Character DetailsIn the fallen city of bandits, Dolos, the 300 Rogues run wild and free.
Race onward, fleet-footed Thief Star Cifera, Chrysos Heir of the "Trickery" Coreflame. May your web of lies spread with the breeze throughout all lands.
"Tryna trick me? Not a chance!"
Character Story: Part I"At the end of the Month of Weaving, bread, a bag of dried fruit, and numerous candles were stolen from the temple.
Though the value of the items may be trivial, sacrilege and disorder both merit severe punishment.
The suspect is gray-haired, cat-eared, slight build. Considered agile and cunning. Exercise caution.
A bounty is set: 5,000 for leads. 10,000 if captured alive."

—A wanted poster in Dolos

"Catch her, catch her!"
The square was lined with cells, reeking of raw sewage and echoing with whips and wails.
A girl in tattered rags sprinted through the crowded streets, trailing golden blood in her wake.

She raced past the platform, where a potbellied priest was delivering a sermon to the city's gathered faithful.
"By Kephale's grace, let us praise and give thanks for this beautiful world..."

"Integrity, honesty, mercy..."
"—Let us water our souls with virtue, and use love to temper tragedy..."

Just as the girl glanced back, the snarling hounds pursuing her lunged, carving three fresh gashes on her face.

"Treasure and wealth mean naught to Titans, yet they prove your devotion..."
Amid cheers, silks, delicacies, and jewels rained onto the platform, forming a small mountain.

"Shun the Chrysos Heirs' raving lies. Have faith in Kephale. So long as we pray earnestly, the god shall deliver salvation..."
She pushed her way through the crowd, losing the bread in her hand somewhere along the way.
Desperately, she looked around, only to find condescending faces staring down at her, surging toward her like a restless tide.

Her knees went weak as mocking glances and threatening smiles blurred before her eyes.
But the distant voices had already burrowed into her ears, and she couldn't stop.
"Thief!"
"Criminal!"
"Wretch!"

Closing her eyes, she plunged from that three-hundred-meter-high wall.
"So... hungry..."
Icy waters swallowed her consciousness.
And so, she claimed her first pyrrhic victory in a race with her life on the line.

Character Story: Part IIExiled to the holy city of dawn, she witnessed how the legends of the Chrysos Heirs surged through the streets. Yet when she saw its squalid alleys and filthy, cramped corners, she found the place no different from Dolos.

"Hmph! What Flame-Chase? What heroes? If my experience isn't wrong, I smell shady schemes afoot!"
Deeming the Chrysos Heirs glory-hungry frauds, she targeted a certain golden weaving workshop.
"Honey brew? A chessboard... and a weird lyre? These have got to be stolen..."
She guzzled the honey brew, devoured the dolmadakia, and toyed with the crystal chess pieces.
"Heh, even the floor's spinning..."

When she awoke from her drunken stupor, she found a perfumed letter in her hand.
Hair standing on end, she threw off the blanket and fled to her shadowy den.

"Little Glutton:
Did you enjoy your fun? You treated the weaving hall like your personal playground.
You tasted the honey brew, but couldn't handle it. The chessboard's a complete mess, and you didn't even spare the old lyre.

But remember this: Always drink honey brew to the last drop, and no situation in this world is beyond salvation.
I know you possess great skill, so fix the lyre you damaged. You're lucky a certain knight commander wasn't there, or she surely would've pinned your tail to the floor with her sword."

Clutching the confidential letter, the girl felt a vague, indescribable emotion rising within her for the first time.
"Big city folks... they sure got a lot of tricks, huh?"

The stray cat waited day after day for a harsh reckoning, yet she wasn't held to account.
So, she would whistle, tossing a coin in the air, and time and time again "accidentally" stop in front of the weaving workshop.
"Ciphy, if there's anything you want to eat, just tell us!" The red-haired girls would always have a heap of food at the ready.
While following the weaver at work, she often heard the stories of those heroes.

