  3. Wake-y wake-y, you bunch of hypocrites!
    Where are all those who supposedly care about the health of the game and so on when Castorice fiasco went down, huh? All of you now quiet and even *glug glug* all of this down. Because Castorice and her garbage tier passive totally breaks the game more than a unit with basically infinite turns, 1.7 million average damage per its turn (have I mentioned he basically got lot of those for free?), and immortality while he keeps pummeling everything down in front of him. I sure love when I can just hit auto because there is 0 strategy involved whatsoever with this guy. Get him to ult and all problems of turn-based game go away. Wait for a turn? It’s always his turn. Danger of dying? Doesn’t exist. Damage? Does more than anyone ever before him, and all in single ult.

    Acheron? Firefly? Castorice herself? Funny how certain crowd only appears when it’s a female unit who supposedly breaks the game, yet the same crowd now glazes, cheers and screams for more buffs (because he is totally weak as of now am I right) for a unit that will far more send balance of this game to hell than any of these units I previously mentioned.

      what looks like broken right now will be just “okay” 2-3 patches later
      also, it’s not “always his turn”, his other form has actual speed, that’s not even that high, and enemies do get to act in between attacks.
      but even without that, his only broken feature is his damage, and damage is the thing that gets obsolete really fast in this game

        • You can use whatever character for whatever you want. I am missing several meta characters like Sunday, Robin, Tribbie, Aglaea, The Herta, Jade, Anaxa, Aventurine, Feixiao, Rappa, Fugue etc. and I can still clear all the “endgame” content with no issues. There’s people clearing MOC 12 with moze hypercarry of all things, so yeah you can pretty much play whatever you want. The only characters who’ve been hit really hard are seele, jingliu and the early stellaron hunters. And all but Seele are getting buffed next patch. I’m still seeing people clear MOC 12 with jingliu. If you can’t do MOC 12 without hard meta characters, that seems like a you problem

        • Speak for yourself, I’m missing most meta characters like Sunday, Robin, Tribbie, Therta, Feixiao, Aventurine, Aglaea, Jade, Anaxa etc. and can still clear all the content in the game no problem. I didn’t play for 6 months until Mydei’s banner. Power creep doesn’t seem to be a problem for me. I guess it sucks if your favorite character is Seele though

          • Arbsurd powercreep is unfair, try to compare Kafka E6 to all these E0 brand new shilled chars or E2 Sparkle (literally there are only 4 limited Harmony in the game) it feels like i’m getting scammed!

    • he’ll get nerfed in subsequent versions as per usual, also a character with high scalings doesn’t break the game in a way that’s new at all, usually everyone expects powercreep and as always you can just not pull if you feel a character makes the game too easy because this game hasn’t been hard since break units dropped!!

    • It’s not even about gender or cas’ kit but her global passive setting a precedent. The playerbase basically gave Hoyo the ok to release future characters with possibly better global passives(like increased damage or energy w/e even when not in a team) based on cas and anniversary revenue.

      Idk who is asking for a buff for this guy when we’re already seeing 1000%+ multipliers and 100% increased atk on ult, but power creep sells I guess. Yes, old characters are getting buffed which is nice, only takes 6 months to adjust their numbers and rework their kit a little bit.

    • The joke here, despite the fact I agree with your comment in concept, he is the worst character in the beta and gets dumpstered by Saber.
      I think you people should be smart enough to understand numbers don’t mean anything when your kit is god awful.
      He has a high fixed AV making him bad for AS by default , he is tied to hyper carry supports who give him stats he already self buffs with so hard diminishing returns. He cannot use Tribbie and the Nihility path as a whole. His damage distribution is god awful and it shows in PF where Saber can comfortably 40K while he physically cannot at E0.
      Phainon is literally Firefly 2.0 except he has an even worse kit. Him going solo mode is what kills him, especially when it will come to SP economy after you failed to kill with his first ult.
      He’s a legit bait character and you should honestly realise that. He’s all flair and no substance on the meta.

