TitleText
n/aA member of the Masked Fools. Inscrutable and unscrupulous.
A dangerous maestro of theatrics, utterly engrossed in the art of performance. Adorned with innumerable masks, she is the hero with a thousand faces.
Wealth, status, power... None of those matters to Sparkle. The only thing that can get her attention is "amusement."
n/aThe girl, an abandoned orphan, lived without knowledge of her origins or destination until she encountered a passing troupe. From a distance, she watched a black-haired lady with a double ponytail, gracefully moving across the stage like a fish. Despite donning various masks, they did not hinder her laughs and cries during her performance, captivating the audience even from afar. The fish leaped in front of her, then dove back down, creating ripples in the surface of the water.

Gradually, she realized she was watching the performance from beneath the stage.

Intrigued, she continued to watch the performances for countless days, but she remained an audience member, never stepping into the spotlight. After one of the shows ended, she went backstage, where the black-haired lady handed her a mask.
"Can I perform, too?"
"Why not? If others believe you are 'Sparkle,' then you are. Go, it's time for your show."

As the curtain, serving as the fourth wall, was drawn, the stage remained dimly lit, revealing an unsettling black void. Though wearing a mask, she knew the audience could see and hear her. She kept recalling Sparkle's performance, imitating her movements, voice, and demeanor.

"You've done very well for your first time."
"But my imitation... Was not perfect."
"That is a minor hiccup, but not a problem as long as nobody notices the difference... By the way, we are leaving tomorrow, so for as long as you want, you are the true Sparkle here, and you can make her whoever you want her to be."

Sparkle wanted to say something, but the lady affectionately rubbed her head.
"Not many people come to see us, except for you. We're just a small troupe, and we don't have grand aspirations of becoming famous in the cosmos... It brings me joy to meet someone like you who will remember an insignificant character named Sparkle... Don't cry, you can keep this mask. Now it's yours."
Sparkle nodded.
"When you don this mask, you have the power to become anyone and no one... If you truly aspire to be an actor, don't limit yourself to this small stage. Set your sights on the larger world and explore new horizons."
n/aAs the last descendant of the Puppet Clan, the girl lacked the freedom to choose. She was bound to live her life according to the dictates of the mask, as puppets were mere vessels for the masks.

According to their legend, the longer a puppet dons a mask, the higher the chances of the puppet acquiring a soul, resembling a true human. However, in human folklore, masks were depicted as tools used for resurrecting the deceased, thus leading to the dwindling numbers of her people.

However, as she had no interest in becoming human, being a doll was not an unfavorable choice for her. She dutifully obeyed the commands of the mask, despite the risk of attracting pursuers, as defying the mask proved to be challenging.

Movement was a crucial aspect.
By the will of the mask, she needed to smile sweetly when happy, hold her forehead while crying, grit her teeth when angry, narrow her eyes when jealous, and make a scene when in despair. There were also signature gestures, such as raising her eyebrows slightly to face others with the left side of her face, and raising her hand to express love, although she had to lower it later, as slightly biting her lower lip was the way to convey her true desires.

Voice was another aspect.
Depending on the situation, her voice needed to be cheerful when happy, mellifluous when expressing lyrical emotions, calm and assertive when making statements, strained when harboring hatred, and sorrowful when filled with grief.

Remarkably, she managed to sustain this way of life for years, seamlessly blending into her surroundings and even becoming a playwright. Nobody ever suspected that she wore a mask. However, she couldn't help but wonder if there existed another type of "mask" in the world — perhaps someone wearing such a mask would laugh when seeking revenge, shed tears when smiling, remain silent when raging... And speak the most sarcastic remarks with the utmost calmness.

Naturally, she couldn't do this due to the will of the mask, but as a playwright, making her characters on stage act like this was easy for her.