"For those with golden blood, losses are a constant on the Flame-Chase journey... and even life itself holds little value."
The weavers spoke of the violin's final wail, the chess pieces that fell in a doomed game, the shattered pathways splitting into a thousand fragments...
"...And what's that have to do with me? I just want a full belly."
She muttered, curling her fingers. A tiny bead of golden blood welled up from her pricked fingertip.

That night, she silently slipped out of the weaving shop once again.
"It's okay. Run, Cifera.
Only you know where your path ends..."

Under the moonlight, her figure vanished from sight, leaving nothing in the room but the weaver's murmured words.

Character Story: Part III"Zagreus, god of trickery of old:

Stealing treasures, sowing discord among the gods, stirring up conflict...
Your stale ploys weary us.
This next Spirit Day, the 300 Rogues will stage their most spectacular performance in Amphoreus yet.

The world will be ours, craven god!
Watch us turn it upside down!"

A proclamation adorned with a cat's paw prints, scattered across the city-states of Amphoreus.

"North from Okhema, across the snow-covered mountains, lies Aenionus.
There, I secretly changed two characters on the Granite Code, winning a rogue's indenture in a trial of life and death.
In bays of the south, I snuck aboard a moored ship and dueled a rogue in the middle of a storm, and I hate water most of all!
Then guess what? In a stroke of genius, I whipped out my Pulleroo and took his sword away!
And there's more — under the blazing desert sun, I competed with outlaws to see who could last the longest without water, and in the dense jungle, I raced against hunters... until all 300 Rogues were in place..."

The girl in golden boots spoke animatedly about her journey.
"Next, it's time for every tyrant, parasite, and slaver in all of Amphoreus to witness the power of the so-called wretches they despise!"

She recalled how the moment the Coin of Whimsy fell, three hundred Thief Stars streaked across the sky, descending upon the lands of Amphoreus.
Lofty tyrants tumbled from their thrones, whip-wielding slavers fled in disgrace, torrents of gold vanished into thin air, only to rain down from the heavens upon the starving and the shivering...

During that grand spectacle, Zagreus could not resist the temptation and revealed themselves, falling right into the Chrysos Heirs' ambush.
The blazing Coreflame, at last, fell silent within the vortex's core.
In the city of Okhema, whispers began to spread of a demigod swift as a shadow, a guardian of vagrants, a scourge to the wicked —

"All I can do, is run!"

Character Story: Part IV"To all priests, high priests, and acolytes of the city-states, to the faithful beneath the radiance of the Throne of Worlds, and to all sentient beings:

Since the passing of our High Priest, the Gem of All Worlds has gone missing.
Upon investigation, no signs of forced entry or damage were found at the scene. After its theft, multiple reports claim to have seen the gem enter the black market, where it was exchanged for a vast sum of Balance Coins.
Anyone providing useful information will receive a reward of 5,000 Balance Coins. The one who captures the culprit will receive a reward of 100,000 Balance Coins."

— A faded, yellowing proclamation from the Council of Elders.
"Wow, all this time, and this thing's still up...?"

She remembered the day the bounty was posted, the moment she had no choice but to say goodbye.
She couldn't meet the weaver's eyes and could only turn away, hastily turning tail and fleeing Okhema.

Centuries later, new heroes flocked here from across Amphoreus. Her hood drawn low, she gazed at the old marketplace from afar, but few familiar faces remained.
"A new flavor of pickled candies?"
Crumpling the wrapper, she casually flicked it toward the flowerbed.
"Glass marbles! Haven't played with these in ages!"
She weighed one in her hand, aiming as she mimed tossing it into the water.
...
Moments later, figures dressed as assassins tumbled down one after another from the flowerbed, the water, the trees—
And yet farther ahead, the young hero stood bathed in light, returning in triumph.

She watched from the shadows until the golden thread beside her trembled.
"Seamstress, all these years, and your golden threads are sharp as ever. If I don't wanna get caught, I'd better get going!"

