n/a | A member of the Masked Fools. Inscrutable and unscrupulous. A dangerous maestro of theatrics, utterly engrossed in the art of performance. Adorned with innumerable masks, she is the hero with a thousand faces. Wealth, status, power... None of those matters to Sparkle. The only thing that can get her attention is "amusement." |
n/a | The girl, an abandoned orphan, lived without knowledge of her origins or destination until she encountered a passing troupe. From a distance, she watched a black-haired lady with a double ponytail, gracefully moving across the stage like a fish. Despite donning various masks, they did not hinder her laughs and cries during her performance, captivating the audience even from afar. The fish leaped in front of her, then dove back down, creating ripples in the surface of the water. Gradually, she realized she was watching the performance from beneath the stage. Intrigued, she continued to watch the performances for countless days, but she remained an audience member, never stepping into the spotlight. After one of the shows ended, she went backstage, where the black-haired lady handed her a mask. "Can I perform, too?" "Why not? If others believe you are 'Sparkle,' then you are. Go, it's time for your show." As the curtain, serving as the fourth wall, was drawn, the stage remained dimly lit, revealing an unsettling black void. Though wearing a mask, she knew the audience could see and hear her. She kept recalling Sparkle's performance, imitating her movements, voice, and demeanor. "You've done very well for your first time." "But my imitation... Was not perfect." "That is a minor hiccup, but not a problem as long as nobody notices the difference... By the way, we are leaving tomorrow, so for as long as you want, you are the true Sparkle here, and you can make her whoever you want her to be." Sparkle wanted to say something, but the lady affectionately rubbed her head. "Not many people come to see us, except for you. We're just a small troupe, and we don't have grand aspirations of becoming famous in the cosmos... It brings me joy to meet someone like you who will remember an insignificant character named Sparkle... Don't cry, you can keep this mask. Now it's yours." Sparkle nodded. "When you don this mask, you have the power to become anyone and no one... If you truly aspire to be an actor, don't limit yourself to this small stage. Set your sights on the larger world and explore new horizons." |
n/a | As the last descendant of the Puppet Clan, the girl lacked the freedom to choose. She was bound to live her life according to the dictates of the mask, as puppets were mere vessels for the masks. According to their legend, the longer a puppet dons a mask, the higher the chances of the puppet acquiring a soul, resembling a true human. However, in human folklore, masks were depicted as tools used for resurrecting the deceased, thus leading to the dwindling numbers of her people. However, as she had no interest in becoming human, being a doll was not an unfavorable choice for her. She dutifully obeyed the commands of the mask, despite the risk of attracting pursuers, as defying the mask proved to be challenging. Movement was a crucial aspect. By the will of the mask, she needed to smile sweetly when happy, hold her forehead while crying, grit her teeth when angry, narrow her eyes when jealous, and make a scene when in despair. There were also signature gestures, such as raising her eyebrows slightly to face others with the left side of her face, and raising her hand to express love, although she had to lower it later, as slightly biting her lower lip was the way to convey her true desires. Voice was another aspect. Depending on the situation, her voice needed to be cheerful when happy, mellifluous when expressing lyrical emotions, calm and assertive when making statements, strained when harboring hatred, and sorrowful when filled with grief. Remarkably, she managed to sustain this way of life for years, seamlessly blending into her surroundings and even becoming a playwright. Nobody ever suspected that she wore a mask. However, she couldn't help but wonder if there existed another type of "mask" in the world — perhaps someone wearing such a mask would laugh when seeking revenge, shed tears when smiling, remain silent when raging... And speak the most sarcastic remarks with the utmost calmness. Naturally, she couldn't do this due to the will of the mask, but as a playwright, making her characters on stage act like this was easy for her. One morning, the doorbell rang, but it wasn't her usual delivery person at the door. "Dear Miss Sparkle, I wonder if we could have a chat?" "We have read your latest work, and we're curious if you know anything about the 'Mask'..." |
