| Character Details | The Northern Empire, a lost dynasty, where its frozen lands burn with the fever of conquest. Amphoreus's journey is set to blaze across the stars!" |
| Character Story: Part I | Hyperborea, the Northern Empire. A frigid realm where ambition burns without end. Since the childless sovereign fell, the throne sits vacant while the empire tears itself apart in endless civil strife. Refugees who lost their homes resort to begging to survive. A wounded girl with unusual blue hair stands out starkly against the pristine snow. "Only the royal family blessed by Talanton possesses such flame-like blue hair, and only the chosen ones have golden blood flowing through their veins..." An ambitious aristocrat takes in the beggar girl simply from just a passing glance, and begins spreading rumors of a lost princess. They lead her onto a magnificent high stage where the aristocrat raises her arm high. From her pricked fingertip drips blood as golden as dawn itself. The crowd below grows wild with excitement, and that heated anticipation seemingly sets her ablaze as well. "From this day forward, you are Princess 'Cerydra'." The aristocrat leads her into the palace, where she's dressed in ornate, heavy garments. "Cery...dra?" A single moment of hesitation earns her a slap so sharp it nearly brings tears to her eyes. "I am... I am... Cery...dra..." "I am Cerydra." "I am her." She controls her trembling as distant screams fade away. — Those were the screams of the previous princess. She studies royal etiquette daily until the tight corset no longer causes pain, until she can confidently deliver speeches... "As the princess is still young, I shall serve as regent and oversee the Hyperborean Empire's affairs." The aristocrat gathers support in her name while seizing royal authority. "She's merely a pawn we can discard, but she plays her role well enough to keep around." In the shadows, the new regent exchanges knowing smirks with the chancellor. Endless days in captivity blur together as the young "princess" reluctantly abandons the distant shimmer of stars to focus on her chessboard. This is the game for her self-preservation. "Proud princess. Those eyes of yours, always watching, always hiding... They are like..." "Like what?" With barely any effort, she will soon reach the border of the chessboard. "Like a flame soon to ignite..." With a bittersweet smile, her teacher places down the final chess piece. After thousands of matches, there's no longer a chess strategy the princess has not mastered. * Unlocked at Character Level |
| Character Story: Part II | The imperial maids and guards have no power or status, yet they become the ever-present eyes throughout the shifting court. She wins them with favors, gathers intelligence, and weaves a complex web of strategies. Old aristocrats who despise the new king secretly plot rebellion, placing assassins among the royal guards. She plays the willing conspirator while secretly positioning her "knights" who will do the dirty work. The empire's citizens revere her fabricated bloodline, so she extends charity to the elderly and supports the vulnerable. Her rising reputation wins them over, making them into "rooks" who will dominate the board. "Meet me in my tent at the third quint of Curtain-Fall Hour. Urgent matters to discuss in private, Your loyal chancellor." As the sealed note finds its way to her, she knows her essential "bishop" has entered play, with each courtier now conspiring in pursuit of their covert desire for military expansion. Candlelight dances across the tent, casting shadows of deceit. The chancellor wears a smile as hollow as a faded portrait. "The northern territories share nothing with the south's gentle warmth." He points to the map sprawled before them, "Lingering here will be Hyperborea's undoing. I've secured the continent's most formidable mercenaries. The regent requests that you personally lead the campaign..." She knows they see her as expendable, ready to blame her for any failure that might occur. But she's waited far too long. Without a daring gamble, how could she ever hope to turn the tables? Crossing the mountains of Epos, she seizes the opportunity when Loukas rises in rebellion. She crushes their forces while recruiting the Chrysos General Fortunado to her side, winning the army's loyalty. City after city falls as Hyperborean armies advance like an unstoppable blaze. The blue-haired girl raises her banner, sending thundering hooves toward her chosen targets. She watches her army build up, knowing her final "pawns" are positioned for checkmate. On that dark, snowy night, the triumphant princess rides a silver-white steed, leading her forces through the capital gates to proclaim new edicts... "From this day forward, I shall bring justice to Hyperborea!" They drag the regent "king" who wears the false crown from his chambers, while his loyalists who refuse to bend find only soldiers' steel awaiting them. "She... she is not Cerydra!" From her throne of judgment, she draws her blade across her palm and golden blood trickles down as the crowd mocks him, drowning the "king" in despair. "This regent 'king' has governed with depravity, plunging the empire into chaos. By the authority of the Law, I hereby sentence you..." In the bitter northern winds, her blue hair dances wildly, blazing like fire against the pale sky. "Death by fire!" Amid the flames, she places the imperial crown upon her head, her only trophy of war. A flicker of cobalt fire awakens atop the crown, never to be quenched again. * Unlocked at Character Level |
