n/a가련하고 연약한 여우족 꼬마 아가씨는 요괴를 무서워하지만, 요괴를 잡는 나부 시왕사의 견습 판관이다.
「꼬리」로 불리는 세양은 시왕사의 판관에 의해 그녀의 날렵한 꼬리에 봉인되었고, 그로 인해 그녀는 사악한 기운을 부르는 「불운의 명」이 되었다.
요괴를 두려워하지만, 항상 요괴를 잡으라는 명령을 받고 험난한 요괴 퇴치 임무를 완수한다.
자신의 능력이 부족하다고 생각하지만 사직할 용기가 없어서 묵묵히 벌벌 떨면서 일을 계속하고 있다.
n/a의식을 잃었다 깨어난 곽향이 처음 시왕사로 끌려갔을 때, 시왕사의 모든 것은 신기한 게 아니라 오싹하고 공포스러웠다.

백발의 판관은 여자아이의 불안을 눈치채고 최대한 부드러운 말투로 물었다.

「꼬마 아가씨, 어쩌다가 『그 불덩어리』와 마주치게 된 거니?」
「…그게 외로이 길가에 떨어져 막 꺼지려는 거예요. 저… 저는 도와주고 싶었어요. 제가 기억하는 건 이게 전부예요」
「그래서 『그 불덩어리』를 꼬리에 둔 거니? 어째서?」
「저, 저도 몰라요. 정신을 차리고 보니 이렇게 돼 있더라고요…. 죄송해요」
「착한 아이구나, 사과할 필요는 없단다…. 하지만 넌 오늘부터 우리의 보살핌을 받아야 해」

한아라는 이름의 판관은 며칠 전 일을 떠올렸다——

시왕사에 들어 온 구조 요청에 그녀는 명을 받고 나가, 세양에 막 먹히려던 참인 여우족 소녀를 발견했다. 한아가 보니 소녀는 어리고 연약한 데다가 세양도 보통이 아니었다. 무리해서 제거하려다가는 소녀의 목숨이 위태로울 것이 뻔했다. 급한 나머지 한아는 부적을 써서 세양을 여우족 소녀의 꼬리에 가두었다. 세양이 소녀의 꼬리부터 삼키려 한 게 그나마 다행이었다.

「…이게 맞는 걸까?」
판관은 중얼거렸다.

「부적을 떼어내버려!」
「안 돼요. 한아 님이 떼지 말라고 했어요……」
「저것들이 감히 이 몸을 놀리는 소리를 들었잖아! 이런 굴욕은 처음이라고」
「…저들이 놀리는 건… 저예요……」
「그럼 네가 가서 처리해. 내 수모를 갚지 못하면 날 보러 올 생각도 하지 마」
「하, 하지만, 전 못 해요」
「휴, 이렇게 해. 심호흡을 하고 머리를 비워. 아무 생각도 하지 마. 내가 해결할게」

…소녀가 정신을 차렸을 때는 「악귀가 붙은 마녀」라는 소문이 쫙 퍼져 있었다.

그 후 곽향은 세양의 과거에 대해 많이 알아봤다. 얼마나 오래전인지 알 수 없지만 「요원(燎原)」이라고 불리던 세양은 나부 장군에게 패한 후 여러 영혼 조각으로 나뉘어 창조 용광로에 봉인되었다. 이때 빠져나간 세양은 「요원의 고고함」이고, 누구에게도 들러붙지 않고 오랫동안 떠돌아다니며 몸을 숨기다가… 숨이 다하기 직전 곽향이 그를 주운 것이다.

「사람들의 이목을 끌지 않도록 『꼬리』라고 부를게요…」
세양은 대답하지 않았지만 이를 받아들인 듯했다.

명관 일에 점점 익숙해지면서 곽향은 시왕사에서 기록한 각종 「요물」들을 파악하기 시작했다.

「설의 님, 지, 지난번에 준비한 부적은 잘 듣나요?」
「좋아. 우주 심령체에 대응하기 충분해」
「헤헤… 다행이네요. 효과가 어떨지는 몰라서……」
「직접 해볼래?」
「아니요. 저는 무서워서……」
「곽향, 『요물』이란 대부분 외계 생물이나 모종의 형태로 존재하는 해로운 지적 생명에 불과해」
「설의 님, 그건 알지만 그래도 무서워요. 전 이 일에 안 맞는 것 같아요……」

곽향은 겁 많은 자신의 모습이 마음에 들지 않아서 「요물」을 이겨낼 용기를 키우려고 노력하기도 했다.