One morning, the doorbell rang, but it wasn't her usual delivery person at the door.
"Dear Miss Sparkle, I wonder if we could have a chat?"
"We have read your latest work, and we're curious if you know anything about the 'Mask'..."

n/aThe faceless girl realized that she must be under some kind of curse. Why else couldn't she feel any stimuli? Her sense of pain, taste, and smell were all intact, yet she was unable to react to them. Naturally, she couldn't experience joy, anger, sadness, or a range of emotions. She could only strive to observe others' reactions in various situations to understand their feelings.

"...How would you feel if you were drinking a cup of bitter tea? How would you drink it?"
Although tied to the chair and immobilized, the homeless man on the left made an appreciative gesture and nodded. The girl in the middle immediately cried and shook her head in denial, while the madam on the right wrinkled her nose in disgust.

"What if you were in an extremely cold hut, with only this cup of tea at hand?"
Naturally, the man nodded. The girl cried for a while and then reluctantly accepted, while the lady still reacted in disgust.

She continued to change her scenarios and ask questions day and night until her interviewees passed out. She would send them home and seek out new targets for her "interviews."

During that time, the town's inhabitants all had the same nightmare. They found themselves trapped in a place where a blurred-faced young girl politely asked them questions, and they had no choice but to answer. They could only provide responses repeatedly until the young girl meticulously recorded every detail on paper masks, one after another. Whenever a mask was filled, it was replaced by another.

This nightmare was soon replaced by another, as residents claimed to see paper masks flying through the air in the middle of the night. The masks would talk to each other, faintly glowing before eventually fading out, resembling sparklers in the night sky. They appeared every night, as if they were residents living in the shadow of the town.

In a dark basement, a young lady remained unaware of this nightmare. She had gathered enough information about people's nuanced emotions and their perceptions of different things... To make more paper masks. She firmly believed that although she possessed no emotions, the masks she created had flesh and blood. She even believed that one day, they would become real beings.
n/a"There are a few versions that are particularly popular." When Sparkle arrived at Fool's Tavern, she admitted her deeds. "Liking and believing are two different things, but people are more likely to believe in their favorite stories."

"Lies? Come on, I'm not trying to tell a grand story or fabricate an eye-catching experience... I'm wholeheartedly exercising my imagination for my own sake. I imagine various lives, seek excitement, and then recreate them as best I can, and pump the brakes on my imaginative balloon just a second before it bursts."

"Seriously, having a script is far from enough. First and foremost, I must wholeheartedly believe that the character I'm portraying truly exists. Then, I need to imagine the other stories where the character would appear. I always need extra information to make their motivation logical and emotional."

"And only then will I feel I can grasp the essence of the character without being influenced by others. After all, I might encounter other Fools, and I won't know what they want until I know who they are. Sometimes, you simply like the appearance of a character, and sometimes, you just want to experience it for fun. I do that sometimes, too."

"And of course, there are those who play solely for the sake of gain or to be regarded in that way, hoping for unimaginable wealth, status, or power... Anyway, what I'm trying to convey is that in such an environment, who but myself can guarantee that I won't stray from my intended path and become a character in someone else's story? Nobody! That's why I have to tirelessly imagine and immerse myself in the act."

"No, I'm not denying it... It's truly addictive to me. The more I imagine, the more I get absorbed in those characters, the wonderful and tragic situations I create for them, and the emotions they experience in those circumstances..."

"Sure, I used to think about that kind of life... Joining a troupe, becoming an actor, traveling to unknown planets for performances, creating a character with my own name on it... But then, one day, I had a sudden realization!"

"If you want to perform, is there a stage more captivating than your own life?"

  1. so how good is sparkle in general now after her last (possibly) major update??

what is her place in meta and especially in harmony characters?(like how good she is in both categories)

I myself love her design and think she is really strong and my QQ and Seele and all FUA units (ratio and Jingyuan) will love her but I just wanna know others thoughts.

