  1. I feel that guides really don’t help because when they start talking about best relics they don’t mention their best. For instance Firefly can use the Thief of Shooting Meteors because that gives you break effect, and for orbs and link rope you can literally use the set that increases your break effect even more. I get that crit dmg and crit rate are good but I just think that people don’t want to farm that.

    I’m building my Firefly the way I want to not what others say. Trying to pull Firefly and her LC but that’s really how I want people to build characters the way they want to.

  2. Her animations during the ult are… not what I expected.

    I expected more of Firefly normally, red-flame SAM during ult.

      • Yeah, still too early. Eidolons, especially the early ones, are VERY likely to change.

        We’ve had early eidolons added to base kits, swapped around, completely changed, etc., so it all depends on what changes are made over the next handful of weeks. Probably about ~4 weeks from now, 2 weeks from release, we’ll have a mostly finalized kit.

    • Acheron needs 2 nihillity to be viable. Windfly needs HMC and Ruan Mei to be viable. Damage should be at the same level.

    • Probably, probably not. But take into consider hoyo is creating a new fight mechanic that is breaking toughness. There will be enemies that doesn’t actually die from the HP bar but toughness bar, so Boothill and Firefly will become powerful to those enemies since dmg become a side factor against them. Acheron has ignore element toughness dmg but it isn’t strong enough to fight those huge toughness bar alone

  3. As a HUGE fan of Firefly ever since she was initially revealed to the player in ver 2.0, I have to say I am extremely disappointed with her animations. In particular the fact that she starts out in battle already in the form of SAM is a massive missed opportunity. Her basic attack and skill should have been with her in human form and then the ultimate should have been a super crazy awesome Mahou Shoujo transformation into SAM. Enhanced Basic and Enhanced Skill obviously should be SAM too, then when her transformation expires, she goes back to human form. Shit sucks, wtf MiHoYo… This is like common sense, I don’t get how they could mess up something so obvious.

    Wind-blowing idle is decent enough, but the other one is pretty lame. I also hate how you can’t even see SAM flying around whilst using her Technique, just a stupid circle AoE on the ground. >_<

    I've come to expect amazing things from this company in terms of animation work but this is straight up disappointing as f*ck. I'll still get Firefly (since I freaking love everything else about her), but I'm not gonna whale for all her Eidolons like I was initially planning to. What a lukewarm bittersweet feeling I get from these animations/ kit. All I can say is what a damn shame.

      • I mean, she’s out there running around and swinging her sword at enemies in the overworld. I don’t think it’s asking much for her to get a few moves while in combat. Heck, they coulda turned her frailty into a mechanic so if she’s not in SAM mode she takes higher dmg from enemies or some shit to incentivize the player keeping her Ulti mode up as long as possible. It’d increase the tension for when the Ulti duration ends since she’d be way more vulnerable; could maybe buff her Enhanced dmg multipliers to compensate.

        After Archeron and Sparkle, I expect more creativity from HoYoverse. Especially for such a hyped up character like Firefly. I still love her, but man she deserved so much better.

  5. I see somebody is doubting her power… WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE? WHAT ON EARTH IN THE “50 free speed, vul apply, action advance, 40% res shred, huge skill scales, ult in two turns” SEEMS NOT UNDERSANDABLE FOR YOU? This unit is cracked, a kit with THIS amount of value is ABSURD, and I don’t care “the build is too difficult”or anything. Amount of juice you can squeeze out of this is BROKEN, and I don’t know how can you squeak something like “miiiiddd”.
    Also, no one makes you hit the threshold. You may use 30% shred instead of 40% and won’t lose too much damage. I would theorycraft something like atk boots, cr body, atk sphere, be rope and HMC/RM, Sparkle and utility (the most comfortable variant must be Luocha). In that case you hit like 80% CrR, don’t even care about CrD, (sparkle’s speed + 1) speed in ult, and 250+ BE and as much ATK as possible. I don’t believe in pure break dmg Sam. Break triggers once a few turns (if you’re not a cowboy) and why should you maximize the damage? Just build some crits and live happily with scales bigger than IL’s and double sparkle turns.

        In HSR every new character is *broken*. Every single new character was somehow much better than previous of the same role.
        So I think it’s obvious Sam one way or another will be broken and his current state brightly shows it. Remember, he’s the first Non-cringe fire multi-target breaker and has WEAKNESS APPLICATION.
        (Even jade, one of the most scamming and second most boring after argenti five star in the game will be a monster in PF, even being complete trash in other modes.)

      People are making valid complaints and showing concern. I guarantee you, this will not be the final kit. A 5 star whose best support will forever be the Trailblazer is just… really?

      I’ll shatter any illusions you have of building Crit by saying, her current kit is like a Fire Jingliu. It even has 40% Def shred, isn’t that cool? Just forget you aren’t getting 50 Crit Rate and 180ATK, or the 0 cost Skill, or an ultimate that actually does damage and doesn’t solely advance you forward.

