doesn’t need to ramp up, and it also gives effect res, helping with fulfilling its own condition
If the enemy is defeated by the team, will their stack increase too? If so, it’ll be suitable for the sparkle.
I hadn’t even though about that, wow. Yeah, it could be great on her. Not like game changing or anything, but could be her BiS if there are a good amount of trash mobs to kill.
Even with just 3 enemies it already beats Keel for personal crit dmg on her
HOWEVER the teamwide 10% CD from keel is more than what this can provide unfortunately
40 Crit dmg only adds 9.6 crit dmg to the buffed unit at lvl 10 skill. And that is only once you reached max stacks, which you more or less can’t have on MoC unless you burn time to farm-kill summoned mobs.
Broken keel gives 10 crit dmg to every other teammates. Plus effect res on yourself.
I have just read the history and it deserves a what the f***.
Makes me even more curious about Aventurine’s backstory
Very good for erudition units in pure fiction, like Herta, Himeko or Serval
Might have to build up my Himeko now.