  2. Her E2 will be powerful especially when you use her with SW or Pela, quantum set, or whatever def down sauce, for example. SW and sps use the quantum set. def dow will be 53+24+20=97. it’s almost true dmg. and make your dps x 2.1xx increase dmg. For people who save for her E1S1 maybe you should consider her E2. E2S1 will fk good no need to say.

her Signature looks very tempting…. it’s like having an extra 4 star harmony in the team.

    • S1 is better than E1. It gives Sparkle herself 60 crit damage massively boosting her skill, allowing you to go for far more speed in the subs for a very fast Sparkle to drag your DPS along the turn order. As well as giving almost as much damage as E1 does. Sure E1 makes her ult have 100% up time, but at this point that’s the smaller of Sparkles buffs. The full team 10% crit rate is also invaluable.

At base Sparkle has 74% crit damage after traces, 60% from her LC and 64% from a crit damage top for a total of 198% crit damage. I’ll assume someone on your team has the 2/PC for 10% more crit damage so that puts her at 208 which means her skill already adds 95% crit damage. Sure you’d wanna go for even more, but with that much crit damage without any subs you’re far more free to go for speed subs. Without the LC, you’d probably solely focus on crit damage.

      • the wearer’s allies have their CRIT Rate increased by 10% and CRIT DMG increased by 28% > this part apply to the wearer as well? so it’s 32+28 = 60 crit dmg?
        that’s amazing.
I’m manage to get 161 speed relics somehow but bare minimum crit dmg so the LC should help a lot.

    • Wouldn’t call her a “Must pull.” but to me at least, she is the best buffer to date if only by a little E0 no LC. It’s not going to be anything much greater than an E6 Tingyun or your Bronya with LC, but it would be a slight improvement to Tingyun.

Her biggest thing is pretty much being a skill happy SP positive buffer with almost 100% up time.

If you have a mono quantum team, and it’s your main or 2nd team, she is almost surely a must pull however.

    • If you have or plan to have: Jingliu, Danheng:IL, “Yayi”(skill based dmg), or a mono quantum team she is a must have. she’s without a doubt the best dps buffer in the game, and as a bonus she can help with charas who devour skill points.

    • With the correct build, Sparkle can one-up Bronya and give the DPS three moves in the first cycle. Bronya can usually only give two (basic, skill, skill) due to SP limitations.

You need: 4pc-Wind set + Dance Dance Dance + 170 speed Sparkle

      Potentially very strong for 0-cycling.

    • At 300% crit damage it goes from 124 to 117, not much of a change esp with diminishing returns. As i will get E1 for sure for me at least it’s a buff due to the extra 15% attack.

But deng that E6 rework tho. So it makes every member have 54% of Sparkles crit damage + 45 right? That’s a team wide 207% crit damage buff at 300% crit damage. WILD!

It’s a shame the talent buff didn’t change much tho. Still 6%. :c Was hoping they’d make it a flat 10% so it would be 30% + 30% from ult.

Maybe not first run, maybe not rerun, but maybe by her 3rd run i could go for E6. E2 S1 first, E4 next, E6 the time after. Sounds like a plan. Esp if you plan to run multiple DPS. My SW is a DPS so for me it’s certainly an attractive concept.

          • Assuming Selee has 200% crit damage on her own, 30% from FX E1, 20% from allies’ relic sets, 72% from lc, selee has: 322% crit damage.

Sparkle has 300% crit damage. She used to grant 124% crit damage, she now grants 117% crit damage.

            You lose: 1 – ((117 + 322) / (124 + 322)) ≈ 1.57%

          • Seele does not want you to go for speed on Sparkle, due to the push strat that Seele has.

Sparkle > Seele Skill > Seele Normal > Sparkle.

This requires Seele to be around 34+ speed faster than Sparkle and to normal every unbuffed turn.

Speed for Sparkle sure matters more for the drag strat that i mentioned awhile ago for sure. Esp if you get her LC since just that along with a crit damage top gives more than enough for you to be happy really.

So honestly, Seele wants a slower Sparkle not a faster one. The 72% from LC only applies to ult, also due to all the crit damage buffs, you’d want to make sure to get to 100% crit chance before going for 200% crit damage at base. Just Imo.

