Character Details | A Memokeeper of the Garden of Recollection. A mysterious and elegant soothsayer. She often wears a warm smile and is willing to patiently listen to the words of others, thus using such means as a pretext to enter "memories" and gain omniscience over certain matters. A lady passionate about collecting unique memories, yet the thoughts that guide her are hard to glean. |
Character Story: Part I | "She's quite an unusual kid, and I could sense it from the day she was born. It felt like nature itself was celebrating her arrival: The birds chirped, the moon and sun were together in the sky. The cards in my hand seemed to hint at the emergence of a soul steeped in nostalgia. Right from her early years, she had a fascination with stories from the past. She would delve deep into contemplating our origins, our creators, and even the very beginning of the world. Her questions would leave even the most erudite scholars scratching their heads. Sure, some other kids might poke fun at her for asking such deep questions, but aren't those questions important? Life is akin to a winding labyrinth, where memories serve as our sole companions." Afflicted with amnesia, her mother struggled with forgetfulness, making it difficult for her to recognize her family or recall recent events. Clutching the diagnosis of amnesia, she held her mother tightly, attempting to read aloud from the latter's diary. Her mother was physically present, but where was she in the realm of consciousness? She stayed by her mother's side until the end of her life, realizing that her mother had been fading away as her memories became fragmented. If her own memories of her mother were to ever become blurred as well, her mother would completely slip away from her. "Life is akin to a winding labyrinth, where memories serve as our sole companions." For the first time, she comprehended the profound meaning behind these words. * Unlocked at Character Level |
Character Story: Part II | "I arrived on this planet as an explorer. My usual tasks involved observing the flow of rivers, examining the materials of the city's bricks and tiles, analyzing the steepness of roads, and documenting the number and distribution of chimneys... These duties aligned with people's imagination of preserving a planet's 'memories.'" — However, such efforts were far from sufficient. Once I started working in secrecy, I would often come across that girl. Sometimes, sunlight would dance through the leaves as she walked beneath them, disappearing around corners once the street lamps illuminated the surroundings. On other occasions, her gaze would follow a carrier pigeon, which left the High Priest's quarters every Wednesday night, only to return the following morning to the palace's chief of the guards — a known political adversary of the High Priest. Occasionally, she would quietly observe rain trickling into sewers scarred by artillery fired from the opposite shore. And sometimes, waves would dampen her skirts, while an elderly woman washing clothes by the river recounted the story of the previous sovereign and his five illegitimate children. — Few individuals, apart from us, understand that a planet conceals and safeguards its "memories" in such a manner. I trailed behind her until we reached a rock on the moor. I knew that it was the time to invite her. "What do you see?" I asked, in a form visible to her. She pointed at a patch of weeds and the lingering traces. "I see a stone, perhaps once part of a fireplace... But it must hold more significance." I nodded and assisted her in removing the weeds and dirt from the crevices of the stone. "It was once a monument," she murmured, gently caressing the engravings adorning its surface. "Indeed, but the 'memory' holds more significance." Thus, I revealed to her that the stone on the moor had once served as a fireplace, a monument before that, a flowerbed, and even an altar... And before all that, it had simply been a stone on the moor. "What price would I pay if I want to witness those 'memories'?" "People will remain oblivious to your presence unless you are willing to reveal yourself." "Just as people fail to acknowledge the existence of black swans until they encounter one?" "Yes, just like that." Memokeepers travel to numerous planets, collecting the memories of each city they encounter. They are careful not to leave any trace of their presence, ensuring that nobody remembers them, unless they come across someone with the potential to become a Memokeeper, whom they then take away from the city into the vast expanse of the stars. * Unlocked at Character Level |
Character Story: Part III | Many individuals obsess over the glory of the past and aspire to become Memokeepers, longing to live within their memories. Such individuals often degenerate into unbridled Cremators, distorting memories to suit their preferences. However, she is different... I've sensed her unwavering determination and profound respect for memories themselves. Following tradition, I asked her three questions before making her a Memokeeper. "Will you dedicate your whole life to the collection of memories?" "I will." "Will you relinquish your physical form and embrace the transformation of self?" "I will." "If one day you cease to exist, what legacy will you leave behind for the world?" "My memories. They hold seeds from the past, destined for rebirth into the future." Memories come in various forms. Some are trivial and heartwarming, while others are grand and expansive. Some are gentle and meek, while others are wild and untamed... When she became a Memokeeper, her memories became tranquil and serene, like the calm waves that finally found their destined harbor. "What comes to your mind?" The Memokeeper asked. As she opened her eyes, fragments of memories swirled around her. "People tend to believe they are facing the present and the future, yet fail to realize that we are all, in fact, moving toward the past." * Unlocked at Character Level |
