  1. I think people focus too much on the buffs and ignore what is probably the two most important part of her kit: the additional damage and the action forward.
The additional damage is simple to explain, 10k damage is 10% damage increase if your dps does 100k per attack, 20% if your damage dealer does 50k but what’s important ls that it allows your support characters to do some damage by throwing attacks that otherwise wouldn’t do too much, like basic attacks, obviously better for fua teams but lets not pretend this isn’t good for normal teams that attack 7-8 times in 2 turn rotation.
The teamwide action forward, is much harder to judge but imo, is up there with the additional damage. You may say that other characters have action forward but other character action forward have limitations. Bronya, SP hungry, Sparkle, its only 50%, basically an atk % buff because you replace your boots, both of these are single target so your rotation for everyone else remains the same,.
Robin’s action forward biggest limitation is that it doesn’t happen too often but i think its enough that it happens at all, in first waves, acting one turn earlier than the enemy can practically determine the outcome of the battle, in 2 turns you can break the enemy, delay them, burst them, fill your supports ults, etc, which many characters are very capable of doing, the most optimal teams don’t even require a sustain, now with robin its 1 turn less of needing sustain or skipping boss mechanics.
If your characters are strong enough Robin – Ruan Mei – Buffer/Sub DPS – DPS may actually be all that you need.

    • I definitely want and can abuse the All allies advanced forward skill of her.

You can do more damage ofc, and you can also prevent death by cut enemies turn because it ties with her ultimate which mean you can activate it anytime when her charge is full

    • I find it weird that no one is talking about pairing her together with Clara, March 7th, and Lynx. Calling it a “Counter Team” built around get the most out of Robin’s Ultimate. Clara’s Counter + March’s Shield Counter + Lynx healing Clara so enemies are more likely to attack Clara + Robin’s Ultimate state. Meaning not only would you get extra attacks from Robin on your Character’s turn, but also the enemies turn. If you E6 Robin then those first 6 hits go from a set Crit. Dmg. of 150 to 350 providing a ton of damage in a pretty short time span. Though I could be wrong. If it does work, you could call it the “Round Robin” cause its a team built “around Robin” for the sake of maximizing the amount of attacks she can perform while in her Ultimate state.

      • But why would you want that though?

if you pair her with March 7, you’re not gonna need Lynx, that’s just a waste slot, Clara can aggro just fine. besides… a Clara that was buffed by Robin would hit like a truck, and will definitely wipe off mob monster in like 2 ~ 3 counter, I’d rather use topaz or Ratio that can consistently hit at least 2 times in a single turn

  3. Correct me if im wrong. After reading her kit she is a really good DMG and ATk buffer no matter what team you are using. but to make most of her Ultimate is by using characters with multiple attacks per turn like FUA characters.

But ignoring the FUA extra ER. her buff kit is really universal like Ruan Mei just that Ruan Mei has delay gimmick where as Robin is pure DMG/ATK Buff.

As a generalist buffer, I’d still pick Ruan Mei because their general buffs:
Robin: 50% dmg bonus, 20% crit dmg, 1000+ atk in ult
Ruan mei: 68% dmg bonus, 10% spd, 50% break efficiency, 25% res pen and break extension in ult

      • You also have to take into account the extra turn damage she will give to 2 DPS units though. Plus for non FUA DPS’ I believe she will get 4 attacks of her own in which could be more damage than Ruan Mei’s personal damage (maybe). I think you could actually run her 1 speed behind your DPS units similar to Bronya and give them an additional turn when Ult is ready. Or maybe there is some sketchy speed tuning you could do to have her be way faster but her Ult would align with her being about to lap your DPS’ on the action order. I just see Ruan Mei as a DoT/break team specialist who is also very good at supporting dual DPS teams, but I think Robin will take the throne as the premier dual DPS support.

    • Yep, agreed. Good point on the FUA synergy… FUA comps are eating huge now. Aventurine/Robin/Topaz/(Any follow up DPS) is going to go absolutely crazy. Dual DPS comps will also benefit from Robin big time I think, but even in hypercarry she is probably still strong (jus not her specialty). She will be pretty universal. They just keep releasing busted Harmonies, but I can’t say they don’t look fun to use.

