Character Details | Topaz, Senior Manager of the Strategic Investment Department in the Interastral Peace Corporation, and leader of the Special Debts Picket Team. Already a member of the "Ten Stonehearts" at a young age, Topaz's Cornerstone is the "topaz of debt retrieval." Her partner, the Warp Trotter "Numby," is also capable of acutely perceiving where riches are located. It can even perform jobs involving security, debt collection, and actuarial sciences. Presently they are traversing the cosmos together, chasing down various debts and liabilities that negatively influence the IPC's commercial ventures. |
Character Story: Part I | "Destor, have you seen this resume?" "Which one do you... Oh, it's her — She just finished her internship at the marketing research team, and made quite a stir there — Ah, in a good way." "She's already finished the internship? Ah..." "Is there something wrong, Mr. Dvorski?" "Nothing. Just curious. After all, the age at which she started her career is the youngest recorded in this department... Besides, her resume is so stunning. Let me see... Oh! She even signed a "lifelong contract"? I didn't expect us to pick up a talent like this from such a despondent planet..." "I've already checked with our colleagues. Everything in her resume is true. She didn't even write her employment exam results in — Apparently she got a high mark in actuarial sciences, micro- and macroeconomics, intergalactic finances, and management sciences. Even her physical exam was nearly perfect. The only topic she failed was..." "Hmm? What was it?" "... It's business etiquette. She didn't even turn up for that test. 'I absolutely hate formalism' — apparently that's what she said." * Unlocked at Character Level |
Character Story: Part II | "Say... You —" "Hmm? What's wrong, Uncle Dvorski?" "...You know pets are forbidden at the office, right?" "Of course! Row "...So you remember it very well. Then, can you explain yourself—" "— But I think this rule is useless and doesn't need to be obeyed at all. To be honest with you, sir — with these cute little critters around, my work efficiency went up by twenty-seven percent!" "...I won't question the numbers coming out of your mouth, but..." "See? This little one — up you get — it's called Numby! Don't treat it just as a normal Warp Trotter. It's really sensitive to the scent of money! Now I bring it with me wherever I go abroad for business. It's basically become my lucky star~" "I never thought I'd see such creatures at the office. Seriously... *cough* Anyways, I'll pretend I didn't see it. Just remember, the next time the director comes for a visit — Ah! Ahhh! What's going on!? D—Don't bite me! Q—Quickly! Get it away —" * Unlocked at Character Level |
Character Story: Part III | Reporter: Francisco Dvorski Reportee: Jade Report Content: Team Lead Work Report Madam Jade: This should be the last time I send you a work report through the system. Time flies. In the blink of an eye, I've already worked for half an Amber Era at the Strategic Investment Department, and only managed to climb to my current position through many trials and hardship. I may not be able to call myself distinguished, but I have at least gathered enough wealth for the next few generations of my family. I desire nothing else. Here, I would like to specifically thank the phenomenal support you've constantly given to Marketing Team Anyway, I will not waste any time presenting the recent deliverables and outcomes achieved by Marketing Team I trust that you have heard of ███ ████'s experiences and achievements in some fashion or another. I have included in the system her work reports and the comprehensive feedback given by multiple personnel in the team, for your perusal. Though she is still young, ███ has demonstrated exceptional business acumen, managerial thinking, strength of character and ability to perform under pressure. I have no doubt that, if she were to assume the leadership responsibilities of Marketing Team Marketing Team Francisco Dvorski * Unlocked at Character Level |
Character Story: Part IV | "Destor..." "What's wrong, Mr. Dvorski?" "Maybe... you can start with the food? I don't think anyone is coming." "It's okay. I'm not hungry yet. This is your farewell party, after all. Let's wait for a bit longer." "Haha... I know what these brats are like. All of them only think about working and earning money... They've probably forgotten about their old leader ages ago." "...I'm very sorry, Mr. Dvorski. I originally thought that at least Jelena would..." "...Hey, don't use that name. Now you need to call her 'Topaz.' Honestly, I never imagined that she would become one of them..." "You've gotta acknowledge her achievements, Destor. Stubborn old bones like me won't get anywhere near that position even if I worked here for a few more lifetimes. She's already a part of a different world. How would she possibly have the time to come to this small party?" "You're being too humble. I feel that... Ah, there's a knock on the door! Stay where you are. I'll get it." "...Who is it, Destor? My eyesight is getting worse in my old age. I can't even tell who they are even if they're standing right in front of me..." "I'm so sorry, sir. No one came... It was just a letter being delivered." "Oh... I see. Who's the letter from? Such formality. They could have just sent an electronic message..." "There's no name written on the envelope. Hold on. I'll read the letter to you —" "Dear Mr. Dvorski, Thank you for your constant support and help over the years! I would definitely not be where I am today without your care and mentorship. I offer my deepest apologies for being unable to attend your retirement farewell party — I am currently working abroad at Taikiyan. Once this project is over, I will definitely take a whole day off and go visit you. Also, I seem to recall that you are into Roboball — So I'm going to bring back some souvenirs for you from Taikiyan. Yours Faithfully Forever, Jelena." "..." "Mr... Dvorski? Are you... crying?" * Unlocked at Character Level |

Any word on why she is already released after 2 1/2 weeks?