      She’s a break character. Her best teammates are RM and Imaginary Trailblazer, and her numbers are ehh. She’s not bad, but nothing crazy either.

        • You are aware this is a beta test version. Not the final release. So of course thing might be different on release. It happens all the time. Characters get changed a fair bit before release. Think it bit hard to judge someone take base on a early beta build. That is likely to change.

          My first post ever was in February, she has gotten buffs since then. An entire new mechanic, ripped straight from her eidolons implented into her base kit.

          She’s still the least new player friendly DPS. 3/4 of her team wants limited Lightcones, and ideally not at S1, because it’s incredibly scuffed

          Her damage numbers are dissingenious. Not only is she prone to overkilling fodder, but if an enemy is at 30% HP, though luck you have to ult

          Keep in mind, every performance of Acheron so far has been under buffs, blessings and enemies tailor made for her. Most people also have Eidolons and 5 star lightcones, which skwes their perception

          I’m more than happy to be known as a hater if I dispell blind hype. Just like the ubiquitous man himself said, think for yourself

          Acheron is just a DPS, ever replacable.

      • what’s wrong with the trailblazer being the support? besides, even with the 180% ATK firefly’s multipliers are still larger, with that being said its subject to change

        hoyo realistically cannot fuck firefly up, shes already such a popular character and if they make her weak then sales go crashing down

      • Man, Jinglu has much lesser scales, much worse break, no 50 speed (50 speed >> 50 cr), no self-defense, self-healing, no def shred, after all.
        800% + 2* BE (BE is at least 250% which makes it apocalyptic 1300%) on skill is meh, really.

        And why on earth should be be break-only unit? She can’t deal break damage in any way than direct break, which sucks. BE for her is just a secondary stat, she’s not Boothill.

      • Yeah getting the substats you want is hard in general. For want crit damage and speed? Get nothing but crit rate. Want some crit rate and crit damage? All goes into hp% and defense.

    • Accept reality please. She will be trash if compare with any new tier of dps like Archeron. She is just Dhil level which is bad for now a days meta because the new powercreep spike is crazy high. Midyuan use to be launch as trash but rise up for a few patch after get some dedicated support and relic onece they sold new unit and rerun Midyuan then Archeron appear Midyuan is staight up to garbage where he use to be and gone forever never rise again. Firefly will not be like him for sure she will get buff alot in beta she will be just fine at launch and she will also rise abit for sure for a curtain patch. Then new support appear to replace HarmMc then they rerun FF. Onece this two unit is sold suddently new fire dps appear FF will fly to staight to garbage. This pattern is clear.

      • Dude. What the hell are you talking about. Power creep is not crazy high. People just seem big damage per screen shot and go ohhh shiny. WHich also Dhil is still a very good dps. How is being as good as him a bad thing? You just say things and don’t back it up at all.

        • Brutally powercreep how ? Powercreep is there, but I have yet to see any 5* dps in a proper team, even without some ideal 5* harmony, fail to clear any hard contents. Sure it takes longer than some char like Jingliu, but that is like 1 – 2 cycles slower in MoC 12 assume you don’t have good builds / stats / teams on both of them. Unless 1 – 2 cycle is brutal for you then it is a you problem to me xD

          • Yeah the only time you will have issue with hard content is if your lacking good healers/shielders and your other characters not build up enough to just do crazy dps. Otherwise with good healers/shielders. You can clear hard content, even if it might take awhile, long as they are well build.

            Which yeah if one means some units are better than others by power creep. That is true. However if they mean, oh yeah. Your characters are totally worthless due to the new flavor of the month coming out. Yeah they are not correct there. I think some just want to promote the fear of missing out or make the game sound way worst than it is for some reason. For you can still clear the content with older units.

            Now if they buff up the difficulty due to releasing new stronger units, yeah that would be the worst case of power creep. Which of course given the op of this thread and others have not really shown any proof. Just go around shouting power creep power creep. while trying to say something but it all comes off like a bird repeating something a human said but in a broken tongue. I think they don’t understand. If you want people to be sway to your point of view. You have to some form of reasoning and logic. Not just blind emotion.

    • If you let those comment get to you then your will is weak. You don’t need other people to tell you if a unit is worth pulling or not.

      • Well alot of people are theory crafting. part of the fun is to figure things out, which some power do pull characters for raw power. Now if you meant. The people shouting power creep, without backing it up at all. Ok then. For yeah the power creep people are crazy and just want to make people feel bad for their character pulls.

  6. Just curious if anyone else here is also skipping firefly NOT due to gameplay but rather design. I just thought her personality and design seems… too plain? And not into mechas personally so that side doesn’t appeal much either. Also skipped acheron lol, maybe I’m just a weirdo. Perhaps subconsciously don’t like the fomo around hyped up chars as well and am reacting to that negatively too i dunno.

