Story

TitleText
n/aA security officer from the Bloodhound Family in Penacony. He is also a slovenly and indolent drinksmith.
Though unorganized in apparel and casual in how he makes his drinks, he is always courteous toward visiting guests but keeps his vigilance about him.
He seems to carry a weight of a complicated past, yet he never voluntarily divulges any details.
n/a"The scent of tobacco, candy, and cheap shampoo... he gives off the typical smell of a middle-aged bachelor. While his clothes are tidy, they are always wrinkled and display a lack of style. He also displays no desire to look after his appearance. He doesn't have many friends, and his favorite pastime after work is enjoying a few glasses of Dreamjoy Special. Always sitting at the same spot, with the same drink, and with the same waiters... It's never changed in more than a decade.

Yet such a man won the admiration and respect of the Bloodhound Family members — this is probably related to the scar etched across his face. In a sweet dream practically devoid of any accidents, an ugly scar serves as a rare honor for a security officer, symbolizing seniority and prestige.

Whenever confronted with a case, he would first unwrap a piece of candy and put it in his mouth. When the candy is almost gone with his chewing, he dives into the investigation with furrowed brows and ponders the clues until late in the bar. However, unlike the young officers, he seems to no longer find pleasure in apprehending suspects. When he gazes into the eyes of the so-called criminals who fell so far in the sweet dream, I see no sense of accomplishment in his eyes, only a profound emptiness and melancholy.

I actually understand him. When you reach this stage of life, you'll start to doubt the meaning behind the life you've previously led. It was just like what I have experienced."

Note: The Security Officer of the Bloodhound Family
n/a"People need an opportunity to connect with each other, and the diverse special mixes within the Dreamscape serve as catalysts for such reactions.

As I check out my surroundings, I soon notice an individual who's used to suavely navigating through life.

Using the Dreamjoy Special's fame as a starting point, he starts the conversation with the history of syrups and SoulGlad, explaining to the guests the connection between the time spent shaking the drink and the flavor of the final product. Then, he talks about the degrees of fit between the special mix's aroma with an individual's personality, and how to master the secret of matching the right ingredients... The surrounding faces drown in darkness. He listens to the whispers of sorrow or joy, all the while coldly observing the hearts of the masses as the drinking party continues.

He waits for all the guests to depart, then polishes the silver cups on his own until they gleam while gazing out the door. Day after day, he waits for someone who will never return, waiting for that person to give him an eternal lie that will end such a never-ending destiny.

He walks alone down the street as lights go out one after another, and he casts a long shadow behind him —
Perhaps I, too, will step on to the same predetermined path as he is on."

Note: Dreamjoy Drinksmith
n/a"There is only happiness in the sweet dream, which forms its greatest misfortune.

These disillusioned individuals in the dream are terrified of The Family chasing them away. They wander like specters on the fringes of the Dreamscape, carefully concealing their emotions and avoiding memories that smell sour or bitter. Their defenses will only crumble during the brief moments after they imbibe the special mix as if they want to say everything they would ever want to say in the rest of their lives...

'If people who look down on me lined up, the queue be long enough to go around The Reverie three times. But those who are willing to treat me with respect... *sigh* there's one less of them every time one of them dies...'
'Everyone daydreams. When I was your age, I aspired to become an intergalactic outlaw. The result is clear: The daydream shattered.'
'You won't notice it when your tie is askew. In Penacony, no one cares about what others were. They don't even care if others are *human* or not.'
...

Their words ring hollow, often insincere and perfunctory, never revealing their true thoughts. However, that's the only way the story can feel real."

Note: Disillusioned Ones in the Dreamscape
n/a"During working hours, he presents himself as a seasoned and composed security officer. His prime has passed, he is more lenient, and his ambitions and aspirations have faded with the shattering of his dreams. After work, he would head to the familiar lounge to spend the long nights, mixing drinks for himself and longtime friends. As glasses clink, those conversations flow and fizzle like foams, then instantly disappear.

He reminisces about the golden years when he yearned for freedom despite his captivity. Together, they fought against oppression, entrusting their lives to one another. They dreamed of a free land. They might die any moment, yet acted as if they already held countless wonderful tomorrows within their grasp. However, there were not enough of them to fight back. Familiar friends perished one by one. Ideals crumbled, and atrocities prevailed...

'Is that something you lived through? You... you must be kidding, right?' The guest interrupts his gloomy soliloquy.
'Of course not. How can it possibly be true?' He smiles and resumes his work.

...Gallagher is my most truthful lie. Sometimes, I can't even distinguish between him and myself."

      • If you ask me, he’s just a healer with some break possibilities, but I don’t think you even have a reason to build a healer who tries to deal some damage just because it’s unreasonable. Maybe he’s a good fire breaker, but he’s bad at his main function – supporting, because debuffs are really annoying and I know what I say after a half a year Bailu gaming. Maybe his heal is big, but any control or big dot and heal just won’t help you. And almost every enemy has some form of it.
Anyways, I really hope he still has some cases. I’ve noticed several debuffs on his ult and charged na. So what about Acheron comps? Two more her stacks could be really useful even without dispell, so I hope it works.