This is what you call “marketing”, you shorten the duration of banner so people have a sense of urgency and end up spending money to actually get the character before it’s gone.
Or maybe they are pushing the update in 5 weeks instead of 6 that’s why you end up with a 17 days banner and an 18 one.
They already annouced in the 1.4 dev livestream that this update would be only 5 weeks, so having to wait one less week for the penacony update is a win in my opinion
Really nice waifu design, but I wish they focused the animations on HER instead of the pig. I’d still pull but gonna hate that I’ll see the stupid pig 70% of the time.
wym? Topaz is a Pokemon trainer reference, so of course her Pokemon would show up in 70% of the animations. That’s like complaining that Hex Maniac or Cynthia, or Hilda, or some other pokemon waifu shows up for 3 frames while their Zigzagoon takes up 90% of the screen time.
Mihoyo cares about being faithful to the original work they reference, while still designing a hot waifu. As a pokemon fan, I love their animations and love me some Topass and Numbussy.
Not a Pokemon fan so I don’t care with the reference. I just wanna see my waifu in front of me 24/7. Also, ain’t all Pokemon trainers underage? Calling them waifus are weird bro
the person only called topaz their “waifu” though, not the pokemon trainers themselves. and topaz and numby come as a duo. plus topaz has already stated in her character story that she doesn’t want to be separated from numby even if workplace rules dictate it. wanting numby to not be in topaz’ animations is like asking topaz to become a soulless mannequin…
Will the 4 set firesmith set works on Topaz’s skill? Since it says increase skill dmg, and Topaz skill is considered a follow up atk??
It shoud, but in next update will be new set for follow up attacks, so will be better to wait it before optimazie her build.
Topaz’s skill doesn’t do skill damage; it does follow-up attack damage. So no, the skill damage boost doesn’t benefit her.
Although I can see why it wouldn’t work, I’d still argue it should. Compare it to Elation Buff in SU Champion’s Dinner: Cat’s Cradle. The Ultimate is considered a follow-up, but it’s still an Ultimate. Topaz Skill doing Follow-up attack damage is not a sign it is not a skill but a trigger for other effects that rely on Follow-up attack. If Topaz skill is only Follow-Up damage and debuff then why place damage numbers on the skill that scale with it’s Skill Trace Level? Why not make it rely in Talent Trace level?
I really want her, she’s pretty and has a good character, I think she’s around top-3 hsr waifus in my opinion, but I don’t have clara to build Topaz as a hypercarry or dual-carry. I don’t have Himeko. I have Jing Yuan, but I think it’s a waste of her potential. what should I do? (I’m a full f2p)
It depends, if you already have some hypercarries in your account and you like her design, just roll for her, after all this is a game just for fun. and for the record, jing yuan is ok with her, hope you decide and have fun, good luck
Signed. just a F2P guy
Topaz/Clara isn’t a hypercarry build. A hyper carry build is two or more dedicated supports for her such as Bronya, Asta, Tingyun, Yukong, Pela, Silver Wolf, or Hanya next patch. Hypercarry could very likely end up being her best team or closely competitive. Don’t worry about not having Clara/Himeko because most people won’t either, meaning her most popular teams will likely be hypercarries. Either way, you’re bound to get Clara or Himeko at some point while playing the game and then you’ll have topaz ready for them!
Hypercarry team are just around the corner in term of group dpr for Topaz, her best team is indeed Clara, Himeko (Not that good in ST), March 7Th (not for the damage component, but the number of follow-up she does) and such, not so much for JY due to the slower rate of his follow-up. (still really good, don’t get me wrong, but Topaz’ dpr plummet for that reason).
She’s waifu so pull; it’s that simple. Pull and be happy. I don’t have any of those characters either and I’m pulling. You can full clear MoC with 4-stars and even if you couldn’t, MoC does not reward enough to base your pulling decisions around success there. MoC is sort of a scam in that regard. So you get 540 jade instead of 600, so what? That’s literally like 8-9 extra pulls per year. From what I’ve seen Harmony Trailblazer has follow up attacks as part of their kit btw. So when they are released you can probably pair them with Topaz.
