290 responses to “Fugue”

  1. • HMC provides;
    – Super Break
    – big Break Effect (~33%+30%+35% / no Relic set included)
    – Delay
    • Ruan Mei provides;
    – Weakness Break Efficiency (50%)
    – small Break Effect (20% / no Relic set included)
    – small Speed
    – RES PEN (Noted: similar to Def Reduction (not the same but can be compared))
    – Delay
    – Bonus Damage (useless)
    • Fugue
    – Super Break
    – Weakness Break Efficiency (50%)
    – medium Break Effect (30%) for 1 unit
    – medium Break Effect (6%+12%+6%+12%) for the entire team
    – Def Reduction
    – Delay

    Roughly calculation:
    • HMC + Ruan Mei;
    – Super Break x Weakness Break Efficiency: 4 characters x 1.5 = 6x
    – Break Effect = 33%+30%+35%+20% = 118%
    – Others: (Delay + Delay) + small Speed + [RES PEN]
    – Unique buff: small Speed
    • HMC + Fugue
    – 2 x (Super Break) x Weakness Break Efficiency: 2 x (4 characters) x 1.5 = 12x
    – Break Effect
    – 33%+30%+35%+30%+6%+12%+6%+12% = 164% for main DPS
    – 33%+30%+35%+6%+12%+6%+12% = 134% for others
    – Others: (Delay + Delay) + [Def Reduction]
    – Unique buff: None
    • Ruan Mei + Fugue
    – Super Break x (Weakness Break Efficiency + Weakness Break Efficiency) = 4 characters x 2 = 8x
    – Break Effect
    – 30%+6%+12%+6%+12%+20% = 86% for main DPS
    – 6%+12%+6%+12%+20% = 56% for others
    – Others: (Delay + Delay) + small Speed + [RES PEN] + Def Reduction
    – Unique buff: small Speed + Def Reduction

    Conclusion;
    • 1st: HMC + Fugue
    – Provides the most team damage with Highest stack from Super Break and Weakness Break Efficiency (12x Super Break Damage)
    – Highest Break Effect buff so it can be compensated with the lack of excess buff like small Speed and RES PEN.
    • 2nd: Ruan Mei + Fugue
    – Provide 8x Super Break Damage
    – Lowest Break Effect buff but can be compensated with the excess buff like small Speed and RES PEN.
    – Can break mobs fastest. If you think it’s not already fast enough, this combo will make it faster.
***Noted: I would say Break Effect/small Speed/RES PEN should be neutral when we compare 1st and 2nd since 1st has high Break Effect and 2nd has excess buff. So just judge from Super Break Damage vs How fast you can break. 1st can provide more overall damage. 2nd can break faster but less damage. In my opinion, Firefly can break fast enough already.***
    • 3rd: HMC + Ruan Mei
    – Provide only 6x Super Break Damage
    – Medium Break Effect with excess small Speed and RES PEN.

    Bonus:
    • Firefly can break her main target touchness 90 units and 45 units for the adjacent enemies. (With her own buff = 135 and 67.5)
    – Each of this provide 1 stack (for easier understanding)
    – Fugue
    – Fugue E1
    – Ruan Mei
    – Firefly E6
    – 1 stack: 180/90
    – 2 stacks: 225/112.5
    – 3 stacks: 270/135
    – 4 stacks: 315/157.5 (Only possible with Firefly E6)
    • Most bosses (the middle ones) have touchness between 115-172 (mostly 120)
    • Most minions (the side ones) have touchness between 83-118 (mostly 100)
    • So if you have both Ruan Mei and Fugue, you can break 3 minions at once with just 1 attack. But if you plan to pull Fugue E1, there is no need for Ruan Mei to be in the team anymore. That 270/135 isn’t that useful. The threshold is only at 2 stacks. While 270/135 seems to be useful since you can break some bosses being adjacent units, it’s not. In the end, we pick them as the middle target for more damage. And if you want Ruan Mei + Fugue E1, the overall damage is still lower than HMC + Fugue E1.
    • I recommend Ruan Mei + Fugue if you are E0 collector. This duo can break adjacent units with 1 attack.
    • I recommend HMC + Fugue if you aim to pull Fugue E1. This is the highest damage and utility possible.
    • I don’t have Boothill or Rappa though.
    • For those who say “Fugue replaces HMC so he can go Resemblance”, I think it’s more like “Fugue replaces Ruan Mei so she can be put in another team”.

    • You’re a foolish one if you thinking Fugue is for buffing Firefly.
Fugue is for buffing Lingsha, so she can deal AoE Toughness Reduction like Rappa.
So Firefly just simply finish the job.
All your math calculations is completely wrong if in the beginning you’re wrong.
Let me said this again, Fugue is not for your DPS’s, Fugue is for your Lingsha.
      now, repeat after me.

    • So many mistakes…
“Fugue: Weakness Break Efficiency (50%)” – It’s not the same as Ruan Mei. Ruan Mei INCREASES break efficiency, but Fugue not – she allows you to ignore any vulnerabilities with 50% efficiency, it’s not the same…
      “medium Break Effect (30%) for 1 unit” – it’s not “for 1 unit”, it’s ONLY for Fugue…
“medium Break Effect (6%+12%+6%+12%) for the entire team” – it’s NOT for the entire team, it’s for all teammates except Fugue…

If you replace the sustain as well then it’s not so bad unless ofc you have a more invested sustain like E1 Lingsha who absolutely should not be replaced due to not only the extra damage she gives Firefly but because of the damage she does herself.