n/a | The faceless girl realized that she must be under some kind of curse. Why else couldn't she feel any stimuli? Her sense of pain, taste, and smell were all intact, yet she was unable to react to them. Naturally, she couldn't experience joy, anger, sadness, or a range of emotions. She could only strive to observe others' reactions in various situations to understand their feelings. "...How would you feel if you were drinking a cup of bitter tea? How would you drink it?" Although tied to the chair and immobilized, the homeless man on the left made an appreciative gesture and nodded. The girl in the middle immediately cried and shook her head in denial, while the madam on the right wrinkled her nose in disgust. "What if you were in an extremely cold hut, with only this cup of tea at hand?" Naturally, the man nodded. The girl cried for a while and then reluctantly accepted, while the lady still reacted in disgust. She continued to change her scenarios and ask questions day and night until her interviewees passed out. She would send them home and seek out new targets for her "interviews." During that time, the town's inhabitants all had the same nightmare. They found themselves trapped in a place where a blurred-faced young girl politely asked them questions, and they had no choice but to answer. They could only provide responses repeatedly until the young girl meticulously recorded every detail on paper masks, one after another. Whenever a mask was filled, it was replaced by another. This nightmare was soon replaced by another, as residents claimed to see paper masks flying through the air in the middle of the night. The masks would talk to each other, faintly glowing before eventually fading out, resembling sparklers in the night sky. They appeared every night, as if they were residents living in the shadow of the town. In a dark basement, a young lady remained unaware of this nightmare. She had gathered enough information about people's nuanced emotions and their perceptions of different things... To make more paper masks. She firmly believed that although she possessed no emotions, the masks she created had flesh and blood. She even believed that one day, they would become real beings. |
n/a | "There are a few versions that are particularly popular." When Sparkle arrived at Fool's Tavern, she admitted her deeds. "Liking and believing are two different things, but people are more likely to believe in their favorite stories." "Lies? Come on, I'm not trying to tell a grand story or fabricate an eye-catching experience... I'm wholeheartedly exercising my imagination for my own sake. I imagine various lives, seek excitement, and then recreate them as best I can, and pump the brakes on my imaginative balloon just a second before it bursts." "Seriously, having a script is far from enough. First and foremost, I must wholeheartedly believe that the character I'm portraying truly exists. Then, I need to imagine the other stories where the character would appear. I always need extra information to make their motivation logical and emotional." "And only then will I feel I can grasp the essence of the character without being influenced by others. After all, I might encounter other Fools, and I won't know what they want until I know who they are. Sometimes, you simply like the appearance of a character, and sometimes, you just want to experience it for fun. I do that sometimes, too." "And of course, there are those who play solely for the sake of gain or to be regarded in that way, hoping for unimaginable wealth, status, or power... Anyway, what I'm trying to convey is that in such an environment, who but myself can guarantee that I won't stray from my intended path and become a character in someone else's story? Nobody! That's why I have to tirelessly imagine and immerse myself in the act." "No, I'm not denying it... It's truly addictive to me. The more I imagine, the more I get absorbed in those characters, the wonderful and tragic situations I create for them, and the emotions they experience in those circumstances..." "Sure, I used to think about that kind of life... Joining a troupe, becoming an actor, traveling to unknown planets for performances, creating a character with my own name on it... But then, one day, I had a sudden realization!" "If you want to perform, is there a stage more captivating than your own life?" |

What is best set for Sparkle Eagle or Massenger?
I think Messenger, because you’ll most likely spam her skill most of the time
So to my understanding of Sparkle’s E and her Traces. It’s not gonna work like Bronya’s E6, right? Meaning it still lasts for only a turn if the DPS does not have any other reliable source of dmg outside of their turn. For example, Dan Heng IL only has his basic Atk as the reliable source of dmg, so the buff can only last a turn, and not for the next of Dan Heng’s turn, right?
I was hoping that it would work like that, considering how she can provide reliable permanent buffs, a consistent buff of above 100% Crit dmg only at a cost of a neutral SP cycle (E – Q) can really make her a truly top tier buffer.
Kinda sad how it’s not gonna work like that, tho she can keep her buff up like almost full time, 3 E / Q and ER rope into an easy 3 turn ult can be very good tho, keeping her on the positive SP side.
The A4 trace means the buff lasts virtually 1.99999999 turns. It doesn’t last until the target’s next action. It lasts before that point.
The trace only serves characters who do damage outside of their turns that can crit. Most obviously, jing yuan, topaz and clara. Other characters make next to no use of this trace.
Recently got an E1 Ruan Mei. Can anyone tell me if I made the wrong choice? Sparkle seems to be stronger, am I right?
I got E1 ruan mei too and I will have both her and sparkle. No need to be anxious, every character will have a rerun.
stronger for buffing single unit yes but rm increase overall team dmg. Dont forget she only buff CDMG so shes useless for DoT team
E1 Ruan Mei is never a wrong choice. You still need 2 teams for MoC/Pure Fiction, and Sparkle doesn’t even make Bronya obsolete. Ruan Mei Bronya teams are busted and Bronya has a 100% forward where as Sparkle only has 50% per skill
V3 changes are here!