        • He’s good for acheron comps yeah, because he’ll build stacks for her
I think he may also be decent in PF since his minimal healing and AoE ult+ easy breaks can actually do some good dmg

  1. Ok guys so here’s the ideal build in my opinion. Why and how to achieve included.

Lightcone: What is real? S5 – provides great amount BrE and also makes him heal himself = more survivability for him. Currently BiS since its the only LC taht gives BrE for abundance.

4pc Relic set: Thief of shooting meteor. – provides good BrE and also some energy when he breaks an enemy.

Main stats: Body: Healing bonus. Gives more heals from skill and Ultimate (aka talent that works from ultimate debuff), and he is hard to build as sub-DPS. You can try but it is gonna be hard with his current mechanism and traces. Can be crit rate for sub dps.
Boots: SPD to make him take more turns, generate more skill points and energy (plus breaks on enemies) or get more chances to heal if needed.

Planar set: Talia: Kingdom of Banditry for Break effect and forced speed.
Link rope: If you don’t have ruan mei then go for BrE, if you do have her then you can go ER. You can still opt for BrE even with ruan mei if you wanna make him do damage solely on his break. Atk% for those that will try to make him do damage and have Ruan mei.
Sphere: HP% for pure break to make him survive, or depending on your substats. This piece is pretty free. Beware that atk and bonus elemental dmg does NOT help with break dmg, so there`s no need to get thos for him (unless youre building him to do some damage as well)

-Note: Watchmaker set doesn’t work on him since his Ultimate isn’t used on allies, so don’t run it on him.

Overall stat goals: (we’re considering having E0S0 Ruan Mei and that she has the Watchmaker set. Then the stats mentioned above)

Break effect: 250%. With conditions mentioned above, he has (20+30+32+36+37.5+48)=203.5 WITHOUT a BrE rope. With BrE rope you even go over that which is great. It’s up to you if you’ll aim for 50%BrE in subtats to make him do some extra damage from his attacks and give him atk% rope, or go the easy way around and full on BrE. Keep in mind that his E6 gives him extra 20%BrE that sint calculated in there yet, making him easier to reach that 250% without a rope.

Speed: 145+ for planar set bonus and to just regenerate energy more and be able to provide skill points/healing faster, depending on need. with boots and ruan mei he has 132.8 speed, aka he needs 7 in subs (easy)

Atk and crit stats are optional, depends wether you wanna go bonkers break or some slight damage from his attacks as well.

Talents: Sub DPS build: Base atk>ultimate>talent>skill.
-this way he does most damage through his basic attack and ultimate, though it may not be as much as you hope it would be.
Break effect + heal build: Talent>skill=ultimate>atk.
-here you’re trying to make him do most damage through his breaks and then heal, since his break effect comes hand in hand with his healing effectiveness, it’s easy to build. He’ll only do damage from breaks though so keep that in mind.

Goals: Make his ult debuff applied as much as possible for lots of heals, and try to make sure he’s the one breaking the enemy. That’s his playstyle. Break and keep the Ult on for healing and bonus break dmg.

Teams: “F2P Burn them little Gui!” Gallagher, Ruan Mei, Guinfei and Asta.
-Focuses on Burn for Guinfei to trigger with her ultimate. Others support her by applying burn or other buffs that might help. If you have Silver wolf you can put her in instead of Asta to apply fore weakness if needed, to allow Burn break effect.

“Break is a DoT remember?” Gallagher, Ruan Mei, Kafka, Another Dot(preferably Guinfei)/Asta.
-This is bit more expensive and requires you to have Kafka of course, and another DoT user, which you probably have if you have Kafka. You can use BS or other DoT units other than little Gui if you really wanna focus on DoT, but then gallagher would loose some of his value so Guinfei would be better to pair with Kafka in this team to make Gallagher more valuable. He would loose value since his Ult increases only Break dmg, which isn’t a DoT most other DoT primarly use. Guinfei would allow for more burn breaks and also to trigger his break dmg again, unlike others, meaning… More Burns! However, if you have Kafka and Blackswan then put them in another team since they’re together more valuable and Gallagher would fill a slot that can be filled with someone better for that team.

Overall review: With ruan Mei, Gallagher will be eeasy to build and very fun to play for his versitality (Burn break damage, healer, monster breaker and debuff…) . Make sure you add Guinfei (or Kafka if you’re lucky), so that you can trigger that burn from his break for more damage. He puts more options for break dmg teams as they now have a sustain character that also applies break, so yeah. Just makes the break team whole now 😀

Thanks for reading and feel free to ask if there are any unclarities. My over explaining can get confusing haha.