| Character Story: Part III | The tripartite prophecy spreads from Janusopolis to the city-states in endless strife throughout the land. "Saving the world... has never been of a chessmaster's interest." She ponders the prophecy, envisioning a fiery future unfolding before her. "But to challenge gods who see themselves as rulers, and even venture beyond the sky... now that's a game worth playing!" Through the endless night, she draws golden-blooded children of humanity like a brilliant flame: In Okhema's Council, Chrysos Heirs and common folk alike share the right to debate and vote. Magnificent libraries rise from the ground, granting all access to knowledge of the Flame-Chase mission. As ancient military orders crumble into dust, a gladius of the deep is drawn to shore, following the perfume of blood and fire to serve as her blades. In the political waters of the holy city, the Goldweaver of Okhema rises on the horizon, and the trembles of golden threads entangle the people's fates. ... Yet her chessboard is etched in golden blood, and she plays against gods themselves. Though she trades burning pain for her crown and suffers eternal infancy for the future, the scales of victory have never truly tipped in humanity's favor. "Losses are a constant on the Flame-Chase journey..." "Only through a worthy sacrifice can we gain a befitting victory. But to topple gods, this is far from enough..." Day and night she studies the board, concealing her anxieties from any watchful eyes. "If you're the chess master, then that makes us the pawns, right?" Without waiting for an answer, the girl who wields a sword like a musical instrument wipes blood from her hands and nods. "I understand now." Only in moments like these would the proud empress fall uncharacteristically silent. "If only..." A trace of bitterness flickers across her face. "No, there are no 'if onlys' anymore." Before the battle to claim the Ocean's Coreflame, she stands once more upon the platform, looking down at five hundred subjects who hold their breath, awaiting her decree. "My warriors..." As her voice resounds, cheers erupt throughout the crowd. "Today, the 'Ocean' shall surrender to us, and the beast of 'Destruction' will become our unstoppable weapon. Now, raise your cups! To our conquest of the sea of stars!" She knows that only a crimson sea of no return awaits ahead, but she must wear the mask of the unflinching ruler. In that moment, the wisdom of her teacher whispers to her again... "Chess is the art of sacrifice." "Your hands must accept death before touching the board." * Unlocked at Character Level |
| Character Story: Part IV | "Drip." A drop of blood falls into water, sending golden ripples across the surface. "Dux Gladiorum, have you thought about where our paths might lead after this battle ends?" The sword-wielding girl stands in thoughtful silence before shaking her head. "After the rebellion settles, we'll head for the stars. You'll find your crystal-clear ocean out there, I promise." With a faint smile, she lifts her scepter skyward. "The gods have pitted us against each other, letting Amphoreus end its own life in the cosmos. So I'll turn my blade on them, on every god, whether in our world or beyond." "Drip." A drop of blood falls into water, sending golden ripples across the surface. "Dux Gladiorum, what if someday I command you to turn your blade against me?" The girl remains silent, assuming it's just another of her cruel jokes. "I'd want your sharpest edge. Anything less would dishonor those who sacrificed themselves for my cause." She tosses the chess piece that represented herself off the board. "See? To lose is to gain. New paths have emerged." "Drip." A drop of blood falls into water, sending golden ripples across the surface. "Dux Gladiorum, who do you think can take up the heavy burden of the Flame-Chase journey once we're gone?" In perfect unison, their gaze falls upon the distant "Goldweaver." "That little golden trout will one day become the most magnificent fish in this pond." "Drip." A drop of blood falls into water, sending golden ripples across the surface. "Many speculate about what I traded with Talanton. Was it the power of endless victory, or the authority of law... Heh. I've never needed any divine help for those..." The silhouette of her past companion faded away. She felt the cold creeping in, the sky pitch black like a starless cave. Long ago, she had also witnessed, in bone-chilling cold, a child with golden blood being taken away. "But in this world that devours people, having golden blood... is the only chance to overthrow everything. Even if... I must live like this for the rest of my life..." The blue-haired girl closes her eyes. "But I've only wished for one thing... since the beginning..." From a beggar child nearly frozen to death in the wilds, to a princess who was no better than a puppet, then to a commander who challenged gods... She personally elevated herself from pawn to player, only to sacrifice herself when the endgame demanded it... "I wish to conquer the tyrannical fate of this world!" * Unlocked at Character Level |

I don’t get why people treat her as “underwhelming support” and want more buffs in her kit. She is clearly designed similar to Jade but with ultimate dmg instead of follow up. She already has insane atk/crit stats, they will probably give her better dmg multiplier on ult or better energy economy.