Tech now gives 3 SP at the start of battle instead of 1 SP.
Sparkles trace that give 5% crit rate and 30% quantum damage has been changed to 15% attack and 30% attack for quantum chars.
The trace that makes her skill last until the start of the allies 2nd turn has been reworded to reflect that. No more mistakes.
Her E1 has been changed from 12% speed to 25% more attack. The ult lasting 1 extra turn has remained the same.
Her E2 no longer increases her talent stacks, and instead just gives def ignore at 8% per stack rather than 3% per stack. For a total of 24%.
Her E6 has been changed from 40% team crit damage when an ally has her buff skill. To 20% crit damage for all allies with the ult buff Cipher. Overall weaker but more consistent up time? Idk i felt it needed to be stronger myself.
Before
48% damage bonus / 78% damage bonus for quantum.
E2
64% damage bonus / 94% damage bonus for quantum & 12% def ignore.
After
48% damage bonus & 15% attack bonus / 45% attack bonus for quantum.
E2
48% damage bonus & 40% attack bonus / 70% attack bonus for quantum & 24% def ignore.
Idk which is stronger for none quantum teams, i’d have to redo calcs, however it looks as if it could be overall stronger? For qauntum teams that are already heavily stacked with damage bonus, the attack bonus is HUGE however and easily makes Sparkle even better than she was before.
No Skill, Ultimate or Talent changes as of yet to the best of my knowledge, could still happen in V4. They may be seeing how the current changes play out before deploying their planned changes to the levelling abilities.
Sorry if any of these turn out to be incorrect. Lets hope not. @_@
honestly i don’t like the changes
changing mono quantum traces from Quantum DMG to ATK alone already makes FuXuan with crit build like me sees it as nerf (FX scale from HP not ATK btw)
and i rather have E1 with SPD instead of ATK because when you run mono quantum setup, that ATK only benefit SilverWolf and main carry. while FX and Hanabi are not.
wait the part of she gives atk for quantum chars its correct? bc i saw another thing that only changes quantum dmg to atk but never said this buff was specific for quantum chars.
Sadly it is quantum chars only.
Lets work out how much she gives now. Assuming a 3000 attack char with 1250 base, 150% crit damage and 100% damage bonus.
15% att, 48% damage bonus and assuming Sparkle has 250 crit damage (Can easily be 300.) she gives 106% crit damage bonus.
3000 + 15% attack = 3188. Total buff = 6.3%.
150% crit damage + 106 = 256% crit damage. Total buff = 42%
100 damage + 48 = =148. Total buff = 24%
All 3 stacked together gives a grand total of 1.87x buff at E0 no LC. Her LC will add 24% extra crit damage to the calc. So her 106 buff changes to a 130 buff.
150% crit damage + 130 = 280% crit damage. Total buff = 52%
All 3 stacked together gives a grand total of 2x buff at E0/S1.
Her 30% for quantum chars would add another 30% attack, which would be 3x the original buff. 6.3% x 3 = 18.9% buff.
All 3 stacked together gives a grand total of 2.24x buff for quantum chars.
Tl;dr. E0 no LC Sparkle gives 1.87x buff, E0/S1 gives a 2x buff and E0/S1 gives 2.24x for quantum.
Now for E1 + E2 for a quantum team. The old E2 was a 2.7x buff. Sorry for none quantum team users, but if you really want to know you can just take whatever buff quantum has over E0/S1 and make it a bit bigger. Since going from 15% attack to 40% is bigger than going from 45% attack to 70%.
E1 would make the 18.9% atk buff from E0 go to 29.2x buff.
E2 gives pure def ignore now, which makes it easy. As def ignore is the biggest buff in the game, we can add a minimum of 24% damage bonus from this Eidolon. It’s honestly probably higher.
E1/S1 would give a total buff of 2.44x as well as making the ult go from 66% up time to 100% up time.
E2/S1 would give a total buff of 3.01x to quantum chars. Compared to the 2.7x pre change.
Tl;dr E1 is a 2.44x buff and E2 is a 3.01x for quantum teams. Compared to 2.34x that Bronya gives at E0/S1 and 2.5x that RM gives at E2/S1.