  4. You can get a 3 turn (he advances after ult so I don’t count that turn) ult Using this 1 enhanced basic, 2 basics and 1 skill
    (5+20+20+20+30)*1.195 = 113.05
This gives besotted 100% uptime at e4, assuming Gallagher outspeeds enemies, but also requires him to use SP
So 2NA+E or 4NA (not including his enhanced NA) are his most basic energy rotations I can think of
4NA can also be done without an ERR rope but it requires being hit, getting a kill or breaking 2 enemies (4pc rhief)

        • I misspelled, it is 109.99 energy. And even without break rope and What Is Real lightcone it is very duable to get 120 break effect with the thief set, which should be enough to kill trash mobs, and you dont really want to fire break bosses, you only need about 50 break effect from substats (about 9-10 rolls), and break is pretty much the only substat he needs.

meaning around 13 per relic rope already being main, which isnt THAT hard but still quite tall order
also he gets like almost 30? from his traces. While it feels unreachable its much closer than it seems

  5. (this was done at like 3am and chances are it’s very inaccurate, also I removed energy calcs because I assumed his enhanced basic would give 30 energy)

    GALLAGHER- 4* FIRE/ABUNDANCE

    BUILD-
    ●4PC WATCHMAKER
    BODY- OUTGOING HEALING BONUS
    FEET- SPD
    ●2PC TALIA
    ORB- HP/DEF%
    ROPE- ENERGY REGEN%

    RECOMMENDED LIGHT CONES-
    ●WHAT IS REAL
—This is my only recommendation as it is free and provides a massive break effect% boost, as well as self healing

    RECOMMENDED STATS
    ●BREAK EFFECT-
    250% RECOMMENDED
        — 37.5% (TRACES) + 20% (E6) + 48% (WHAT IS REAL) + 16% (THIEF/WATCHMAKER) + 30% (WATCHMAKER 4PC) + 36% (TALIA) = 187.5%
    ○REQUIRED SUBS TO REACH 250 = 10.7
    ○WITH RUAN MEI = 7.5
    ●SPEED-
    145 RECOMMENDED
    98+25 = 123
    ○REQUIRED SUBS TO REACH 145 = 9.5
    ○WITH RUAN MEI = 5.3
    ●OUTGOING HEALING BONUS-
    109.5 RECOMMENDED
—This will maximise Gallagher’s healing output

    HEALING CALCULATIONS***-
    ●SKILL-
    1800*2.095 = 3771
    ●TALENT-
    600*2.095 = 1257

    BREAK DMG CALCULATIONS****-
    ●BREAK (60 TOUGHNESS)-
    ((((((3767*2)*3.5)*0.5)*0.9)*1.08)*1.12) = 11866
    ●BREAK (300 TOUGHNESS)
    ((((3767*2)*3.5)*0.5)*0.9)*3 = 35598
    ●BREAK (60 TOUGHNESS W/ RUAN MEI)-
    ((((3767*2)*3.5)*0.5)*0.9) = 14353
    ●BREAK (300 TOUGHNESS W/ RUAN MEI)
    (((((((3767*2)*3.5)*0.5)*0.9)*1.08)*1.12)*3) = 43059

    TEAM RECOMMENDATIONS-
Gallagher works in most teams being a sustain, but he will be most effective in teams with Ruan Mei
    Some of my personal suggestions:
    ●Himeko+Herta:
    Himeko, Herta, Ruan Mei, Gallagher
    ●Mono fire:
Topaz (or other fire dps), Asta, Silver Wolf, Gallagher
    ●DoT:
Kafka, 2nd DoT, Ruan Mei, Gallagher

**not recommended as Gallagher will lose out on stats
***The assumed base values are as follows:
    ○Skill: 1800 at trace 12
    ○talent: 600 at trace 12
****Assumes the target has 1000def and 0% fire res

      • using Saucekun’s calculations and taking out the 4pc effect and instead using 2pc +2pc BE, without E6 youd be at 153.5 with E6 173.5. HOWEVER since his best friend is Ruan Mei she would give the 4pc 30% BE as well as her skill 50% meaning at would really be 233.5( Not E6) and 253.5 at E6. So for non E6 havers with Ruan Mei you’d need about 2-3 rolls in BE. Its also worth noting that watchmaker cant be stacked, so if you were gonna use him with Ruan Mei he would have to go 2pc +2pc BE

      • That is true but If you run him with Ruan Mei then he would get 30% BE and watchmaker doesnt stack so he would have to go 2pc +2pc anyway. using Saucekun’s numbers at E0 183.5 and E6 203.5. so at E0 you would need 11.4 BE sub rolls and at E6 9 sub rolls

      • He brings good toughness/break damage to the team, can easily become personally immune to all debuffs at e1, and the 100% advance forward means he has uniquely good sp generation + quid pro quo holder potential. Imo he’d be way too good for a 4* if he had a cleanse.

    • Going by my 3 am math, 5% energy regen sets reduces his ult rotation by one turn, assuming only basics. With this you can run BE rope and What is real and still have a shorter ult rotation.