밤새 공포희극을 보며 담력을 키우려고 했지만, 다크서클만 얻었다. 전투력을 올리기 위해 새로운 과학 퇴마 도구를 구입하기도 했지만, 지갑만 얇아졌다. 꼬리는 헛수고라고 비웃으며 온갖 수작을 부려 일을 더 꼬이게 만들었다.

「제일 무서운 건 역시 꼬리예요……」
하지만 설의가 보기에 곽향은 이미 꼬리를 「두려워」하지 않았다

n/a꼬리도 처음엔 다른 세양과 마찬가지로 곽향을 「먹어 치우려」했고, 그녀에게 붙어 이름과 신분을 빼앗아 그녀의 욕망과 감정을 누리려고 했다.

그러나 꼬리는 곽향이 곤경에 처한 모습을 보는 것도 꽤 재밌다는 생각이 들었다. 어차피 언젠가 먹어 치울 테니 당장 급할 건 없었다.

「꼬리님! 구해주세요!」
「나랑 상관없는 일이야. 그때 뭐라고 했더라…. 그래, 『홀로서기』해야지. 지금 기회가 왔잖아?」
「다음에는 혼자 처리할 테니 지금은 좀 구해주세요!」
「먼저 말해두는데 네가 죽으면 이 몸이 자유를 얻는다고. 하지만… 난 뭔가를 시작하면 끝장을 보거든. 널 먹어 치우기 전에는 떠날 생각 없어」
「넌 시왕사 판관씩이나 돼서 요물들이 선주를 마구 헤집어 놓게 놔두다니, 너무 무책임하잖아…. 야! 뭐 하는 짓들이야? 이 조무래기들아, 이 녀석은 나만 괴롭힐 수 있다고」

「제대로 뒤엎어 주지!」


꼬리에 빙의된 후부터 마치 꿀에 나비가 모이고 촛불에 불나방이 몰려드는 것처럼, 곽향에게 온갖 요물들이 꼬였다.

곽향은 항상 이 「불운의 명」이 꼬리와 떼려야 뗄 수 없는 관계라고 불평했고, 꼬리는 곽향과 만난 게 불운이라고 여겼다. 하지만 오랜 시간이 지나고 꼬리는 곽향이 난처할 때면 그녀를 도와주게 되었다. 그러나 그는 여전히 그것이 우정임을 인정하지 않고 있다.

「시왕의 명을 받들라. 명관 곽향은 기량이 출중하고 성실하여 임무를 수행할 자질이 충분하니, 오늘부로 판관으로 임명한다」
시왕사에서 그녀의 승진 명령을 내렸고, 이때부터 곽향의 견습 판관 생활이 시작되었다.

    • Highly arguable, for mediocore accounts I would say Luocha will almost always be better since his healing and Sp generation really adds up when you can’t clear super fast.
      Huo Huo also doesn’t work super well with certain units, but she has certain combos that she works wonders with, which truly make her an insane character.
      So for good accounts that have those units and can clear fast enough to make her spend less Sp on healing, she is absolutely better than Luocha in pretty much every way 🙂

      • LOL nah fam, the ones who is coping rn is you huo2 or “anything that has female gender on it” worshipper. luocha is still a top pick on moc and any other contents for sustainer unit, fuxuan probably is 2nd close to him. no way this mid healer can surpass luocha. even lynx or any other healers can do the job almost the same as her, even better. stay coping stay dreaming ur loli being mid

          Accept it, he isn’t great. Lots of people skipped him because people know he won’t last long. He was only good when we only have Natasha. Lots of people who have Gepard and Bailu no longer pulled for him since. That’s why his revenue was very low. Now, the more sustain we get, the further and further he gets left out.

          You can cope by crying hard, but I suggest you just close your eyes and cover your ears. Things will hurt more lmao

            But yeah, one day, a 200% Sp-positive sustainer, with twice as much healing, and insane buffs, all in one character, will be released. And a DPS dealing 4000% atk as AoE on every single auto-attack. So why pull now? That’s why I’ve personally vowed to never pull any character until the game is at least 5 years old, because everything until then will just be powercrept. A very smart decision, I know I know, no need to clap.