          • HMC+Fugue delay is comparable i think. It’s 30%+15% and doubles by breaking twice. And with eidolons and pearls on Fugue, team already has 96% DEF reduction without Ruan Mei. I have E2S1 FF, E1S1 Lingsha, E1S1 Ruan Mei and i plan to get E1 Fugue. Team with RM will break slightly faster, but with HMC will have MUCH more damage.

  3. a character with immense potential like jiaoque wonder why hoyo hates foxians and have them somehow hanging with skill set that not too shabby but not very satisfying either.

for one the ult and enhanced basic attack really need some work :

    1. ults too bland, has lower damage multiper then some aoe ult and it’s rainbow break isn’t as relevant for her imo, could have added action delay like welt, just more def red like pela or have it restore cloudflame luster after it reaches 0 or smthg

    2. enhanced basic attack ain’t doing anything extra there maybe an effect like hanya skill, vulnerability or speed red could work

as I mentioned before her skill set is not bad but it does fell like it’s deliberately made not as good as it can be

also nihility doesn’t have very great set of lc f2p compared to harmony also normally u wouldn’t build her as main dps so u can’t count on her to deal a lot of super break like DPS aven, it’s possibly but not always feasible

    • I feel like the fault lies in the way they make harmony MC’s kit. They made their kit to be so good, to the point that fugue, a limited 5*, is mostly a sidegrade to them. Look at her performance in firefly team! Disappointing.

Now her value as a whole relies heavily on her passive exo toughness. Have a team thar plays around weakness break? shes a must pull. Not? skip

  4. How big is an increase compare to HMC? And does an E2S1 Ruan Mei diminishes her value or raises it? I’m not sure if I should pull for her, given that we’ll get rememberance MC (if he ends up being a good unit but he’ll surely be) :0

    • Stronger than HMC, the increase is situational because Rappa and Boothill benefit from eco-toughness a LOT more than Firefly (Boothill stacks trickshot faster and Rappa gets more charge stacks/energy against elites, Firefly doesn’t get anything special)
Ruan Mei E1 boosts Fugue’s value because of stacking def shred, E2 doesn’t interact with anything Fugue does and S1 gives a tiny bit more energy

      • I guess if you’re here you must be conflicted between whether to summon her or not,Here’s my take:
-It can be Ruan Mei situation but we don’t know how much future proof sunday will be given not every unit is gonna be summon specific since they tend to bring 2-3 new mechanics every big patch 2.0-2.2 being dot proof 2.3 to 2.7 break proof while old teams still being viable in the game

-You gotta take a pointer if you realized Ruan Mei isn’t the only harmony unit.Robin came after her and she does help more to the most of the units and them both coming later like 1.6 – 2.2

-Fugue is a must because trust on me on this you’ll need Rememberance Main Character and he/she has been useful than their previous predecessors.

-Fugue is a insta upgrade over HMC and a bit of a personal opinion myself but i never liked HMC’s goofy dance and voiceline repeating over and over again doing nothing they have zero synergy apart from talent and eidolons and most of the time you’re wasting their skills on non type enemies. With Fugue every break and toughness will be consistent and most importantly it’s pleasing to the eye i mean who wouldn’t like HSR Ahri right 🙂

Just don’t forget to prepare and pull for eidolons at least E1 because if you don’t you’re gonna have regrets later.Pulling a character and building just about enough materials and commitment is enough to carry you whole patches even so game is getting powercreepered. She’s unique and there will be plenty Sunday like harmony units for specific teams or not will be there.Worst scenario you can pull with a more clear mind on a rerun it wont take long if you have patience since nothing is changing on this game you’re just pulling for characters that take dozens of time to build is all.

  6. Is Fugue actually also a good character in team with JING YUAN + SUNDAY + FLEXIBLE/SUSTAIN?

I am just wondering, her also being a kind of hypercarry support with her skill, actually could make JY and his LL become even more universal and versatile with the ignore toughness and reduce DEF buff/debuff.

    • probably not, fugue and sunday buff on different axis that don’t help each other. Sunday buffs crit for one character (and their pets). Fugue buffa break, which can’t crit.

    • Ehhh… sorta? Jing Yuan won’t be dealinga a ton of break damage, though, so most of her kit is lost. If you really want defense drops, Pela would be a much better choice.

    • Theres many issues using fugue with jingyuan. For starters jingyuan is erudition, and his toughness dmg are low (10 on BA & skill, 20 on ult). Since fugue skill buff only gives 50% all type toughness ignore his toughness dmg would be even lower for non lightning weak enemies. Another issue is that the def shred is only 18%, which is negligible unless you have E1 sunday, and even then pela would be better in this department.

so yeah… jingyuan with fugue could works, but most likely perform suboptimal. I could see it viable in PF since mobs only has 10-30 toughness bar. Other than that, I dont think fugue adds anything of value to jingyuan
