So, feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, but even with the e2 reducing the amount of nihility units needed for the full buff, wouldn’t swapping in a harmony unit instead of a second nihility unit mean you’re theoretically reducing the amount of debuffs you apply each turn by 1, therefore, reducing Acheron’s DPS by delaying her ult?
Secondly, I can kind of understand the argument that the e2 also gives Acheron an extra stack for the ult that she would normally get from the second nihility unit, therefore, meaning that you could get her ult at the same speed even with a harmony unit for buffs. However, wouldn’t that still be a situation where you could theoretically be getting another extra stack with e2 “and” two nihility to get ult even faster?
For Example:
e2 Acheron with 1 nihility applying debuffs and 1 harmony buffing the party: 2 stacks from Acheron and 1 stack from the nihility for a total of 3 stacks per turn.
e2 Acheron with 2 nihility applying debuffs and no harmony: 2 stacks from Acheron and 2 stacks from nihility for a total of 4 per turn.
Given how Acheron is built and how much of her damage is backloaded into her ult, I’m genuinely questioning whether a harmony buff is even realistically worth getting Acheron’s slower than you otherwise could, e2 or otherwise. Again, feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, but part of me wonders if the insistence that she needs e2 to be good so that she can be paired with harmony units isn’t just gaslighting from the Harmony Brainrot crowd that can’t comprehend something other than Harmony-based Hypercarry…
Yes, you’re wrong, because Bronya and Sparkle exist and they double the number of Acheron moves and E2S1 Acheron gets 3 stacks per turn – 1 from Skill, 1 from E2 and 1 from Sign.
Thus, Acheron, together with slow Bronya or 161+ spd Sparkle, generates 6 stacks per round.
Add 161 spd Pela pushing your 2-way Ult (3 stacks – 2 from NA Pealrs and 1 from Ult) and you will get a stable Acheron’s Ult every round.
This is even without taking into account sustain (Trend of the Universal Market / Gallagher / break / Aventurine / etc)…
Also, Acheron doesn’t really need Dmg buff, but she really wants Atk and Crit, and in the case of Sparkle, you get tons of Crit and the opportunity to put Atk boots on.
And yes, despite the fact that Acheron’s main dmg is Ult, her extra Skill gained from Sparkle/Bronya still deals an additional 60-120k each round.
I guess that’s fair. In all honesty, I really don’t think that much about Bronya or Sparkle. Sparkle’s extra SP is a neat unique mechanic, but the whole Harmony Brainrot schtick about turn manipulation and speed tuning has always seemed kind of cringe and like an absolutely miserable way to play the game, at least to me…
For the life of me, I can’t understand this need to force almost every team to have the same two to three units. It’s the same I’ve seen in Genshin with the literal poison that is the “National” team just being a boring solution to making just about any character “good”. I guess it’s just another example of optimizing the fun out of games.
So, shortly after the first comment, I was considering a 2x nihility team with a similar Acheron, a similar Pela, Silver Wolf and Aventurine. Assuming the 3 energy from Acheron and Pela is the same, with Silver Wolf’s debuffs and sustain as well, you could probably pull off a relatively stable ult every turn.
While I realize you mentioned your scenario didn’t include sustain, unless the additional factors result in two ults per turn, they would be relatively similar, but with the harmony one like doing more damage. Personally, I don’t care that much about insanely big numbers, so long as a I have enough to empty the health bar, like how if a boss has 1 million hp, a 1.5 million attack and a 20 million attack are functionally the same because all damage beyond that 1 million hp is essentially speculative.
Therefore, I just wanted to wish you luck and hope you enjoy your version of Acheron and maybe you can let me enjoy mine since they can theoretically both do big damage with 1 turn ults, while I will admit harmony does more damage.
That’s an interesting way to look at it 😮
It sounds like you’re fighting against yourself. You start by asking a genuine question: is E2 worth it if swapping a Nihility for a Harmony gives little benefit? A kind soul gives you a clear answer: Yes, only if you use Sparkle or Bronya to turn advance Acheron, then you start losing yourself in a meaningless rant about how speedtuning Harmonies is cringe to you. Then you wrongly imply that the person answering you is suggesting a no-sustain team, when they clearly tell you that you can use one with Trend of the universal market.
No one is forcing you to get E2. Whilst E2 is objectively stronger, it’s by no means required to clear even the hardest content. No one will judge you or stop you from enjoying what you choose to use. Good luck to you too on your pulls.
Oh, I’m plenty aware that I was ranting and going on a diatribe a bit there. I don’t exactly know if I would agree with the phrase “kind soul” given their rather terse tone, but maybe that’s just me.
At no point though did I imply they were suggesting a no-sustain team. What I said was that their numbers leading to a stable ult every turn was without including the stacks they could gain from a sustain unit, while the scenario I was looking at for double nihility did include the stacks from sustain.
Of course, all units are objectively stronger with their eidolons, that’s kind of obvious here. I am also aware that no one is “forcing” me to get e2, though it does seem like a lot of discussion surrounding Acheron seems to imply that you “have” to get e2 if you want her to be great. My realization was that, if both teams could reach a 1 turn ult with relative stability, then the only real bonus from e2, at least to me, is higher theoretical damage numbers, which I don’t really care about.