I’m assuming you meant skill instead of ultimate damage.
The main issue is that she’s designed to be a dedicated skill buffer, and only for ATK scalers. So pretty much Sparkle 2.0 for guys like Phainon, but even less useful as a general support – on 13 damage dealers, she’s either next to useless (Yunli – stats are nice, but extra skills are very unimportant), they’d love but don’t scale on ATK (Mydei), or literally completely useless (Blade).
The other issue is that there are plenty who would like her kit, and could make use of a doubled skill usage:
>Sushang
>Hook
>Dan Heng
>Seele
>Yanqing
I think you see the problem here.
Nah, I meant her personal ultimate damage. It’s just so sad to see those 4000+atk/360cdmg/100crate being completely wasted. Even in showcases with Anaxa&Tribbie her personal damage is negligible in 3 target scenarios (and without aoe buffer it’s just nonexistent).
And since they doubled down on her being niche support in v3 my expectation are quite low now.
at E0 her personal damage is just a bonus tho pretty much like every other support except Robin in Feixiao and Aglaea team, her main selling point is Phainon support.
ʜᴇʟʟᴏ(•̀’◡’•̀)ノ
My name is Checky, and starting today, I will be writing my personal headcanons on Cerydra on a day to day basis leading up to her eventual release.(hope she comes home)
Day #1
She looks like the type of person cannot physically open a bottle of champagne in the normal fashion. It must be preceded by a speech and sabered dramatically, even if it’s a picnic or a Tuesday breakfast.
Day #2
Cerydra has a habit of keeping a small, intricately carved kinh on her person as a good luck charm.
Day #3
Cerydra’s favorite opening in chess is the Open Sicilian.
Day #4
Cerydra keeps track on the amount of licks it takes to reach the center of a Tootsie Pop.
Day 5#
Cerydra can’t swim.
Day #6
Cerydra keeps a personal journal where she writes letters to her future self.
Day #7
Somebody has tried roasting a marshmallow using the flame from Cerydra’s crown. She wasn’t amused.
Day #8
Cerydra can’t sit in a chair properly. She always pulls some posture that makes people go “That cannot be how you normally sit on chairs. “.
Day #9
Cerydra swings her arms alot whenever she walks.
Day #10
Cerydra likes board games, but she struggles to find anyone else wants to play with them.
Day #11
Cerydra doesn’t snore when she sleeps. In fact, she doesn’t make any noise when she sleeps. It’s almost like she ‘sleeps like the dead’.
Day #12
Cerydra is a very sentimental person. She’ll never admit to it tho •́︿•̀
Day #13
Cerydra mentally assigns each person she meets a corresponding chess piece. E.g: Tribbie would be a Bishop, Hysilens would be a Knight/Queen (still on the fence about this), etc.
Guess what? WE DON’T CARE!!!
Pls keep the gooning to yourself
There’s no need to blabber it on internet
bro hates fun smh
I really wanted to get her but I just don’t know what I would do with her if I ended up pulling for her. My Phainon and Anaxa teams are already clearing within the minimum cycles so I feel like she wouldn’t add much to my teams. It’s a shame because I really do like her character design. Maybe I’ll get her on a rerun? For now I’m saving for evil march 7th and preservation dan heng (assuming he’s not free).