Character Story: Part IV | Location: Penacony Date: ██/██/██ Guests: ██, ██, ██, and ██ "A sorrowful memory from ██. This opulent memory, adorned with ostentation and longing, conceals an unknown sadness that will linger for years, influencing its owner for an extended period." "A joyous memory from ██. This dramatic memory is filled with vibrant hues of joy, confusion, and humor, but it can hardly be called true happiness. Such is the future it portrays." "A regrettable memory from ██. The fleeting happiness in this memory is beautiful yet short-lived, like a shooting spark from faded ashes. Cherish your limited moment, dear guest, for it informs me that it shall soon vanish." "A vague memory from ██. This memory is faint, chaotic, and disorienting, akin to an endless downpour with no respite in sight. I yearn to capture the future it points to, whether it be filled with rain or sunshine..." "I saw the figure of a woman, gracefully leaping and transforming amidst images and patterns. No... I'm not crazy, I did indeed see 'her.' I remember her voice, its velvety texture, and the colorful cards in her hands, imbued with some sort of magic... Oh, and she invited me to partake in fortune-telling. She said, 'Whether you want to foresee happiness or misfortune in the future, retrieve lost possessions, or seek unexpected gains... All I need is an honest story, for the past and the future are overlapped on the same point of a single circle.' My head spun, and she exuded such gentleness. I talked so much to her, and she patiently listened to my ramblings... And then, following her divination results, I retrieved a lost mirror for a guest of the hotel! Oh, you asked what I said to her? Oh, nothing important... Just some rumors about the past..." Currently, she journeys through various realms as a diviner, uncovering memories intertwined with her Path and Aeons. She believes that those memories are as enduring as gems, impervious to the eroding forces of oblivion. "Numerous Memokeepers have ventured to Penacony, only to discover it as a mere illusory mirage dancing upon the water's surface." "However, dreams... They represent a distorted form of memories. I shall delve into its depths and catch a fleeting glimpse of the buried memories before those Memosnatchers and Cremators arrive." * Unlocked at Character Level |

Attack orb or wind orb?
It depents on how diminishing your damage boost is. Black swan already have pretty much damage boost.
If you give her S5 eyes of prey, wind orb is slightly better but no significant differences. If you count ruan mei in, attack orb is slightly better but no significant differences.
If you give her her signature light cone or anything else that doesn’t give 48% damage boost, wind orb should be slightly better and this should be slightly more significant than the former situation, but is still not significant.
So is there any significant change when you have Before the Tutorial Mission Start(BtTMS) and ERR rope to keep stacking the debuff or is that not feasible?
im thinking BtMS with EHR- Speed-ERR- Atk.
or just go for Eyes of Prey with EHR – Speed – Atk > Wind Bonus the better option?
Black Swan ultimate actually look to be among the best of the ulti. Epiphany effect just does a lot of thing, by planting wind sheer/bleed/burn/shock label to her Sacrament, enemies taking more damage in their turn, ramp up her Sacrament stack faster, in turn level 7+ DoT will be achieve more often, and can activate her own E1. ulti loop play seem to being very conditional outside of SU, so the significant aren’t that much greater, but still worth considering.
So i think BtTMS will be better than Eyes of Prey. as for which relic stats, ERR will not be good if her ATK still being too low, making sure it is balance.
Something still doesn’t feel “right” with both Black Swan and Sparkle, and the possibility of thing subject to change are highly. …i really does feel troublesome to question their kit for the time being.
Does anyone know if her DoTpower will increase from the wind bonus? Or should I choose a planar sphere from ATK?
Sacrament is a wind DoT, everything except Break damage is effected by elemental damage % spheres
How much EHR does she need to min-max? going for E0S1. Atk or EHR body? Atk or Wind Dmg orb? so many questions
EHR 120 for max bonus. Wind orb if prefer, otherwise atk if the stat are really good.
do you guys think wind shear and wind dot is the same or in other words is sacrament regarded as 4 different dots or 5? can only wind dot exist?!
Her Sacrament “Wind DoT” is not the same as wind shear. However when she ults her Sacrament stacks on the target will be considered wind shear, as well as the other 3 main DoTs- burn, bleed and shock. With how it’s worded the main take away from her ult is “…regarded as” line as I’m almost positive Sacrament will only be a singular DoT but will now have applications that other DoT (besides Kafka) can work with. That and it synergizes with her Basic Attack (and Skill with A2 trace) to gain as much stacks as possible by herself. Her ult synergizes with her LC too.
Regarding could there be two sources of Wind DoTs at once, I don’t see why not? They are two completely separate DoTs. So yeah if you had Burn (from Guin), Bleed (from Luka), Wind Shear (from BS- let’s say she broke the enemy toughness), Shock (from Kafka) and finally of course Sacrament, Kafka would be able to blow up all 5 DoTs.
The fact that it’s called wind DoT by default and wind shear in ult means its almost 100% not the same
Should I warp for Ruan Mei for Kafka and BS team or no?
You should. That would be a dream team. Right now I try Kafka and Ruan Mei. The damage Ruan Mei can offer is really massive and can break easily too.
Kafka is pretty much hyper carry with Ruan Mei and or Blackswan in it.
Should I like pull for Ruan Mei for Black Swan and Kafka team?
Yes, Ruan Mei is the best support for team with multiple carry, especially DoT team cuz other support mostly provide buffs in the form of crit or crit dmg, which DoT team doesnt need.