She stretched lazily, crouching slightly as the wind swept past, heavy with the scent of the wilds.

Once more, a golden streak of lightning tore from Okhema toward the eternal night.
In the howling wind, she felt as if she had returned to her childhood, to those countless races where her life itself was on the line.
"Run, Cifera...
Only you know where your path ends...
And one day, you'll be able to sprint into that splendid future..."

In the instant the lightning split the night, it was as if she had already illuminated the entire world.

    2. what relic sets (both 4pcs and 2pcs) would she be best using if we’re going with acheron team? idk if ill be able to go for s1 so i need sets for both possibilities (s0 and s1)

    • If you want Cipher for your Acheron team. You must get her S1, otherwise she won’t apply debuff with her basic attack, ult, and FuA, which slows down Acheron Ult stacks. IMO, currently Cipher (S1) is better than Silver Wolf for Acheron as Cipher can apply debuff to multiple enemies, but this could be changed after Silver Wolf gets her buff.

      • Neither does Pela apply debuff with every attack: at E0 she can only debuff with her ult, and at E4 her skill also gets a debuff. If Pela is generating stacks for Acheron, a good portion of it is probably from the Resolution lightcone, which Cipher can use to similar if not higher efficiency due to her higher speed and blast skill.

  4. We can learn from Cipher’s Beta roller coaster ride.
    Especially the ending.
Her V4 Buffed her a lot and then her V5 Nerfed her so hard it is ridiculus!
    So HoYo doesn’t care.
    First Catgirl!
Could have made so much money if she is OP.

If HoYo does this to a Female character, a sexy catgirl nontheless that could have made them so much more money, then clearly no character is safe from HoYo’s Nerf Hammer during Beta Phases!

You do realise even someone like Bronya, by virtue of doubling your actions (100% AV) theoretically doubles your output. Now in practice ultimates do exist, damage windows, but Bronya does more than churn out turns as well

Now I wouldn’t call Bronya a particularly high amp support and even she has amp by your quote higher than Cipher. How does that compare to the likes of Robbin, Tribbie and soonish Cyrene & Cerydra

    • base 106 + traces 14 + boots 25 = 145; She needs 25 more speed for 170+ which is 10-13 substat rolls.

Fairly doable, 2 or 3 rolls per non-boots piece. 2pc speed bonuses will knock off 2 rolls. If you decide to go for 2pc bonuses, do cavern relic sets, since the planar speed options are worth as much as the cavern sets, plus wasted effects.

If you choose to do only speed substats (do this if sig LC), you’ll probably want Pioneer Diver, maybe Genius if Cipher is the carry or ran with Pela/SW

For planars, your pick of Glamoth, Duran, or Izumo. PCCE won’t be worth it at 39% ehr

    • Basically, you will want her to reach 170 SPD.
she has 120 SPD by default with her traces, her LC will be a great help as it gives 18% of SPD to wearer.
So if you plan on getting it you just need to reach 145 SPD, the LC will add up the SPD to 170.

For 4-PC I am hesitating between “Scholar Lost in Erudition”, “The Wind-Soaring Valorous” or “Genius of Brilliant Stars”. But I might take the last one considering she can only launch her follow up once per turn. Plus with all DEF debuffs + Damage increases she would seem to launch heavy attacks with it.
For 2-PC I’m going with “Inert Salsotto” which will buff both ult and follow-up. “Duran, Dynasty of Running Wolves” seems to be good too as it gives a higher buff for the follow up and also extra CRIT DMG but again she only launch the follow up once per turn so the stack would be long to take.
Though with how speedy she is she could reach it fast :/ We’ll see.

Feet’s main stat will definitely be SPD.
For Body I would recommend CRIT DMG, considering her first Trace gives her 50% Crit Chance if she does reach 170 SPD.
As for Planar Sphere and Rope I personally will go Quantum DMG and ATK%.