Day #14
Cerydra would for sure form a chess club in Amphoreus were it not for her crippling responsibilities.
Day #15
Cerydra has trouble picking up on sarcasm.
Day #16
Cerydra has no difficulty pronouncing words such as ‘floccinaucinihilipilification’ and ‘Worcestershire’. She’s just very eloquent and articulate.
Day #17
Cerydra is proficient with a dueling saber.
Day #18
Cerydra would 100% honor a pinky swear.
Day #19
Should Cerydra be reverse isekai’d to our world, she would NOT be able to pass the bar exam.
Day #20
If presented with the classic trolley problem. Cerydra would choose to pull the lever.
Day #21
Cerydra WILL survive the 3.5 story quest.
Ya know in hindsight I should not have started this so early. I do not have enough material to last for 4 more weeks of this.
ANYWAYS
Day #22
Cerydra is incredibly punctual. She has never missed a deadline in her life.
Day #23
Cerydra started playing chess since she was around 4 years old.
Day #24
Cerydra owns multiple different chess sets, like a ludicrous amount even for a collector. Some are carved from marble, some are made of colored glass, etc.
Day #25
Cerydra is a Night Owl.
Day #26
Cerydra doesn’t celebrate her own birthday unless prompted to by the people close to her.
Day #27
Cerydra is a sad drunk.
Day #28
Cerydra sucks at rock paper scissors.
Day #29
Cerydra is impartial to cheese.
Day #30
Cerydra has excellent memory. Not quite eidetic memory however, but still excellent nonetheless.
Day #31
She came, she saw, she conquered. ᜊ꒦ິ^꒦ິᜊ
Day #32
Cerydra actively avoids using emoticons while texting.
Day #33
Cerydra has an incredibly high opinion of herself. Her self esteem is so high it’s border line narcissism.
Day #34
Cerydra has delivered checkmate using En Passant. She’s incredibly proud of the fact and brings it up every now and again.
Day #34
I’m 70% sure Cerydra is a theatre kid.
Day #36
Cerydra secretly wished she was endowed with a marginally greater vertical placement in her stature. (She want tall)
Day #40
Cerydra has an Elo rating of 3882. Her favorite and most used opening in chess is the Barnes Opening.
Kit feels way too lackluster atp. Her kit relies on the DPS getting action advanced to max her charges quickly.
If she’s to be BiS for Phainon, then buffing even more atk/crit is not the way to go – he’s got a bunch of self buffs for that and Sunday, Bronya/Sparkle, Tingyun/Huohuo provide even more. It’s saturated compared to dmg%, def ignore, vulnerability, res pen. Ruan Mei does a bunch of those things and I even got better results doing so but she doesn’t give enough coreflames compared to the others in the long run.
Her personal damage is not important in a Phainon team and unless that speed buff is a base speed increase, it just messes our current speed tuning a bit.
Phainon’s always going to be oversaturated since he wants to be directly buffed, and buffs aren’t a good source of debuffs.
We already had previous cases of such (debuff like) buffs – def ignore on Sunday/Ruan Mei E1, vulnerability on Tribbie which they can reword it as a buff that triggers his coreflames count and even True DMG is better. They did add a 10% RES PEN now which buffs as much as that 72 cdmg on a Phainon team.
I missed reading the skill copy mechanic when I made the original post, and that will ultimately determine whether to pull or not. The raw stats buffs are still mid.
her lightcone passive is gonna get changed, right? Compared to Sunday and Bronya’s sigs, giving a full skill point when ulting on a support seems like… a lot. they’ve set a precedent of needing to manage sps w/ supports, so giving Cerydra a free skill point each ult seems wild
Not really? The only harmony’s that need to manage SP are Bronya… and like Yukong. Everyone else is either neutral or positive in a meaningful manner.
Bronya LC gives 1 SP every 2 ults, Sunday’s every 2 instances of ult or skill.