Oh, I’m plenty aware that I was ranting and going on a diatribe a bit there. I don’t exactly know if I would agree with the phrase “kind soul” given their rather terse tone, but maybe that’s just me, or it could just be a response to my general tone and salty-ness with the state of the harmony-based “meta”.

Do people here really think a 300% damage buff is better than a 100% defense shred? Like, really?
not better than 1 NIhility vs 1 god tier harmony unit if the 2 Nihility-restrictions were off (e2)
Still coping for another buff. Hopefully the next one matters to make her viable on lower investments and make e0s1 great.
An e0s1 Acheron is already busted. Hoyo wants to make sure to squeeze players from their favourite unit so they put more power into her Eidolons. Her E2 and E6 in particular is so OP you dont need any other DPS just supports.
So do we know wether acheron will be coming first in 2.1 ?
She will. She was drip marketed first and that usually means that’s the order of release.
Correct me if I’m wrong
– 100% defense is better than a 300% damage buff
– Each % of damage buff after a 100% defense shred results in significantly more damage than a 300% buff without any Def Shred or Def Pen.
– In Acheron’s case, she has a 25% RES pen and 160% damage buff, so her self-buff is totally busted.
so… uh…
it’s complicated.
the issue here being that “a 300% damage buff” isn’t a useful description. It doesn’t tell us what bracket the buffs are in for the damage calculation (unless you’re somehow getting 300% Damage Bonus from harmony buffs, which is thoroughly absurd).
Effects like RM’s 66% damage bonus and the orb relic slot’s 38% elemental damage bonus are in the same bracket.
for example, a character that deals 100 damage (to make the numbers easy) will deal 138 damage after equipping an Orb as their only damage bonus source, a 38% increase (the bracket only has one thing in it). With RM’s 66% and no Orb, they do 166 damage (again, only one source in the bracket).
But when a character wearing an orb gets RM’s buff, their damage goes from 138 to 204. That’s an increase of 48% ([204-138]/138, then x 100 for percent), not 66 (it is still very high).
Similarly, Sparkle’s crit damage buff is additive with all other crit damage effects, including gear.
The 300% you listed is a lot, and so high that it will probably be better than what 100% def shred will give you (which is also not a 100%, increase in damage, but usually easier to calculate)… but how much it actually improves depends on what brackets the buffs are in and how much is in those brackets from other sources. remember that this includes gear.
and I wasn’t really able to get to this before… but we still aren’t done.
See, each bracket is then multiplicative with the others.
so, for example, you have a character that deals 100 damage with their base attack stat (so level, atk from lightcone, modifier from the attack being used) and then no other modifiers.
Their gear then gives them 100% bonus attack, 50% damage bonus, and a total of 150% critical hit damage (including the base 50 that every character gets. note that the crit damage bracket always has something in it).
their critical hit will do 100 * (1.00+1.00) * (1.00+0.50) * (1.00+1.50), for a total of 750 damage. An increase of 650% which is MUCH higher than the 300 total value would indicate.
We then have to put these together. Say that the character above then gets 66% damage bonus from Ruan Mei, 48% damage bonus and 75% critical damage bonus from Sparkle, and 40% bonus attack from Huohuo.
they go from dealing 100*(1 + 1.00)*(1+0.5)*(1+1.5) = 750 on a critical hit to dealing 100*(1+1.00+0.4)*(1+0.5+0.66+0.48)*(1+1.5+0.75)=2059.2 damage… which is an increase (from the various characters’ buffs) of (2059-750)/750 = 2.7456, or a little under 275%. which is a lot… and completely different from the total buff value of 66%+48%+75%+40% = 229%. And that actual gain will vary with how the character’s gear is set up. the “300% bonus damage” that I assume is coming from multiple sources… tells us basically nothing about how much damage the character actually gains. Just that 300 is a large total buff value.
and then we get to mitigation. The 2059 then gets reduced by a percentage based on what the enemy defense is (and I don’t actually know the formula for that, just that it is not linear. Not being linear is important for reducing but not eliminating enemy defense, I’ll get to that).
Say the enemy’s defense provides 40% mitigation. It will make the 2059 raw damage attack deal 2059 * (1-0.40) = 1235.52 damage.
note: I don’t actually know how much mitigation enemies in the game actually get, and thus can’t actually compare how much gain you will actually see from harmony buffs vs def shred.
That’s the effective damage of the attack. That’s what your baseline is before defense reduction is inflicted. If you reduce enemy defense by 100%, you wipe out that mitigation and are doing 2059 again. That is, you go from doing 1235 to 2059, which is a (2059-1235)/1325 = 0.6667, or a 66.7% increase. Which is not 40%, nor 100%. and will depend entirely on how much benefit your enemies get from their defense stat, which I don’t know and may vary from enemy to enemy. If the enemy has 50% damage reduction from defense, wiping that out will double your resulting damage.
also note: because the translation of defense to mitigation is nonlinear, halving enemy defense DOES NOT halve the mitigation they get from it. I don’t actually know how that translates either.