As for the substats, I will go with SPD, CRIT DMG, ATK% and CC. EHR could be helpful but 120 (+10 from traces) default EHR seems enough to me. I’ll see when I can grabby hands her when she is out. Might replace some CC with EHR if it is the case.

Then again that is my build, it may be not perfect in the end, you’re free to do the one that suits you better and compare. We’re here to discuss !

      • For relic sets, I think there are some more options you aren’t considering.

Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters 4-pc gives unconditional damage% and crit rate+damage, plus more crit stats if you apply a debuff, which is easy if you use skill or have her signature. It’s almost certainly worse than Genius if you are facing quantum-weak enemies, but can be more consistent otherwise.
Similarly, I would say Duran seems quite good for her, but for likely less damage you can pick up Glamoth, which has a speed requirement she easily activates. It has no ramp-up time for its damage bonus. However, if you use Cipher with another follow-up unit (Aventurine/Feixiao/Ratio/Topaz etc.) then the Duran ramp-up time is probably not as bad as you are thinking.

The Scholar and Valorous sets seem to focus on her ultimate damage, which to me seems to be a pretty small amount of her total damage. Its multiplier is 120% to the main target, then 40% to the main target and adjacent targets, so at most a 240% multiplier. Her skill does more damage than her ultimate, so Scholar does at least seem like a decent choice, but I’m unsure about how frequently she ults, so I’m not sure how much value you get out of it. I’m estimating about every 4 turns? The Scholar/Sacerdos cavern is also very good, so its not too much of an opportunity cost to farm, especially compared to the Genius set.

I agree with your stat choices though. You probably don’t want too much Effect Hit Rate, but I would venture to guess that a few rolls would be nice to have for her light cones.

  5. So let me get this straight. At E2S1, she inflicts 70% vulnerability (40% from talent and 30% from E2) and 24% defense shred. That is a direct +95% damage increase from the whole team (even more if there are other def shredders in the team). On top of that, she inflicts 24% minimum of true damage, which makes another 24% damage increase from the whole team through her Ult. That is a total of 119% of damage increase.

No other support unit is capable of multiplying your team’s damage as much as her. Usually harmony supports such as Sunday, Ruan Mei etc, are usually proving capable of increasing between 50% to 70%.

    • It would make them better at it depending on who, but most of them wouldn’t perform well enough to justify them being picked over the staples we already have. If you’re interested,.i can go more in depth, but it might be a bit of a read lol.

    • i feel bad instead: She give free “increase damage” at a6 instead of def reduction, She erode totally JQ niche and also she can no longer use 4* Silver Wolf Cone and 5* welt cone

      • Not necessarily. i get your sentiment, but Jiaoqiu’s niche is more so his ability to funnel Acheron Stacks. He still does that WAY better than her, especially with good spd and eagle set, on top of ult vulnerability and regular. Vulnerability is also better than def shred generally, and she can use Resolution to still get some of that def shred at %16. Welt’s light cone also can still be used lol nothing changed with that. Also i’m speculating but since she is really the only nihility character that actually interacts with
the spd stat directly, we may get another
4* option for her, like for Rappa and Boothill.

  7. is she good enough to replace pela on my acheron team? my acheron team consists of sw, pela, and gallagher. i mean, im pulling her regardless bc she’s pretty and cool, but if she’s versatile then why not?

also what about the remembrance teams like castorice and aglaea? both of them are sharing rmc and i’d love to find a replacement other than the bird siblings

    • You should replace SilverWolf, not Pela. And with Silverwolf getting buffed literally next patrch, I can’t even say she’ll be an improvement.

Current Cipher isn’t that good, she’s going to be weaker than RMC in any of the teams you mentioned.

    • Ignore the other person, Cipher is absolutely better than Pela for Acheron. SW, even with the buffs, will not have the insane Acheron stack generation that Cipher provides.