Do u know what Sunday’s LC does? It gives SP – and a lot at that. It makes Sunday go from an SP Neutral character (once his ult is in use) to an SP positive character (with his ult in use; and an SP neutral without ult)
It also gives energy to himself and dmg bonus to the ally target of his skill and/or ult.
If anything, Cerydra’s LC is underpowered compared to Sunday’s if considering universal usage.
Tingyun gets a BiS (i think) LC, being Cerydra’s LC. Tingyun is the only character aside from Cerydra herself that can make full use of Cerydra’s LC. Robin can use the attack buff, but thats it. She would perfer her own LC over Cerydra’s.
If not for the fact that I have an insanely cracked ATK body on Musketeer, I would be using Eagle.

Y is this a reply to a comment? I swear i put it as a regular comment lol
Her kit looks pretty unengaging?
It feels like she’s missing an effect or two – either some way to deterministically activate the double skill without wasting energy (imagine Phainon double skill going off at 11 coreflames before ult), or some reason to press skill more than once besides a marginal amount of SPD, or maybe an enhanced basic or something.
Kinda feels like Fugue minus the enhanced basic, but you don’t even have to skill past the first time.
Has anyone done the math on how much she improves Phainon’s dmg per ult rotation? 30%? 40%? 50% more dmg?
As far as I have seen, 2% compared to Robin. I’m not sure about Tribbie and Ruan Mei though.
that’s bs, she literally give better buff than Robin while letting E0 Phainon cast his meteor 2 times more which is massive upgrade lol unless you think so because of the beta showcase full of skill issues
Half of her kit is useless. They’re scared shitless at the idea of giving good amp on a character that literally can duplicate an ability.
Explain how “Half of her kit is useless.”
OP was probably referring to how she provides so much self buffs instead of focusing on buffing the hypercarry like Sunday does. ATP the only buff she gives is the skill crit dmg ONLY on the duplicated skill cast outside of the SPD buff.
she also gives about 1k attack (24% of her own when she’s aiming for 4k). which… still isn’t enough, but it’s there.
>A kit that enables a unique interaction (doubling skills), but weaker buffs
>A kit that doesn’t do anything too special, but has stronger generic buffs (think Tribbie)
>Power creep
Pick one (1).
half of her kit is useless. They’re scared to make her too good
So if her skill only affects Skill DMG, would an E6 Acheron not benefit from it at all? Does Acheron’s E6 make her basic/skill count as only ultimate dmg or both basic/skill AND ultimate dmg?
Either way she looks really cool, I’m gonna keep an eye out here to see if she changes before release.
They count as both their original DMG and as Ult DMG. Even then, I don’t Cerydra is gonna do anything much for an E6 Acheron.
say what if someone like jingliu were to use their enhanced skill and run out of synergy stacks would the enhanced skill be used or not?
in another scenario like archer is there a chance of triggering multiple skill usage since they occur in the same turn? or will he just generate more charges for mm
in a hypothetical scenario (like future character) what about skills that can only be used under very specific conditions or if there are cases that disable the said said will it be replicated anyway
on a side note:
1. I use a team of castorice, RMC, bronya and luocha
2. for phainon I have sunday
3. i have ruan mei, aven, lingsha and all 4 star character
4. i have like 40 pulls saved up and really do not want to skip saber
5. any team recommendation around phainon and adjustments to team castorice
6. should I pull for cerydra or will there be any other alternative to her considering I want to save for saber, like cerene or other characters
That depends on whether it’s the whole skill, effects and all, copied, or simply doubling the attack part.
For example, Jingliu’s enhanced skill does:
– damage
– drains HP from teammates
– consumes 1 syzygy stack
If it’s just the damage copied, Jingliu and etc. (Herta specially!) will enjoy the double skill without worry, while someone like Archer who buffs himself on skill use will “lose” a stack. Someone like Hysilens, who gains advantage not on skill use but through passives, will not be affected by the exact way double skill works.
There’s nothing on Cery’s side banning multiple Coup de Main triggers in one turn, but currently even Archer can’t do it since he is only allowed 5 skills per turn – lets say the first skill triggers CoM, even with Cery using her ult mid-turn you can only obtain 6 charge after Archer’s last skill.