Would you recommend E1S0 or E0S1 for non-quantum team? I’m at an impasse over which to pick. Roughly 60 CV is huge, but the QOL of 100% ult uptime cannot be ignored either. 25% ATK is roughly 8 substat rolls. Unfortunately I will not be rolling for her E2, in 2.0 or in reruns, so it’s just a flat comparison between E1 and LC for me. ;_;
Idk tbh, it would have to be up to you to decide. They both give a simular level buff overall. But one gives 10% team crit rate, and the other gives 100% ult up time. They are both too good to ignore. Which is why i’ll be getting both.
how many changes they usually does? V4 is the last ? or even higher?
as always Admin slow as usual 🙁
nice info @Reina
As far as i know the V4 is the last one before release that we will know about, but they can do last minute changes that we only find out about once we get the characters in game.
Mhm, it is here. her role as a multi-purpose harmony remained true and overall better, she looking to be in a great spot right now with the addition of 3 free SP from technique, 24% def ignore having a minimum boost of around 13% damage up, but still nice.
Also her E6 still weird.. as always…. even Fu Xuan’s E1 can do better than that, would it be like 20% more final damage when crit hit and that would be reasonable?
In cases like these it’s probably better to just simulate a character…
Anyway regarding the Def Ignore, against a Lvl 90 enemy, the Def Multiplier is 0.4762. If you throw in that 24% Ignore, that goes up to 0.5447. That’s about a ~14.38% or so damage increase compared to not having any Def-related effects.
I did simulate a character. “Assuming a 3000 attack char with 1250 base, 150% crit damage and 100% damage bonus.”
I’ve heard def ignore is the best stat in the game, which includes res decrease which is literally a minimum of 1% damage buff per 1% res decrease and every time i hear about Pela ppl normally give her a way higher multiplier than that. :hmm: Weird.
Defense ignore gets better the more you stack it. It’s only at 100% effectiveness at 100% shred. At lower levels like 10%, 20%, it’s not nearly as impactful. That’s why you want multiple sources of defense ignore to stack to crazy high levels.
20% res penetration is much better than 20% defense ignore in a vacuum.
Yea you’re right. Ty for the info. I’ve read after the first 50% THEN it turns into a stat to stat basis until you get it even higher. Overall SW + Quantum set + Sparkle would now give 97% which is HUGE! So close to that 100% number.
Oh, I meant it in a more thorough way — accounting for a specific character’s kit and equipment, allocating substats, and so on, even combat simulation if you want to go that far. I have my own sheets but nowhere near the level of spreadsheet wizardry you’d see from others out there though.
Manipulating Def and Res is good because there’s only so many ways to do it, similar to Dmg Amp (Vulnerability etc.), and that because each of these are their own multiplier (factor) in the equation.
To break those down you have: Skill Multiplier, Attack, Dmg%, Crit Dmg, Def, Res, Amplification, and Toughness.
Going back to Def multiplier, in a way it’s also the level diff multiplier since the level diff between character and enemy is factored in the Def multiplier. At equal levels, you effectively deal half of your raw damage, but I normally compute enemies as being Lvl 90, hence the multiplier going down to 0.4762, less than half damage.
— To give an example, Pela with a Lvl 10 Ult (-40% Def) raises the Def multiplier above (vs Lvl 90 enemy) from 0.4762 to 0.6024. Divide the latter from the former, and you get 1.265… so roughly a 26.5% damage increase relative to your previous state without it.
A better claim towards the whole 1:1 thing is probably Amplification and Res.
— Amplification is a direct increase. A 21% Dmg Amp (3-stack Lvl 10 Firekiss) is 1.21x
— Now for Res, against an enemy neutral to your Element, they have 20% Res so you’re dealing 0.8x your damage. If you have a 20% Res debuff/pen, your multiplier is now 1.0 and dividing it by 0.8, you get a 1.25x increase.
— Just to give another example, SW’s Skill actually applies another -10% Res on top of the Weakness imbued. 1.1/0.8 would be a 1.375x increase.
Taking into account your given values (skipped Res and Toughness mults here for convenience):
– 106% CDmg from 250% CDmg Sparkle
– 48% Dmg from Talent+Cypher (btw, does Sparkle not receive Cypher herself? it would be 58% if she’s counted too, no?)
– 32% Dmg from Past and Future S5 (PaF)
– 144.4% CDmg from S1 sig LC (120.4 + 24)

Yea i see what you mean. But i really wanted to keep it as simple as possible so most people would read it. If ppl see just a bunch of numbers back to back they will just skip it all. But yea i see what you mean overall.