        • I would save for Ruan Mei regardless, yes Robin is good but I think overall Ruan mei is far more flexible since you can basically put her in any team and is far easier to build than what i’d assume would be tuning Robin effectively (plus with Harmony TBs kit being as they are, Break Effect AND Break Efficiency will be super good to have and no Harmony is best suited for that than Ruan Mei)

          • agree with most, but robin doesnt need tuning as the action advance is an ultimate, not a skill, you can use it whenever it would fit best. besides it would be a pain tuning her given her spd changes from wtv to 90 every time she uses her ult

  4. dunno what v2 gonna change but will start prefarm some of her stuff

which sets can maximize her additional DMG?
    – 24% ATK double set (Muskeeter + Prisoner)
    or
    – 10% Physical + 12% ATK (Champion + Muskeeter/Prisoner)

Planar set easily SSS set? will cope spd sub stat to get 121 spd with ATK% Feet if possible. E1 SPD buff probably won’t affect on herself because she is unable to do anything during ultimate cycle to gain the buff.

SSS will be good… but I think Broken Keel will still be superior unless her personal damage is bonkers. I assume you will still focus on boosting the damage of your 2 DPS units, and 10% crit damage to 2 DPS is prob better than SSS marginal bonus to her attack buff for them. No way am I farming SSS again for her anyway.

  5. Extra things i noticed from Robin showcases with Pela

    1. Robin dmg DOES increase when the enemy is Def Shredded.
    2. Comparing Ratio + Pela vs Ratio + Topaz (E0S0), Topaz is better by only a slight margin. This comes to a few factors:

Topaz at E0S0 doesnt provide enough debuffs to take advantage of Ratio trace

Despite Topaz being able to hit more times than Pela, Pela has the afromentioned Def Shred that does increase Robins Dmg.

Pela AOE Shred is better for Ratios playstyle of splitting dmg between two elites (Use skill on one enemy while ulting the other). With Topaz you wanna focus fire one enemy quickly (This also applies to Silverwolf teams).

Topaz is better if she has either Eidolon or LC, but it means for F2Ps you have a very strong team build already

which is Ratio + Pela + Robin + Sustain with multiple attacks(Aventurine/Gallagher)

  6. i wanna ask if she be a good support for a dot team with kafka and black swan because of the attack bonus damage bonus and advance forward which is really good on kafka the knly thing that wont work is the ult uptime on robin bc no fua and i dont know if hou hou will be enough to help and the crit damage bonus is worthless

it is just a thought robin will work better on fua teams that dot

    • i’ve thought about this and she could work in a dot team, but she will not be the most optimal. kafka has a FUA which allow robin to gain some energy but if you’re running black swan + huohuo then it’ll be trickier to get ult up then a FUA team. she also gets outclassed by other harmony units, specially ruan mei. she’ll probably provide higher dmg compared to asta, but asta is also free and robin is not.

Other than advance forward, everything Robin does in her kit applies to herself as well.

  7. So some things i noticed after watching Robin showcases with the FUA team

    1. Her damage DOES increase if the enemy has “increase Crit Dmg taken” debuff, currently you can get that from Aventurine and Topaz Signature LC

    2. If you have 134 Spd, you still have enough to get a 2nd turn after the initial advance forward, which is huge. People will probably theorycraft how much spd will you need to get a 3rd turn (Prob needs Robin E1)

    3. If you clear the wave BEFORE Robins ult expires, it DOES get carried to the next wave

    4. Robin can still be hit while in her Ultimate state, meaning its better to put her in the middle + next to the teams preservation character so she can get hit to get energy.

    5. FUA team of Ratio, Topaz, and Aventurine can hit around 17-19 times, meaning to roughly calculate how much dmg Robin does on her own, just take that number then times by the dmg she deals (17 × 10000 = 170.000). The amount of dmg she deals per hit will also vary depending on her investment and the team, so the 10000 per hit can be higher.

    • Too bad Aventurine was sandwiched between many good/wanted characters, now acheron, next Robin and later on Sam.
Only a few people will roll for him, mainly people who want to roll for meta, don’t have a sustain or simply have enough rolls and like him
So for most people who won’t have aventurine, that ideal comp won’t work.
However, without adventurine, robin will probably ditch out 13+ additional attacks, which is not too bad.

    • Unless my knowledge is off to have a DPS get 3 turns during her Ult I think they would need to be at 180 speed (double the speed of the ULT progression). So…. that’s not happening without E1. Even with E1 your DPS will have to be built super fast (like almost 160 speed since average speed boost over 2 turns would be 22.5%?). It’s doable, but I fail to see the practicality and usefulness of her E1 since building a DPS to that high speed is not realistic without sacrificing tons of damage. I must be missing something. Either that or we will get faster DPS units in the future, or you are meant to use her with units that can get to breakneck speeds like Seele or Sushang. IDK.

      • note that hitting with your ult builds a stack, so you can get the full speed immediately if your characters (other than Topaz) have full energy when Robin uses her ult.