Is she worth it if you don’t have Kafka?
Mhm, Sampo Black Swan should work wonder, especially vs wind weak.
guinaifen and sampo work pretty well with her too. guinaifen ultimate proccs all burn dmg and sampo at e4 proccs all wind shear dmg both give some small buffs as welll, only disadvantuage is it only works when black swans empiphany (ultimate) is active and all her sacrament stacks count as every dot status. sampo also stacks sacrament 3 times with each of his turns if you don’t miss too much and with guinaifen together it’s even more. I think when you don’t have kafka play her with guinaifen and sampo (at e4)(you can also use luka as substitute but keep in mind he is single target) + sustain should still be pretty strong.
to sampos e4: I’m pretty sure it triggers her dmg too as long as you stack his wind shear to 5 but we will see I’m to lazzy to test it out.
Hrmm. I know she’s going to be strong, but I’m curious how much she’s going to rely on her opponent taking turns to proc dots in order to deal damage. Mostly because then Ruan + Kakfa might not be ideal due to the break recovery delay that Ruan puts on the enemy, meaning fewer turns, but her Ult’s mini-turn does give them a frost-like partial turn that would proc dots, so I’m just curious what the math is going to come out as. Definitely seems like you wouldn’t want to run her with any Imaginary units like Welt that mega-stall enemies, and you’ll need a decent enough sustain to ensure that the enemy turns aren’t too dangerous for your team. I’m curious if the pretty much infinite stacking of Sacrament will counter that too, since if they are heavily delayed you get a lot more stacks on the enemy so a lot more damage when they do go, but I’m not sure if that will actually deal more damage than more actual enemy turns.
Black swan’s base DoT is a higher scale then Gui’s, 218 to 240 MV. without her stacking. (balanced by the fact that she needs like 4X the EHR with her requirements being about 120% to Gui’s 34% ish)
RM will float around 180% BE, so on break recovery that is like 40% action delay (taking her bonuses into account).
there is a 50/50 chance that that it’s effectivly 1 more turn for everyone but the breaker (depending on speed thresholds). it will probably be a DPS loss, but not by much. espeically if BS ult is in sync with Rebloom proc. fast tracking the high damage burst, and denying the enemy an attack. (or just build a ton of BE for the rebloom break to scale the delay further)
the majority of stacking will probably occure durring the enemy turn or Black Swans, as those are the unlimited source of stacking (well neither having a stated max stacks per action), as by default Detonations don’t stack sac. her A4 trace is made explicty to allow detonations to build the stack, and it’s limited per action for a reason. By the way all DoT units are currently able to detonate Dots, Kafka is just unique with it being unconditonal, Sampo at E4 should stack, Gui should stack slowly off ult, and Luka with A6 and E6 stack.
infinte stall won’t help much unless you have like a 200 spd Kafka getting unlimited detonations in. in general a 3rd DoT unit will help both her and kafka by playing into their mechanics, but the sheer amount of amp RM gives to both should be comperable, and Rebloom allowing for “safe” dot procs is nice.
They heavily had to design around Kafka to avoid this kit becoming a nightmare with Kafka.
what if you don’t have kafka? would this still work
If Black swan Ulted, then Gui, Smapo, or Luka. are able to detontate her Sac as well as build sac stacks. it’s just effectivly a ton of damage, assuming it got stacked.
all of them have their problems with Stacking. (so if your looking for maximum damage triple DoT is a better team comp)
Kafka for maximum stacks needs either a DoT break, or S1
Luka needs an enhanced basic attack and E6
Sampo needs E4
Guin needs BS to ult and a fire break DoT to full stack
but any one of the above and RM are able to work pretty well, and if broken RM’s ultimate safety if the enemies survive is nice, considering the 4* DoT units tend to be a bit squishy, so a safety net is advisable for consistency.
since ruan mei let the dot procc more often because enemies have technically “more turns” (even when they can’t do anything in them) results in more dmg potential so you might trigger not only her dot really fast after delaying enemies but especially kafkas but to trigger her twice while the enemy is delayed means you either have her ultimate active or someone who tirggers a dot are able to get a turn in between the enemies delay to at least apply 1 stack and yes this for sure results in less stacks but 1 stack is 1/20 of the first stack (+ some extra buffs at 3 and 7 stacks what only procc on enemy turns and not with kafkas skill and ultimate.)
I’m pretty sure ruan meis delay is not a massive buff but still does more than without delay.
It’s odd, since her ult’s damage increment and her talent’s splash damage and def ignore only applies when her DoT deals damage on the enemy’s turn, not when any teammate detonates her DoT. Hoyo must have intentionally limited her synergy with kafka while still leaving kafka as her best team option.
Her texts are lengthy, just like Dr.Ratio before his last major revamp which reduced the burden of reading while leaving his playstyle clearly visible at the first glace. Hope the same would happen to black swan as well, I value conciseness over complicatedness.
probably because the blast DoT and 20% def ignore would be wayyy to strong to just have at will