Do people here really think a 300% damage buff is better than a 100% defense shred? Like, really?
Instead of doing the full math, a lot of people really like to just look at number and “small number/wrong type of number = bad”
To be fair, due to how her kit works you need to go beyond simple direct damage comparisons. I doubt most of these people have used a calc or sheets to compute for themselves in the first place.
It’s more of people are mad they can’t use their harmony waifus with her unless they whale. It was never about her lol She could be the greatest character we’ve ever had and they’d still be mad. If we get a mommy debuffer, they’ll get horny enough for her and all is forgiven
“haha those people are mad because they can’t use their fully built characters with Acheron”
no shit sherlock, what a jackass take.
Case in Point 😀
No, that just prove that you are coping for your future waifu because she sucks.
Lmao I’m not even pulling her my guy. What coping? I’m here for Aventurine. Always has been. I just find the doomposting incredibly hilarious when only a small fraction of it has any sense and the majority is just blind hate.
case in point of what sherlock? you are the case in point of a privileged day 1 player who thinks that all players surely have silver wolf ready in their roster
Please take care, don’t get stressed over it.
I love that you conveniently take out her LC options in your argument. Also 100% defense shred from who? Pela and SW, sure, but what if you don’t have one of those? How do you reach that number with Guinafen or Luka?
is that really your argument here lol? we both know damm well that 300% damage buff is even more ridiculous ask unless you run triple harmonies. just having nihility give her increase damage dealt equal to having a harmony on her already.
Is your argument ignoring other people’s argument to cope to what ever you have been feed?
His arguments are:
1. The rolling for LC haven’t been mentioned.
2. Not everyone have Silverwolf to make that -100% def.
Like… read.

Still the same shit. Bad at e0. Decent at e0s1. Great at e2s1.
have you seen her showcases lol?
Yeah. Those are not that good tbh. E0S1 or even E1S1 can’t 0 cycle MoC, unless the game gives her a lot of buffs that caters her.
E2S1 is where she goes really good.
Can you please explain to me what the benefit of 0 cycling MoC even is? People seem to make such a big deal about it when everything in MoC can be obtained so long as both teams don’t spend more than 7 cycles? Why is 0 cycling such a big deal?
People artificially create a challenge for themselves by aiming for 0 Cycle because the game is considered to be too easy. There is no real benefit in game, you get the same amount of jades regardless if you cleared it in 0 cycles or 7 cycles. Just a sense of accomplishment to some I guess, which while I personally don’t see it, is still valid for them. Though pulling for characters just based on their 0 cycle potential is a bit sad but alas
What showcase?
The ones where every relic have perfect max sub-stats?
Or the ones with 2 other 5 stars characters and their light cones?
He is right, she is bad at e0, good at e0s1, and great at e2s1.
Helping to compile her V4 new eidolons and traces based on what some players feedback
A2 = At the start of battle, immediately gain 5 point(s) of Slashed Dream and apply 5 stack(s) of Crimson Knot to a random enemy. When Slashed Dream is at max, every stack of Slashed Dream that goes over grants a stack of Quadrivalent Ascendance, which can stack up to 3 times.
A4 = When there are 1/2 other character(s) following the Path of Nihility in the team, increase the DMG of Acheron’s Basic ATK, Skill, and Ultimate to 115%/160% of the original DMG.
A6 = When Rainblade from Acheron’s Ultimate hits enemy targets with Crimson Knot, her DMG increases by 30%, stacking up to a maximum of 3 stack(s) and lasting for 3 turn(s). Also additionally deals 6 hits of DMG when Stygian Resurge is triggered. Every hit deals Lightning DMG equal to 25% of Acheron’s ATK to a single enemy target and is viewed as Ultimate DMG.
E1 = Increases CRIT Rate by 18% when dealing DMG to debuffed enemies.
E2 = The number of characters on the Path of Nihility required for the highest value of the Trace, The Abyss, is reduced by 1. At the beginning of Acheron’s turn, gain 1 point of Slashed Dream. Additionally, inflict 1 stack of Crimson Knot on an enemy with the most Crimson Knot.
E4 = Inflicts Vulnerability to Ultimate DMG when enemies enter battle and increases the DMG they take from Ultimates by 8%.
E6 = Acheron’s Ult DMG attacks have 20% Res Pen. Basic Attack and Skill are considered Ult DMG and reduce Toughness regardless of Type. When enemy is broken, triggers Lightning Weakness Break.
With the new V4 changes, does this mean she can brute force everything now? Since its 20% res pen
Only at E6
read her talent, e6 only ADDS an additional 20%, she already has 20% res pen at e0.
Yes, but the 20% at E0 is limited to only *during* her Ultimate (the ability). She could try brute forcing at E0, but you have to at least aim for a 2-turn Ult. If it’s still gonna take you 3 turns to Ult, it’s hard to say it’s worth it.
Did you read her talent?
Nah, after all this site only having very little as 150s personal actively using comments section. as if such pointless behavior would lead to anything meaningful. see anymore and i’ll punch you!