      • Huohuo is not universally the best healer but she suits certain teams extremely well
        Meanwhile Luocha is the best general use healer but doesn’t have some of the synergies that Huohuo does
        As someone who owns Kafka Jingliu and Blade I’d take Huohuo over Luocha every time

    • Even her technique count as a debuff to quicken Dr. Ratio engine right at the start.
      If your account is mediocore, going in circle by chasing non offensive healer will only take longer for your account to finally get decent. it’s Fu Xuan that enable Zhongli no have to dodge more dps (with her imprison block) play style or Huohuo that’s both buff and amazing cleanse to team

Looking, at my current teams, Fu xuan is more or less the only sustain I use (I have a fully built Bailu, and that is good enough for MoC, so I don’t really need another sustain), but will it be worth it to pull for her, (currently at 25 pulls, with 8 pity and 50/50), primary teams is currently some combination of Kafka DoT (all of her sub units are built), and Topaz Clara dual DPS (SW is used as the support here, because I really just want 1 thing to die), and Mono Quantum. Her energy recharge sounds nice, and more useful then the crit rate of Fu xuan for double / triple DoT especially since, Luka and Samp depending on comp have energy issues from just not getting enough actions (although Guin seems to have it a lot better). On the other hand, Guin Luka and Sampo are all absurdly squishy, and Fu actually fixes that, but Huohuo will simply stand there if they are 1 – 2 shot from their average of 2900 HP.

    Would I be better off savying for Hanya (really don’t care for argenti Kit, and don’t need SW eidolons), or full skip this patch?

    • well for su (sd) you can use fu xuan because you just need one team and for moc she is not bad since there are no mobs with oneshot abilities and she basically can heal whenever you want. just pop an ultimate. moc should be a bit more consistant with her without using too much sustain. still not a must pull like fu xuan if you ask me.

    • also note that you can use downloaders to change your team depending on which Blessings you get–the 3* Destruction blessing that splits damage taken across the whole team looks very desirable for a kafka dot team already (as your attackers are all weak to being focused down, and it synergizes well with the Nihility “heal when your dots deal damage” blessing). If you get it, Huohuo becomes super strong and you can switch her in.
      that’s still within the definiton of a “luxury pull” rather than something you need, though.

    • No. Sacrificed Life stacks are required, they are consumed in order to heal allies. No stacks, no heal.

      I’m no programmer or linguist but… if you simplify the skill effect it goes like this:
      If X is present when Y or Z happens, then do A and B.

      What you’re trying to say is:
      If X is present when Y happens, or when Z happens, then do A and B.

      I feel like the comma (or lack thereof) before “or” is important here. Though tbh, if they wanted to portray it the way you’re interpreting it, they would’ve restructured the sentence entirely.

      • I see it now. Ofc a stack is required since ultimates don’t require a turn to use and can be activated anytime. If it doesn’t then she’ll break the game. Thanks anyways.

        • I forgot this because it was a recent change, but upon backreading some of the comments, the 6 stacks are apparently only consumed for the cleanse. The healing has no limit as long as the buff is still active (lasts 2 turns) so it’s similar to Luocha’s “field” in that regard.

  4. If an ally is imprisoned or cc’d, does Huohuo’s talent cleanse the cc and thus let the ally take the turn ? (im thinking about jingyuan getting cc’d and lightning lord)

    • It’s a good question, but I think regarding LL we’re looking at this the wrong way.

      It’s only a problem when LL is ahead of Jing Yuan while he’s still CC’d. In that case you wouldn’t be able to rely on the Talent *unless* he’s below 50% HP and someone else took a turn or used an Ult before LL can act, thus triggering the talent on him as well.

      Now if LL is behind Jing Yuan, then there’s no problem even without the cleanse. Imprisonment is cleared at the start of his turn, and Freeze is cleared too (but his turn is skipped). Since he’s technically free from CC after his own turn, LL can still act afterwards.

      But regardless, it would be great to see the cleanse taking priority. This would matter a lot when it comes to Freeze and losing a turn.