      i think a lot of people also agree now that castorice’s passive isnt all that gamebreaking, i got her on my side acct which is really weak (i cant really even use her bc my main sustain is fu xuan and uhhhh yea… good luck with those two) and it hasnt even helped me win a game once like its kind of useless honestly. i say this as someone who was upset about it at first lol

    • lol you might be the single most retarded person I’ve seen so far. Castorice doesn’t consume SP, has access to the most broken supports in the entire game, and gets to ignore weakness with said supports, has a 10% damage increase for existing on a team, 25% resist shred for having her memosprite on field, and a global revive. Phainon’s current kit is clunky as fuck, does not get access to characters like Robin, RMC, or Tribbie, over saturates every stat with the exception of crit, and consumes AV while in his ult, which by the way, has HEAVY down time on his nuke. The literal only thing he has going is his multipliers. But go off I guess, you need to cope that castorice isn’t busted somehow, and that you aren’t schizo.

    Question1.:Does that mean when Sunday/Tingyun using Ult on Phainon, he gains 2 Coreflames (1 from his talent and 1 from Energie reg.)

    • I’ve seen a clip and yes, sunday/tingyun will give him 2 coreflames if they ult on him. As for tingyun’s E2, i don’t think it works since the ally with benediction regenerates the energy for themself rather when they get a kill rather than receiving it from an ally.

    he’s a typical destruction unit that deals mostly adjacent damage but also tons of aoe damage.

    core gameplay is stacking his passive of coreflames (up to 12 times) before he can activate his ultimate to transform and launch a territory field (similar to acheron) where only he and the enemies are present in order to give them a beating before he the field cancels itself eventually.

    ways to gain coreflames is either:
    usage of skill = 2 coreflames
    gets buffed by allies or targeted by enemies = 1 coreflame
    ally ability provides energy (such as sunday and houhou ultimates) = 1 coreflame (enemies that regenerate your energy do not apply)
    end of transformation = 3 coreflames (ascension passive)
    talent passive = 3 coreflames (similarly to acheron, he can store 3 coreflames after reaching the max amount of 12)

    if we do the math: minimum of 10 coreflames can be obtained in just a singular round/turn (requiring 2 more coreflames to activate ult again)

    what dmg multiplier will he gain from the most: enemy dmg vulnerability (such as pela and tribbie) because he has decent atk% and dmg% buffs from himself and allies included. only his lightcone introduce a def% ignore which is pretty small by itself.

    orb main stat: atk% and phys dmg% might be equal actually. his scalings would encourage atk% orb but also he has built in atk% bonus so that might not be necessary. would recommend whichever has the best substats because they should be similarly good on him.

    best teammate: sunday (1 turn would potentially give phainon 3 coreflames: skill=1 (buff), ultimate=2 (buff + energy)
    substitutes for sunday: tingyun and houhou also give 3 coreflames in 1 turn.

      • ill just list recommended relic builds in a tier list:

        relics
        S: wavestrider captain (new addition)
        A: champion of streetwise boxing
        note: other sets would work but are very niche and requires you to opt a team for him which ends up being higher maintenance and lower impact than the sets above

        planar set:
        S: rutilant arena
        A: space sealing station
        B: firmament frontline (idk why you would use this, but it’s there)
        note: izumo gensei is kinda whack if you’re considering dual dps because phainon isolates himself and preferably wants single target buffs unless aoe buffs apply to his stacks, and if aoe buffing do apply then you could consider this if you’re doing dual dps.

    • Unlikely. What great versatility gives, trades off absolutely power. CN community will rant a lot if he gets both perks. Given how the kit is settled, the latter will fall slightly behind Castorice. Just wait till V5 we’ll see the multipliers progressively go down for balancing reasons.

      • here another Midcheron copers- don’t even compare
        Phai’s performance will not decrease drastically in single target situations
        he’s also not tied to mid support unit like npc fox and benefitting more from single target buffer (not necessarily Harmony too) in the game than every other chars which is any other Hypercarry unit including Midcheron herself can only wish, so he will just getting better every time from upcoming strong buffer thus his potential is high.