    Anyway, just bit concerned since probably will have a more difficult time with next MoC as there isn’t really an alternative fire dps (hook copium) unlike with acheron where you can use kafka or JY if you have them. Is she meant to be a good generalist for AS and PF too or is it just MoC specifically? Might be in trouble if they push content to sell her in those modes too especially AS as it is break focused.

    • People who skip aren’t actively flaunting it lol. For every character out there, from the overpowered Ruan Mei, to the hyped Acheron, there are plenty who skipped

      I fully get you, I was very hooked. But she ended up not ticking certain boxes and expectations. I really dislike they didn’t focus on the robot, and just went with this whole, “here’s a reminder EVERY TIME YOU ATTACK, that a cute girl is in the robot”. The enhanced state just looks like a downgrade, Green Blades… why? Just spew more fire, show show the suit get physical. Her kick is peak design, not some random green explosion.

      Oh and being a purely break unit ehh. I expected her to be akin to Xueyi, just the 5 star version. Not fire Boothil

        • Before I pulled his LC he had abt 6000~ HP and 85/160 crit, so yeah it was a pretty alright build
          Now with his LC he’s at 103/160 because I don’t wanna go back to the mines for less CR

          • I think we all hate farming for relics. Given lets face it. Crit rate crit damage, are like the rarest stats ever and if you do get them. More often than not, the rolls go into flat defense or something equally bad.

          • Yeah I think Bruh is just trying to make people feel bad for their choice of unit pulls. Like you can’t pull every character. That and well, once you get the characters you want. Do you really need someone you don’t care about? Given you could build another dps or you could upgrade one of the dps you already have and given them some bloody decent relics.

            For yeah. Dps are a dime a dozen. Not sure why Bruh is making it seem odd to skip , dps. Which are the most easily replacable characters due to being a dime a dozen.

        • Not really sure about being overly sexualized. Given a bit of cleavage, a bit of leg and shows off the belly. While covering most of her body up. Like heck even her hands are cover up and everyone knows hand holding is the most lewd thing around. Which is rather tame. compare to the Nikki game that has animated bouncing rears and characters with far more revealing clothing. Heck I could see more revealing clothing by walking out side than what they gave Acheron.

        • Honestly. lets face it. Alot of these people just seem like they are marketing staff for the game. To promote fear of missing out or promoting people to spend or regret they pulled for a character they have no need for or didn’t want. For while say some might agree or disagree on the whole Sam and firefly thing. I think at the end of the day. We can all agree on one thing. We all have different taste in characters and our accounts most likely would benefit from different characters. Like you might need a dps. I might need a healer or a shielder. So calling someone weird for skipping a character, does seem rather odd. When well, their account might have little to no use for such a character. That or maybe the character only really works well with limited five star characters. making their teams very costly to get up and running. Without taking into account artifacts. Beside everyone has only so much money and jades to roll for characters with. Your going have to skip characters sooner or later. More so if your 50/50 luck is trash.

          • Exactly that. For example, I skipped Acheron for Aventurine and Luocha because I already had good DPS but my only sustains were Lynx and Gepard, I needed something better so I grabbed them instead.

            If I pulled for every character I’d go insane trying to build them all xD

          • Yeah I can feel ya on the whole building them all bit. Still got a few characters I need to build up properly and maybe get back around to a few older characters. To rebuild them. Since yeah their builds are far from the greatest. If I had to throw a new character or two on top of that every single patch. Yeah it would drive someone insane. More so given how rng artifacts are.

      When Penacony was first teased and they showed all the different characters, Robin, Sam, and Black Swan were my faves hands down. Then I did the story and along with his kit, Firefly and Aventurine joined them and I was even ready to skip Robin to get both Sam and Firefly.

      But then the reveal happened. I don’t like Sam cuz it’s not a cool robot anymore but rather a waifu pretending to be one. I don’t like Firefly as much anymore because she ruined Sam. I wanted them to be separate characters even if it meant one was not playable. But here we are and it’s why I’m pulling for Jade instead, even though from a “meta” perspective Jade is the worse of the two. But at least it’s a nice design that isn’t tainted 😀

    • She’ll likely be pretty good for PF, other Destruction like Blade and Jingliu can be great with enough speed/action advance (also depends on current phase buff)

      Since Firefly’s only AoE is blast attack with enhanced skill, she will clear wave 1 and 2 slower than Himeko but probably make up for it in wave 3 with higher ST damage

    • Hard to say, giving her DPS is tight to Ult state you would most likely have downtime to reactive it. 2 Turns for it wouldn’t be a great thing in Pure fiction, so I kind of doubt she will be good in there, much like Jingliu

      But assume there are a lot of Fire weakness enemies, you could pair Himeko with her and put her on the other Half if the other is Ice weakness half, otherwise I can’t see a Destruction unit will be great in PF on their own normally, at least without any buff relate to them like FUA buff that made Clara great in one ver