Don’t worry about not having Himeko/Clara. They are in permanent banner anyways, so in the long run, you’ll eventually get them. or maybe pick one of them once you wished 300x in permanent banner.
March 7th exists and has follow-up for attacks on shielded characters. I don’t know if you have Kafka but she follows up once per turn on an ally basic attack. Other potential follow-up attack characters to spam with are: Blade, Yan Qing and Herta though your mileage will definitely vary. Yang Qing triggers half the time on the attack. Blade triggers when reaching health threshholds and Herta triggers on enemies reaching half-health
Will the crit dmg bonus of seele’s lc work with enhanced numby? i already have it and am wondering if it would be a good option against swordplay for example.
Probably not, if, for example, you take Inert salsotto planar, only the 15% follow-up damage is taken in the enhanced counter ult formula from Clara, so I assume, it is working the same way.
I agree it probably won’t work but not for the reason you lay out. Inert Salsoto is a single buff of 15% that affects Ult and Follow-up. It’s not 2 different buffs with 1 trigger each, it’s 1 buff with 2 triggers, the attack being a follow-up or an Ult.
Seele’s Lightcone is a different triggering method entirely since if you consider what Seele’s Ult is, it’s an attack not a buff to a Follow-up. What needs to be considered is whether buffed Numby attack is considered an Ult or not, which isn’t likely considering what Topaz’s Lightcone stats are.
Does anyone here know why Numby is called Kontie in the German version?
It seems like every language has its own name for it. It would need a Korean to enlighten us to the original meaning of the name, but my guess is that it has to do with numbers or money.
In english its Numby, maybe a derivative from “number”.
Kontie in german could be a derivative from “Konto”, at least thats the only thing I can think of right now.
It’s “Счетовод” (“Accountant”) in russian lol
It’s simply “Dinheirinho” (“Money”) on Portuguese XD
in Spanish he’s named Conti, probably just a nickname for “Contable” which just means accountant lmao
The original name is in Chinese, not Korean. And it means account/bill.
I agree with the other reply. It’s probably a diminutive of Konto, which means “account”. Like oh, my cute little bank account Kontie haha.
Everyone on here talks about how she’s a support but a lot of people forget that she can 100% go full hypercarry, her E and her talent are two different attacks, they can both happen in the same turn. Topaz basically does 300% atk every turn, thats more than Seele
another SilverWolf
I think people’s thinking a lot, just get Topaz and be happy, is just a game.
Honestly, W take
true
There’s nothing wrong with thinking and being happy. Those two concepts are not, and should not be made antagonistic.
That is to say: theocraft to your hearts content, and if the character you love happens to not be able to output as much damage as others, then don’t let that be a good enough reason to dissuade you from pulling them. They will still be strong enough to beat the hardest content and you will very much enjoy using them daily.
I think swordplay with super impositions is madly nutty if her follow up attacks and skill of using numby registers all of them as multiple attacks. She’s able to capitalize a full stack in 1 turn that’s around 50% at s2. while also very very efficient for being a sub dps since her follow up attacks are only focused to 1 character that’s marked by her so if we have other characters that can consistently follow up attack it’s nutty but her LC is pretty good too, I think it increases any character’s damage when they crit on the enemy target? I don’t see any turns on it, so its either permanent till you switch target or it’s a one time proc?
im also super curious about that, i mean her lc ofc provide 24% cr dmg team wide, but with swordplay you will get 80% DMG increase, hopefully her skill will work with swordplay cuz thats just like blade with Sercet vow lc but with 100% uptime
Swordplay is a big dmg% increase, but I feel like her dmg% isn’t in huge need of help because of how much dmg% she gets from ultimate, plus traces, plus dmg% orb, plus potentially asta’s a4, and planetary rendezvous on asta. There is a ton of dmg% already. I think she benefits more from extra crit from her signature or from herta shop lc. She can have 35% crit rate just from traces and lc with her signature which is pretty significant imo.
Swordplay still could be nutty if it works on numby’s attack for the skill though, and the dmg% could be appreciated if you aren’t running her with asta.
Asta buff %atk , the Swordplay buff %dmg which is much better when you already have some sources of atk buff like tingyun, Asta
Asta can pass 18-42% dmg bonus to other fire characters. 18% from her A4 aswell as an additional 12-24% if your using planetary rendezvous on her.
She doesn’t actually receive any dmg% on her ultimate, it makes numby’s attack ratio 300%. I also don’t think one would run asta with topaz unless they’re also running himeko which is a logical choice don’t get me wrong, but her strongest follow-up teammate right now would be clara anyways who you would rather run tingyun and lynx with.
That is to say, i don’t believe swordplay’s dmg% is subject to as much diminishing returns as you suggest it to be.
