Hypers and doomsayers, ya’ll missing the big picture. A 2 turn taunt to funnel energy, self-sustain, 1 shot prevention and future synergy with health drain, this guy is a 1-man army. For a new player I can’t think of a better unit to funnel resources into. Ok sure, Acheron and co might out scale him, but—and putting aside all the time spent in the voyager level doldrums who Mydei is great for regardless—you need two teams, right? Team A is your favorite with all the crazy 5 star synergies but then team B is like what? Bronya painstaking trying to dig a Qingque out of a tile debt? Boom! Mydei is here. 3 useless 4 stars and a Mydei to both deal dmg and soak agro for them. Hsr knew what they were doing; release big stronk mank character, let him carry both the loli’s AND the twinks. Drinking, luggage, camping trips? Mydei’s got u bro. *insert Mydei flex*
Going to be honest he’s not as great as he looked. Too much of what needed to be a great is locked behind eidolons.
Without it, I guess you can consider him a Sub-Dps like Moze. Certainly not main dps material.
Man he’s really underwhelming, sad….
I was kinda hyped for him a cos manly man, no goodboy, no “imbadasshehe” (looking at you cringelord boothill), just testosterone.

I couldnt figure out something to make him stand out, jade /mydei /sparkle /luocha is probrably the best comp i tested, sparkle not needing to exclusively bump mydei takes a from him but bumps jade quite a bit, and jade can definetly whip out some damage (winkwink)
My take out of 6h of testing is:
Cone > e1 no my opinion, e2 only relevant with luocha
Speed is NOT irrelevant, on his turns he consumes a lot of his hp, which in turn gives him charges for the bighit
Luocha is back, until a new healer comes that is tailor made for him at least, galla doesnt come even close to how easily luo keeps up with mydai, more so on faster mydei setups
Jade is just as good with him as she is with blade
Bronya/sunday sparkle > more turns > more hp consumed > more charges
sparkle works great on jade+mydei setup, buffs are split btween the two, but dmg output is very solid
tested even with asta and hanya for the speed, not bad if no better harmony is available
I have no interest on 3.2 banners so i’ll probrably still pull for him

is Blade’s Light Cone good enough for him? I’m keeping my guaranteed on the banner for Black Swan’s LC i rly cant spend it on any other LC… :'<

Blade’s LC is his second best opnion, but it’s pretty far from his own LC.
First becouse Blade’s LC give him Crit C, and if you pair Mydei with Sunday (as you should) just Sunday + Mydei’s passive should be enought of Crit C.
Second and most importantly, Mydei want’s to charge his BIG NUKE as fast as possible, and right now there’s only two ways of charging faster: His E2 (with healing) OR his LC (who drains extra HP)…
Soo yeah, he has a good 4* option LC, and Blade’s LC is also good, but his own LC still WAAAAAAY better

Same, I’ve been farming his skills materials only because I don’t know where to use the double drop. I could use them for credits or exp but man, I have enough of those 2 to 1-80 at least 10 characters. We will have to wait to see her gameplay on monday.
yea, but there are also upcoming dedicated support chars for castorice after her release, so investing for her eidolons might be worth it