  5. just realize all the accension materials for sparkle is new items that can’t even be prefarmed from now. jesus chr

  6. Should I pull her for Danny IL? Or should I skip sparkle and get a future fire or wind dps(I don’t have any fire or wind dmg, just break asta and normal dan heng).

If needed, here’s my built characters:
Sustain: HuoHuo, E1 Gepard(SigLC), E6 March, and Fuxuan
    Buffer: Ruan Mei(SigLC), E6 Yukong, and E3-4 Tingyun(I also have E6 Asta)
    Damage: Danheng:IL(SigLC), Danheng Wind(S5 Stellar Sea), Jingyuan(SigLC), E6 Hurt-a(himekoLC), E1 Clara(S5 Aeon), (I will get Yanqing soon-ish as a single-target IceDps to pair with Hurt-a’s AOE plus I have his sigLC)

    • If you want easy mode but don’t play follow up & dot you need Sparkle and Bronya. However if you have good rng luck with relic just use free unit is good enough. Fire unit just wait for Sam or another 2 fire unit. Get Jingliu instead of Yanqing or wait for upcoming Ice hunt or ice erudition unit. Skip wind unit for now there is no broken wind unit yet. And for free unit after 300 pull just get Bronya and make E1 is the best. And their is rumors about 5star selector after 1 year anniversary (for below 2.0 unit)

    • She will work fantastic for him to a point. Sparkle isn’t like some people were thinking before. She wants to skill every turn. The way her advance works means you pretty much need to skill on your DPS every single turn, not doing so will be too bad of a set back. However, she is still SP positive overall and allows for larger SP building. Sparkle is not Bronya and Bronya is not Sparkle. They may be simular but they work in a completely different way.

The best team Imo for DHIL rn with Sparkle would be.
      DHIL, Sparkle, Pela, FX.

This way you get the duo of Sparkle and FX to give so much free crit rate and crit damage if you have E1 FX with S1 Sparkle. While Pela can just normal unless you REALLY need her to get rid of an enemy buff, but most massive buffs cannot be removed anyway so be careful. E2 Sparkle will go very well with Pela too for 64% def red.

    • Reina has already answered about Sparkle. From my experience of using Yanqing I have many words to say. In one sentence, Yanqing is very difficult to build and play while he isn’t as rewarding as the difficulty to do so. I advice against picking him for the sole chance of free pick, unless you really like him and want to play with him.

If you need an Ice-type attacker that is single-target capable, you either wait for Jing Liu’s rerun, or use Misha instead, who should be available in Sparkle’s banner due to their synergy, but I make no guarantee for that estimation. Both are better and more rewarding options than Yanqing.

If you are about to get the free pick of 5-star character, I recommend Bronya above all else. You already have many powerful DPS and sustainers that Bronya is much more useful to you than Bailu, Welt, and Yanqing. However you can always choose whoever you like the most.

    • I say absolutely you should pull Sparkle, I’m a Dan IL main, and reading through her kit it makes me want to weep tears of joy. She gives crit dmg which is very valuable, she gives an action advance forward, and most importantly for Dan IL, SHE GIVES SO MANY SKILL POINTS. She literally just increases the skill point cap. With some speed tuning, you can do Sparkle skill, Ruan Mei skill/ult, Dan Ult then Fulgurant Leap. Then Sparkle’s ult whenever you need it. Then you can use Huo Huo or Fu Xuan for sustain.

    • I have E1 S1 Ruan Mei, E0 S1 Bronya, and Huo Huo as my current DHIL team. Should I replace Bronya or Mei with Sparkle? Would the team be SP negative, neutral, or positive? How much speed tuning would I have to do?

    • Fun fact, Sparkle isn’t her actual name. It’s Hanabi, which is the Japanese word for fireworks. Though it literally translates to “flower fire” since fireworks are just like flowers bursting in the sky. Language is fun