As for Cipher, i’ve not been able to confirm this myself but people checked and the number was 48%. Apparently the ult works on the number of stacks you have x10% for every member with Cipher. Not for how many people have Cipher. I really want to know why the talent/ult didn’t change description to simplify it. Something tells me something is coming in V4.
By these numbers PaF is better than her Signature light cone? Doesnt make sense
@ikidakimasu
PaF will only be better if your DPS acts right after Sparkle and only for that 1 skill. Sparkles LC buffs the entire team, also this calc does not take into effect the extra 10% crit chance. That crit chance boost will allow you to switch around your relics for a better crit ratio overall creating a stronger base DPS to multiply from. Sparkles sig LC is defiantly 100% better overall.
Damn I had hope her Bonus trace means her buff last until her next turn so I could abuse Jingliu transform better, still going to try getting her E0 tho, S1 gonna need rerun unless I get lucky :3. Well if all fail I will get Black Swan to give Kafka more chance to be use
Her old E6 was also affecting allies with the cipher buff, not the skill buff.
The new one is not well translated.
The translation should read: “The skill’s critical damage increase effect is additionally boosted by a value equal to 20% of Sparkle’s critical damage, and the skill’s critical damage increase effect is applied to all teammates with Cipher.”
In essence, if Sparkle has more than 200 critical damage (which is not hard to achieve), it’s a buff.
I see. Translations cause so many problems. I’d like to know where you got this info from though to confirm?
The description in simp Chinese is:
战技的暴击伤害提高效果额外提高,
提高数值等同于花火暴击伤害的20%,
并且战技的暴击伤害提高效果对持有【谜诡】的队友都会生效。
Which roughly translates into:
The crit damage increment effect of skill is increased further,
the increment is equal to 20% of sparkle’s crit damage,
and also the crit damage increment effect of the skill affects all teammates with Cipher.
I see thanks.
Is that a stigmata on her back? E1 art
Note that the A6 attack bonus still only work to Quantum characters, I forgot to note that in the last comment.
V3 changes:
A4:
until the start of this unit’s next turn -> until the start of the target’s next turn
(only description changes)
A6:
5% crit rate -> 15 attack;
5%/15%/30% quantum damage -> 5%/15%/30% attack.
E1:
12% speed -> 25% attack
E2:
Does not affect talent maximum stack any more.
Ignore 3% defense -> 8% defense
E6:
Skill grants Crit Damage +40% -> + 20% of Sparkle’s Crit Damage
to those confused as i am the closest character that do 50% Action Advance(AV) is Topaz with Numby.
Her play style i think should utilize all the AV for bigger value so the best option is to have a slow Carry to buff and a sparkle double the speed of said slow carry.
The problem with -1 play style with her is that she doesnt “Lock” herself with the Carry Unlike bronya who whenever she skill will cause carry and herself have 0 AV, sparkle cant do that.
I like her kit now. I hope they don’t change much. maybe balance the 3rd trace. ex: Crit Rate from 5 to 10 then dmg bonus for quantum down to 0/5/20. just a little bit. make it a very small thing to consider when other team elements pick her.
They changed the description of her normal and skill. Making me think they are the only things remaining the game. As they never touched the harder to read descriptions that people are getting wrong. Her ult, talent, tech, traces and Eidolons are all on the chopping block rn. That’s why people have stopped talking about her because we all know it’s coming. Just gotta wait and see what they do.
some people say that her advance is not as good as bronya’s , but in some leaked gameplay I noticed that the dps seems to always act right after sprakle , I’m confused
also would she be a good user of “past and future LC” ?
Her advance is very good for push and pull gameplay. The only time you won’t really get an automatically next turn is if your DPS acts right before Sparkle but at the same time it would push them right up the advance ladder, I’d advice a pull strategy myself where you keep your DPS at 0 speed bonus and use Sparkle to pull them through the turns with her 161+ speed. Having a DPS near but slower than her own speed is going to make her advance almost useless outside of mitigating disruption.
Only Seele would prefer the push strategy Imo, but if you get her E2 and such it’s almost a given that you can get 2 turns for every Sparkle turn. Though i’d honestly use the unbuffed turn to normal attack rather than skill, get even more advance to try and make sure you get the 2 turns and gain an SP back to make Seele SP neutral.
